Really good place for pizza but honestly the Italian beef sandwich is money!!!! I must try!!

I've heard about Giordano's from just going to Chicago it seemed to be a good pizza place to try since it was famous for their deep dish. Unfortunately I'm a little lactose intolerant so I opted for the thin crust instead! I liked the mozzarella triangles but my pizza was okay! My friends seemed to like the deep dish pizza but my thin crust pizza was just okay. However the restaurant was clean & had a nice atmosphere for hanging out with friends! I have a feeling they might do better with the deep dish vs the thin crust though! I might be back to see try some of the deep dish to see! read more

Not bad. I like how easy it was to order online. Their pizza was good however I have not been to a Giordano's in Chicago. The naked wings were good too. I would not order their calamari again. I'd order the Parmesan garlic fries though. Also they were missing the soda from our order. read more

We we're disappointed in our deep dish carry out. Raw soggy bottom crust which had to be "rebaked" once we got home but was nearly impossible to get off the cardboard as it had soaked through. Bummer. read more

I love Giordano's deep dish! We used to stop in Chicago whenever we were passing through because you can't find pizza this awesome anywhere else. So I was SO EXCITED to see that hum drum DAYTON was getting its very own Giordano's!! And apparently everyone else in town agrees because this place has been mobbed ever since it opened last month. Which has probably completely overwhelmed them. So they're working out the kinks. We got a craving for this place around 7p on a Friday. We knew it'd be mobbed, so we looked up the wait time on a to-go order - 9:30p. Nope. So we decided to wait until the next day and do an early dinner. We have kids, so I did a call ahead for dining in. Glad I did! They were already so busy (1 hour wait for a table) that they weren't offering call aheads. So we changed the plan and made a to-go order for a large deep dish and two orders of bbq boneless wings. I placed the order at 3:25p and they told me that it would be ready at 4:50p. Wow. Later than I expected, but still worked. But 4:50p on a Saturday night meant crazy traffic simply making that left into their parking lot and then competing for a parking space. I entered through the main door and looked around for a carry out counter. Well, it was located on the opposite side of the restaurant next to another door that I already passed and could've entered through. This felt extra annoying due to the rainy weather and the fact that I was carrying a heavy car seat with my four month old inside. Giordano's! Please mark your carry out entrance!! (As I walked over I happened to hear the current wait for a table had now become two hours, FYI.) The carry out counter also had a line. Go figure. There were two or three people in front of me and I probably waited about ten minutes before I talked to the girl at the register. But the wait was totally worth it for our Meat & More Meat Deep Dish Pizza! The main disappointment? They gave us bone in wings instead of boneless. Something I obviously should've checked before leaving the restaurant. Ugh. Also, they didn't give us a side of ranch for our wings. Sad day. read more

