This was my first time trying Vito's Express and since I tried the Vitos in St. Thomas Shopping Ctr and enjoyed it I decided to give the Express a try. I thought the experience would be just as good. I called in my order for a small cheese pizza and was told it would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. When I arrived, I was greeted and even exchange friendly banter with the three employees there, one of which I believe was the owner. The store was clean and with limited seating inside and some outside seating. Before I left, I opened the box and looked at my pizza and on the surface it was beautiful. When I got home and took a bite of the pizza it tasted burnt. I flipped it over , and indeed it was burnt. I called the store and explained what happened. I told them the flavor was good with the exception of the burnt crust. I was told by I believe the owner to bring it back in. I asked if they could make another one and he said yes and asked if I would like it less done. I told him yes, and proceeded to come in with the pizza. When I got there, I felt ambushed by the three who had originally greeted me so pleasantly. The owner asked me to delete the videos that I had taken of the store. The other employee the Cook, I believe Told me that I was just trying to be a troublemaker and that the pizza was not burnt it was cooked. In fact as soon as I walked in the store, he started taking videos of me. I flipped the pizza over and showed him that it indeed was overdone. He flipped over a couple slices of other pizzas and said it's cooked not burnt! Well, most of the pieces he flipped over were overdone in my opinion, but one of them was Brown and I indicated that's the way I would like my pizza could you cook it again? He said he was not cooking it and started taking continued taking videos of me. He said I was just trying to bring down the business. I explained that is not my intent that I just wanted the pizza redone and I will be on my merry way. I post plenty of reviews and my intention is never to post a negative review unless the business has earned it. This business has earned my bad review because of their service and their ambush . I just wanted a pizza do over, but instead I was met with anger and told never to come in their store again. If you order out enough eventually, you will have a Food that doesn't meet your expectations and has to go back. This is the first time that I have ever had a business not try to make good and banned me from coming back. I ordered the 14" calzone with sausage. Upon arriving home and began consuming the calzone, I noticed that there was no sausage in the first few bites. I decided to cut it open and see where the sausage was located. The sausage was slightly bigger than a quarter,and very few pieces scattered around the calzone. I opted to have the sauce on the side (since i had wings from the BelAir location where the wings were fried hard) These wings are more baked and then put under a boiler. They were crispy on the outside which I like and moist juicy chicken meat under. Most places back their wings which makes the whole wing soggy yuuuuuuuck! It tasted like they baked it in the bbq sauce to give it flavor then turned it up to give that crunch crispy exterior which I definitely appreciated. The sauce along with the Blue Cheese made this meal a winner. The chunks of cheese in almost every scoop of a LARGE side container made me happy. As a wing dipper I like to dip almost every part of the wing in the Blue cheese but most places give you such a small container. You guys are the real MVP for looking out for wing dippers me lol. All in all a cool place to get some wings and I saw some subs, calzones and pizza I would like to try. You can tell the way they move that dough behind the counter and Italian accents your gonna get a good mix of authentic Italian food. Lately i have been going to the Vito's on Reisterstown road bc I'm not sure if this location is under new management or what (i haven't seen any of the workers that used to work there when i was a regular). We have been going to Vito's for years. Some days are better than others. We ordered a Sicilian Pizza, thought we'd try something new. No one felt like cooking, it was late. Picked it up and when we all sat down together each of us (4) took a couple of bites and decided that this was the worst pizza we had ever had. We called to complain about the taste and asked for them to replace it with a regular pie. They refused and said we would have to pay for the pie. I understand things are hard for restaurants during this COVID time. They are difficult for all of us. They should have stood behind their product and done the right thing. We will never go to Vito's again after 20 years. Not how a restaurant should treat a customer. Very disappointing. First bad review we have ever written. Not our way. I have been coming to Vito's for years and it is always super fast to get food and the people that work there are always friendly! My favorite thing is their subs - they are delicious and their greek salad is also yummy. I like how much variety they have in their pizzas and they are pretty huge slices. I used to come here all the time in my younger years. I refused to ever go back after my last visit. Let me tell you that when I am served frozen food that I can buy at the grocery store and repeatedly told that it is homemade, I won't give my business to a place that does that.
