Brought my car to gerber collision with damage to the quart panel. Was told it would be about a 2 1/2-3 week at most timeframe. And I was given an estimate with a low end and high end. After I left my car is when the troubles started. First I was promised updates. Which they did do. But every time I was given an update. I would call and they would tell me they were still working on the same part. Two weeks and they were still working on cutting. Then the estimated time it would be completed started to be stretched out. When I asked why my car wasn't going to be completed when it was promised. I was told that the corporation looks at numbers and the amount of cars that get done a month. So basically cars that were easier to move out were being worked on while mine sat. After that statement I got the manager involved. He is a very nice man and probably the only saving grace of gerber. He ended up getting me a rental car. Unfortunately. More delays and more delays and then we were almost at two months of my car being at the shop. Which was absolutely infuriating. Gerber needs to rethink the people they hire and hire for quality and reliability. The receptionist was very nice and the best part of gerber. She's very empathetic and understanding. These folks will try and mentally prepare you for their work by preemptively stating Toyota allows for up to 7mm difference from one side of a part to the other. Everyone take out your ruler and stay far away from these people. Furthermore, it must have offended them that I mentioned how that didn't give me a lot of confidence in their capabilties, because they contacted Geico and refused to service my 2025 Toyota Tundra Limited. By my estimation due to fear of being held accountable for less than quality work. None the less, I appreciate being turned away as I was able to go with someone much more capable and knowledgeable. read more

My advice is to go somewhere else. This place has a huge turnover. We had them repair our truck about 5 years ago, but the inner clips to the rear bumper failed, and It took them almost 3 years to finally fix the issue due to the turnover. In the beginning I did feel like this business had great customer service because of their weekly update calls. Ryan did provide update calls, even though they were usually to indicate the car would AGAIN be taking longer than expected. However, what was most disappointing to me is when shop manager, Mike Smith, called me in lieu of Ryan to let me know my vehicle would AGAIN not be ready on the day they advised (which was supposed to be Friday that week). I asked him when for certain because I don't have a rental car. Mgr. Mike said he had the weekly meeting with staff that morning and he said he could guarantee me, 100%, no questions asked, that my vehicle would be ready on June 19. I called on June 18 and spoke to Vanessa, asking if my vehicle was still on track for June 19 (so I could arrange my ride, as I live in Prescott and this Gerber is in Anthem). Vanessa said it was still set on schedule for completion on June 19 and that Ryan would call when it was ready for pick up. Late afternoon on June 19, around 4:30, Ryan left a voicemail indicating the vehicle will NOT be ready today but it would be ready June 20. This is what really bothered me. Mgr. Mike broke his promise to me and I never heard from him again. No apology, nothing! If I was that manager, first thing Monday morning I would have met with staff and directed that the vehicle he promised for Wednesday, June 19, needed to take priority until complete. He should have been on staff every day making sure everything was getting done timely in order for him to be able to keep his word. Obviously his word means very little. So, as it goes, I didn't have a ride to Anthem on Thursday, so I had to wait until Friday to pick up. I called Vanessa at the shop Thursday to explain, and told her, "I don't have a ride today because your shop manger promised it for yesterday, and that's when I had someone to take me. I'll have to wait now and pick it up Friday." Vanessa didn't offer even the tiniest bit of interest or concern. She didn't say that as an employee of the shop she'd like to offer her apology, nor did she say anything even remotely comforting like, "oh I understand, I would be frustrated too, I'm so sorry it took longer than expected." She acted like it was no concern of hers that I was upset and frustrated, and she simply said, "ok." Then, when I finally got to the Gerber shop in Anthem on Friday, June 21, I met with Ryan to go out and review the repairs. He brought up that he heard I didn't have a ride on Thursday but that he really wanted to send one of the parts in for repainting on Wednesday, because he knows "how picky I am" and he wanted to be sure it was perfect. First, according to an update call I had from Ryan at least 2 weeks ago, the vehicle at that time was getting ready to go to paint, so why would he just be seeing this "imperfectly painted piece on the very same day the car is supposed to be given back to the owner? The "picky" comment offended me because I had never met Ryan before this, and only talked to him on the phone prior, and the only thing I told him is that I have had shops try to match paint before and it doesn't usually look very good. Then, I also offered to pay the difference in labor and materials if they would be willing to paint the entire car, just so that I could be certain all the paint would match up, but Ryan told me they're not allowed to do that. Just because I asked two questions about paint matching up. I don't think that makes me an overly picky person. I wouldn't ever use this company again. Breaking a promise in the business world tells me everything I need to know about a company. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! BUYER BEWARE!! We needed repairs on our vehicle and came here for an estimate. The charges and fees took up 4 pages front and back and the repair amount was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over priced. They were double than what we actually paid for with a different collision center! I told the service guy that I am a veteran and he said that "it didn't make a difference" because there were no discounts for the repair. Our brand new Caddy was rear ended by a cleaning service in front of the main gate at the Country Club. The repair was outstanding and extremely well done. In November 2,2022 The tail gate light was not working I sent another text message "The right side tail gate light is not working! As you mentioned, please order the parts and let me know when you can fix Thanks " On December 1 I sent another message "Now the light on the left side is not working. I will bring tomorrow morning. Thanks " After this text the general manager don't have the courtesy to call me back or send me a text messages with the update.. I have to take the car back to the shop 5 more times after was delivered.. made an extra 230 miles. The car was fixed today December 22,2022 more of two months that was promised!! I needed some body work done on my 2012 Camry. After getting the insurance check, I did my due diligence and got 3 quotes. Gerber's quote came in 2x as much as the other two shops, and double the number of labor hours, because one of the dents was "very complex" and would be hard to repair. The other 2 places said it was routine work. Gerber's prices for parts was also higher - around $1100 - compared to $788 at the shop where I had the work done. Gerber was also the only shop that said you had to stay in their waiting room while they put together the estimate - both of the other shops where I got quotes did the vehicle walk-around with me and pointed out areas and explained their estimates thoroughly. I also learned from a friend that her 2-week job ended up being 5 weeks because they had difficulty installing a front bumper on her foreign car - she was told it was taking extra time because they were looking for someone in the Valley who could do the work. If you get a quote for body work here, make sure you get at least one more for comparison. Buyer beware. read more

