The "perfect" opportunity finally presented itself when a friend and I were planning a catch-up lunch date and looking for a good place to eat, so I suggested The Perfect Pear Bistro. Despite meeting for a late lunch, the Pear was packed. But the restaurant is roomy, and we had no problem getting a seat. My friend and I are both plant-based, so we were super pleased with the separate vegan menu. I had the Autumn Harvest quinoa bowl (delish!), and my friend had the vegan tacos with sweet potato fries as her side. I am very picky about sweet potato fries, but I tried one here, and it was crispy and seasoned perfection. I will not skip out on the sweet potato fries next time! I really appreciate that The Perfect Pear Bistro is locally owned and uses fresh, healthy ingredients. The servers are also very friendly and helpful. I expect this place to become a staple spot for me!

We did wait about 20 minutes, which they did inform us of in the beginning. We did have an issue because when we went to go check on our table at the time we were to be seated, nobody had returned back to the hostess stand for a bit of time, and there were people behind us who still had not been helped. There is no waiting area. Once we were seated, our server was amazing and we got our food and drinks promptly. The food was just okay. The sandwich had too much bread for my liking (I am used to ciabatta being thin and crunchy and this ciabatta was thick and more fluffy). The pasta was amazing, but I wish I would have asked to add a protein.

Price and quality did not match…read more I ordered the pastrami sandwich and immediately noticed some cost cutting choices, like butter flavored spray (can we use real butter) US Foods/Chef's Store sourdough bread, (can we use real sourdough bread) and a microwave sitting next to the griddle (which the griddle looks like it has not been cleaned very often). I didn't think much of it at first, but then I watched the owner heat the pastrami in the microwave before assembling the sandwich. I've never had a deli sandwich prepared that way right in front of me, and it was disappointing. She also pulled out a large bag of Taylor Farms shredded lettuce. I asked for no lettuce, and she joked that "people don't want lettuce anymore." Given the recent news surrounding Taylor Farms, that comment didn't exactly inspire confidence. What really surprised me was that the pastrami was placed in a plastic basket and microwaved. Whether or not it's considered safe, seeing food heated that way wasn't very appetizing. Looking around, there also didn't appear to be any real kitchen equipment for preparing hot sandwiches beyond a microwave. A Blackstone griddle or even a quality countertop oven would have inspired much more confidence in the food, especially considering the owner's Yelp responses emphasizing the quality of their sandwiches. From what I experienced, the preparation didn't match those claims. In the end, we ordered just one pastrami sandwich and one beer, and the total came to about $25, with the sandwich alone costing over $17. For that price, I expected much better ingredients and preparation. Unfortunately, the quality didn't match the cost. We tried to be as nice as possible but we left feeling pretty disappointed and couldn't wait to get out of there.

This location is on the NE corner of Chandler Blvd and the 101, next to the In N' Out Burger. The interior is larger than most locations and has plenty of tables for the lunch rush. The employees greeted me as I walked in and took my order immediately. One employee freshly slice the meats and cheeses and then hands the sandwich off to the next employee who adds the produce and extras. My typical is either the #5 Super Sub or the #13 Italian, and I get it "Mike's Way" which includes lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar and spices (oregano and salt). Besides cold subs, they have hot subs and cheesesteaks which are quite popular. The sandwich is about 7in and you get a good amount of meats and cheese compared to other popular sandwich places. The quality won't compare with a high-end delis, but it's good for the chain sandwich shops. For drinks, they have a Pepsi fountain (boo)...but they also have two Stubborn sodas flavors (yea)! They also have fresh-brewed unsweet tea. Overall, I like this location for their consistent good service and product, with a larger dining area to ensure you don't have to boil in the sun outside.

I have to point out that they have one of the best tasting green tea, and they literally have the best service anyone can ask for. I don't know how she does it, but Ashley brews this green tea perfectly. While most other Paris Baguette locations have the same green tea, they honestly do not taste exactly the same (Phoenix location on Baseline/32nd St is a totally different tea). When Ashley, Kailey, Dania. Richard and Daniel work together, they emit such high, positive and fun energy. They clearly look like they have fun while dealing with so many customers (and some customers are plain mean). These PB employees are so pleasant, efficient and really are an asset to this organization. Love seeing Ashley, Kailey and Dania's smiling face as soon as you walk in, they will definitely greet you.
