There…read moreare times when they do not have the prescriptions we need but an order is placed and they normally have it within 48 hours. I think it's unrealistic to think that a pharmacy will have every drug ever made. Could you imagine how big that place would have to be? It's easy to call them before your prescriber sends the prescription to inquire if they have the drug or not. If you're willing to wait fabulous - if you need it immediate then keep on trekking. All of the employees are kind. The hours are posted online, on the Safeway website and to the left of the pharmacy registers. If you need a prescription urgently it always helps to speak to a "live" pharmacy person. Do I recommend this Pharmacy? Heck ya!

I have been using this pharmacy for many years and never had a single issue. Then I met the pharmacist Mandicia. Safeway switched their policy on the text notifications where you can no longer see which medications are being filled. Very frustrating when you take nine medications! All I want is to be able to pick up my medicine once or twice (I get it's difficult with that many meds) a month. I went to pick up my medication and noticed that one was missing. I inquired and was told it would not be ready for several days and that didn't make any sense to me. I went home and the bottle clearly had the same date as the others, so I called to get some clarification. From the gate Mandicia was rude. Beyond rude. She wouldn't let me get a word in, had a very nasty attitude and refused to believe me. I understand that the medication is a controlled substance (an anxiety med I've been taking for about 15 years), but there is no reason why I should've been spoken to like I was "drug seeking". All I wanted was clarification. I waited three more days until the text notification said it was ready. Unfortunately, Mandicia was there and not Mavis. Immediately she started with the same exact attitude. Same medication- different issue this time. Once again she wouldn't let me talk, and she refused to answer my question. I was so frustrated that I asked for her name- I couldn't see her name tag. She refused to even tell me what her name was! She comes out of her booth and starts talking to the customer waiting in line behind me while I'm still standing there trying to pay. Mind you- this entire transaction was only two minutes, so it wasn't like I was taking up a bunch of her time. I'm at my wits end! There's no way I should've been spoken to that once let alone twice. I get people have bad days, but leave the attitude at home. I get it's a controlled substance, but not everyone is trying to pull a fast one. In fact- I was trying to get less pills so my medication will now be all ready on the same day. Now I'm torn between supporting Mavis and avoiding Mandicia like the plague.

Best of all, I've had two occasions when I needed a prescription that day (which needed to be ordered), and the pharmacist actually called several competing drugstores to find it for me. Who else does that???? Friendly, knowledgeable and they really care. This is a winner for me. It really doesn't get any better than this professional, personalized service. Good luck finding this at CVS or Rite Aid. They even give Shingles and Flu shots!

There were a lot of insurance issues when my son first started requiring these very expensive medications. They stayed on the phone literally for over an hour getting everything situated for me. I often call in the refill at the last moment and they are somehow able to get them ready for me. Many times they have stayed open late for me to pick up prescriptions since I work so far away. I will continue to utilize them for all my pharmaceutical needs.

I spoke with my doctor and he sent a different prescription. The Pharmacy that my doctor sent my prescription to did not have it. I called around and found "Accokeek Drug and Health Care Inc". I asked my doctor to send the prescription to them. I did not realized that they were closed Sunday. On Monday morning (May 6th) my father called to check the status on my prescription (NOTE: He was going to pick it up for me because I can't drive due to my surgery). The pharmacist said I would have to wait until May 9th for him to fill the prescription. I called my health insurance company because I thought that may have been the issue. The insurance company called the pharmacy and patch me in with the pharmacist. The pharmacist (I believe his name was Mark or Mike) said he was not comfortable filling my prescription because he noticed that I had a prescription filled on Friday. I advised him that I did and the medicine was not working; that's why the doctor prescribed something else. He then asked "where is that medicine at" and I told him I have it here with me at home. The pharmacist said in order to fill the new prescription. I will need to bring him my old prescription (the medicine) NOTE: I did not purchase this prescription from this pharmacy. I was puzzled. I felt as though he was trying to say I'm addicted or misusing my prescription. I have NEVER use drugs. I have never felt so insulted and disrespected my entire life. Luckily my doctor was able to send it to a reliable pharmacy. It is very dangerous when the pharmacist wants to play doctor. I will never send my prescriptions or refer this pharmacy to anyone!