The only thing she knows to say is "when I get the keys the car is done" very difficult to speak to a technician to get any answers. The part didn't work with my car and they refused to fix their mistake. I am stuck with a part I cannot use and missing the part I need. While they have an extra $3,500 in their pockets. Brought my 2002 Volkswagen Golf in to have the center console repaired. Almost immediately after making the appointment they had to push it out another week. They informed me that they couldn't find a part, the part in question was in good shape which they said that they would take it off and clean it, which they didn't do. They installed the ashtray wrong, it was sticking out of the center console, I didn't see it till I got home. They scratched my original ashtray, I had to pull it out and clean and refinish the part. They nearly broke my ashtray, the clips that hold it in place were pushed down flat. Installed parts poorly, had to go home disassemble it and install it correctly. Had to repair broken areas that were forced apart. The center console has a huge gap, I wouldn't have accepted the part. They broke my glove box trim, lost the screw caps that go onto the center console to cover up the screws. When I brought it up the guy at the desk said it didn't have them, pulled up the pic and there was one on the passenger side, the other probably got dislodged when it was damaged. Told me he could find the caps so tough luck. I should have done the work myself, but as it was an insurance claim I had to go through Gerber. I had great luck in the past with other cars, but I won't ever use them again. Poor quality parts used, poor quality workmanship, and even poorer customer service. Don't waste your time Two girls at the front desk talking to each other didnt even pay attention to me when I walk in the door, They were yacking about their lunch...I said I would like to pick up my car, They handed me the keys didnt say anything to me. I went out to my car and it did not look good, like they had forgotten to finish the job, paint was still chipped in spots I had specifically asked Corey to fix and he had agreed. I went back in to speak to Corey, he. seemed more involved with his cell phone then worrying about what I was talking about. He agregued with me that those were not in the estimate, BUT I had asked him to fix him at the time of drop off and he had said "Sure no problem" He barely even looked up from his phone., he didnt offer to fix the issues and just said it isnt covered and they didnt do it. Dangerous business. Do not take your car there. I was struck in anthem. Flat out other guy's fault. He entered library parking lot doing 40 and hit me on wrong side of the road. Front to front. It was Special Ed teen on learners permit. He got very upset and immediately ran to passenger side and confronted my 12 year old. It was obvious he had some mental issues. His mother was apologetic but did not have insurance info. When I called later to get it, father went crazy. Demanded to see car before giving and declared he was not responsible for all cost. He then called insurance company and got Gerbers phone number, my chosen repair shop. He called them several times trying to tell them not to repair the car. Gerber so unprofessional, took his calls. I assured gerber he was off ( and he was arguing with me and insurance company), and yet they changed their assessment based on his complaints. His insurance, so frustrated at his anger cancelled his policy. In Gerbers rush shoddy job they did not check under car on a front end collision. Doesn't that seem basic. 10 days later, while replacing my tire different shop, repair guy tells me frame is cracked and detached from tire and the only thing holding wheel on was a single thin rod. His face was in shock. It had to be welded right there. I had driven probably 500 miles like that risking my children and any person on the road's family. Gerber is the worst, ran by fools. Why they were taking random strangers calls unrelated to the customer is amazing. read more

