Dining in or Carry Out you can't be disappointed with Pizza John's. Amazing how they have grown inside and out. Ample space for dining in and ample space for parking. The Pizza is Neapolitan style and recently reviewed by Dave Portnoy which you can find on YouTube. What it lacks in carriage it more than makes up in taste. The pepperoni and also the meat sauce pizzas are my two favorites. They are both my favorites with a pizza with plentiful meats and the pepperoni pizza has the thinest most crispy pepperoni ever. An extensive menu with delicious subs with many that I have tried such as... pizza subs, meatball subs, cold cut, Italian subs toasted, the cheesteak subs are ohhh so delicious. Don't forget to order a fresh made milkshake also a specialty too.. Always good service and take a peak at the kitchen at work easily visible when waiting for food and they work like a fine machine. This place has shown up on my FYP for National Pizza Day as the best so I had to stop over and give it a try. For Valentine's Day it was packed with people as expected but thank God for carry out. The online ordering process was super easy through toast however, they had a couple options for crusts that I've never seen before. As a result I went with the middle option. First time at a Pizza John's. I heard it was amazing pizza so I had to try it. Right away when you enter the establishment it was crazy busy. You order at one of the cashiers whether dining in or taking out. We ordered the works pizza size small which is good size 12" and an order of breaded mushrooms. The setup of the place is a well oiled pizza making machine. It may seem like madness but they get out the food in record time. The pizza looked good and the ingredients are fresh and very flavorful. My only complaint is with the crust. It had no flavor and it tasted like a cracker. It was too hard for my liking. They may have different crusts I'll have to look into that the next time I go. I've been eyeing this location for a while and finally stopped in. I purchased a few items by ordering online to pick up: 3 slices of pizza, fries, and 2 crab cake sandwiches. All the food was delicious. Best quick lunch option. This is definitely a place to bring our parents, who prefer the simpler the simpler things. Inside is cafeteria style, which I think I like. Think high school meets a McDonald's or Burger King, but with Italian dishes. Ample seating and the staff at the counter were very kind. We went on a Friday night & the parking lot was almost full. But no worries the line to order for in-house eating was short. Ordered a chef's salad, meat lovers pizza & 2 beers. Beers & salad were given to us almost immediately after we order. We found a table & started our salad while waiting for the pizza. After about 10 minutes pizza was ready & it was huge! I should've ordered the smaller size since this was our first experience here at Pizza John's. Well the salad was so -so, typical of a lot of restaurants that don't toss their salads & it's hard to toss at the table with plastic-ware. I was excited to try the pizza but by my tastes it was a let down. It really didn't have any flavor except the green bell peppers & I should've asked for no bell peppers. And sadly not enough cheese. Self-serve kiosks are utilized for placing orders. I ordered ahead on the Toast app and my order was ready by the estimated pickup time. Crew members were moving nonstop to get orders out. My pizza was delivered piping hot with a crispy crust and fresh toppings. Absolutely no complaints. The restaurant is clean and well organized. Lots of free parking is available. This is our first visit, and there were plenty of parking spaces available. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we liked the spacious, bright, and clean interior. After finding our seats, we went to the counter to place our order. I don't like overly sour flavors, and the pizza here has plenty of cheese and is delightfully sweet. The pizza sauce isn't too sour, but you can still taste the freshness of the tomatoes. The kids were also very satisfied. My partner ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which was generous in portion size and tasted very authentic. He really enjoyed it. One of the local pizza spots that we wish we could visit more often! This place gets super busy so plan to wait a little bit for your food. If you're new, the "line" can seem a bit overwhelming, just feel free to ask if people are waiting to order or for their food. People tend to crowd the area and makes it a bit confusing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but depending on the time of day, you may be left without a table or having to wait around for one to open up. Don't be shy, grab it when you can and ask one of the staff working in the area to clean it off for you. If you have leftovers, you can grab your own boxes and plates over by the trash can area. If you don't know just ask and sometimes one of the friendly staff members may even just bring one for you! This time we went, we got the sausage pizza and DID NOT disappoint!! We also got the cheesesteak and the meat tasted so much more drier than ever before, so it was not as enjoyable. Also, if you order anything with mushroom, make sure to specify FRESH. IYKYK This place is amazing. If you're reading this because you've never tried it, you need to stop in for a pizza. I would recommend you have your first experience here in the restaurant, as there really isn't anything else like it in the area. Get either cheese or pepperoni... If you really want to try other toppings, get a second pizza. Your first experience should be with a traditional cheese or pepperoni slice. The fried mushrooms are also amazing. Once you've tried the sit down restaurant, you can graduate to take out. If you live close enough and will eat the pizza right when you get home, then simply order what you want and enjoy an amazing pizza at home. If you want to buy ahead of time, they have parbaked cheese and pepperoni pizzas that you can refrigerate for up to five days or put in the freezer to keep for longer. The heat up really well in the oven, but it's not Exactly the same as getting a pizza cooked in the commercial grade ovens of the restaurant. read more

