A true gem in downtown Phoenix, hidden in plain sight! I first discovered Giant Coffee on my way to the Burton Barr Library but noticed the open window and outdoor seating. Weeks later on a Saturday afternoon, I finally made the pilgrimage only to discover one of my new favorite coffee shops in Phoenix! There is limited curbside parking right out front (which I fortunately snagged without paying) and no parking lot I could see, but ample surrounding street parking nearby, including next to the librar,y less than a block away. I opted for the "Fan Fave" (on the small chalkboard to the left of the register that also lists available syrup,s including pumpkin spice, vanilla, honey, mocha, brown sugar, rose,and mint) "Brown Sugar + Vanilla + Cinnamon Latte". They offer 12oz and 16oz, and I opted for iced with light ice in a 16oz, which came out to $6.55 after tax! WOW! Given all the different flavors in this specialty drink, I was fully expecting to pay about ~$8 and round up to $10 with tip, like I usually do. My drink was delicious! From the perspective of a sweet tooth, I thought the brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon were an amazing combination, in a latte that did its job of giving me the energy boost I needed. I found the cinnamon to be a bit overpowering, but it gave the drink another dimension, which I appreciated. The ambiance and interior were so serene. They leave the front window open with seating, acting like a porch, and allowing the cool autumn air in. The soft sunlight prior to sunset also peaked through in between the nearby buildings. There is ample seating, with ample wall charging, and free wifi without a password. I found the elevated booths with high single/double tables to be super unique and not something I've ever seen at a coffee shop before. Overall, I love this coffee shop to death. My drink wasn't my favorite latte I've ever had, but it was definitely delicious and satisfying, especially for the price. We live within walking distance of this coffee place and started coming here during the pandemic. It's a LOVELY space and would be a great meeting spot with friends as it's usually pretty quiet. Parking is on the street and seems pretty open out front because the surrounding buildings are mostly empty. I was not a fan of their iced tea in 2021-2022 - it was too bitter. But we revisited it this year and it's gotten so much better! Now it's my go-to and also the closest place for me. Price is equivalent to Starbucks. Their baked goods are also better than I remember them - some are vegan and gluten free but don't taste like it. They also have breakfast burritos and boiled eggs if you want something more substantial. My kids LOVE their wide selection of Fanta sodas in glass bottles, and they have other cold drinks if you're not into coffee/tea. Our out of town friend bought coffee beans here as well and loved the hot coffee he got in the shop. My only issue is that the non-coffee drinks are pretty expensive - $4 for a soda is rough. It's now a regular stop for us, so glad they changed the iced tea :) read more

I visited this coffee shop while I was out of town and working from home (WFH) here. It's very quiet, with plenty of space to work either alone or with friends. The shop is tucked away in a cozy spot that many people might miss while driving by. One of my favorite features is that the windows open, allowing you to sit inside while still enjoying a nice Arizona breeze, especially during the pleasant spring season. I ordered a chai tea but forgot to ask for a pump of vanilla. It wasn't my favorite, as I prefer a sweeter chai. Next time I visit, I'll be sure to ask for vanilla syrup. All in all, I absolutely LOVED this spot and will definitely be back! read more

I visited on a Sunday morning, and it was fairly quiet with only a few people there. There's street parking conveniently located right in front. The barista who helped me was friendly and quick to greet us. I tried the brown sugar cinnamon latte, and it was delicious--perfectly balanced and not too sweet. If you're a fan of cinnamon, I highly recommend it. I also had the maple matcha latte, which had just a hint of sweetness. While I would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor, it was still enjoyable. The interior is super cute, making it a great spot for studying or catching up with friends. read more

a pleasant coffee shop right across the phoenix art museum. the interior is modern, open and airy, with lots of seating. it was relatively empty for a saturday afternoon, with what seemed to be only one staff member holding it down - and she was very nice and got my drink to me very quickly! i got the honey vanilla latte, with oatmilk and it was pretty good! the flavor of the syrups stood out, but i think the oatmilk they used was a little watery for my taste. prices definitely reflect the vibe of the shop and location. i got two pastries to go: the cinnamon coffee muffin/cupcake and the double chocolate brownie. my boyfriend and i did not love the brownie, i think it was a little hard for our liking and lacked sweetness. the muffin was very moist though, and had just the right sweetness. i don't know if i would come back on my own, but i might pass by if i'm in the area! read more

