We went with another family (4 adults, 4 kids) and had a great meal. The ribs in particular were a favorite. The staff was helpful (and checked in on us once we were seated and eating, which is not always true of BBQ joints), and the owner let us check out the pit and ask questions. Been about a year since we went, but the ribs are under seasoned, over cooked, and gray in color as if they mare leftovers reheated in the Saran Wrap they were cut from. My family's been a fan of Oscar's for years, stopping by the gas station stand that used to be by Big Cedar when in town. While we're sad it closed, the location in Branson brought the same incredible flavors we remembered and love. The ribs truly are something special - maybe the best I've ever had. The pulled pork sliders and mac and cheese were solid options. I don't typically eat baked beans, but their meaty baked beans were OUTSTANDING. Sauces were the perfect consistency and right balance of sweet and smoky. They have a medium and hot option of sauce too, that had good kick without scorching your taste buds. We got the 1/2 slab of baby back ribs and the pulled chicken sandwich ("Make it Sloppy", "Carolina Style"), side of cucumber and onion salad, and smoked mac 'n cheese. The ribs literally fell off the bone and were downright the best baby back ribs we've ever had. The pulled chicken sandwich was also delicious. Hey Yelpers! Stopped by here to pick up some food to take home. Got the pulled pork, Mac and cheese, meaty beans, and some drinks. The pork came with the sauce on the side, which was nice. It let us make it as saucy as we wanted. The pork had a great smoked flavor all on its own. The beans had more meat than expected and a really good flavor, as did the mac and cheese. We went through the drive through and the service was friendly and very fast. There was no dine in eating when we were there. If you are looking to dine in, call ahead. Tried this place for the first time about a week ago. I had the sampler. All 3 meats came chopped up. I would've liked my chicken to be sliced instead of chopped, but it wasn't too bad. The chicken was my favorite meat as the pork and brisket seemed dry. I also tried the polish sausage. It was very good. The BBQ sauce (the hot and the mild) was vinegar based, which isn't my favorite. The meaty beans were awesome and the coleslaw was good. I'm not a fan of bottled drinks, but they weren't terribly overpriced. Staff were very friendly and the dining room had space for larger parties, however it's at a long table with metal fold out chairs. Those chairs in particular aren't very sturdy/comfortable for larger people. The restrooms needed to be cleaned, but other than that, it wasn't bad. All in all, it wasn't my cup of tea, but that's not because the food is bad necessarily. It's just not my favorite style of BBQ. read more

We are from Texas and would like to consider ourselves BBQ officianados. Let me tell you this place would give any of our Texas BBQ joints a run for their money! I never want to leave a bad review so I am going to just say this wasn't really my kind of BBQ place. I got the half slab ribs and side of potato salad. 1. I am not a fan of my ribs being wrapped in plastic and that made them slimy. I love a bark on my ribs and with them being wrapped in plastic it made them slime I feel, and I wasn't really a fan. Also, it would be nice if you sliced the ribs and not just left it a giant rib chunk. 2. The BBQ Sause was vinegar based and I am not a fan of that, I like the sweet BBQ souse. 3. the potato salad was mayo based and I am only a fan of mustered based potato salad. 4. My wife got a sampler, and all the meat were chopped up almost to mush chicken should be sliced sme with brisket you shouldn't assume everyone was everything chopped. The coleslaw was good and the mac and cheese was good.. I wasn't a fan of bottled drinks I feel they should have drinks out and not charge for every single bottle. As a local First time trying Oscar's. I got Burger deal and the patty was a good quality smoke meat but it was ruined by a cheap horrible bun. Disappointing to put so much work into the meat to pair it with cheap bun. Beans were very good. Small cup disappointing for drink. Don't cut corners and it would be a five. I will go back and try some BBQ but currently there are better options around the area. Hope they fix the buns. read more

It's a small place with great food that does not market to the tourists masses. It's not flashy, high priced, medium quality, high volume food. It is slow cooked, great priced, high quality, with helpful friendly staff. Pork steaks are fall off the bone plastic fork tender. Polish sausage has a nice flavor to it as well. Spicy link sausage does not cater to the masses as it is spicy in more than name. The baked beans are loaded with meat and have a great smoked flavor. We have decided to have a BBQ dinner while we stayed in Branson for the weekend but with so many choices, which one should we pick? Since we like to do a take out and we love mom and pop's business, so we decided to give Oscars a try. We called in just 5 min ahead and when we pulled up, they already have the order ready for us. Their price is very reasonable and the ribs are absolutely delicious! Heavenly and falling off the bones. The spare ribs are piping hot, not too smokey but savory/ seasoned well. We had a long and tired day and this ribs really hit the spot. The briskets has that lamb kinda smell and taste very yummy also. We love it so much that we ordered a full rack of spare ribs a half rack of baby ribs to take home. Of course, I couldn't wait to see how their baby back taste like, it's not as soft as the spare ribs but very savory also. All in all, you can't go wrong with either way. Love how friendly they are here! They've been at this location for 4 years. It's a small interior but there there is seating. The food is good. The beans are pork and beans and spicy. Good. But if you're from Texas you might not go for the potato salad. Red potato salad with Mayo. The slaw is good tangy. I'm coming back because it's not the tourist trap. It's a local eatery. All the food we had was good. My two favorites were the half pound barbecue pork sandwich and the half pound brisket sandwich. Both five star sandwiches. The half rack of barbecue pork ribs was a four star entre. The pork sandwich was juicy and tasted great. Today there was a special. A soft drink and side order were included with the pork sandwich. The brisket was also juicy and tasted great. It had a good blend of meat and fat. All the sandwiches were stuffed with meat. There are no refills on the soft drink and Oscar's does not serve French fries. The spare ribs were tender and tasty, as all the meat was. Not seasoned as well as the other meats. Beans are very good. My wife's son told me that the chicken was moist, not dry and had great flavor it was seasoned well. A five star entre. The sausage my wife had was also good. Blues were playing while we dined there. The staff and the manager were all pleasant and spoke with us. They were interested if we liked our food. There are many barbecue places in Branson. This was the best. Now we have a must "go to" place to eat in Branson, MO. read more