We picked a slightly unusual day (Easter Sunday brunch) to meet up with another couple at Giordano's, and I'm not sure how "typical" our experience was, but we had absolutely no complaints, and would go again, hopefully sooner than later!! We weren't sure they were even going to be open, but they were, and we were quickly seated in their beautiful and well-spaced out main dining room. Tempting menu, lots of interesting salad, sub, and pizza choices, including "make your own." We shared a medium veggie pizza and the other couple ordered a mix of meats plus feta cheese, and I had a side salad, which was great, practically a meal in itself!! Yes, you'll have a wait for their delicious, Chicago-style pizza, but that means you're getting it FRESH, and not even in the same universe as some other "pre-fab" pizzas in the area!! We've been to Chicago a few times, but we've usually done Malnotti's when we go. Giordano's is a little different in the crust area (Malnotti's has a dense more buttery thick almost crackery crust) but it's still fantastic. I can not compare it to Gino's East as we have never been there, sorry. It's like Chris Pine, Chris Evans or Chris Helmsworth. All are different but assuredly equally lucious - you're not gonna kick any of them out of bed. One thing to remember, this is "deep dish". That is to say it is NOT "pan pizza". "Pan" is a different kind of pizza, just as thin crust is. Pan has a thick fluffy doughy crust with sometime a light crisp buttery edge from the baking in the pan. It's thick, but soft and airy. On deep dish, the crust is structural. Like an actual pie. It has to hold up all this meat and cheese in, like a flavor dam. The crust of a deep dish is built up from the bottom and it forms a tall bowl to fill with toppings. The toppings go in raw. The sausage for instance in uncooked and spread across the bottom like a giant patty. And then a metric ton of cheese. Then more toppings, etc. Then it is topped with a layer of fresh tomato sauce. The outer crust is crunchy and solid and stands up, the bottom is firm and has a bit of crunch as well. That said, Giordano's, like all Chicago deep dish pizzas (and let's assume all the various Chris'es) are not fast food. They take time to do their thing. (Are you with me still?) So you do want to order your pizza as fast as you can as they take 45 min to bake. All those toppings in that thick bowl of dough have to cook. It's totally worth it. (Reviewer takes a second to ponder Chris Helmsworth's full potential of those same 45 minutes) Ahem, anyway... They do have a nice assortment of other Chris'es... I mean appetizers... to hold you over till the over 5 pounds of hot and cheesy food coma arrives. I wouldn't plan much after that. Napping and pizza are the bestest friends! They do have a extra thin crust pizza as well, and that comes out much faster - but that's just being a quitter. No one raves about Chicago thin crust. We thought service was perfectly fine, no complaints at all in that regard. Our waitress was very fast on drinks and was fast on removing dirty plates and checking on us. My husband drinks tea like a dying man in the desert so anyone who can keep up with that gets a great tip. I think people need to cut them a bit of a break on service for a couple weeks, this place was crazy busy and only been open like 5 days. Probably would give it 4 stars because I think I prefer Malnotti's, and our pizza was a bit light on sauce which I will write off to it being the first day of lunch service with a full house. But, because this is 6 hours closer to my mouth than Chicago it gets 5! read more

We decided to try a new pizza place this past weekend called Giordano's. Be prepared to wait over an hour for the deep dish pizza. Although the family was super excited about trying this new location Beavercreek. The were some shortcomings to this location. The restaurant sat us in the back of this location at a high traffic table where there was little room so when the servers kept walking by they run into our chairs. We waited for well over an hour and 15 minutes which was quite disappointing. We were told this custom deep dish was going to take a while but well over an hour long the pizza came out to us luke warm and not piping hot we wonder if it was sitting in the kitchen for a while. Restaurant ambiance was definitely friendly but high noise levels and difficult to have a conversation. The two medium size pizzas we ordered was more than plenty to feed 6 + people. If dining in a group one large pizza would have been more than plenty to feed 4 people plus a child. The pizza had a lot of flavors and was really good although it came out to us somewhat warm but not hot. Much to our surprise it was made with a lot of sauce and cheese with minimal ingredients. The crust was definitely hard than expected with a crunchy pie crust. We will definitely give this place another try with some advance ordering. After waiting for over an hour the pizza came out and was good but could have been better to the original location in Chicago. The restaurant ambiance was ok with high levels of noise. The food was ok based on the wait and the temperature of the pizza. The pizza was good but could have been better. The service was ok not great based on time of day and how busy they were the server could have been more attentive. This place is recommended for families but perhaps on a day where it is less congested. It would have been more enjoyable with better seating and service arrangements and hotter pizza served. read more

Tl;DR it's new and they have some things to work out. I would wait until the crowds die down a bit to give it a real chance. Food: I really wanted to enjoy the pizza, but it fell a little short. The flavors were good, but a lack of sauce left it really dry. We had to ask for a side of sauce, which helped but wasn't quite right. I'm hoping this was due to how busy things were opening week and not a continuing issue. Service: Started with an incorrect quote on how long the wait would be. 20-30 min quotes time turned into an hour plus wait. We were very close to walking out when we finally got a table. The server was nice, but unfortunately forgot to ring in one of the two pizzas we ordered. Normally not too big of a deal, but on deep dish that meant at least another 45 min wait after we had already waited 1hr 30min. We decided not to wait on the second pizza, but the manager did make it right which was really appreciated. Overall it was a lackluster experience. I would give it another chance once it's not the new thing in town, mostly because I've heard good things from other locations and the manager actually made things right. read more