Started off on the right foot, Allen and Cory always keeping in contact with me about the status of my car. Went to pick up my car and as I walked up noticed a huge crease in the paint which happened during the accident. They "didn't see it"..I was told. I even had to point it out to them! They took it back again, after they had it for A WEEK! Got it back the next day and there was now a gap between the headlights and the bumper! I again had to point it out because they couldnt tell what I was talking about. They tried to "fix it" in front of me by pushing in my bumper-no go, didnt work. Then they decided to argue with me that because my husband said not to touch the aftermarket headlights, that they couldnt fix the gap..the headlights had nothing to do with it! CLEARLY it was one excuse out of another! This new gap was not there when we had gone to pick up my car in the first place..it appeared after they fixed the crease! How would they feel if they had this run around with their car?! Took it home because I was done with being argued with and my husband, removed the bumper to find the bumper bracket was tweeked and needed re adjusted, after my husband did that, we were able to make the bumper slide back into place..go figure! I think they are lazy and only do the very minimum that needs done. I had to point out two flaws to a car technician! I would save yourself the agony and go to someone you can trust! read more

After having an accident in July I was referred to by my insurance company. They stated they were on some type of preferred list. Well it turns out the list means they can literally treat you worse cause your on the guaranteed money list, so they basically screw you over on all your values and get away with it. All they wanted to do was total out my car, so they did not have to deal with it making up things like soil-age on the seats. The seats are black and leather how could they possibly soil? Everything simply wipes off with 409 and a rag. My insurance company really let these guys run the show which was really sad, because not only were they screwing me over they were taking advantage of the insurance company as well. They are blinded by the fact that they rather total out a car than fix it. Well instead of taking it to them I decided to fix it myself. After about 1500 dollars and some sweat equity it was back to normal. They stated that the job would have cost over 9k to fix the car. Just be warned, you've already read several bad reviews, and here's yet another one. Not only will they take you and your car for a ride, they will damage your insurance company in the process. Stay away from these guys they do not understand how business works. Allen is the guy that is the worst stand clear when you see him coming. Their decision is final and the insurance company simply listen and move on. It might be time for a new insurance company. Pretty sad after 23 years of loyal service only filing one claim with these guys now its time to shop for new insurance that does not associate with Gerber Auto Body. read more

My car was hit on the driver door so I took it to Gerber. The body work they did was actually good, but the window replacement not so good. First of all they used the wrong color tint on the window, it did not match the original. So then they had to take that off and put on the correct color tint. In the process, they scratched the glass. Also when opening the window part way, you can see the shoddy work, the tint doesn't cover the entire window. read more
