Terrible experience. I felt completely ripped off. I repeatedly asked for pricing before leaving my items, and the man working just kept saying his wife would charge me later. I was short on time, so I left the items and came back to pick them up only to be around 75 for 4 items -- an outrageous overcharge for what I dropped off. When I asked for a breakdown, I was told I was charged "special occasion dress" pricing at $18.95 each for a very short, simple dress, $17.95 for pants, $14.95 for a basic top, plus an additional $10 repair charge. The pricing feels extremely inflated and misleading, especially considering I specifically asked multiple times beforehand for transparency on cost. When I expressed that this was unacceptable, nothing was done to help resolve the situation or offer any understanding. I will never return and would absolutely not recommend this place. . read more

This place overcharges. I'm usually paying $8 at other cleaners for 1 uniform set with a military press. So just the shirt and pants. I moved into the area a week ago and figured I would try this spot. Did not realize they would charge me $18. $10 dollar difference is a lot especially if I need services every week. I brought in a dress two days ago due to a manufacture error; the dress closure was sewn incorrectly and the buckle needed to be flipped. I went to pick up the dress and the issue wasn't fixed but the stitching was undone and the buckle was sewn back incorrectly. I brought the dress back inside and the owner argued with me about the dress being fixed. He took the dress from me and tried to show me that he fixed it when...what do you know...it was never fixed. He offered to have the dress back the next day and I had to tell him no. I needed the dress for an event that night. He then offered for an hour pick up. I picked up my dress's and it has the wrong color thread!! I strongly believe the thread color choice was intentional. Light blue thread?!?!? Black thread would have been more acceptable. When dropping off my wedding dress to be dry cleaned, I was quoted $100 by a gentleman. I went to pick up my dress today and was charged $195. I asked the lady why I'm being charged nearly double what the man quoted me, she responded with, "Oh he doesn't know what he's talking about." She then proceeded to say that the dress was filthy, which isn't true, since it only had dirt along the bottom and on the train (no other stains). I paid the $195 and left. I am now looking at the dress at home and I still see dirt on the bottom of the dress in several spots. Safe to say that I will not be returning to this cleaners. read more

The sweetest couple operates this business and have always been so nice & accommodating to my requests. Oh & did I mention they are solventless?! The fact that I don't have to rip open the plastic & let it air out from harsh chemicals is the icing on top. They have reasonable prices & I think people need to realize this isn't some janky spot. So I have two instances to discuss on this review. Recently, just before Halloween, I took a suit, a formal dress and two costumes into this cleaners, to have them cleaned and one set of leggings for the kid's costume to be shortened. When I picked up the pieces, the total was an insane amount of $135. I didn't say anything at that point and just thought wow that's really expensive. The old man that works there made a comment at that time that I was a good customer and have been coming for years which I thought was nice of him to acknowledge still though the price for this work was outlandish. Fast forward to Wednesday, my wife dropped off a pair of dress pants to be hemmed and to have the clasp repaired and requested them to be done by Friday morning. She went to pick them up. They weren't done as promised so my mother-in-law went to pick up the pants later in the afternoon because my wife could not make it , my mother-in-law was shocked that it cost $27 to have a pair of pants hemmed and have a clasp rezone on to make matters worse at the party. My wife and I attended that evening the clasp broke again because the sewing job was terrible, and her pants opened up at the party and embarrassed her in front of all of our friends so I decided to take the pants back to the cleaners today and politely explain that I wanted a refund because the work with substandard and on top of that over priced for what it was the old man behind the counter and argue with me and told me I was wrong and out of line and that it wasn't his fault the clasp failed. It was a whole new problem. When clearly you could see the stitching he had done was poorly executed and didn't hold the class together. I continue to explain that as the customer and the customer who had been going there for years I would appreciate for him to give me a refund based on the work not being done properly. He argued with me and told me I was out of line again, and that his prices were fair and that he didn't care if he lost my business which I explained he would definitely lose my business. If he did not give me a full refund I brought up his overpriced charge from the prior time I went in at $135 for six pieces of clothing to be pressed, and one small alteration, and again he argued with me that he does good work and nobody complains ever happen to believe that that is a lie and I will never return to this establishment for any kind of service again and I hope you seriously consider taking your clothes and your needs to some other shop because these people are ridiculous and don't understand customer service read more

My work and Home is very close to legacy cleaners. I've been going here once 2010 and I am super satisfied with their work every time. The owner is very nice and super friendly and always greet my whole family kindly. My husband have many shirts needs to be washed and ironed and have complained so much from the last cleaners but ever since we've changed to legacy, he is super happy with their work. This place is located in The District, right around the corner from Target. I needed to have some clothes dry cleaned before I went on a trip the next day. Thanks to Yelp (thanks Marian B!), I found this place and checked out their website. I saw that they will do same day dry cleaning and if you get your order there by 10:00am, they can have it ready by 5:00pm the same day. You might have to ask for it (I did). As an added bonus, they are green and don't use those toxic chemicals found at some dry cleaners. The owners were gracious and kind and they did a great job. Pricewise, the total came out to $51.00 for a wool peacoat, trenchcoat, long sweater coat, and a men's suit. Not bad at all, considering the quality and the same day service. read more