The bar-style seating is really unique and the whole place in general really cute. I went on a Sunday at noon and it wasn't busy but it started picking up around 1:30. They had free Wi-Fi and it was a great place to get some work done. I parked in the back lot, which was pretty ample but I think there's also parking in the front. The barista was also really nice and answered any questions I had. I didn't get her name but she was a blonde. I ordered an iced single-origin mocha and it was about $6.00, which is pretty typical for the coffee shops in the area. read more

Before heading out of Phoenix, I decided to stop by this coffee shop for a good cup of joe. After navigating to this area, I found parking easy to find. This was probably because it was early on a Sunday, so most people were either at church or hung over. The coffee shop was small, but popular. There were people working on their laptops, and others chatting away with friends. I got lucky, and came in when there was no line. After perusing their menu, I decided to stick with the cold brew. The barista added some almond milk for some flavor, which was decent with my drink. I also got a raspberry bar. And even though I don't normally get pastries, I can say that bar was pretty good. After getting my order, I made my way back to my car, and begun my 6-hour journey back home. Their cold brew kept me wired the whole way, which was perfect. Took a second but was able to find this spot next to CVS. I grabbed a cold brew. Didn't try any of the pastries but they looked decent. The highlight was the barista from what I can gather is part of the owning family. She was working on holiday decorating. Phoenix has a great coffee shop scene & I'm glad to check this one off the list but it didn't quite do it for me. Ask for the key to use the bathroom. You can either pay for the metered parking in front or do street parking & walk a little. I opted to sit at their bar-style tables which were cute but the leather/vinyl on their seats are cracked so if you're wearing shorts it scratches you & gets uncomfortable. So I thoroughly enjoyed giant coffee. Actually went there to find a place to work and to get some things done, and I walked in it was surprised the fact that it was really cool and chill and everybody was super friendly and we're really communicative and a coffee bar. Have some really good conversations. The family who owned it was super duper nice! Even had a conversation outside of ordering for like 15 minutes just about other things in the area. I had the black tea and it was good, I mean it's tea lol but it was brewed very well. The spaces that they had or enough for me to go ahead and plug in and stretch out to get some work done as well so the facilities were good too. All the way around, really good spot to go to for people watching and people talking and for business. read more

Cute little place near the Phoenix Art Museum. It's very open, with high top booths and counter space for people to work and long tables with benches & small tables with a mix of chairs and booths for family/friends to catch up. I felt very comfortable bringing my toddler here due to all the open space. One man was working; he was polite and to the point. They had a whole convenient store type cart (candy, chips, etc) which I found a bit odd, but they also had baked goods, cereal (also odd) and a burrito of the day. I didn't try the burrito (it looked good), but opted for a blueberry muffin since I know my toddler loves them. It was a bit dry and kinda crumbled when we tried to use a fork, but the flavor was still there. I tried the brown sugar & rosemary latte special, it basically just ended up tasting like flavored milk. Overall atmosphere was 5 stars, but the food and drink were 2. If it's Organic Coffee you're looking for, you've found the right place! They serve organic milk in their lattes, which is totally appreciated! Everything is very reasonably priced, except for the Soda. It is organic and low-sugar, but it was over $3.00 a can. I tried the Lavender Thyme Latte that was featured. I must say, I really enjoyed every sip! It wasn't too sweet, just right! I also got a Gluten Free Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin and was extremely happy with that choice as well. The cafe is clean and has a cool downtown feel. Lots of natural light, plants and wood elements make it a very comfortable hang out. The only downside I experienced was that my coffee took almost 20 minutes. It wasn't for lack of effort; the barista was the only one working and the line was almost to the door. He really did a good job of juggling the register and the espresso machine, but one person can only do so much. read more

This coffee shop has stunning desert-modern architecture. It's sleek and polished with a hipster vibe (I mean, can't most coffee joints be described that way)? I was passing through Phoenix and did a quick search for local coffee spots and decided to pop in and try Giant Coffee. It was a busy weekend morning, and plenty of neighborhood folks were already swarming with their dogs and bicycles and designer sunglasses. There was a bit of a wait, but I got a cappuccino to sip first, and an iced tea to enjoy on my drive back to Nevada. The prices are in line with most gourmet espresso places: $3.75 for my cappuccino, $3.00 for the iced tea. The cappucino was high quality and tasty, but the foam was a little lacking. I did add a sprinkle of cocoa powder because I couldn't resist. The iced tea was brewed fresh just for me, and it was STRONG! I love strong tea, but I had to add some water to it. It was very good but slightly bitter due to its strength. The barista seemed frazzled from the huge crowd, and service was slow. But Giant Coffee cranks out a terrific product, and it's a great stop for my fellow coffee snobs. read more

