Our best friends took us to Ginger Zing (our first time here) today for lunch. My lady and I shared the Orange Chicken lunch which included egg drop soup, fried rice, a spring roll and a cream cheese filled wonton. We also had an order of chicken egg rolls. Our friends ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch that included sweet & sour soup, a spring roll and a cream cheese filled wonton as well. They also ordered Egg Fu Yung as well. The egg drop soup and sweet & sour soups were just ok as were the spring rolls. The Egg Fu Yung was good. The egg rolls and cream cheese filled wontons and fried rice and Mongolian Beef were very good. However, the best of the meal was the Orange Chicken which had a light, crisp batter in a slightly spicy orange sauce. The best my lady and I have ever had. We arrived at 1:30 and there was only one couple present having lunch. There were several take out customers that came in during the hour we were there. Our server was friendly , but the kitchen service was a bit slow (approximately 15 minutes just for the soup) and our food was brought to our table at different intervals which did not allow us to begin eating at the same time. So we shared the food we did have with each other in our party of four. I can only imagine how slammed they'll be when the snow birds return if they're this slow on a quiet day between lunch & supper. The lunch prices were quite reasonable and the portion sizes were on the generous side. We discovered Ginger Zing delivers within a six mile radius which is good news. In the future, we'll either call ahead for take out or have them deliver as they have very limited seating consisting of approximately 7-8 tables. The restaurant was clean and neat and you could see into the kitchen from the dining area. The overall atmosphere is rather plain in this small, but good Asian restaurant with a friendly staff. read more

Ordered on Christmas day. Food was pretty good and affordable. We ordered a kids sesame chicken, ginger beef and broccoli, egg drop soup ( very thick texture) and chicken low mein. All flavors were good. Leftovers were even better. There was a problem ordering through Yelp/grub hub, I never received a confirmation for pickup and called about 30 min after the order was placed to make sure they had it and was ready.. luckily they had it but it was cold when we got it. We loved this spot. We frequently eat here, and get take away food for about 3 years now. Most of their dishes are tasty and not greasy. Good selection too. But with raw shrimps mixed in with cooked food in one of our orders... raw chicken in another order ... crab puff tasting unusually sour... we're just going to dine elsewhere. Unfortunately, the dishes that I ordered (chow mein and peanut chicken) lacked flavor. The chicken even tasted gaimy. I saw mixed reviews on this place, but have not found great Asian food in Phoenix yet, so thought I would try it I ordered chicken chop suey and egg rolls. The outside of the egg roll was fantastic, crisp and not greasy at all. The inside was mostly very tough greens (where they all pull out when you take a bite because you can't bite through them)and very little chicken or flavor. The chop suey was very bland and the majority of the dish was sliced onions. I am going to try 1 more time, because in retrospect, I probably ordered the least flavorful item. read more

I am used to settling for mediocre Chinese food so experiencing the food from Ginger Zing was very pleasant! First off ordering on the website is SUPER EASY. I mean EXTREMELY SUPER EASY. so easy that once I chose a main dish, the next window knew to ask me if I wanted white rice, fried rice, lo mein noodles, etc...all without having to go on a frustrating hunt for side dishes or special requests. Check out was equally as easy. Note that gratuity and delivery fees are automatically added...which was fine with me since I normally add a tip to food delivery orders. One minor suggestion: make sure a lot, apartment or unit number can be written into a delivery address. It wouldn't take mine so I had to call it in. We were given a window of 55-60 minutes for delivery. It arrived in 30 The food was super hot when it arrived and the delivery person was affable and efficient with our meals resting neatly in an open box instead of the customary flimsy white paper bags We really enjoyed each entree ordered. The Lemon chicken was sweet and refreshing; not over or under fried or breaded. The Shrimp Egg Foo Yung had a respectable amount of nice-sized shrimp which were cooked just enough while the eggs were cooked through...which we liked. The Sriracha Chicken Medium spicy made my nose run but didn't obliterate the culinary experience in raging flames. Plus there were plenty of discernible vegetables like broccoli, celery and red and green peppers...not uncooked...not mushy...just right. Special kudos to whoever cooked the lo mein. Not smothered in cooking oil. Not overcooked. Again...just right. This is the 2nd time we've ordered from Ginger Zing and were delighted to discover the order of sugared donuts...on the house! I called to make sure they were aware that they sent them to us (thinking it might have been a mistake). We were told they comp them on orders of $40+. Nice touch! read more

Asian Chinese food that's fresh and fast. This small hole in the wall place is tucked inside the plaza next to an escape room. The interior is a little modern with a few tables to sit. The menu ranges from American well known dishes such as kung pow chicken to more traditional Singapore rice noodles. I usually opt in for more traditional plates. The Singapore rice noodles with bbq pork was served as a really good size portion. It's spicy which I liked. The texture was good and nothing was hard nor chewy. I also got the Asian donuts which I haven't eaten in a long time and at first bite it reminded me of my childhood memories. Overall I had a great experience. I prefer these mom and pop shops over the franchises that serve more non traditional dishes and sometimes even frozen food. read more

This was our go to Chinese in the East Valley but after last night we no longer will be patrons of Ginger Zing. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which was awful. The chicken was hard as a rock, the sauce had two pieces of pineapple rid bits , two peppers and little sauce. Also ordered the Wor won ton soup, one wonton, which was mostly dough. Fried rice was just flat dried crunchy rice. We do not know what happen to our favorite place but it went bad real fast! read more

