We were visiting from Ky for a swim meet and were looking for local pizza. We hit the jackpot with Porky's. I first want to say Sarah needs a raise. She answered the phone. Despite my southern accent she answered all my questions and was polite when I said I needed to call back for a later delivery time. She is an asset to your business. The pizza was very good. I liked the sauce and the crust was outstanding. The cookie was HUGE and very good. The breads were just ok. I would not get them again. We did deliver and it was prompt. And.... I've been wanting to try Porky's for a while now, and the opportunity presented itself perfectly yesterday. I ordered the deluxe pizza online, for in store pickup. When I arrived, I was greeted quickly, and was told my order was almost ready. The store is clean and tidy. The two ladies working in the store were SO friendly. Like, I thought gosh, I could hang out here and make pizzas, and I think we would all have a great time. However, my hungry husband at home probably wouldn't have been too happy with me. I ordered the deluxe pizza. It was very good! The pepperoni has a nice little kick to it, and the crust was done to my liking. I will certainly be stopping in again the next time I am in the area and we are wanting pizza. It is carryout or delivery only, but if the weather is nice, you aren't far from Garfield Park, so you could grab carryout and have a picnic in the park. I just got the chance to try this place recently and the pizza was delicious. I ordered a large barbecue chicken pizza, breadsticks and a two liter it was very reasonably priced! The customer service was great on the phone and in person when I picked up as well. Didn't take long for them to have my order ready as well about 25 minutes. I'm definitely going to be coming back in the future if you're in the area give this place some support! read more

I thought Porky's was great. We just tried it for the first time tonight. My grandparents live just down the road and this was the closest local pizza joint (always eat local). We ordered Porky's takeout special of two large, one topping pizzas for $19.99. They also offered 1 large topping + 2-liter of soda for $9.99 or a large pizza, large breadsticks and 2-liter for $17.99. We didn't need the soda so stuck with pizza only. We ordered sausage for one of the pizzas and half cheese/half pepperoni for the other. Everything was ready in the 20 minutes they told me it would be. And the pizzas tasted great! Thin crust and cut in squares. I love the smaller, crumbly sausage and the pepperoni was good as well. Definitely a great choice for takeout or delivery pizza on Indy's south side. I love this place, pizza is always fresh, the sauce is a little sweet I love it. I feel they don't put much on the pizza so I always ask for extra and it's perfect. Also there is a sampler pack thing it's amazing it's got poppers, wings, fries, chicken tenders and a few other things! Everything in that sampler pack is so tasty! Food wasn't bad for the time of night that we got it! It filled our bellies. I would recommend going earlier in the night. The burger was good, baked beans were alright (seemed like they were from a can unfortunately). I think the only part of the meal that I could say I want 100% wasn't happy with was the fried mushrooms. They seemed to be cooked too fast as they were still mushy inside (not the mushroom). We took a few bites and threw them away. The wings are okay. The breadsticks taste stale. The thin, cardboard like crust and lackluster tasting sauce makes the pizza barely edible. I don't plan on ordering pizza from them again, but might try their other options at a later point if I'm hungry enough. read more

First off they cut the pizza into these weird squares and the crust is super thin so it's like eating squares pizza slices with no crust. The texture was way off and they flavor is lacking at best. By far the worst pizza I have ever eaten. My wife gets upset if I even mention them. I have no idea how they stayed in the pizza business this long. read more

Frozen crust. Pizza is thin and crispy...which isn't my gig, but I pretty much love all pizzas, so hard to disappoint me. The advertised special on the board outside the door was 1 topping 12" for $5.14 or something close. Service was fine and quick but it was late on a weekday. I would rate it somewhere between a Totinos and a Pizza Hut. For $5 I would probably return out of convenience and price, but I bet it will take me a few months to desire to come back. There didn't seem to be many sides I would be interested in, and I wish I had remembered to take a menu. It was OK. You get what you pay for, but if you don't care for thin and crispy I would stick with Little Caesars across the street. read more

The price and specials (ask when you call) are comparable to chains but I think the pizza is better here, and plus you get to support a small local shop. I have eaten Porky's Pizza almost every week this summer. The Carry out special is an awesome deal for someone that wants a pizza and a drink for a good price! If you feel the crust gets too crispy you can request they cook it on a pan instead of the mesh pans it is normally cooked on. The Porky's Nachos are also very good and come topped with more than just cheese and meat. As far as sandwiches go, I would recommend the pizza Stromboli or the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. the delivery drivers are very quick and are always nice. There is no delivery fee however, orders must be at least $10 It is best if you call your order in ahead of time and state when you would like it delivered. Very average, but consistently average pizza shop that delivers to the Garfield Park area. As a local resident, I have tried several items on the menu and the nachos and taco pizza are my favorites. Always reasonably quick and my order has always been correct. The stars named it on this one. This place is so "meh" for me. It's not god awful, but it's not awesome either. The crust is the kind that you shouldn't even bother trying to eat the next day because it is so rock hard you might break a tooth, even after oven cooking, and the breadsticks are literally that. Just sticks of bread. The only thing about this place I did enjoy was the delivery driver. I don't know if he still works for them, but he had this super tricked out van, I mean no back seat but huge speakers with these blue lights around them. I house sit in this neighborhood from time to time, and decided to try Porky's out. Meh. A frozen pizza is probably better. I will say that their pepperoni was lean, but the pizza as a whole had little flavor. I was the only pizza carry out order, so maybe their sandwiches are where it's at. I would give it another shot. The pizza was alright. A decent option if you're sick of pizza hut or papa johns. But, I am giving this 2 stars based on the lack of customer service provided. A couple days prior to placing an order ourselves, my brother in law ordered pizza from them to be delivered to our house- no issues. Later on, we decided to give them a try. We called to place our order and once my husband gave our address we were told they don't deliver that far....however, we are within the same zip code. After a lot of back and forth and letting them know they delivered to us before, they begrudgingly completed the order. They were never apologetic about their attitude towards us. I am sorry to say that this was the worst pizza ever! Decided to try because wanted to support local business. Crust really did look and taste like cardboard. Really, cardboard would have been better. Sauce was odd -- tomato sauce with some oregano sprinkled on top. Sausage was not good -- very finely ground meat of some kind with sprinkled across top. Did not taste like either breafast or Italian sausage. Not much cheese and it was not tasty. Really, the cheapest frozen pizza at the grocery store would be better. read more
