Tammy, Jill, Cason and I just got out of WonderWorks in Branson, and we were ready for lunch. Right next door was Gettin' Basted, and we decided to give it a try. Great choice! It was right before lunch, so we were seated quickly. The restaurant is decorated in a fresh bbq restaurant style, and there's a gift shop that has their award-winning sauces, which I ended up purchasing, both the regular and the spicy. Our server, Karmen N., was awesome! She was right on point, and extremely friendly and attentive. She was very knowledgeable about the menu options and gave us her recommendations, since this was our first time at this restaurant. Cason, being 4 years old, wanted fries and mac-n-cheese, so enough said about that. Jill had the Wagyu Brisket entree with the sweet potato fries and fried okra, Tammy had the Smoked BBQ Chicken entree with sweet potato fries and fried okra, and I had the Wagyu Brisket entree with fried okra and the seasonal veggies, which were fresh broccoli and carrots steamed in a butter sauce. Very well done! Tammy's chicken was very tasty and tender with just enough BBQ sauce applied during cooking. Jill and my Brisket slices were very tender and cooked perfectly. Sooo good! Early dinner on Monday at 3 pm. Seated right away. Restaurant could use a little updating with carpet and tables but the they have fun decor and that Gettin' Basted logo is cute as a button. Our waitress had quite a passion for the food at the restaurant and explained the menu with her favs and also ordering suggestions. We really appreciated her helpfulness at personality. She was a delight! We ended up with the mOink and the Burnt Ends Burgers. The flavors jumping off and tenderness of the meat is fantastic. The French Fries were from the fryer to our table in less than one minute as they were so hot and fresh. Gettin' Basted may be okay for Branson, but it's really not great for those that have had BBQ in Kansas City, MO or Charleston, SC or even in Des Moines, Iowa. I usually do not like homemade Mac & Cheese because it's always WAY too cheesy but this one was phenomenal. I realllllllllly like potato salad and this one by far is the best I have ever had in my entire life. My fiancé and I both agreed this was absolutely the best one we have ever had! Burnt ends - W. O. W!!!!!!!!! We have a "BBQ" place we like in California but their burnt ends do not compare to the plate we ordered at Gettin' Basted. Not pictured: sweet tea. First, let me clarify: I'd wouldn't go out of my way to go back here, but it was dang good. Had the Blackout sandwich, which was enough (along with a side of mac'n'cheese) to fill two, hungry adults. This was actually recommended by the knowledgable and friendly waiter, who must've been reading my mind. It was about a pound of brisket, pork, sausage and Cole slaw, on a soft roll. It cured what was ailin' me, and although expensive for a sandwich, seemed like a reasonable value given that it fed two. All the meat was really tender, pretty lean, and tasty. The jalapeño sausage had a nice tinge of sweetness, and the Cole slaw's tartness worked awesomely with the sweet (and only) house bbq sauce. Great combo. Sides were good. The man'n'cheese was, well, mac'n'cheesey. You know. Southern style, very creamy. Good. Fries were generous and described as "crispy" by my partner. Service was fast even on a very busy Saturday afternoon. Folks were friendly. Not a lot of "ambience," but that didn't matter, and frankly, would have made me suspicious. BBQ joints are about the chow, after all. The unsweet tea would lead in your pencil, as only the south does it. Great. Downsides? I would have appreciated more choices on sauce, but the house version was still good. The brisket was succulently tender, but I didn't taste a hint of smoke on it. Visiting Branson and was able to check out Getting Basted, BBQ restaurant. Yelp Army as well as local recommendations sold us on visiting on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Restaurant was steady with customers and was able to be seated quickly. Our server was very friendly and able to take our drink and appetizer order while we looked over the menu. Decor was very cool and had several TVs for those needing a sports fix. Music was very good and better than expected for a BBQ joint, felt like a club in Vegas! We ordered the ribs and chicken platter with several side in addition to the nachos and smoked chicken. Dishes were served quickly, great presentation and perfectly seasoned. Their home bbq sauce was on point and had a little kick. We didn't order drinks on the visit but several specials are available for this looking for a tasty libation.
