We ate here for lunch today We had the bruschetta which tasted very good. Our waiter was fantastic and was quick on the refills and friendliness. I had the apple and blue cheese flatbread. The bread was perfect and I was presently surprised at how good it was. My husband had a meatball sub and salad. He said it was good and probably weighed a pound. The only disappointment was drink selection. I'm not a Pepsi fan and they don't have real sweet tea...they are losing easy drink sales by having bad choices. Great deep dish pizza! This is not a quick in and out kind of place but definitely worth the wait. I absolutely love deep dish pizza. Some people think it's a lot of dough but this is not the case! My first time eating at this location. I have taken the frozen pizzas home from here before and have also eaten this pizza in Chicago from the original location and ordered the frozen pizzas off their website and had them shipped to my house multiple times. Each time the pizza tastes a little different and nothing tastes exactly like when eating in Chicago. But that is to be expected. We are not in Chicago. The first thing you should expect when you are dining in is that you will have to wait a long time for your pizza to cook. We waited an hour from the time we ordered our pizza to the time it came out. Which to me, was about right. It just feels like a long time because we are used to eating at other restaurants where it doesn't take as long for your food to come out. The next thing to be aware of is that if you are bringing children there are things to do to keep them busy. They can watch the pizza being made through the kitchen windows and we asked for some dough for them to play with at the table. Having grown up in the Chicagoland area, we've been chomping at the bit to get a table here. Unfortunately, the crowds since opening have delayed our arrive until today. The hostess crew, and Kalyn (our fantastic server) couldn't have been better. Other team members noticed as I was finishing my soda and quickly jumped in to ask if I'd like another. Not to be outdone, another team member noticed my son was finishing his milk and asked him about a refill. At the end the manager came to our table to ensure our dinner went as expected. Wow. The food, you ask? Yeah, tastes just like I was back in downtown Chicago. Give Dayton a Portillo's and life would be perfect. Ordered the Chicago Classic deep dish as well as Meat and More Meat deep dish (pictured). Both are Uh-May-Zun! The Meat and More Meat is my favorite! So cheesy and of course so meaty! Every other restaurant in the immediate vicinity has a wait time at most of an hour. While I understand there is going to be added traffic since they are new, there are no less than 20 other decent restaurants within a 1 mi radius. We took our business elsewhere. The wife and I decided to give Giordano's a try. Tuesday evening, around 7. Prior to tonight we had given it a look, but because of the large number of cars in the lot, went elsewhere. Getting seated tonight was not a problem. Our waitress was good and attentive. The order was taken quickly. We decided on a "thin" crust pizza after finding out that a deep dish would entail a 45 min wait. Perhaps the longer wait would have meant a better tasting pizza. We ordered an appetizer of Cheesy Garlic Bread, along with our pizza. The garlic bread tasted good, but was cold in spots. Our pizza came soon after. There wasn't really anything wrong with it. It had crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings, as a pizza should. Other than that, it seemed very plain, with little taste. Again, perhaps we should have ordered the deep dish to get the full Giordano's experience. All-in-all an underwhelming pizza experience, especially considering the amount of $ our visit entailed. Might try again someday, but honestly I'd rather support local establishments, whose quality I can rely on. read more

The inside has a bar and they have happy hour deals. You will wait a while for the pizza but it will be hot and fresh, as will all the other food you order. So far everything is ok but they said it was going to be 50 minutes for a pizza I'm like really and my daughter ordered a Dali's & they brought her a small side salad instead of the dinner size so she had them exchange it it looked exactly the same size just in a bigger bowl. It actually took 46 minutes for the pizza the pizza wasn't that good to tell you the truth godfathers pizza is better and doesn't cost nearly as much. The young lady that was our waitress she was a little rude to be honest she never checked up on us we had to get her attention to get refills of our drink. I just was not impressed at all. And when we asked the lady why does it take so long for a pizza she could not tell us she said that maybe they didn't cook the pizzas at the right temperature they're cooked at a lower temperature. My suggestion if you're looking for a good pizza go to Godfather's or Joe's pizza and even Donato's. One thing I must warn people with young kids I do not recommend eating here if you have young kids they have inappropriate people working in the front of the house. read more

My family and I had gone to one of the Chicago locations earlier this year and had a horrible experience. We decided we would give it another shot when this location opened up north of us. While this experience was much better than Chicago, we still don't understand the hype. The wedge salad was just a completely "normal" salad...not a wedge at all. We tried to order each of our kids an individual pizza. My kids typically like different toppings than the normal pepperoni. They wouldn't allow any substitutions on a kids pizza. Really? Ridiculous. We had to order our kids, in turn, a small pizza. The pizza my wife and I ordered was good. Not great. For the price, it really leaves a lot to be desired. read more

(I have gotten Kentucky fire from other places and I noticed that they are the same way of just a nice sweet but no spice) Cooked well, however. Ordered a thin crust and almost chocked on the cheese. They should have a medic on hand lol, the pizza was meh. Not bad, but not spectacular, all I could taste was the cheese. So happy to finally have this pizza close by! We picked a weeknight (Monday) to try it and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. We originally were seated in a back room, which is like a party room, but it had no windows, only a garage door (that was closed) which opened into the main dining room. Because it was a little claustrophobic, we got asked to be moved. Was no problem. So, going in, you have to be aware a deep dish pizza takes 45-60 minutes to bake. That is a perfect reason to order an appetizer. The cheese curds are amazing! We had the Chicago classic deep dish and a thin crust make your own. Both were delicious, I especially loved the sausage on the pizza. Such good flavor! We ordered 2 mediums and have enough pizza left for another meal. Kevin our server was great!