I've been coming here for my dry cleaning and alterations recently. The prices are comparable to other dry cleaners and their work is clean. I currently have my bridesmaids dress with them for some alterations. They quoted me at $35 which is great! The alterations made are the same. I just need the top part to be taken in. This guy had horrible service, prices too high, did not treat me with customer loyalty. The clothes smelt like other people's B.O! (YUCK) When I asked him to re-clean them he said "no, does not smell" but let me tell you it smelt horrible, not the way I brought them in. If I i try to drop off laundry, they try to up-sell me into dry cleaning when I only need laundry service. The hangers and the paper and the plastic was very good, but prices were very high and the clothes smelled. They need to change their chemicals and put out a fresher smelling product. I have been going to Legacy Cleaners now for its convenience for a little over 10 months as I live across the street. They are overpriced but I don't say anything because it's convenient. I just went there yesterday to pick up clothes and paid with my credit card. Everything went through on my end at Wells Fargo but for some reason it's not showing it on there end. I showed them on my phone that he transaction has gone through while I was there. She wasn't understanding that whatever happened wasn't an issue on my end. Received 3 calls in last 24 hours that I need to come in and pay the full amount again. Tried to explain it again to her to no avail. Just simply put when the transaction does eventually go through on your end please call me back and apologize. Again been going there for 10 months and no I'm going to just not pay? Bad business on their part. Lost a customer as well as anyone I talk to about them! That was a nice shot at a RESPONSE in your first attempt to be professional throughout this process. For the amount of time it took you to write that thorough response you should equally do that treating your customers better when they come in. Unfortunately facts matter and lies don't take your business very far. If you don't value your customers and tell them to now pay you double for a bill I've already been charged for well then I can't help you. You guys should be ashamed. read more

I had 5 pants that needed to be altered (length and tapering) dry cleaning and patching. The owners worked patiently with me through each pants making sure I was okay with the pinning for measurements and it made me feel at ease. The owners were so nice and welcoming. Now that I wear more business entire, I needed to find a reputable dry cleaner. This place is somewhat along the way between work and home. I am assuming this place is run by a husband and wife. Both are very nice and friendly. Occasionally I see another guy, but he does not run the front. Their prices are reasonable. They accept cash and plastic payments. On my last visit, I asked for my buttons on my sports coat to be tightened up. When it was ready for pick up, the buttons were nice and tight again. Thank you! Their turnaround is typically 3-4 business days which I don't mind. Some day I will bring in laundry that is too big for my washer like a huge blanket. WATCH OUT!!! Just took 16 pieces of clothing here and was charged over $125 after the gentleman counted and recounted my items several times. He would not tell me the per item charge when I asked why the bill seemed so high. Then when I received the pick up slip, it showed my total should have been around $110, so we were overcharged over $15 for no reason. Upon requesting a refund for the overcharge back to my credit card, I was told they could not do that but would credit my account for next time. When I arrived home I realized we were missing our daughter's special silk baby dress/bloomers which we had also left to be dry cleaned. I returned and the couple was able to find it in the back room, but the outfit is now BLUE instead of white with blue stripes. They must have washed it in hot water and bled the color right out of it. They offered no refund or amends for ruining a $100 outfit. We will be going elsewhere in the future. read more

I brought in 3 pairs of jeans that needed to be hemmed since im so short and cant find jeans the right length haha. $10 a pair of jeans for a hem and $20 a pair to keep the original hem. didnt think this was too overpriced for what i've paid at other places in the past. what i really enjoyed was the quick turnaround service though! i brought the jeans in around 10am and they were ready for me after 5pm that same day - with no extra rush fee! another plus - they are open weekends (well saturday only). plus the hours of 7am-7pm during the week is perfect for the 9-5 workers! gives you the option to either before or after work. based on the quality of service and convenience for me, i will def be back here! read more

This is the worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. I used them for a while and thought they were ok but then they started losing all my dress clothes. There were multiple occasions where they lost things and didn't take responsibility for it. Most recently, the lost two pairs of my expensive cuff-lings and refused to take responsibility or offer any kind of compensation for it. In my opinion, that's the way you're supposed to do business and it's definitely not who I want caring for my suits and dress clothes. The owner who manages the front desk said he didn't know the because the woman who does alterations was t there. Couldn't even give me a ball park. When I just picked up the dress it was $70 for the alterations! Are you kidding me? He had no answer as to why, and again the woman wasn't there to explain: my friend took the exact same dress to a cleaners a few miles away at it was $26 for her alterations! Overpriced and extremely rude. Got a scrunched up look of disgust when I brought in a blanket with dog hair on it. As if that wasn't unprofessional enough, on the way out I received a lecture on how bad my blanket smelled and how all the hair clogged their filters causing them to waste their money. This has been my go-to place for shirt laundering service and dry cleaning. Why? It's a ma-and-pa place that focuses on details and their work is awesome. The clothes are always separated into different bags by color, rather than putting them all in the same bag to cut cost. A collar protector/stay is in every laundered shirt, with the sleeves folded and clipped together with other shirts in the front of the bag. Price-wise is decent, but is worth every penny.