What better way to celebrate Pi Day (3/14) than a trip to my favorite pizzeria. It's not located in Chicago, but I had no idea that there was a Giordano's up in Dayton. When you arrive, try and get your pizza order ready as soon as possible, the deep dish pizza take roughly 45 minutes to prepare. So if you order as soon as you sit down, you can get that started right away. We were hungry so we started off with the Tomato Bruschetta. It was good, just simple taste. Tomatoes with some balsamic drizzle on top of a crostini. It was good, I would try something else next time. Then came the deep dish pizza. I loved it. Deep dish pizza is my favorite. Giordano's does it right. When on deployment, we were going to try and get Giordano's sent overseas, but they only ship to the Continental US, so was a bit disappointed, but completely understand. Will return whenever I am in the Dayton area and craving pizza. The best! read more

Well... we went on a Saturday afternoon, about 2 pm, and we had an hour wait to get seated. Once we got a table, our server, John, came to the table to get our drink order. We were told that a pizza order would take about an hour and a half... yep, I said 1 1/2hrs once we ordered. We got an appetizer, and a second and finally our pizzas came out. The pizza was great! I've eaten at Giordano's in Chicago, and this was really close. Our server told us that all of there ingredients come from Chicago, so that can maintain consistency across all of their stores. Now for the "time" issues... An hour wait, for a new restaurant in Beavercreek, isn't an issue, but an hour and a half wait, once you've been seated, could be. Again, according to our server, the company did not anticipate the volume of business this store was going to do. Their carry-out business is very overwhelming and causes eat-in customers to wait. Overall... Great service! John was the best server I think I've ever had. I think the wait will become less and less as time goes on. The food... very good! As I type this it's been a hour and 12 minutes since we placed our pizza order. The waitress told us a deep dish takes about 45 minutes so we were prepared for that, but we are heading toward 90 minutes?! Do not let them seat yo in the back behind the garage door as I believe it is part of the restaurant freezer. Two groups left so as not to freeze. At an hour and 15 minutes I asked the waitress where our pizza was and she said she had the manager coming to talk to us because it has taken so long. The manager explained that first order was dropped and our pizza had to be remade. We completely understood the delay now, but wish the honesty would have came sooner. Our waitress Shatori was pleasant and helpful as was management. Management also gave us $15.00 off our order for the delay. We will come back, accidents happen and we are glad they didn't serve us a dropped pizza. read more

This was my first time coming to this location, I've been in Chicago but was a little skeptical that this would live up to my expectations... I must say it went above and beyond what I thought. We got carryout and I placed my order over the phone. The person who took my order, Brittney, was able to answer all questions I had and helped with my son's allergies. We got the deep dish and it was phenomenal. I mean even better than what we got in Chicago! My son's gluten free pizza was pretty good too, usually I think gluten free food can be bland but his pizza was quite tasty! I can not wait to return and we definitely will be eating there. Giordano's is in a word deliciousness! Sauce is a myriad of flavor. Everything from the robustness of the tomatos, to the slight zip from the crushed red peppers had us enjoying this sauce. Unlike other pizzas, the sauce on a deep dish pizza does not have the luxury of hiding behind cheese and toppings. This sauce stands boldly on top of the pizza. Tomatoe sauce being the great insulator it is, even sliced, the pizza remained hot during travel. Our pie was packed with cheese and vegetables. Vegetables retained their structural integrity. Onions, bell peppers and broccoli all had a slight crispness to them. They were clearly fresh before being added to the pie. Crust was a tad bit flakey. We all enjoy the way the filling baked into the inner wall of the crust. There is something about all those carbs paired all that ooey gooey cheese, sauce, and plethora of vegetables that is so comforting. Giordano's has our vote for a location closer to Cincinnati. Giordano's is more than deep dish pizza. For those not fond of the format, they also offer thin and ultra thin crust. Salads, sandwiches, wings, and various sides are available. They even have french fries to go with the sandwiches. Our pizza was ordered as carryout. The server who assisted us was prompt. She was also all smiles. Carryout and delivery orders may be ordered online, via their app, or over the phone. There is the option to pay with credit or cash, even when ordering electronically. The only exception is when ordering electronically to have a pizza shipped. They do ship pizzas nationally. Traditional delivery is available locally. Guests may sign up for their emails or app in advance, and receive a coupon code for a free treat. The coupon is only good for a short amount of time, so don't sign up too far in advance. There are two entrances into the building. One is for carryout orders. The other entrance is for dining in. Which entrance is which is marked above the doors, on the red awnings. read more

