My husbands' grandparents have a long standing tradition of eating family dinners at Marion's, so I have been here thrice. It's an old school mid-west pizza joint, with cracker crust pizza. Cracker crust is not my favourite kind of pizza, but it it's still pizza, so it's delicious. For my money, though, the hot sandwiches are where it's at. Order at the bar and the counter, wait for your number and enjoy a blast from the past with a side of pizza. Sometimes it gets busy so you might have to wait a little bit, but the broadway memorabilia on the walls will help you pass the time. read more

A Dayton area tradition!! The pizza here will not be to everyone's liking and or expectations. It's not New York style, or Chicago deep dish, etc., etc. It's Dayton Ohio style thin crust. And it's AWESOME in my opinion! -- A bit pricy (compared to other area pizza offerings), but AWESOME! My go to is the deluxe, minus pepperoni, substitute ham instead. Makes the pizza much less greasy, and in my opinion, makes it taste even better! Truly one of a kind delicious! read more

I get Marion's has been around for a long time and is a local staple. I get it. But the pizza isn't very good at all if I'm being honest. It's the local style where they cut it in small squares. The problem is it tastes like cardboard. It's incredibly bland and devoid of flavor. Add on top of that the less than friendly service I've received the times I've been there, it's way down on my list of pizza in Centerville. Overhyped. read more

This is THE best pizza in Ohio IMHO. Get the ground sausage supreme. It is divine. I only wish we had a location in Columbus but this is a local affair with dough being made fresh daily. It's the first place I go when I visit Dayton. read more

Ummm...I believe you are either a fan of Marion's or not. Nothing in-between. Others have given pretty accurate description of the pizza. The few things I feel that could be added: (1) to me, I prefer real sausage than the ground up "sausage" that they put on their pizza -- to be honest it looks like rodent droppings, (2) toppings are generally whatever you can buy from Sysco or GFS from a can -- mushrooms have that 'not so fresh' consistency and flavor, (3) the all cash policy is a throw back to when Marion was alive...he was well known throughout Dayton to be a t.i.g.h.t.w.a.d. so he wouldn't pay the 2% credit card fees (Note: Marion was a customer of my business...and gues what he paid with?). Finally, and this is the reason they get one star rather than 2. The last time we visited, we spent approximately $100+ for pizza and drinks, including several pitchers of beer. When we asked for a pitcher of water, the drink server said that this was against policy and he could give us glasses of water. I mean, really??? So, being curious, I asked the manager if there was any rationale for this. He tried to give a lame@#$ excuse that this, "...wouldn't leave enough pitchers for folks that wanted soft drinks or beer...". Come on...give me a break! I would have *paid* for a pitcher of water, but I couldn't!! It really insults the customer's intelligence to say something as stupid as this...they either need a better excuse/rationale or rethink this policy...or go to Oddlots and buy some more pitchers!!!! read more

The guy with the lazy eye who I believe is the manager started to really freak me out. he kept angrily staring at me and looks like he did not want to be there at all. The pizza was cold and I had just received it after 15 minutes of waiting. read more

Pizza here is Delish!! You can order any toppings you like, however, don't be confused if you order the Super Cheese since it is actually an everything pizza but then covered with an extra layer of cheese on top...yum! Pieces are bite size. They serve beer and wine as well. No credit cards, cash or checks only. Must make it a sop if your not from the area! read more

I live in Columbus but have friends from Dayton who swear by Marion's. I was in the area over New Year's Eve and decided to give it a shot. The restaurant wasn't busy or anything like that, and the diners seemed to be enjoying their pizza. Typical night at Marion's, I suppose. I was disappointed in the pizza. It was slightly better than a budget frozen pizza. I literally found myself asking, "What is all the fuss about here?" I think I'll tack it up to something you say you like because you're from Dayton and are supposed to like it. For the rest of us, I'm sure there has to be a better pizza place in the area. read more

I grew up on Marion's, so yeah, I am a fan! It's very different than any other pizza around. There really is no comparing it to Chicago, NY/NJ or anything that I know of. It is a simple, thin crust pizza. The menu is pretty simple and you can order the pizza the way you like. The deluxe is my favorite! They offer some sandwiches and salads as well. They serve coke products as well as beer and wine. For ever they only took cash, but they recently started accepting credit cards (visa/mc/discover) at least at the Centerville location! I really think everyone should stop by and give it a try! read more

Marion's has been a family favorite for years. A must try if you are visiting or new to the area. Thin crust and delicious. Normally I'm not a fan of sausage on pizza, but I'll make an exception here. From plain cheese to deluxe, I've never had a pizza I didn't like here. Plenty of seating to accommodate large groups (we come with a crowd for an annual gathering around the holidays with extended family). Simply put: Consistently good pizza. read more

