The best dry cleaners in Irvine. Owned by the sweetest Korean family for over 30 years. I started coming here because 24 hour fitness was in the same center about 15 years ago. Since then, I have never had to go to another dry cleaners. Mostly I'm just laundering work shirts but we've done a ton of stain removal, dresses, suits, alterations big and small over the years. If they can't fix it or it's more expensive than they quoted they will personally call you to Update you or ask if you want to proceed. True professionals. These people care...a lot. Please support your small businesses they need you now more than ever. P.S. pick up your dry cleaning on time. I didn't know this but when they spend the money to clean your stuff and it just sits there for months they lose money waiting to get paid on your pickup. My coat was only 3x the cost of dry cleaning and it didn't come out any better looking it so I'd say prices are high. Be sure to use the FIVESTARS app if you frequent Giant Cleaners. You get $1 pt for every dollar. The first reward is when you reach 100 points you get $5 off. The only other comment is that the ladies were nice and my item was ready to pick up when expected. read more

For the area, the prices are pretty competitive and I have yet to have a shirt or pants come back that I am unhappy with. They are very very nice and super accommodating. I needed a quicker turnaround on a few clothes and they made it happen with no issues at all. They also have an area on the side where someone stitches up any problems with your clothes. I have yet to use this but I plan on using it when I need to! read more

This is the worse place you can ever go to. They trick people by adding extra charges without notification. They never give you a break down. I was going there for years and just figured out they almost charges me double. When I asked why the lady replied rudely this how we charge you Every time. I have not used Giant Cleaners for dry cleaning, only alterations. The alterations lady is amazing. Not only is she a great seamstress, she has a fabulous intuitive sense about where to place her pins. By that I mean, she knows how long pants should be, and how tight a blouse should be. You get the idea. The alterations lady speaks limited English, so if you do not have Chinese heritage, one of the other ladies there will help with communication. Also, be warned that her hours there are very limited, but they are posted there. I think its something like 10 to 1 some days, but I'm not sure. If you can't get in during those hours, one of the other ladies can do the pinning for you. All the employees are super nice there. It's a pleasure to go in there and feel appreciated. read more

This place is a joke , they stained my whites to yellow and charged me based on how expensive my clothes were. When I asked why the stain is there after being cleaned they said that they no longer accept my clothes anymore because I'm difficult customer they don't want to deal with my clothing issues again. They're very rude not alone try to explain what the issue is for not cleaning it but of course they made me pay for it. I will no longer go here and please be careful going to this place. I changed my dry cleaners to this place after the one close to my home let me down severely. This one is close to my gym so it's convenient for me to drop items off and then pick them up again at a later date when I'm visiting the gym. The people were polite and pointed out areas on the clothing where the color had faded. I guess in a way it was to protect themselves as well in case I complain later on that something had happened when it was already there. Pricing is about the same as the other places around Irvine, which means it's not cheap at all. However, at least so far, the customer service has been okay. Should anything change, I'll update. I'm not sure if I'll use their hemming services since a friend told me of a seriously cheap place in Santa Ana that does a good job. From the sounds of it, I don't think I will since the other yelpers didn't seem to have a good experience with their alteration services. read more

I have been going to Giant Cleaners for cleaning and alterations for years and I would absolutely recommend them to everyone. They are always friendly and helpful, the price is more than fair, the clothes are always ready when they promise, and cleaned and pressed perfectly. They surpassed my expectations today. I dropped off something for cleaning at 9:00 this morning and asked to pick it up tomorrow morning. I went back this afternoon to pick up clothes that I dropped off last week and the piece of clothing I dropped off this morning was already cleaned! If you want the expertise that experience gives a business (25+ years), Giant Cleaners is where you should bring your clothes to be cleaned. Their fair prices and excellent service is why I keep driving an extra 10 minutes to bring my clothes to them. My parents always go here for their dry cleaning and tailoring needs, so I took a couple of my pants here to get hemmed. Something so simple as hemming was obviously too difficult for the employees working here. Specified the length. Matched it up with the pair of shoes I wanted, specified I wanted it to end right near the top of the shoe so it's not all baggy and hanging over the back of the shoes. Just a nice, straight leg a couple inches off the ground. Pointed out that I wanted the hem to look exactly how it came on the original pants, because last time I had something hemmed here it came out looking balloony and like something I could have done with a staple gun. Tried to be as precise as possible when explaining to them. Still, not remotely accurate. The pants are about 3 inches longer than I specified (I step on them when I walk), and the hem is the same balloon looking staple gun job I complained about last time. My brother got some pants here done on the same day and he was furious, I think he returned them and made the place fix his (it's still in the shop) but as for me - I'll just take my business somewhere else. That's 5 or 6 pairs of pants and all done wrong. 2 or 3 strikes too many, if you ask me. They probably do a fine job dry cleaning, just don't come here for any tailoring. read more

This is actually the best dry cleaner I've ever been to. Here's some examples of awesome customer service: They have a 10 dollar credit card minimum, and on a few occasions they've credited my account with them if my cleaning didn't cost the minimum. I.e. the next time I came in deducted from the balance of the 10 dollar minimum, where some places I've been to will straight up just not take payment. Every time I come in, they ask if I need the service done earlier than the standard time frame. On a few occasions I've requested a sooner time frame, and they happily accommodate me. Their tailoring service is really awesome and reliable. I've had a few sport coats tailored there as well as a few pair of jeans. Fast service, and it seems to be done very well. I'm sad for the day that I move from here because I've grown to really love this dry cleaner. Sigh. read more

Besides the language barrier (they're korean), this place isn't so bad. I'm not sure of the breakdown of the costs though. I took in a white fur type jacket to clean because red wine was spilled on it (the horror!). They told me there was no guarantee they could get it out and I liked that they were honest. They also said that it would be done in one day. Good thing I didn't go back the next day. The day after I dropped it off I got a phone call saying that there were rhinestones missing from my jacket (the message left on my voicemail was composed of a lot of yelling... But I don't think it was intentional although it did scare me because I thought something was wrong). I was aware of the missing stones so I called them back to give them the go ahead to wash it anyways. They never called me back after that so I wasn't even sure when it was done being cleaned. I picked it up today, which was roughly a week after. At least they got the stains out! read more

Whenever I asked to remove dirty spots specifically, the owner have taken my request seriously. I have a unique preference on the starchy on some of my clothes. Definitely recommend this place! I asked to dry-clean my white dress and my husband's white shirts. It came out super clean with bright white color :) my dress had beads on my neck line, the owner explained to me that they will cover the beads so they can minimize any damage. Giant actually shows you the prices clearly so you can make an informed decision, and since it's displayed you can't have different prices when you come to pick up your clothes.
