To finish a long and fun day of brewery hopping along Lake Erie, we met with more friends at Ghost Tree Brewing in Amherst. This spot is so cute in a great little town, right next to an old movie theatre. The tree theme is welcoming, with verdant colors everywhere. They have outdoor and indoor seating. We sat inside in a booth, and had a very friendly server. As we had just come from eating, I stuck mostly with beer, which were all delicious from years of development. We had some sharing food as well, which was great; fresh produce and amazing bread and pizza dough. I had a beer flight; one friend got the special regional collaboration beer in a limited glass to take home. It was a popular spot with a lot of people. Prices were reasonable for the quality. This was our first visit to Ghost Tree Brewing and it is a fun brewery. There is plenty of seating in the dining area and the bar. We were told they recently moved from a smaller building across the street. We were there around 3p on a Saturday and there was a steady stream of people coming in. The beer selection was very good. I am a fan of IPAS and they had one of the best IPAS. We bought a six pack to bring home since we aren't in Amherst often. The staff were friendly and attentive. read more

Ghost Tree Brewing moved into the old Brew Kettle/Church Street in Amherst. This location has always been amazing but it does have a hard time keeping good things here and hope this stays. Their menu is largely bar food, but we were told to get a burger and a pizza. We grabbed the Pollinator which is a pizza with hot honey and Feta. The feta is sort of superfluous as it loses most of the flavor being drowned out by the honey and the pepperoni, but it was an excellent pizza considering it was wood fire cooked. The burger was a Jama burger without the peanut butter, cooked to perfection and overall just a good tasting burger with straight cut fries that could have used some seasoning. The place was extremely clean. The only downfall of using all of Brew Kettles old stuff is was a mix of fine dining and chill, and could have used a push towards a more atmospheric bar. The downfall though was the service. I got a refill once. I ordered a coke and a guinness and I guess they don't like money because the girl waiting on us would absolutely not visit to get me a second. She wasn't the server who brought our food so she ordered for us and then brought us the bill. They lost two stars for the service. It's a service industry, needs to be better. Ate here for the first time since they moved into the larger space. They were busy but we got seated right away. Server was at our table promptly to get things going. Great food! We visited during walking in Wednesday so we expected the place to be busy. They have lots of seating both indoor and outdoor so we were able to be seated quickly. It took a little while for service but once we were assigned a waitress she did great. They have a nice selection of food on their menu with lots of pizza options. We tried the carnivore pizza, chicken parm pizza, Cobb salad and a kids chicken finger. Everything came out at different times because the pizza area is separate from the kitchen but it was all delicious. Looking forward to coming back again! read more

Came during Fathers Day. One of the four of us had wings which were pretty good. The rest was bad. I had a burger ordered medium. One side of the burger was badly burnt, the top bun was hard and stale while the bottom was soggy. Someone had the perch sandwich which he could only eat half. Ghost tree is pretty good and they feature pizza. Since the move to the new spot the menu has expanded and everything I've tried is great. My main issue is they use frozen pizza dough. They should be making their own fresh dough. The other thing is they make the same beers over and over. Ya there is a variety but never really any new beers. Another weird thing is seeing 6 people behind the bar. The servers pour their own. Never seen that. Service is usually great and the place is huge so you should really never have to wait. They have a great party room in the back and a space in the front that can also be a semi private party area. read more

I have left two previous reviews and today I'll leave the third. My wife called to make arrangements for Ghost Tree to receive our party at 11:30 am post funeral. Ghost Tree put us in the back party room which held much more seating that we required, but her purpose was to give us privacy which was beautiful. Our waitress Devin handled our entire table with ease. Needless to say, we had too many orders to mention, because there certainly was a wide variety of food and drinks ordered. Ghost Tree moved to 300 Church Street, Amherst, Ohio. We went to the grand opening and it was amazing. The decor was eye catching with beautiful artwork specific to Ghost Tree. The servers weee training did a great job, really appreciate how well they worked. The menu is greatly expanded with a full kitchen vs the old location. Still great pizzas with added appetizers and main dishes. Everything we had we recommend, and can't wait till we try it all. The worst burger I ever had. It was dry, cold and burn! Server took 38 min to bring the burger and we saw her again when i went to the entrance to looking for her to get the bill. I understand if were only my burger, all my guest got the same horrible quality burgers. I am mad because I paid for that! I love food and good service but I don't recommend this places. At the beginning, the service was really bad. We waited 30 minutes before someone even came to our table and an hour for our food. But the manager, Devin, took care of us. She apologized for the bad service and helped us make it better. The food was amazing, but the chili was the best I ever had. I give the service a 5 and the food a 9. Give the manager a 10 read more

Great pizza! This is one of our go-to spots for good pizza. My wife loves the pickle chip pizza. Yummy!

Service excellent, food not good. Eight of us met for lunch there, and it was very disappointing. All dishes seemed to be straight out of a can or box and served at room temperature. Fish was ok, but the pizza was awful. Almost no toppings, and certainly not freshly made. Side salad consisted of a bowl of spinach with some cheese on top. All in all, not a place to go for a nice meal. Just another place trying to masquerade as a restaurant. Stadium mustard and Jalopeno slices on top of an all beef dog and fresh bun. Served with chips on the side. Excellent choice. Church Street Wheat was a hazy wheat brew of the Hefeweizen variety. Cool and refreshing it was a great accompaniment to the spicy dog. It seems like a popular local hangout with bar seating, some high tops and some low tables as well. The environment itself was pretty impressive. But our server seemed to have an attitude and barely spent 10sec at our table. When the food finally came out, after 30min wait, my calzone was burnt and tasted like the oven. And my husband's burger was thrown together and his bun was black burnt. We had to ask for another which was ridiculous because it was open on the plate so it was clearly black. We also paid extra for fries.....please tell me why fries are an up charge of $2 instead of chips when they are both potatoes???? They were cold and greasy. I'm always looking forward to my next visit to a brewery because it's honestly one of my favorite things to do as you know that your going to find good brew good food and good vibes! Coming here was a random girls night with my friend both her and I ordered a few brews all of which were yummy but only one of them was brewed in house which is something I love to see in a brewery is their own beer! The brew I had was the Plush Brush a blonde ale it was yummy and just the way it should be the guest brew I had was a sour it too was yummy. It seems likely that they are just starting so I'm hoping to see more Ghost Tree brews when I get back here again. To munch on we ordered the brisket nachos they were perfect to share and had a good variety of flavorful toppings that just went well with a few brews! Our bartender was super friendly and very quick to serve us the entire visit which is always awesome especially when they take a min to chat with you. Overall this was a chill brewery with a dark vibe that I was totally into as the beer was good the nachos were perfect to pair with and the vibe was good it's for those reasons I hope to get back here again at some point for another round! read more

Every time I come to Amherst Ohio I stop here for some good beer. Whether it's their own brew or some cool craft cans they carry. There's TVs to watch sports and friendly staff. This time I decided to eat and saw they had a pickle pizza and WOW was it good! The pickles they use are so good. It comes with pickles, ranch, bacon and onions. Amazing!!