Honestly, I love Giordano's pizza.... which is why I didn't give this review 1 star... but the service is terrible!!! First off, why do some servers see a table of 6 people and choose not to write down anyone's order? That's frustrating... and even if you don't mess up, I'm still not impressed because I'm just worried the whole time that they got the order wrong. Anyway, we ordered our pizza first to get the order in ASAP then drinks, appetizers and salads. She mixed up some drink orders giving regular Pepsi instead of diet. Then... after about 35 minutes of waiting I asked if we could at least get the salads (which were lettuce, fennel and tomatoes.... something that would take 1 minute to make) and she indicated - with some attitude - that the kitchen was very behind (this is 3 in the afternoon the restaurant is about 1/2 full. Then we see her go to the computer to I assume actually place the salad order. Then our pizza comes out... 45 minutes for that pizza to bake and still no salads or appetizers... and an attitude like "sorry not sorry" Then, when the bill comes, the server finally drops her attitude and becomes cheerful thanking us for coming in anticipation of her tip. We were all pretty shocked with the service. Didn't know restaurants like this hired servers like that. Again, I love the food but dining out for me is an experience and this was a very poor experience. The quality of the food has gone way down. They've also shaved their menu way back eliminating some of my favorites. One of us asked for a Greek salad with a grilled chicken breast. The chicken breast was cold and was as tough as rubber. Another ordered a house salad that was literally half onions when we asked for no onion. The chicken parm was good. Our server seemed brand new- he didn't know the menu and he definitely couldn't pronounce things like minestrone, fettuccine, and vinaigrette. I will not be going back. read more

