I got really excited when looking up their menu online and saw they offered gluten-free bagels. My son has a gluten intolerance and this meant that we could now "go out" and get a bagel breakfast as a family. On the website the gluten free bagels are priced at $1.80 ea, along with the other non-specialty bagels. The Premium bagels are priced at $2.50. After paying and checking my receipt, I saw we got charged $12 for 4 gluten-free bagels ($3 ea). When we told the employee they were priced at $1.80 online, he said "sorry, that's how they ring up on my register." I would have had no problem paying the $3 for a gluten free bagel on the next visit if they corrected their error-- but at least honor the price you have posted. Disappointed. Was looking for a decent bagel place since Simi Valley lacks good bagel shops. Came across Get Hooked. Catchy name and wanted to see what the hype was about given the drive thru is always packed. Came on a Saturday morning and went inside to place my order. They were fairly busy but there were about 4 ladies working the counter, drive thru and making the orders. Fairly small place inside with a few tables outside. Service was attentive and friendly which is always a plus! Not sure what type of fast food the establishment was before. I ordered the Berkeley on a poppy seed bagel. The food is on the pricer side (be ready to spend some $$ especially if you order a drink(s) and a few bagels). Overall the sandwich was good although the bagel was a bit on the drier side (perhaps it was not freshly made? Or maybe it was from the day before? Unsolved bagel mysteries). If I'm in the mood for another bagel sandwich and ready to shell out some $$ then will definitely be back. read more

Came here for the first time and was very happy with my food. Ordered a "Calabasas" bagel which has cut avocado, cream cheese and fried egg, also ordered the sandwich with sausage cheese and egg. Both were absolutely delicious. Generous amounts of cream cheese, served perfectly toasted, and overall delicious. The Carmel blended drink and latte were also super yummy. Inside was clean and well maintained and I loved the chairs with the cute coffee cutouts. We will definitely be back again and again!! read more

So I came here wanting to check if the rating matched the place and the truth is no. The staff was absolutely friendly, the coffee was great, and frankly so was the food. The one thing that is true is food takes a half hour. It probably shouldn't and if they can fix this, truly this place would become over the top. Like one of the previous Yelpers said, I really want to like this place. I've ordered from Get Hooked four times so far but I think the review for this visit will be the last time I go. The Good: 1) Customer Service-mostly high school aged kids with a good attitude who are respectful and willing to help. 2) Menu-Lots of diversity with pastries, coffee&tea (hot, cold and blended), breakfast sandwiches/burritos, regular burritos, sliders and more. The Bad: 1) Drive Through: The wait times are long because as their signs states, they make the food and not at the speed of a microwave. This isn't like going through a Starbucks drive-thru at non-peak hours. You can expect to wait 15-30mins at times (or longer based on other reviews) even with only 1 or 2 cars ahead of you. You'll be more comfortable just walking inside and ordering at the counter instead of burning gas waiting in the drive thru (or turn off your engine while you wait LoL). 2) Drive-Through Tipping: Yup, tipping is popping up in more and more places. If you pay with a card, you'll be prompted by the pay device the drive-through worker hands you to tip. While the worker stares at you. I worked in the service industry but that was waiting tables. I'd be sympathetic if they were waiting on me at a table.I don't really feel like a tip is warranted when I choose to order my food via a drive through. You can of course decline, or just use cash and you won't have to deal with the awkwardness of having to tip for a bagel sandwich that you got at a drive-through. The Ugly 1) Mediocre Food: Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad per se, it's just not always great either. The bagel was tough and chewy this last time and nothing special the time before that. Not sure if they make sure to bunch all their old bagels together to sell as 'Day Old Bagels' but they could do that instead of use them for a sandwich. The bagel sandwich that I had wasn't anything better than what you could make at home (seriously). But then again, it's just a bagel sandwich-which is why I had a hard time stomaching the price. Maybe the burritos, tater tots and sliders are better. They do get points for the variety of their menu. 2) Price: I posted a picture of the Berkeley bagel sandwich I got with sausage instead of cream cheese. Before modifying the sandwich, it cost $11.50. After adding a sausage patty instead of having cream cheese, which costs $4.00, my sandwich now costs $15.50 plus a 15% tip bringing my total to $17.82-for a tough bagel sandwich with an egg, sausage patty, thin slices of tomato and a ton of arugula and spinach. The bagel sandwich (even without the sausage addition) is way overpriced for what you get. I wish the prices were better because a bagel spot concept is fun (varied menu geared towards breakfast and lunch with a drive-through) but the food (that I had-I can't speak for the other items on the menu as I've only ever had bagel sandwiches) was only OK but maybe I'll give their burrito a shot. I doubt they'll lower their prices, so I hope they up their sandwich game and sell something that tastes better than what I can rustle together in 7 minutes at home. Heard about this business and never had a chance to try it. Had my car worked on next door and decided to have a bite while I waited. Ordered the "Hidden Hill" (Lox and bagel) served open faced. I was not disappointed. The bagel nicely toasted, generous cream cheese, slices of smoked salmon and lots of capers. Garnished with fresh dill, lemon wedges, red onions and pickles- the "Hidden Hill" is a winner. Kudos to energetic, cheerful service offered and I may very likely "Get Hooked" to return soon! read more