Ask anyone about Dayton food institutions and Marion's should be near the top of the list. It's thin crust, cut into little squares, and frighteningly addictive (the sausage is my fave). But the style of pizza is not the only unorthodox thing about this place. First of all, it's cash ONLY, so be prepared for that. Also, you have to order your drinks from a separate bar, which is a little funny. Not inconvenient really since you're already paying with cash, but interesting. It's pretty affordable as far as pizza goes. Some locations are better than others, though. The Centerville location is good. The one on Far Hills and Stroop is also not bad, but I think the best location is by the Dayton Mall. It's packed on the weekends and at dinnertime, though, so go early or get carry out. read more

Good pizza I love the thin crust! The Deluxe pizza is yummy but I wish they had fresh instead of canned mushrooms. read more

Marion's Piazza - Couldn't wait to eat to take a picture of the whole pizza! - Pizza Near Me - Centerville, Ohio

I grew up eating Marion's and it's always been my all time favorite pizza! Yes, I love Chicago deep dish, but there is nothing like Marion's!! It's a must have whenever I'm back home! It's not just the memories of countless pizza parties with school clubs or carry out back home, but the pizza really is that good! I would definitely recommend the deluxe as you get the biggest bang for your buck! I always ask them to go light on the meat as the tend to put more than I can handle. But it definitely adds some extra flavor that you don't get with the veggie pizza. The pizza is cut into little squares and be sure to ask for some small paper plates to take with you! read more

Disappointed once again at Marion's in Centerville. Arrived to pick up a pie that I was looking forward to and was told it was given to another customer who didn't know who's name was on his order. Was told it would be another 10 minutes. No sorry, no discount , just wait for it. I actually respect the young person who made the mistake and informed me of what happened. It was her smug manager watching from behind. Said nope, not going wait, it's certainly not worth it. Tuscany's it is! read more

I grew up in Kettering Ohio. I'm 59 years old. Ate Cassano's Pizza since I was born essentially. I used to walk to the tiny Cassano's in Kettering with the neighborhood kids to get Pizza. Mable was the lady who worked there when I was a little kid. Years later Marion's opened. I was told by staff at Cassano's that the owner of Marion's used to work at Cassano's and stole the recipe and opened Marion's. Both restaurants make excellent, almost identical pizza. I have lived in California for the last 30 years and visit family in Dayton every year. I always have to get my Marion's or Cassano's fix. I was just in Dayton 2 weeks ago and ate at both places. This time Cassano's was the winner of my taste test. Got the same variety at each place. Pepperoni, sausage and banana pepper. Cassano's in Centerville was spot on perfect. Marion's in Centerville was not as good as it usually is. There was TOO MUCH pepperoni and sausage, and not enough sauce. And the crust seemed to be not as good as usual too. I was disappointed. Of course I still ate loads of it because I was hungry and had been so psyched to be getting my yearly Marion's fix. But definitely something was off. I usually would give Marion's 5 stars but not this time. Next time I'm going to get a Cassano's and a Marion's at the same time and do a side by side taste test. read more

I've been eating this pizza since I was a toddler. I used to get a classic supreme pizza with sausage. Now I am 21... I don't eat cheese or meat. Marions was able to make me a veggie pizza without cheese. It still tasted amazing. Something about the crust, sauce and the addition of green olives to the pie. Why does no one else put green olives on their pies?! ...amazing read more

Overrated. The pizza was tasteless. The cheese was lacking. The customer service was dour. The lack of refills was annoying. And the two separate lines for ordering and drinks was nutty. read more

I would definitely suggest. The pizza didn't take long and tasted pretty good. Plan on coming back soon!

The best pizza I have ever had. It's a Dayton/St. Louis style with thin crust and big toppings. The slices are cut into little squares. The atmosphere is like an indoor Italian piazza complete with a tree in the middle of the restaurant. There is also a good selection of sodas and beer, including draft beer. Great for kids with lots of seating and a relaxed atmosphere. There are also video games. I've been eating here since I was a kid, and have NEVER been disappointed. read more

Marion's Piazza - Pizza Near Me - Centerville, Ohio

You can read my other Marion's review for my overall feelings about Marion's Piazza, but I've eaten at this location a few times now and thought I would throw up a short review. Pretty much the same experience as Beavercreek Marions, but I gave this one more star because I find that the Pizza here is a little more consistent than Beavercreek's location. Very good (some same great) pizza and certain better than the typical national chain. read more

This is prison pizza. One star only for the staff. Avoid if not born here. Despite the lack of light, your senses will still be teased with offensive smells. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I am NOT a native of Dayton. For many years I simply did not understand the appeal of "Dayton-style" pizza and really I stand don't. That said, there is something incredibly satisfying about devouring these tiny little pieces of pizza. It cannot be explained really and this stuff is really not pizza, but damn it's good. read more

