I stopped at the location next to the Dayton Mall around 430 yesterday to pick up a gift card for family and to order some food for myself. The person behind the counter actually laughed at the customer next to me that asked for the pizza to be remade because it was cold. When it was my turn I asked this same staff for a gift card and was about to place my food order and was interrupted with "are you going to order or not?" I told her that I didn't appreciate her rudeness and Ieft. Drove to the Centerville Marions, got my gift card, and a small pizza for myself. The service was great, friendly, and prompt. Pizza excellent. The Dayton Mall location manager needs to have a talk with that staff member. Considering the Dayton Mall area is fading fast, Marions can't afford to drive away people. read more

I ordered the super cheese...my daughter and I split the 9" and it was plenty for two with leftovers. My fiancée is gluten free and had never had Marion's before. Dayton is known for Marions Pizza!!! I don't even like pizzas with meat except for this one. The everything is one of the best things I ever put in my mouth. My sister brought one of those and a Sauerkraut and Ham over moving day, and we all devoured it! I see you rolling your eyes at the Sauerkraut and Ham but you need to try this before passing judgement...it is awesome. I didn't grow up with this so I don't feel the nostalgia of the locals. The restaurant itself looks dated inside but the employees were friendly. I only went over because I was doing laundry nearby and needed something for dinner. Ordering was easy and the cashier said it would take 10 mins for a pizza to go. I didn't arrive within 10 mins and they kept it warm on top of the oven for me (very thoughtful). Flavor was OK but the finely chopped toppings and cut squares of pizza just didn't do it for me and my family. We enjoy stretching the cheese off of a triangle of pizza and a thicker crust with toppings that aren't finely chopped. read more

I've grown up eating Marion's and across every location it's the same great pizza and charming atmosphere. Service is always speedy about getting the food out. Their house salads are so good, the pasta is even good (which you can't say about a lot of pizza places nowadays) and I love being able to get a pitcher for the table to not have to worry about getting up for refills. read more

I had pizza from Marino's Piazza. It was ok. I had pepperoni pizza. It was not very hot. We had it delivered so that could be why it was cool! The taste was good. When the pizza came it looked dishovled .. it definitely was thrown around. Again it could have been from how it was coming in the car bringing to us! I have photos below. Service is usually good, there could be new people working and don't know much about service yet as Marion's does have high schoolers working but usually it's very good and friendly. Dayton is my hometown, and whenever I'm back in town, my pizza choice was the "Pizza King'" as Vic & Mom's was the pizza of my childhood. For many, this is literally a childhood emotion. After sports games, or after celebratory middle school, high school events...you come here. It's just what you do in this hood. IYKYK. If you don't know, consider yourself lucky. Lol I kid. I can vaguely recall a 7th grade teacher of mine having surgery and getting this as her "last meal" before surgery. Yea it was a weird thing to advertise to kids, but so was she, anyways I digress. There are few ways to approach this, get the deluxe or get the plain cheese. It's an experience filled with nostalgia for most of us, so while you eat it you can't help but think back to the old days. I often wonder what's it's like to eat this without those emotions... (To preface this, I'm a lifelong Dayton pizza fan - square cut, thin crust as made for decades by Cassano's, Marion's and Ron's.) Marion's, or perhaps the Centerville location, has jumped the shark. We got a pepperoni/green olive/banana pepper pie that was just awful. The main issue is crust, texture, and sauce. This location now preps the unbaked crusts with sauce and cheese on a wire rack, so the dough sits for a LONNNG time with sauce on it. The pizza you get (and I even know to ask for "the old oven" at Marion's) is *crap* - the sauce forms a gel with the doughy crust under the cheese, and it's exactly the same feeling as a "freshly made" bake it yourself pizza from a grocery because it's prepared the same way. Honestly, many frozen pizzas taste better. Also the cheese is very inconsistent - at the edges the cheese is in little dots on top of the sauce and it looks exactly like a cheap Jack's or Totino's pizza. Marion's has always been a bit customer-unfriendly - the petty restriction about bringing 75% or more of a pizza in to have it remade, the separate line for drinks, no credit cards for years. All tolerable AS LONG AS THE PRODUCT IS SOUND. But this Marion's has destroyed the basic product they make. In the name of efficiency they've turned their product to crap. How freaking LONG does it take to ladle sauce on top of a crust immediately before topping and baking it? They still have LOTS of customers. Place was crowded at 5 on a Sunday afternoon. But Marion's doesn't even care enough to claim this Yelp profile, so I'll never hear from them. No accounting for taste - I think some Daytonians are programmed to think this is good. Go elsewhere for decent pizza, seriously. It's changed and it's bad. read more

