My Experience Repair was done with little attention to detail and will require rework. Gerber sent the work out to Line-X which did a poor job and didn't even complete the reinstallation of certain hardware. Carolina was also very unknowledgeable about the process and said, "In our eyes the work is complete and you'll have to take any issues up with Line-X." She also told me the rail caps were removed, while Line-X said they never remove the bed rail caps. Don't know why you would make up an answer instead of asking someone who knows. Wouldn't recommend Gerber to anyone, and they might want to hold training on customer service and personal responsibility. read more

I was involved in an accident and didn't know where to take it out here. Based on the reviews I had my truck towed to Gerber Collision and I'm so glad I did. Jose and Kyle were very helpful and thorough when going through my truck. Even though it was a total loss they went above and beyond with their expertise and customer service! This is something AZ is NOT know for so it's refreshing to see there are still good people around who care about their customers. I took my car here to get an estimate to see if there was any damage on the underside of the car (I ran over a curb). I had already received a quote from my insurance company concerning the outside damage to the car. Gerber knew this as I had sent them the quote via email. Gerber was under the impression that they were going to fix it (they said because I had already received the quote from my insurance). I explained, again, that I was only bringing it in for an estimate of any damage to the bottom of the car since I cannot see under it. They were adamant that I had brought it in for repairs because I had signed the paperwork. Yes, I did sign the paperwork, it obviously wasn't explained to me properly or I would have corrected them at that time. They supposedly tore down my car on the damaged side and quoted a supplemental estimate of over $4000! Needless to say, it was deemed a total loss by my insurance company. Now mind you, I had been driving the car for over a month with no problems prior to this. In order for me to get my car back I had to pay to get it put back together (and there is a piece they could not get back on so they left it in my front seat). Now I find out today that they also charged my insurance company to do the tear down! I mean WTH?!?!?! I worked with Jose (tech) and Kyle (mgr) and neither one of them could explain it to me to where I completely understood how they can charge me for what was supposed to be an estimate, and them saying it was a repair for them, and then charging me for a tear down and put back together!!! I have always had free estimates, no matter what they had to do to check the vehicle. It is my prerogative to have whomever I want to fix it, even if it is not the company that did the estimate. That's the cost of doing business. I just spoke with Kyle and he told me that they don't work for free, thus the charges. I can kind of understand where they are coming from, but in all honesty, it was only supposed to be an ESTIMATE!!! I will never take a vehicle here nor recommend Gerber to anyone! I guess good customer service isn't one of their priorities. What a shame! read more

found gerber through liberty recommended. brought car in to get looked at, and was told there was no time frame they could give, could be a week, could be over a month to finish the repair, which liberty said should take 3 days. . they will not order parts and let you keep the car until parts come in, they will only keep you careless while sitting in their garage so they can overcharge the insurance. read more

Was advised by my insurance company that this was a recommended repair shop. My first visit to get an estimate on my vehicle. Walked into business and greeted the reception, told her I was here for an estimate, she said okay, we'll be right with you. Sat in chair while waiting 3 more people came in, receptionist was on the phone and was aware that people had come in but failed to acknowledge them, finally one of them walked to her desk and she turned in the other direction. Got my estimate and left. Waiting on approval from my insurance company. Brought my vehicle in on 06/28/23 . They sent me regular updates on the progress of my vehicle, which was Nice. Vehicle was promised on 07/11/23 Got a call from Gerber on 07/11/23 that my vehicle was done, but it had to go to detail then QC inspection but if it passed could I pick it up, I said Yes just call me, Never heard back. I called the next day and asked if my vehicle was done, they said yes. Upon arrival they brought out my vehicle. The gaps on the hood were off noticeably , the bumper was higher on the right side than on the left, a plastic piece below the left headlight was loose the same piece on the right was not. The person who brought out my vehicle said that the gaps were within the manufacturer guidelines. I said it wasn't good enough for me, to be able to stand in front of the vehicle you could tell it was in an accident. He disagreed with me, didn't matter I told him to fix it Right. Went back on 07/14/23 to pick up my vehicle was acceptable. The next day I was doing an oil change and I popped the hood and the cowling below the windshield wipers was not fastened, I could pick the whole thing up and move it. I secured it myself, Needless to say this shop does SLOPPY Work and Customer Service SUCKS! I would NEVER use this shop nor would I recommend it! read more