Marion's Piazza is a Dayton Area fixture that has been around since the 1960s and has even been voted as Dayton's best pizza several times over that last few decades. While Marion's beats all the national chain pizza joints, it does not serve the best pizza in Dayton. The great thing about Marion's is the atmosphere and large open seating plan that is great for families, youth sports gatherings, and parties. If you're looking for a decent pizza and the opportunity to make lasting memories with family and friends, Marion's is your place. read more

I've been a fan for years. It's consistent, reasonably quick and delicious. They were voted best pizza place in the Dayton by their staff. They're a Dayton tradition, while my tradition is to fart while playing video games. read more

Pizza seemed okay. Like they say things crust with a lot of toppings. But they should have some pictures to see what your getting her before you order. For the best pizza their service was kind of iffy and lacking for dine in guests. But the beer is a plus! read more

I live in Cincy but work in Dayton from time to time, I always come to Marion's at least once for lunch or dinner. I came here as a kid and I love that nothing has changed over the years. Same old school decor/vibe, same mouthwatering pizza. I get the deluxe pizza, there is just something about their crumbled sausage! Nice beer selection too. Great place for parties, fast friendly straight forward service and menu. Long live Marion's!!! read more

Marion's is unique to Dayton. It's a tradition for our family going back 50 years. The pizza quality seems to vary from location to location, and visit to visit. With their coupons, I wonder if they intentionally lean up on the toppings? Love the Mason location, especially the patio. Evidently no one in Mason eats outside, because we usually have it to ourselves. Not complaining!! Mason also has Warped Wing beer on tap, which is awesome!! read more

Don't see what all the fuss is about this place. Pizza is pretty good. It's cut into tiny little bite size pieces. Ordered a salad but they don't have Bleu cheese, only Ranch. Not the best I've had. You have to order your drinks separately AFTER you order and pay for your pizza at a totally separate counter. AND.... you don't get refills on your soda. I ordered a small beer and almost died laughing when she put the plastic mug on the countertop. It looked like a dadgum kids glass. There aren't any napkins on the tables. You have go back up to the pizza ordering counter to get those. Oh, and don't forget to ask for plates while you're up there gettin your napkins because they don't ask if you want those either. If you're taking part in a step challenge, this is the place to go because you'll be getting plenty of steps from all the trips back and forth from your table to the ordering place. read more

All I can say is...Not So Good! Tasteless pizza, boring salad, overpriced.

Marion's is the best pizza in OH, no doubt. I have had a lot of pizza in my life, and this place in particular takes the pie. I have been going here since I was a little kid. It is almost like a family tradition. I love the thin crust. I also love how the pizza is cut into little squares. It's highly addictive - so beware! Every time I am in OH I make sure to pay a long over due trip to Marion's. If you haven't tried it, and you are a pizza lover - you are clearly missing out!! read more

Marion's Piazza - Pepperoni fresh from the oven. - Pizza Near Me - Centerville, Ohio

This is good Dayton flat style pizza. The only down side is the service which can vary and the fact that they don't accept credit cards. These last two items relate to what seems to be a thriftiness on the part of management. It can come across negatively at times. read more

Marion's is legendary in the minds of Daytonians. If you are from here...you love it (most of you do). If you are not from here (like myself), it's not good. But I get loving it if you are from here...it's a Dayton thing. But trust me...it's just not that good. read more

Its crust is thin and I love the sausage and onions. The taste is awesome but let's face being that I'm from Cincinnati I'm a little partial to larosas. Two down falls to this place. Number one they don't except credit cards. My future in-laws referred me to Marion's so I stopped in for lunch one day. I then found out they didn't except credit cards so off to larosas I went. Number two they don't have delivery. What kind of pizza place doesn't have delivery in this day and age? So again if I'm not in the mood to leave the house I call larosas. Those are the only two reasons I gave Marion's three stars and not four. Come on Marion's you have great food but its time to change your ways and catch up with the times. I think you would get more business if you started delivering read more

I thought I was eating at Donatos. I am not from Dayton so I had to see what all of the fuss was about. The pizza to me was just ok.

This location is always very fast, accurate & accommodating! The staff are always very friendly & helpful. My business places a large carry-out order monthly from them and they go the extra mile to make it easier for us by labeling everything and helping to carry it to my car! Great customer service! Highly recommend. read more

I had a terrible experience tonight. I have been coming to this Marion's for years and have always had a good experience. Tonight was terrible, first of all they put our pizzas out on the counter and let them get cold as they waited for our streak sandwich to get done. Then when we got the steak sandwich they got the order wrong and I had to take the steak sandwich back. The manager actually asked if he could use the same meat. I looked at him in disbelief and told him no, I said please make it again the way we ordered it. The guy couldn't have been more rude. When the other Manager, the short one, came out to our table with the sandwich my wife complained to him. The Jack ass actually looked at my wife and said "that's your opinion". As I'm writing this I just watched the guy pick stuff off a pizza that they got wrong. Oh my god what has happened to this place? read more