I was elated to find Giordano's had expanded to Indianapolis, so you can only imagine how happy to have Giordano's in Ohio! I understand (and appreciate) the 45 minutes it takes to create a proper Chicago-style pizza, but I do not extend the same grace to drink orders or salads for that matter. We visited between the lunch and dinner rush, so there is absolutely no excuse to wait 15 minutes for our drinks, or the additional 15 minutes after that for our salads. Service needs work, Giordano's. Your 4-star rating comes from the pizza and the pizza only. My wife tried a traditional crust (mostly to satisfy curiosity), and we both agree, the Chicago-style pizza is the only way to go... And it did not disappoint! I don't know if the chunky marinara - which is closer to a paste than a sauce - or the thin sliced pepperoni, or the buried mozzarella cheese blend pushes it over the top, but it's worth every minute of the drive to get here. It was too early for drinks, but I did notice the 8-handle tap as well as a three page drink menu, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities for an evening visit. Giordano's: fix the front of the house. Most of Ohio doesn't understand how long it's supposed to take for the pizza, so you have to get someone on the floor to explain it and serve some drinks while we wait. And I was even more excited to learn that it was just as good as the one in Chicago. We were blessed with the exceptional server Logan. We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner one weekday afternoon. Service was fantastic. They weren't that busy. The server gave a us a quick rundown of the menu & let us know in advance if we wanted a Deep Dish pizza that those took at least 30-45 minutes to bake. I found this super helpful. We were in no hurry and were going to order the deep dish anyway but this would have definitely helped in a situation where someone was pressed for time. We had an appetizer first, the mozzarella cheese triangles (forget what they are actually called) but they were fantastic, not too much breading and the perfect amount of gooey cheese. Up next was our delicious pizza, it was worth the wait. Came out of the oven piping hot & every bite was scrumptious. The atmosphere was great even on a weekday & the restaurant was very clean. We will be back. We have definitely found our new go to pizza place for Beavercreek/Fairborn area. We had pizza left over and brought it home. This is now my fav pizza place! If you enjoy lots of cheese on your pizza then this is the perfect pizza for you. The food is made fresh --so be warned you need lots of time --it takes 30 min to bring out a pizza--yikes! Appetizers come out quick though---so if you are super hungry then you will definitely need to order an appetizer to hold you over. Again, as mentioned earlier -lots of cheese in these pizzas; so if you are lactose intolerant or don't like cheese--order spaghetti, salador a different menu item! Would give 2.5 star rating; 3 seems too generous but 2 stars is a little harsh. This was my first time at this location. I have been to other Giordano's locations in other states and have loved the food and experience there. However, I can't say the same about this location. The pizza was good, but not as delicious as I remember from other locations. My boyfriend and I split a small Chicago Style Deep Dish. We can eat a lot, but only had two each. It's VERY filling, which probably has a lot to do with how much cheese they put on. I prefer a bit more sauce, but if you love cheesy pizzas, this one's a hit. Otherwise, my only complaint about the pizza is that the pizza came out room-temperature. Not cold... but you would think that a pizza that takes 45+ minutes to make would come out much warmer. The main reason I'm rating this location lower deals with their lack of cleanliness. Not terrible, but enough to effect my appetite negatively. All of the booths had crumbs, nearly all of the dishes were somewhat dirty, and the bathroom needed cleaning. When I got my water, I noticed some crumbs inside the glass... yum. I had to wipe off my silverware before eating. I didn't bother asking for other silverware and plates just because I know how it usually works; what they'll give is usually not much cleaner than what you had. As much as I love Giordano's, I'm not sure if I'll return to this location anytime soon. I think they just need more staff helping out. I only get to go once in a while because it's pretty far away from my house but I definitely make the trip and it actually turns out perfectly because I pre-order the food before I leave the house because the deep dish pizza takes like 45 mins to make. Instead of waiting 45 minutes for the food to come out and then probably sitting there another 45 minutes eating I'd much rather have the food ready when I get there and not occupy a table longer than necessary. So, I'll admit right up front: I'm a New York style pizza kind of guy. I like thin, crispy crust and a foldable slice that's easy to pick up and knosh. That said, I can respect Chicago-style pizza for what it is. And, when rumors started swirling about Giordano's making their way into the area, I knew I had to give them a run. Unfortunately, our experience at Giordano's was less than what I'd been hoping for. Upon entering (we went on a Sunday, specifically during off-hours, around 3pm), we were told that we'd have a 30 minute wait. Glancing around the restaurant briefly, I couldn't help but note that literally half of the tables were unoccupied. Really, gang? You couldn't at least seat us, even if the food would take a while? We were seated after about 20 minutes, but the point remains: what's the point of having so many tables if you're not going to use them? Starving by that point, Jules and I each got a pizza (hers, a personal Supreme; mine, a small All-The-Meats), as well as a bruschetta appetizer. We were told that, because of the method of cooking, we'd be looking at a 45 minute wait on the pizzas. Okay, no worries; that was to be expected. What I didn't expect was the underwhelming food. Our bruschetta was overly loaded down with diced tomato--easily three times the amount that should have been on the plate--to the point where the crostini below the topping turned into so much mush. While I could physically pick up the first piece (albeit with a mound of marinated tomato spilling all over my plate), the second piece defied any such attempts. I literally had to eat my second piece of bruschetta with a knife and fork. That's not acceptable. I held out hope, though, for our pizzas....though those hopes were swiftly dashed. The crust on my pizza was significantly underdone. At first, I thought it might have been the layer of cheese atop the crust, but no: the crust itself was doughy and not fully cooked, especially along the deep dish edge. I elected to cut my losses and pack the pizza up for leftovers; reheated in our oven, that crust might actually be edible. All this, for $55, not counting tip. Ouch. Simply put, that's way too much for subpar food, even if it does give me two more meals. Sad as it is to say, you're better off with the deep dish at LaRosa's, if you're craving a thick crust pie. If I could leave a negative star rating I would. Terrible terrible service. Walked in and was told we couldnt be seated even though 50% of the restaurant was empty tables ! We were told it was due to a shift change and they were waiting on staff. Then we order and were told it would be. 60 min wait for the world famous deep dish pizza. Hello ? Youre in business to provide your world famous pizza ??? Well its been 90 mins and no sign of pizza. What a disappointment ! Oh yeah and their wedge salad is not a wedge at all not even close. Its stalks of romain laid on a plate. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place no matter what !!! We wont be back. read more