I had an appointment for 1:30 today, May 3 2021... I've worked customer service for 25 years. When coming into this office we were told by the female at the desk, that we where early and that they were in a meeting. Ok I get it, not a problem.. The problem was the doors open to their meeting room and the topic of their meeting was not about business .. from bad language to talking about someone being sick. Unfortunately I was in a hit and run accident....fortunately I took my car here! The repair was just over $20k and took about 6 weeks from quote to completion. The service was amazing. The contact and progress updates were above and beyond my expectation. ASK FOR JANAYA!! Even after I got my car back, there were a few small things that needed to be done. Not only did she bring them to my attention before I even noticed them, but she had a rental car lined up for me and ready to go for the day they needed my car back to complete the few remaining items. So I dropped of my Lexus on 12/14/15 for repairs to sand damage to the front end of the car. I was given a completion date of 12/29/15. One day prior to the 29th, I am texted me that the delivery was delayed to 01/04/16. Ok, not that big a deal. Then on 01/04/16 I am told that the car won't be ready until 01/11/16, then it was once more delayed until 01/20/16 (today), now its been delayed a fourth time to 01/22/16. I don't believe them anymore. They have had my car for 38 days now and by Friday it will be 40. I believe there is a chance that this will drag on for 60 days by the time they are through. Stay away from this shop. They have people working who do not have the expertise to get jobs done beyond minor repairs. They explained to me that they did not have the know how on how to paint my car because it's special paint. They had to contact PPG paint and dragged their feet with the process. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP for the sake of your piece of mind. read more

I get soliciting for more work in a parking lot. And yes my truck was recently bumped into leaving minor damage on the front fender a week ago. But, being taunted by some random from your shop to get it buffed out or whatever. Then they were told that it is cool. It is just a work truck. They up their game and become verbally insulting. I get it dude. Your shop is on Dysart and you need some cash. But, you will never have mine. If this is how this business is run. Advertising is available. You don't need to berate and belittle people for business. You will never get mine. I'm embarrassed for you. Sad to see that the work reviews are actually very good. Too bad this employee ruined it. I was referred to Gerber Collision & Glass by the Insurance Company of the guy who hit my Black Honda Accord Coupe. There was extensive damage on the driver's side. Jeff kept me informed whether it was good news or bad news. There were some time delays but we were on the same page when it came to a quality outcome for my vehicle. Because of the focused effort on quality the time that the insurance company would pay for a rental was exceeded. Gerber picked up the extra days. When everything was said and done the repair exceeded my expectations. My car was fully restored. If I have work in the future I will use Gerber again. I was recently rear ended and sent to Gerber through the other parties insurance. Wow! They're awesome. They were able to take my car in same day that I stopped by for an estimate. Unfortunately my car ended up a total loss but they made a nerve racking situation a little easier. They were always there to answer any questions I had in a timely manner. I mainly delt with Dave, who is extra awesome. But everyone I spoke with either in person, on the phone, or through email went above and beyond. Thank you guys! I'm shocked there are any positive reviews of this place. Worst customer service I've ever seen at any business. You call and nobody knows who you are or whats going on with your car. Everyone tries to deflect your questions at someone else. "Not my department" mentality rather than make an attempt to answer your questions. There was one employee who treated me with any respect at all and he was fired right after my estimate was done, leaving me to deal with the rest of the clowns there. Every time I was at the shop there was either an angry customer in the lobby or the receptionist was dodging an angry customer on the phone. Everyone asking why their cars weren't done even though they were promised to be done long ago. Which I also dealt with. Originally given a 1-week timetable for repairs. 2 1/2 weeks later I get a message on my phone saying it's done. I go to pick up my car and it is still in pieces. A few days later it is finally "done" but the new door they put on my car was rusted out along the entire bottom edge. They had the balls to put an old rusted door on my car and expected me not to notice. Of course it was no ones fault, everyone just pointing the finger at someone else. After this mess-up they surprisingly were able to order a new door and re-do the job in 2 days (after taking 3 weeks to do it the first time). The other positive reviews here must be friend & family. If you do business here you will regret it. Hey Jessica, thank you for your half-assed, previously prepared comment that you copied & pasted on my first review to try and appease future customers. Yes you're right I did go back to the shop. In fact I went back FOUR TIMES because my door started falling off my car while driving down the street. Each time I sat in the waiting room for about an hour waiting for them to re-adjust it and every time I'd get a mile down the road and it would start rattling again and I could hear the wind blowing in through the gaps between the door and frame. After the 4th trip to Gerber I think they finally got it right. Hopefully I never have to set foot back in this place again. Oh and the rental car that they promised to cover for me? Went in with insurance already approving the claim. Was referred to a person to handle my claim, but he was out of the office for a few hours. Tried calling back several times without success. Finally spoke to someone else the next day who said my parts were ordered and the original guy would call me when they were in. Called back a few days later and he hadn't even started! Was very willing to cancel my order, but couldn't even find it for a minute. Finally found it and cancelled it. It's inconvenient enough to go through an accident, without having to deal with zero follow through... Stay away and save yourself a headache. read more