Phoenix has some outstanding choices in coffee shops. A favorite haunt of mine as you can tell from my reviews. We were driving around the area near Giant on business and spotted Giant. Needing a break we decided to stop in. We got a banana nut muffin, a latte, a cold brew, and a cinnamon crumb muffin. The coffee was brewed to perfection. The cold brew was likely one of the best I've had in months. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The pastry selection and food selection were typical for the area. A breakfast burrito being a standard item in most of the area. The building has a very industrial look with bare concrete slab ceilings and exposed conduit. Plywood is used for paneling behind the counter. It's a great little place to check out. read more

This small coffee shop is located on N 1st Street right behind Basilic Vietnamese Kitchen. There's a surprisingly spacious interior for seating, which makes it a nice space to work in. There is some street parking next to the shop and a private lot next to Basilic Vietnamese, so it's not super hard to get to the store itself. I ordered an iced honey vanilla latte with oat milk, which came out promptly. Service was great, and the barista was sweet and helpful. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the drinks. The coffee itself is fine, but I believe they add a tad too much syrup so the drink is a little too sweet. The drink also doesn't have a very good mouthfeel and it's on the watery side (maybe it's the milk they use -- I chose oat milk). Additionally, I wish their pastries were of higher quality -- I've tried the coffee cake in the past, and it was dry and quite average. In general, not my favorite spot for coffee in the neighborhood, but fine for a caffeine fix. read more

I can't believe that I do not have a review of Giant coffee! I have been going to this coffee shop for at least seven years. I love the ambience. On a good weather day, they open the front glass windows and you feel like you were sitting outdoors while having your coffee. The pour over that they have is amongst the best I've ever tasted. That said, it takes time to do a pour over correctly, so do not be in a hurry. They also have some tasty treats that go on sale late in the afternoon. The only downside, is that the coffee shop is right behind the Arizona School for the Arts and the kids flood the place in the afternoon. Fortunately, I like kids. They have good Wi-Fi and it's a nice place to knock out your email while you're sipping one of their drinks. read more

There wasn't a line and not a ton of people in here! It's very spacious I was surprised how big it was. Clean aesthetic too, which was cool! Latte was delicious extra hot and not overly sweet. This coffee counter was in a shop area but had no line compared to the Starbucks down the terminal. During COVID-19: Delicious breakfast burritos? They got it! Pair it with a delicious cold brew to boot? They also got it! They're open during COVID-19 with masks mandatory when entering in. The cold brews are a great pick-me-up along with a breakfast burrito... with a crunch! I didn't even reheat it and the wrap had a crispiness. They also have latte specials like lavender lattes and various pour overs. Merch and coffee beans are available for purchase at the right of the counter. They also have some pastries like croissants and cookies up front behind the counter. Service was quick and easy. The shop is shared with a boutique next door. We were staying in an airbnb close by, and I walked out alone one morning to look for coffee. This place was really cute. I liked the indoor/outdoor ambiance and plants everywhere. There was a lot of ample work space and people with laptops. I ordered the honey lavender latte, and an iced americano, then impulsively bought a coffee cake loaf. My late was good, just VERY sweet. I wasn't able to finish it. The coffee cake wasn't as cinnamony or flavorful as I'd hoped. But the baristas were very nice. I tried hanging out for a bit while waiting for my fiancé to wake up, but there was an overpowering smell of some kind of incense or essential oils, or something. A little would have been perfect, but the scent was SO suffocatingly strong that I couldn't stay long and really wanted to breathe fresh air (even with all of the front doors and windows completely open). I hope it was just an off day but I couldn't deal with it for too long. read more

They recently hired a very knowledgeable barista who also provides excellent customer service, I believe her name is Rebecca and she is consistenly excellent at what she does. I wanted a Latte with half-half and honey (since a Breve is not on the menu) and she made a proper Breve for me with honey. I keep coming back for it because she makes it so well. Lately, the desserts have been better than previous visits as well! Particularly the Nut Bar which is akin to a Pecan Bar, except their nut bar has a varied assortment of nuts on it which is delicious and the bar itself is very soft and huge, I actually got it for around $1.50 because after 3pm all the sweets are half off! Well worth it, I wish I bought all the Nut Bars they had that day, because that's a great price. Another large, soft, and perfect dessert I had here recently was the Orange Meringue Bar which had a moist graham layer, orange custard filling, and fluffy meringue topping! With the half off after 3pm sale, and their new barista Rebecca, I'm most definitely a loyal customer. read more