As you may have guessed, this place isn't fancy and it's not in a fancy neighborhood. I've only been in the more self-serve part, and what you do is you order at the counter--which can be a tad overwhelming--take a seat and wait for your number to be called. It's run efficiently, and the there's everything you need to make the pizza yours at the table: pepper flakes, oregano, parm, and garlic salt. Happily, they serve pizza by the slice--not the easiest thing to find--and of course different sizes of pies. And, this place feels a bit like a throwback to the days of the "pizza parlor," where you sit comfortably in a booth with a pitcher or soda or beer. Pizza John's is definitely a vibe as far as nostalgic pizzeria feels go. The pizzas are clearly made with fresh ingredients, even made in-house I believe. The other food options that we have tried are really good! We've enjoyed their salads and fries, their spaghetti is even pretty good, which we are finding to be rarer than you'd think. All that being said, the pizza is kind of heavy and sometimes greasy, so it doesn't fit our pizza preferences, but we definitely like it plenty enough to go back over and over for the ambiance, the great service and pretty good pizza with reliable other entrees. read more

Interesting take on the old school neighborhood pizza joint. We went in for lunch based on a Roadside America recommendation regarding the character statue out front. LOTS of parking in a private lot. The restaurant was quite busy, but seemed to be running efficiently. Pizza and drinks were ordered at the counter, and the staff at the counter were very friendly and helpful (I was a bit lost with the experience, and needed some assistance). The pizza came out in a reasonable amount of time, and was delicious. Very good for this type of pie. The staff around the restaurant was helpful as well. When you pull up to the building, you are greeted by the classic American Italian restaurant decor, complete with the huge Pizza John statue standing front and center at the driveway entrance. Parking at Pizza Johns is great, as they have numerous parking spots running the length of both sides of the restaurant as well as additional parking in the rear. There are several entrances to the restaurant, but once inside it is very easy to navigate to the ordering counter. Regardless if you are dining in or out, you must order at the counter and pickup your order at the right side of the registers. Again, Pizza Johns has evolved to their local demand, so it's not uncommon to see 4-5 registers ready to take orders to keep the line rolling. If dining in, you will see that the inside is broken up into several dining rooms, most of which are booth seating. These retro red vinyl red booths are oversized and can easily fit 4-6 hungry guests. In the farthest adjacent dining room, there are several 4 tops that can be pushed together for larger groups upon request. Seating is first come first serve, so it's wise to divide and conquer by having one person wait in line to order and another to be scouting out an open table. Service: 5/5. The staff at Pizza Johns have always been extremely friendly, helpful and professional during my several visits. When placing both phone and in person orders, the counter workers are always clear and concise, ensuring our order is correct. When dining in, the dining room attendants do a great job at keeping tables bused and check up on us periodically. This is above and beyond considering they are not true waiters that are being tipped. Food: 5/5. Growing up in the area, I have dined at Pizza Johns on dozens of occasions over the years. From pizza in highschool to gnocchi in my 30s, I never had an item that wasn't delicious. However, there are a few items I find myself ordering time and time again due to their tasty excellence. The first item, which has also gained a cult following is the Pizza Johns pepperoni pizza. The pizza has a slightly spicy tomato sauce that plays nicely with the generous amounts of cheese. The signature Pizza Johns crust has a braided rope-like pattern that has the right amount of crunch. All of these components make for a superlative pie, however the Pizza John pepperoni's take it to the next level. They use tiny, thin cut ronis that crisp up in the oven to form delectable little grease cups that crunch upon chewing. Truly a topping that elevates the pizza to the next level. Moving away from pizza, Pizza Johns is also known for their best in class subs. Starting with in house fresh baked rolls, all subs are overstuffed and constructed with care so each bite is perfect. Of the entire sub menu, the standouts happen to be the cheesesteaks and the meatball sub. The cheesesteaks use fresh shaved ribeye and are served overflowing with tender, paper thin meat. For the meatball sub, they use only the heels of their sub rolls and bore out the centers in order to insert the meatballs, cheese and sauce directly in the center. We ordered a couple of pizzas. 2 Pepp/ Sausage pizzas-one with onions. Good balance of crust, cheese with generous toppings. Some of the Pepperoni looked to be spicy cup and that along with their sausage were enjoyed. Extensive menu with subs, pasta & wings.