Although we had a couple of stumbles at first while getting an estimate for a Geico-insured repair, I kept my cool and the insurance adjuster I was working with got a manager involved. This manager, Bryan, completely resolved my complaints and was a privilege to work with. I was mistaken in my first impression that they were trying to shortchange me, when in fact it was just an inexperienced adjuster who is still learning the craft. I had the WORST experience at Gerber not only did they have terrible customer service, they also didn't fix my car correctly. They left many imperfections some being my steering wheel having a big tear on the side that was never there before and some parts of the door were not placed properly. This is the worst place to take your car, every other day the update is that they will have my car longer than said, and they change their update everytime, ex: the parts are in paint; next day: the parts just went to paint wont be ready for another couple of days. The external job they did was phenomenal! They internal problem I got the car back in was a nightmare! After dealing with the problems for months I contacted them in a very upsetting email. We wanted to say Thank You to Dave, and his front office staff. I called into the shop because they are a preferred vendor for repairs and they treated us with the upmost respect and very eager to assist even though they were very busy when we arrived. They assessed the damage and immediately assisted in helping us with the rental they work with enterprise. As promised he said we would get daily updates and we did. It took about 8-10 days with the amount of damage that needed to be repaired also including a holiday and weekend. I will continue to go to them for any future repairs. They treat your repairs with urgency not like another center in Tolleson that had to make an appointment before my car could be assessed by the way 6 day wait. These people will only quote you to the point of your deductible. They do this so that you will give them the work and turn around and charge and continue to charge your insurance. They clam it's so that the owner of the car can't do shady things to their insurance. Yet the real reason is so that the shop can do shady billing to the insurance company. Gerber Collision & Glass of Avondale did great work on a buddy of mine's car so I figured I'd take mine there since I saw their repair work first hand. My car was damaged by a shopping cart on the D. Side Fender which left a nasty dent and minor scrape and I took it to Gerber to have them fix it. Initial estimates were higher than other competitor's and they estimated 3 days time for repair, but I figured I wanted quality work done because it was a newer vehicle that I had recently purchased so I didn't want to go a shady route and skip on legit work. Dropped it off Monday 8:00am, went 8:00am Thursday to pick it up and it still wasn't complete. Jeff said it would be completed later that afternoon probably, and that he would call me upon it's completion. Never got a call... So I call them about an hour before they close and they tell me it's done. I'm a little disappointed at how long it took, and how I was not notified when it was done, but they did very good work. read more
