Thursday afternoon lunch with a craving for pizza. Had the cesar, roasted cauliflower, the dayton (pepperoni) and angry beekeeper. The cesar was solid and the roasted cauliflower was really good. The char on the cauliflower was nice it could have used a little more heat. The pizzas were good. The crust definitely could have been a little more crisp. The flavors were good and the pizza was not greasy. The only feedback is that I have honey hints on pizza before and they work best with some spice, there was no spice and that made the pizza a little too sweet. read more

This could be my absolute new favorite place for pizza. Man oh man...such a great pie. Toppings are appropriate. Crust is 10 out of 10 with its flavor and flex. You walk up to the counter and place your food order. Also, GF praise...Their GF crust is legit and my daughter absolutely LOVES it! Again, 10 out of 10. Good amount of pizza options. They offer sandwiches. Their salads are great. We had their house salad last time and it was awesome. We haven't ventured into their appetizers yet but I am told their baked cauliflower thing is well worth it. The drink options are awesome. Their ciders are great. I ordered an old fashioned (a speciality of theirs and it was fantastic). The place is chill. Lots of seating. Visiting family in the area and decided to check out Old Scratch Pizza. We were greeted with a smile and enthusiastic hospitality. Ordered the lunch special and ordered three pizzas (Elliot, Dayton & Angry Beekeeper). The pizzas arrived at the table in a few minutes after. Everyone enjoyed their 9 inch pizzas. They were delicious! The dough was soft, the tomato sauce was spiced perfectly and the mozzarella had crazy pull! The pepperoni was crispy and full of flavor on the Dayton. The restaurant has plenty of space to accommodate a large group of guests. Place was very clean. They also have a bar and soft serve ice cream for the kiddos for dessert! Love Old Scratch and I am excited they have come to Beavercreek! Especially since it is way closer to me than the Dayton or Centerville locations. I ate at the bar and the service was great. Very much a family owned vibe. The pizza was decent. I thought the crust was a bit undercooked, and they were spare with the toppings. I know you can't overload a wood-fired Neapolitan pizza or it will be soggy, but I think they swung a bit too far to the light side with regard to toppings. So delicious that we went back the very next day! Our first visit we placed a pickup order online and arrived ahead of it being ready so we went and had a drink at the bar. The bartender, whose name I never got, was very upbeat and friendly and told us about the local Dayton vodka and whiskey when I asked about the bottle. The pizza we ordered was called The Angry Beekeeper (tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, spicy salami, house-made hot honey, olive oil) and was a wonderful combination of ingredients. The crust was flavorful and perfectly crisp. I also got a house salad (romaine, red onion, cucumber, cherry tomato, chickpea, croutons, creamy italian dressing) which was served with warm pita bread. Best visit to Old Scratch yet! Like some others who have had droopy pizza here, I asked for a recommendation on how to order that might prevent the experience in the future. The cashier was so helpful, explaining their cooking method as being Midwest Neapolitan style that is intended to be a little softer, and I simply need to order well done. We had the Deluxe well done and it was so good. It had a little more char but didn't taste burnt still had a great chew without being droopy. Success! My first time at this location on a Friday in January. I lost power in my house, and had to find a place to A) have lunch B) power my all day call. They have plenty of outlets under the bar, and I wanted to be out of the way of others eating, so I propped up at the bar side close to the pizza ovens after putting my order in at the front. I ordered a Mediterranean salad (half) and a margarita pizza. Knowing that I would probably take most of it home, I asked for a box for the pizza and the salad in a to-go box. The salad was not my favorite of theirs. To be honest, I thought I had ordered a different one that we usually get at the downtown location. It was good, but not the one I wanted. Lol The ingredients were fresh and the salad dressing was light. The pizza was perfect. It was lunch so I was able to get the 9" version. True to Old Scratch's reputation, the crust was crisp and the toppings were hot. Fantastic, oven baked pizza. I was able to stay until around 3:00 without taking a needed spot. The bartender was on top of filling my water and more than willing to help if I needed. The building is slightly louder than a regular restaurant. When it fills with people, it tends to echo. I did have in ear buds and could hear my call just fine, but if you have members of your party who are hard of hearing, you may see if they are comfortable. read more

One of the best pizzas I've had in a while. we had the Angry Beekeeper and margarita. Both excellent. The only bad part was getting a beer or drink! I decided I didn't want to wait 10-15 minutes like other people waiting to order one at the bar, no table service. They weren't even that busy at the bar itself. definitely losing money there. 3 beers probably would have doubled their bill to us. sports bar vibe inside, casual dining, but nice. definitely do the pizza there again. read more

First time there, last time there. We walked in and quickly realized t's a Golden Corral for pizza. Ordered pizza but you have to order drinks separately. When you check out from ordering your pizzas they will ask you for a tip. Having never been there I assumed there was some sort of table service. Tonight was a Sunday but it did seem busy. The cashier suggests a table. Before we get to that table it's taken by people ordering drinks from the bar. The cashier frustrated but sends us to another table. We goto that table only to find it's still dirty. Waited a little bit but nobody is cleaning tables. Cashier hands my wife wet wipes. I got frustrated, WTF did I tip for, why did they ask for a tip if I have to clean my own table, order my own drinks on a separate tab and bring it all to my my table (which we had to share).
