This was my favorite bbq place! The burnt ends were wonderful! The ribs and brisket were great too. I loved all the sides. The banana pudding was good just wanted more. Got 2 pork steak platters to go. Both pork steaks were so overcooked it was hard to cut. So hard and dry we couldn't eat much. The coleslaw is dry. I thought we would get bread with the meal to make a pork steak sandwich but it didn't include bread, it probably indicates that on the menu but I didn't notice. Definitely won't be back. read more

This location has plenty of parking. It has a rustic feel with several large tables. You order at the counter and then food is delivered to your table. The service is friendly. The portion size is generous. The price is good for what you get. I liked the beans and didn't care as much for the potato salad. The brisket was thick and was good and almost dry but not quite. Cashier (from Kentucky) was a delight. Great first impression for this establishment. Hubby enjoyed the ribs with a variety of sauces. He loves Mac and cheese and said it was tasty. I wanted wings. None to be found. Only reason I give it a four versus a five. I enjoyed the tater skins with chicken added. Hit the spot. Like the ambiance, music and again - service was great. Yummy, and if we were in town longer we would be going again. Everything was delicious, the brisket, the pulled pork, the Pit beans (oh yeah) and the coleslaw! The only thing I would add is a Johnny cake or slice of Texas toast to the platter. But otherwise it was perfect! Also, don't forget the sauces. The sweet one was my favorite. The service was simply the best. Several employees took the time to check on us and actually carry on a conversation, exceptional! The dining room was neat and clean, and clean up took place immediately after a customer departed. It's so nice to see a place that takes pride in their food and their facility. May 31, 2024 and stopped in for dinner. There is lots of parking. Once entering, the menu is written behind/above the ordering counter. It could definitely be larger. They offer Pepsi products, tea, and some canned/bottled beers. We ordered the 2 meat platter. The ribs were great, but the brisket stole the show!! The brisket was so tender that an infant could eat it, and it was the best I've had. The fried okra was great too. We would pass on the potato salad though. We tried Big D's because we had a coupon for $5 off. Dan got burnt ends and I got brisket. We were disappointed. Both meats were very dry. Granted, brisket is notorious for being dry. Our friend who competes in barbecue cooking says his biggest challenge is getting the brisket to the judges before it gets dry. Big D's didn't get it to us before it got dry. In fact, it was so dry that when I tried to share a slice with Dan, it fell apart. The burnt ends were also dry and they were excessively fatty. They didn't taste like burnt ends we've had before. They were pre-sauced. What was burnt was sauce. They reminded me of chunks of roast beef with barbecue sauce. The irony is that we didn't even get our full $5 off. The cashier gave us 10% off which was $3.60. That's not much less, but it's frustrating since we were disappointed with the meal. read more

We went back last week with a large group of friends while on vacation in Branson and the food again did not disappoint. Everyone in our group loved their food. It's rather warm in there. Ambience is fine, but the food is just alright. We ordered the platter with the assortment of items. The main meats aren't tasty unless you use the bbq sauce. Further, when I ate the chicken, I was disappointed; the skin didn't have any taste at all, and it's the easiest part of the chicken to season. Not even salty... There are 4 things I look for in a bbq joint. Big D'Souza delivered on 5 of them! You must have good brisket, good ribs, good potato salad and good cole slaw, but the bonus was the amazing Pit Beans. Brisket was moist with a good bar. Ribs were very tender. Potato salad ranked in the top 3 I have ever had the pleasure of eating. All that equals a happy experience....then the beans....amazing! This place is awesome! I'm from California and we don't have barbecue like this there. All the food was amazing, especially those ribs, which didn't even need sauce on them. The service was great, that classic southern hospitality that makes you feel welcome and at home. The place is very clean and they even sell their sauce there by the bottle. Overall I would definitely eat here regularly if I lived here. Would definitely recommend coming to this place with an empty stomach, cause this food will fill you up. read more

Travelling through Branson, MO I had the opportunity to dine at Big D Bbq. Now to set the stage, I arrived 30 minutes before closing time. They were already putting chairs on tabletops. In this situation, you would normally expect less than optimal service. This was not the case. Very friendly, welcoming staff. No time pressure at all. Service was great. Food was exceptional.
