When you are trying to beat the line at Franks down the street, swing on over to Gil's. This place has been cranking out pies for 60+ years. Delicious pizza and great customer service.

SUCH A HUGE FAN OF GIL'S PIZZAS! This local pie shop has been around since 1958, and I believe it! Their menu is very simple and straightforward - they have Tomato & Cheese Pizza, the House Special, and create-your-own with toppings that include pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, black olives, sweet peppers, meat sauce, banana hots, mushrooms, Canadian bacon, anchovies, and pineapple, with even the option to get 'double dough' or adding extra cheese. We ordered their Tomato & Cheese Pizza - this is their signature 12-inch 'square-ish' pie; this was sooo cheesy and yummy! The crust was housemade, and you can really tell - not too thick or too thin - a perfect complement and ratio to the fresh toppings! Note that each and every pie is made-to-order, so we received ours, literally, right out of the oven so it was piping hot! MMM! There was only one employee in there, and he was friendly and kind - we waited for about 15-20 minutes for ours, so not too bad! This is strictly a carry-out type of place, so you can call ahead or order in person. Can't wait to return and get another fix of Gil's! Street parking is available around the area. +delicious pizza! +made-to-order +carry-out only +friendly staff +street parking available

    crust to thin

Best thing this pizza has going for it, is it's robust sauce with great flavor. Everything else is very disappointing. I don't know how this gets a 4.5 or higher rating. Crust is extremely thin, barely there you can't bend it, or hold it. you pretty much have to eat it with a fork, and the crust is hollow so it breaks apart like a cracker.

I really enjoy the pepperoni cheese pizza. This is "Chuck E Cheese" style pizza, but in a good way. The crust is oddly white and powdery. And the crust is thin and non-dominating. However, the cheese is just funky/astringent enough while also having a favorable body and chew. The sauce is fresh. And the crust doesn't not dominate the experience.

Long-time customer. Still the same delicious pizza. It's not the equivalent of a $25 artisan wood-fired pizza, but still a treat.

This is pretty mediocre pizza. It's not bad, it's just not good. Basic NY style stuff.

Great pizza! Tastes like it's homemade and from scratch from sauce to toppings and dough. Would definitely come again!

I was hoping to park on the street to run in but ended up driving around for 10+ minutes before ending up in the lot. Turns out my parking was free so it worked out just fine. For the food, I got the cheese pizza with prosciutto and the mango habanero wings. The pizza was fantastic, and I really liked that you can order a half portion which was great for 2 people. The crust was crispy, and the cheese and sauce were great, and it was packed with prosciutto. The wings were also great, I loved the sauce and the sesame seeds on some of them which was a fun twist.

Parking anywhere downtown especially the inner harbor on the street is very limited; and the parking garages are insane at times. I found parking and made way to this establishment at the Power Plant. There was a Flippino festival going on at Power Plant as well. When we entered the establishment, we were immediately seated. Seating is only at high tops or the bar. We started off with a couple drinks, old bay wings and cheesesteak sliders. The drinks were ok, not 5 star rating. The cheesesteak sliders were okay as well. We ordered Old bay fries which came out great. After digesting the wings, sliders and fries we ordered the Peppers and Onions pizza with added spinach. The pizza came out very light. Ive had this pizza previously and it was toasted and not doughy. There was very little cheese. The pizza disappointed. So after all, I was very disappointed with the choice of this establishment today. Absolutely nothing but the friendly attentive staff was a plus. The staff were beyond attentive. It could be a bad day but definitely not good since I havent been here in about 3 plus years. The prices has increased tremendously as well. I wouldnt say not to go but based on today, I would be skeptical to return again for myself in the future.

Also ordered a Caesar salad which unfortunately did not come (again, the delivery had other issues so I don't think it was the fault of the restaurant). My bf loved the cheese ravioli. He thought the filling was tasty and enjoyed the sauce. Their red sauce is a more chunky sauce with onions which I did not taste because I'm not a fan, but he would get it again. I'm still looking for a smooth sauce for some chicken parm, but no worries since the menu here has plenty of different sauce options! I enjoyed the chicken francese. The chicken was very tender and it was a generous portion. I felt it could have used a bit more flavor, but the sauce was a nice consistency and the linguine was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the complimentary rolls that came with the meal. Overall, I enjoyed this spot and will try more items in the future!

The space itself is small but homey, which I liked. It's a little bit of a tight fit for everyone in there but it works. The service overall was great. The chef came over and greeted us, and even checked in later, and we had a great conversation with their somm. The food was fantastic! The pasta's and pizzas were both unique and delightful. We split a ceasar salad, meatballs, the greek pizza, a sausage pizza, and two speciality pastas- a cacio e pere (pear), and another one that I can't pronounce in italian but was a very thin lasagna like noodle with meats/spices inside. We also split one of their desserts, which i really liked. Shout out to the hazelnut gelato which was particularly delicious. I will absolutely return!

There was a curtain, but it was pulled back. The market stuff is still there and the outside of the building is pretty dark. I wish they had played up the speakeasy part more, but they made up for it in service, food, and drink. We were seated quickly. There were only a few tables left and we felt lucky to grab one. Our waiter came quickly and we immediately ordered the drink special, a butternut squash old fashioned. It was amazing and the bartender came out and told us how he made it. I volunteered to be taster for future creations. I don't know if he will take me up on it. We ordered the Plum and Burrata Salad, Fristo misto, and a Goat pizza. The salad was so good. I could have had it as a meal. It had a generous amount of plums, barrata and prosciutto. The pizza had a perfect hand tossed crust. The toppings were also great. I should have asked for some red pepper flakes but that was my fault. The Frito misto was not my favorite. The breading seemed fresh which is good. I liked the shrimp better than the calamari. We didn't get to try dessert because we were about to explode. I can't wait to go back and explore more on the menu.