I was excited to to try their food based on the reviews, but I wasn't really impressed. I ordered 2 main dishes, the lo mein and fried rice. The beef dish tasted mostly of corn starch/flour, so it just left a bad taste in the mouth. The broccoli in the beef dish tasted as if it was rancid prior to cooking because I had to spit it out. The chicken dish was decent not much to complain about. The fried rice and lo mein were absolutely flavorless! We didn't even eat the leftovers because it wasn't good. Great place.. Don't let the fast food appearance fool you. My husband, sister, mother and I came across this place from their great rating and reasonable price and we were very pleasantly surprised! We tried their Mongolian beef, coconut curry thai chicken, fried dumplings, hot and spicy soup and egg u. Wow, both soups were so flavorful and delicious, but if you want the crispy wontons you need to ask for them. Thankfully their flavor made up for us not knowing about having to ask ;) My husband and I both liked the coconut curry thai chicken the best...hard to describe why, but just absolutely delicious, a little spice and a lot of flavor. However, that's not to say the Mongolian beef was any less flavorful. My sister liked the moo goo gai pan mostly for the ginger flavor. The service and staff was so friendly which is always a bonus...sad that these days it's not the norm. Then to top it off, at the end of the meal they surprised us with some fried rolls sprinkled with sugar! I highly recommend them...You will not be disappointed! read more

They only get 3 stars because this was my second time trying Ginger Zing. I have had a horrible time finding a good chinese restaurant since moving to Arizona. My first visit I was excited because the food was good and fresh and had really good flavor. This time it was stale and old tasting. I ordered general Taos beef lunch it was hard and nasty. The rice tasted stale. They probably used leftovers. I get it's probably hard to have waste when you are in the restaurant business but that is not the customers fault!! Eating out is expensive and it is twice the cost of what it takes to make the food so they need to give us fresh ingredients not last nights supposed to be trash ! I have a hard time eating leftovers from home so I definitely don't want to pay for them. Anyway apparently they could have good food if they weren't trying to rip people off by saving a few bucks. read more

This place is AMAZING! We are highly impressed and plan to be repeat customers for as long as we live in the area. Order was ready to go quick as soon as I ordered it, quite a few people were in there for lunch today but my order was still done ASAP and was ready when I Walked in. I loooove how many vegetarian options they have basically everything you can order with chicken or beef, can be made with tofu. Flavor was really nice and tasty I got mandarin tofu and the ginger broccoli tofu, both didn't disappoint. Veggie spring rolls were yummy too. I am really super surprised how this restaurant has so many positive reviews?! Maybe something serious has changed here since all these positive reviews. So ... Friday night I was together with my friend and her family and instead of going out to eat we ordered in, plus a party of 9 is hard to get seated on a Friday. I ordered over the phone and was told it was about a 45 min wait. Not bad for a Friday. Now to give you an idea I ordered a whole grip of food: chicken lettuce wraps, vegetarian egg rolls, chicken fried rice, veggie friend rice, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, ninja beef, tofu curry and some other curry. Plus since I ordered over $35 I got the donuts for free. Well I was excited about a free dessert!!! Food got there on time, contactless delivery no problems. My issue is the food was not good at all. Let's me honest when you have Chinese food it's a hit or miss... this was a miss. Literally on every item I ordered. Instead of boring you with every item one by one I will say: way too salty, tofu was the same on each plate with a different sauce and like 5 sautéed onions and no other veggies, lacked flavor, and overall wasn't even worth eating. Our dear friends found this little gem this week and insisted we dine with them this evening. First impression was of a small exceedingly clean venue. This mom and pop venue certainly exceeded our expectations. Appetizers consisted of tasty spring rolls and vegetable lettuce wraps. We ordered eight dishes to share (and take home)! Every dish was prepared to perfection. Chicken and beef dishes were both lean and tender. All vegetables were simply delish! Egg Foo young was authentic and the gravy was the best. I have been to this place many times. They do have really good Asian fusion plates, besides the typical ones. They also have lunch specials, which we enjoyed on our last visit, which is more than enough food to satisfy lunch hunger pangs. It is not usually our first choice when we go out to eat, but they do have really delicious food. The service is friendly and fast, and the place is clean and not noisy (we value the fact that we can speak and listen to each other -my husband and I- when we eat). Flavors and texture that command attention. Preparation which encourages re-evaluation of one's mindset(mine). Not being a huge "sauce" guy, I was pleased to find my dish selection(peanut, broccoli, and tofu) annointed by the application of sauce. Overall, it clung to it's intended area of consideration and not a thin, runny, affair that pools in the base of a plate. Each dish amongst our group arrived hot and visually pleasing. Ginger Zing appears to become a staple with many more things to try. Let me start off by saying I used to absolutely love this place. I have been a loyal customer for over a year but after today I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK. I work in the same plaza this place is located in and ive ALWAYS had my ordered delivered. Today I call and they say they are unable to deliver because I have to have a minimum $20 order total. After I ask if that's a new rule they say. "No, that's always been a thing" so I then tell them to cancel my order as I am unable to pickup. 5 min later the delivery guy shows up to my work and says "here's your order". I proceeded to tell him I had canceled the order and he says "well your food is already made are you paying cash?" Then he started scolding me and telling me he was to busy to come and deliver and he's already here with my food and that I basically had to pay him. Please keep in mind the lobby at my job was full of people and I then told him he could not be yelling in here and that he could take his food and have a good day.