Get Hooked by far has amazing drinks. I wish they were open for the whole day so I can have their drinks in the evening as well haha. I prefer Get Hooked over a place like Starbucks any day because they actually have premium tasting drinks. I love their blended drinks and I've gotten the hazelnut mocha too many times to count. And they ACTUALLY have good chai! I've never tried good chai until I tried theirs. The workers are very friendly, and they once even gave me a free drink card for waiting a bit too long which was great. The drive through is very convenient since I hate going inside places. Went there this morning ordered a BLT Bagel Sandwich and a Burrito and the wait for our 2 items was RIDICULOUS!!!! Did the drive-thru and I was literally there for 30 minutes for 2 breakfast sandwiches essentially.....the service is HORRIBLE!!!! And then when I finally received my food the burrito was dry like they overcooked the eggs, barely put cheese in it. I don't know why I even go to this overpriced "coffee shop" anymore. When they first opened they were great and over time it's just really gone downhill. OVERPRICED AND SLOW!!!!! Unless you have all day to wait for your food, I highly recommend going somewhere else!!! read more

We went there on Thursday morning around 9 am it took 45 min thru the drive thru with 3 cars ahead of us. I understand they are new I didn't mind the wait. Pulled up to the window, I was given my 3 coffee drinks right away, which looked like they had been sitting the 45 min , the ice and the milk were completely separated, whip cream melted. Whatever I didn't complain. I ordered the breakfast sliders and 2 orders of tater tots, I was given everything except one order of tater tots. Sat at the window for an additional 15 minutes. Finally received my last order of tater tots. Get home and open the food up, the sliders bread was completely rock hard the egg was cold, one tater tot order only filled up half way, the other was completely full however they were still frozen. Yes in 15 minutes they gave me frozen tater tots. Call the owner who's number is on yelp, he is understanding and great and says what every owner should say I will take care of with a refund. I go to pick up my refund today, and I bring the frozen tater tots with me just to show what was given to me... obviously they are defrosted they were in my fridge.. I try to show the manager on shift and he completely dismisses me. Like I'm trying to show you the error so it's a teachable experience for your cooks and he didn't want to give me the time of day. We come here almost every week for breakfast and clearly we come back for a reason, however, the last month or so the service has gotten progressively worse. I didn't want to leave a review at first, but considering it's the 4th time my husband had to go in the building after leaving the drive through because our order was wrong- I finally felt inclined. The cook/ worker acted a little annoyed that we wanted our bacon (which they charge $5 to add to the sandwich for one- two pieces). They have great food! I'm not denying that, but it's too expensive to be wrong every single time. Or for the bread to not be toasted. So just check your order before you leave! read more

TRY THE PIZZA BAGEL!! Bagels are Amazing! Friendly Staff! This place deserves a much better rating. All the reviews that are negative say how long it took etc. but they need to be cut some slack. They literally just opened. The first time I went a week ago (their 2nd day open) it did take a while but when you go to a brand new place that is just one of 'the kinks' you have to be willing to face. This time I decided on trying the Pizza Bagel, not expecting I would die and go to heaven. The sauce was so flavorful, cheese was fresh and delicious and the pepperoni just brought it all together to perfection. I would go as far as to say it is a must try. Tried for first time today and we loved it. I ordered the everything bagel, toasted with jalapeño cream cheese, fried egg, avocado, bacon, and sprouts. Built to my specs Absolutely delicious and plenty of food to fill me up and I am a big guy. The food is not "Fast Food" so be patient, trust me the wait is worth it, you will not be disappointed. My family ordered their own custom built bagels and had a few coffee drinks that were on the menu, lots of variety. The total bill for four was not on the cheap side but fair, the food is quality and prepared and packaged perfectly with care. For the price this was a fantastic breakfast worth every penny, fresh and delicious, another great option instead of settling for Starbucks where the food frankly sucks and is way overpriced. Give "Get Hooked" a try we have added them to our list of great places in Simi to have a great meal and grab a specialty tea or coffee. read more

