Mike, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable. Before beginning the new installation, he took the time to identify for me all the old and unmarked water and electrical lines in the area. if there was a. better way to do something, he discussed it with me. And, when he and his worker came with the new equipment, they had it all installed in a day. The end result is so much better than what was there before. Lights, slide, jets, all work great. Best of all, I can now operate the pump, heater, timers, etc, from my phone and the app is so easy to understand. I cannot begin to praise this job and how happy I am with it enough. To know how we got here, we have to know how it started, so I bought my house under the impression I had a working pool. 5 days after I moved in, the pool pump died and most of the water leaked out through cracks I was unaware of. It was devastating! I got some quotes to fix it, and that was really not in my budget. Fast forward 8 years, my homeowners insurance decided to drop me and no one would pick me up until I fixed the pool. I wasn't ready for the cost, but I didn't really have a choice if I wanted to continue to be able to insure the biggest purchase I ever made (my house) Now about this pool, it's a real piece of garbage, I would come to find out from the neighbor, it was home made had no plumbing, and was not plumbed correctly. This was like all my worst fears coming true. (Literally at times sick to my stomach about it) Sleepless nights, crying, telling my wife "I don't know what we're going to do." Then Antonio came by, He seemed confident and I really liked something about his character, he didn't say a lot but I believed him and ultimately went with North Star to fix my pool. It was AMAZING the way they took a piece of crap and turned it into a diamond. I have never had service so good. I mean if you understood, this was literally a dream I thought was never going to come true that I had all but given up on. The amount of work and the quality of this job was first class second to none. I cannot praise North Star pools enough. I researched them beforehand and I even read all their one star reviews (to see what I was getting myself into right?) I mean, those reviewers were tire kickers and if you clicked them and read their other reviews they have a history of giving everyone bad reviews. So I didn't find them credible against all the other good ones. I mean it you will see for yourself as I did. Again, let me reiterate, the communication is not their strong suit and if you expect that you will probably be disappointed, but if you sign on with them, shut up, and let them do what they do, they will produce the most stunning results you could ever imagine. I am beyond grateful to Antonio and North Star Pools for the amazing quality job they did. Don't believe me? See the pics for yourself. Not only is this the most worthless pool contractor in the greater Sacramento area, he is also perhaps the least professional person I have ever dealt with in my life. I can't believe the 4.9 stars he has on Yelp. They must either be fake reviews or he likely bribes people to write them. We needed someone to replace the tiles and plaster on our wading pool. His terrible, slow and disjointed communication from the start should have been the first red flag. Finally we manage to schedule a date to remove the old tile and plaster. His team shows up late, removes the plaster and tiles, and leaves without telling me. Now the fun part....they never came back! I called and texted for 4 days with no response. When I finally texted back to say that I assumed they had abandoned the job, he texts back in 5 minutes saying that "his phone had been broken." As an added bonus, his incompetent crew damaged the structure of the pool by jack hammering the old plaster off. Now I get to pay the new contractor extra to repair that before I finally get the new plaster on. We just finished a two year restoration on our 1961 Mid Century home, including the pool. The…read morenewer, 1 year old plaster finish (installed by another company) was already looking aged and a lot of maintenance due to local well water. Our pool is a unique design-shape, over 30,000 gallons and 12 feet deep. It's located within an exterior courtyard in the middle of our home. Randy met with us and answered all our questions pertaining to a fiberglass finish; easier care and less chance of staining compared to plaster. He made us feel comfortable with the upcoming process, helped with tile resources, and was accurate on the length of time they would need to complete the job. He also spent extra time researching water truck companies for filling the pool. The team working on the pool was terrific!!! Ramon, the supervisor worked along side his team, and all team members were professional, courteous, and always cleaned up at the end of each day. The end result is beautiful. We could not be more pleased. I will follow-up on how the fiberglass does over time;)

We worked with Mike during the construction portion, then transferred over to Chandler for all service issues. Our Salt Chlorinator started to malfunction just outside of our warranty. Chandler scheduled a service call the same week and was able to talk with the manufacturer to have our salt chlorinator replaced fairly quickly once the part was available. Any service issues or questions that come up, Chandler is quick to respond. Chandler also follow ups after the service was completed to verify the work was completed and is working properly.

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THIS COMPANY. Let's start with the basics: every single time I call, they act like my account is part of some secret witness protection program. They can never find it. Not once. Not quickly. Not without me repeating the same information like I'm reading lines in a hostage video. Now onto the disaster that pushed me over the edge. We had a pool leak. Pool Time recommended Leak detection, they came out, pointed to a spot I already knew wasn't the issue, but whatever--Pool Time took their sweet time (about two weeks) to show up. When they finally did, they dug a 4x4 crater in my yard next to the pool like they were searching for buried treasure. As you can tell from the pictures, they also used an old table I had in a trash pile along with my ladder to cover the freaking hole. Knowing damn good and well that I have a dog. Shockingly, there was no leak there. Leak detection returned, admitted their mistake, sent corrected paperwork... and Pool Time? Radio silence. Absolute crickets. No call. No scheduling. No urgency. No accountability. Just a giant hole sitting there like modern art. I've called multiple times. Left messages. Followed up. And every single time, they STILL can't find my address or contract. It's like dealing with customer service powered by a Magic 8 Ball. Meanwhile, my pool is turning green--because someone, for reasons unknown to humanity, turned off the pumps during the hottest week of the year. So now I have a swamp, a crater, and a company that apparently doesn't believe in returning calls. Their customer service isn't just bad--it's nonexistent. It's a void. A black hole where competence goes to die. If you value your sanity, your time, your money, or the color blue in your pool, stay far, far away.