Hooray for Marion's Pizza! This place is sentimental to me because it is somewhere I used to frequent when I was in high school. Not much has changed as far as decor and food quality goes, and honestly, that is part of what I like about it. No frills here, just yummy pizza and salads. I believe they offer sandwiches as well, but stop it, you're here for the pizza. In fact, you're here for the bomb sausage pizza. The sausage is tiny and shredded, covering the whole pie which is then cut into tiny squares that causes you to eat entirely too many since they are bite sized. But so worth it. They sell canned soda and some beer as well as bagged chips. You purchase the drinks at a separate counter where you can also get cups or pitchers of fountain soda as well. Not being a local, it took me a minute to figure out there are separate lines to order the food and get the drinks, and no real table service. Being from New York, it took me a second to wrap my mind around tiny squares of pizza....but I am sold. Perfect bite size pieces!! We got a pepperoni, a ham and sauerkraut, and a deluxe (onions, peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage.) The pepperoni pizza was good, nothing extraordinary to write about. The ham and sauerkraut was glorious!! Don't be intimidated, it's super savory and delicious. The tiny little squares of pizza almost make it feel like an appetizer! The supreme was COVERED in sausage. The entire top was super fine sausage crumbles, and surprisingly NOT messy! The crusts of all were thin, but sturdy enough to handle the toppings. This pizza is simple and went downhill over time. When I was in my youth growing up here in humble centerville it used to be a treat to eat here every now and then to taste thieve delectable cheese pizza and their deluxe pizza followed by a red cream soda. But over time the pizzas quality has decreased tenfold as every time the food is barely cooked while some of the ingredients taste bland and unsavory. Salt is much needed for this establishment and make sure to ask for the pizza well done so it's never raw! read more

Certainly not an elegant place but some really great pizza. They have eat in dining for all. Very reasonable. For me I would have preferred a nicer salad than just lettuce and of course I prefer Pepsi over Coke. But they do offer can products. The pizza was hot and meat all the way to the edge. read more

It's correct that Marion's is a place of heartfelt nostalgic for many locals. I couldn't love it any more than I do! For me, the quality hasn't changed and it is truly delicious pizza. Heard a lot about this pizza place. Wasn't too impressed for all the hype. The place has no windows (the store on Stroop) but inside it had these fake windows with lights behind them so it looks like it's daytime. The food was ok. We got their deluxe salad. It was fine (it's a salad). Pizza was decent but they cut it in squares which for Ohio is normal but being from NY is strange. We've had bigger cuts in squares from other shops but this was cut in bite size. My wife and I will not be back because we've had better pizza elsewhere. read more

My husbands' grandparents have a long standing tradition of eating family dinners at Marion's, so I have been here thrice. It's an old school mid-west pizza joint, with cracker crust pizza. Cracker crust is not my favourite kind of pizza, but it it's still pizza, so it's delicious. For my money, though, the hot sandwiches are where it's at. Order at the bar and the counter, wait for your number and enjoy a blast from the past with a side of pizza. Sometimes it gets busy so you might have to wait a little bit, but the broadway memorabilia on the walls will help you pass the time. read more

A Dayton area tradition!! The pizza here will not be to everyone's liking and or expectations. It's not New York style, or Chicago deep dish, etc., etc. It's Dayton Ohio style thin crust. And it's AWESOME in my opinion! -- A bit pricy (compared to other area pizza offerings), but AWESOME! My go to is the deluxe, minus pepperoni, substitute ham instead.