This place has potential... but really needs to get it together. First visit there. Waited 45 minutes in the drive thru. Honestly we didn't mind. Figured they are new so give them the pass. Plus we wanted to try the place. Finally after getting to the window we were handed 2 bagels. That we opened and they looked delicious... but first but in and they were cold. Then we were handed 2 coffees. Not sure what coffee is what neither was the lady. So we both had to taste them to figure it out. One of the coffees was very hot. The other one was lukewarm. So today we decide to give a second try only 2 cars ahead of us this time. So we knew the wait couldn't be that bad. It was still 20 minutes. Today the bagels came out good. On the warmer side. But once again handed a coffee then I asked what coffee is this... "ummmm vanilla" I replied they both have vanilla... "ummm the latte" with no confidence in her guess. Then the second one comes out about 4 minutes later. This is the one with almond milk" hmmm ok. The latte was the one with almond milk so then you were wrong about the first one. Ok fine. Pull away. Both coffees are wrong. The latte should have been semi sweet with 1 pump of vanilla and the other should have 3 pumps. Then we hold our cups up. We have 2 different size coffees and both ordered a large. If your charging as much as you do for a coffee you need to get it right. You need a better system.. Was really excited to try this place. We love supporting small businesses and we love bagels! We ordered 3 bagels 1 being the open faced pizza bagel on a plain bagel. The others were Asiago with cream cheese and salt with cream cheese. The bagel is cut super stupid who cuts a bagel like that?! So weird. The pizza bagel was awful. The pepperoni was awful and this bagel was actually the salt. There was no Asiago bagel and the cream cheese was barely there. I spent $14 on 3 things that were wrong and awful. It's a real bummer because they were not busy (we were the only car in the drive thru) so to mess this up it's because they aren't paying attention! I knew coming here the service is slow, only drive through around for something fresh. But came here only for coffee and ordered inside thinking it would be faster. Super busy and ton of people waiting for food orders. I saw them make our two drinks and they sat on the counter for a good 10 minutes before I finally asked. Shouldn't take this long to hand a order out. I paid for a 20oz iced Kapaa and a 16oz Samoa but instead got two 16ounce drinks. Wasn't worth saying anything because that probably would have took another 10 minutes to get. They are friendly and coffee is good but they are very disorganized with their orders. They make your food and drinks and just leave it there. At least 10 bags sitting on the counter and people waiting. Probably won't come back any time soon. read more

After today i won't be back. This place doesn't care about their customers so why i should care to defend them and support them as a small business? Came in today for exactly what you see in my previous pic as well as a iced latte. Was handed a hot latte but was ordered iced as well as the receipt showing iced. No big deal just remake it right? No she filled a cup with ice and put it in the sink..... then dumped my hot latte over ice. You can imagine what it tastes like. Zero apologies when i asked to make it right. She hands it to someone else when she could have handed it to me. She has a rudeness about her that i didn't appreciate. Then i get home and my bagel had no visible cream cheese like they purposely scraped it off after the issue with the latte. This isn't the first complaint I've had here either but like i said i like to support small business, but i won't be back especially when i spend $33 including a tip!? Food was good. Definitely recommend getting the Bagel Sandwiches. Really good. I ordered the scrambled. Pretty solid food. Came in a meal prep container. I'm on a diet and this was a perfect serving me. I didn't see any ketchup or hot sauce and wasn't offended any. Not a huge deal but it would've been nice. Coffee is definitely way stronger than most places around Simi. Definitely needed a lit bit of sugar and cream to drink it. Ordered cold brew and regular drip coffee. read more

Also expensive, but then everything has increased in price lately. Man I really want to rate this place higher. The food is excellent. The BLT bagel sandwich is really, really good. The coffee and the drinks available are also marvelous. Its local, the employees are friendly, and it even has a drive-thru. But the wait time...awful. I've been three or four times and I keep getting taught the same lesson. The last time I went in on a Saturday at 11 am and I ordered two bagel sandwiches (exactly as its listed on the menu), a plain bagel with cream cheese, and an orange juice. It took 30 minutes to get my order, and I had to keep asking about it. That's a ridiculous amount of time. The food here is fine. The people that work here are nice but have trouble getting an order right. Been here have a dozen times and at least 4 times the order was wrong. It happened again today when my wife ordered decaf coffee and got regular caffienated coffee. Not a big deal unless you have digestive issues and can't have caffeine. I've ordered hazel nut coffee here before and twice got regular coffee. Both times they were very nice and corrected their mistake. But the mistake with my wife's order has put her in digestive stress that she had to deal with for several hours. Won't be back. read more

Absolute hidden gem for Bagels and coffee, they also have a drive thru. They have quick service and friendly staff. The inside has quite a few spots to sit and is very calm and inviting if you wanted to work there. Not sure if they had wifi, but we were able to do our planning there while we ate brunch.
