I took my car to Jane's about a year and a half ago to get my transmission replaced and Jane was able to replace it for a fraction of the cost of other mechanics and she was able to guarantee her work/the transmission for up to three years post fix whereas Christian Brothers, for example, quoted me twice what Jane did and offered no warranty on their work. My Ford Fusion has not had any issues since I took it to Jane. In fact just a few months ago I asked Jane to take in my car on late notice to reattach my skid plate and she was able to take my car in and screw it back in within 30min complimentary. I recommend Jane to all my friends. There is no need to go to another mechanic. If you're looking for honest reliable service at an Honest price, go to Jane. read more

I'm writing this review in the hopes that anyone considering spending their hard earned dollars here thinks twice. I brought my Chrysler Sebring into Gio's because a mile high parking lot speedbump assaulted my front bumper. I also needed a new rear bumper due to a hit & run from an Audi driving NASCAR wannabe Scottsdale douche. My first impression of Gio's was that it was definitely "low budget" due to the shack-like atmosphere & the complete lack of air conditioning in August. Instead of "judging the book by it's cover", I allowed the positive Yelp reviews to persuade me into believing I could get quality work here. #BigMistake They quoted me $550 for new front and rear bumpers. They also quoted me a two day turn around time. Brought the car in on Thursday, can come back to get it on Saturday. As I'm paying for this out of my own pocket & not with the help of any insurance, I was not intending to rent a car to add to this expense. I'm thinking- I can kick around the house for two days...sure it's an inconvenience but I'll live. I give a $140 cash deposit for parts and to my dismay- they don't have a shuttle or anyone really to drive you home. So I spent $10 to get a cab back home. Saturday morning comes & I get a call from the woman at Gio's. I'm expecting her to say "Your car's all ready for pickup!" but instead she says "There was a problem with your paint job and we have to start ALL OVER. We need an additional two days to complete the job." WHAT!? When I pushed her for an explanation, she tells me the "chemicals" caused the paint to bubble. and "it happens sometimes with CHEMICALS". I had made a gaggle of weekend plans by this time and had to break down & rent a car. There's $150 in addition to the $550 in repairs to Gio's. I was LIVID. So Monday rolls around and I call Gio's at around 10am to check the status of my car, which they've now had for four days. I get a vague answer from the woman who works there "it's in the paint room & no one can go in there. Let me have someone check & call you back." Cut to three hours later and still no word from Gio's. I hop in the rental car and drive the shop to demand answers. "Oh no one called you back?" the woman asks cluelessly. My car was not even on site. I found out that Gio's didn't do the work at the location they do business out of. They took my car to some other location to fix it. What the #$^& kind of ghetto operation are they running down there? Anyway, she makes a call & tells me the car will be ready by the time they close which is 6pm. What a coincidence. My rental car is due back at 6pm. It's 1:30pm so I have no choice at this point but to go home & wait. Well wouldn't you know it, 5:30 comes and NO CALL FROM GIO'S. Time to drive down there & raise h#$%&. My car is STILL not there. The woman makes another phone call & claims the person who is DRIVING MY CAR BACK TO THEIR SHOP is stuck in traffic. My rental car has to be back in 20 minutes. I demand one of the workers follow me to Enterprise to drop the car off (since they lack a real "shuttle service" for these instances) and bring me back to Gio's. Fast forward to after 6:30 (they're supposed to close at 6) some hillbilly comes driving up in my Sebring. I'm told to "be careful" because after two days, "the paint STILL might not be all the way dry". It takes every ounce of my being not to start knocking things over, shout profanities, & trash the place upon hearing this. Appearances are deceiving- my car LOOKS perfect at first. I pay the rest of the repair cost, the woman from Gio's gives me a coupon for a free detailing service "for the inconvenience", she asks me NOT to write a bad review on Yelp (she knew Yelp was how I was referred to Gio's and that the positive reviews swayed me), and I'm on my way. Less than a week later, my brand new front bumper is FALLING OFF. It doesn't appear to be fully bolted on AT ALL. To say I was furious would be the world's biggest understatement. I could hear the undercarriage of the bumper scraping speedbumps because of how low it was hanging. 2 days later I'm back. I showed them the failing bumper & demanded they fix the car correctly and call me when it was done. I was pretty abrupt but tried not to say much as I knew I'd lose my cool. Three hours later my car is ready. I get the keys from the woman (Sorry, I never got her name) and she tells me "when you hit something, it caused the bumper to come loose". Um, excuse me? I didn't hit ANYTHING. The bumper is loose because Gio's sucks & does shoddy work. She proceeds to tell me there's a bump under there that wasn't there after they fixed it. Um, probably because it was hanging off & hitting bumpy roads & speedbumps as I drove for 2 days? Bottom line- Had it been installed properly the 1st time, we wouldn't be having this discussion. So basically Gio's tried to blame ME for their failure- which was one of many at this point. Two words- NEVER.AGAIN. read more

I would have walked to Chicago if it wasn't for My Mechanic John! My Mercury Mountaineer had every light lit on its panel. The sudden jerk of my engine's death was the Loudest squeal that my girlfriend has ever emitted. I had nothing to do but to carry her and walk. John must have the biggest heart in the industry. He towed my SUV, and drove us to the nearest car rental. Once my SUV was fixed, my girlfriend decided to date me again. I owe it all to John. I went to Gio's during their grand reopening a month or so back for the promotional oil change service. They were awesome, they got me right in, gave me a full inspection on the vehicle. I have some other issues with the auto that needs to be addressed at a later date, but the service was awesome. I was also impressed with the fact that for a garage the place was spotless, I have been in restaurants that had more grease on the floor. Fantastic service, I will return for sure. read more

Purchased their complete detail for $98, which promised all kinds of restoration and sealant, but was no better than a $28 car wash with rugs cleaned & some interior spot cleaning (maybe extra $25). Very disappointed. When I picked it up, had to point out several areas where dirt was left behind on exterior; found more when I got home. Seriously, a waste of money. My vehicle was NOT DETAILED; but instead looked like it was run through a car wash and then the interior was cleaned with spot remover on a rag. Will not go back. Update: Gios posted a response as activity on my review. They state I didn't say anything to them at the time of pick up and had no complaints; this is far from the truth. The spots were blatantly visible, and after wasting another half hour while they used a light spray bottle and a rag to no avail, they told me that enzymes were going to make the spots "disappear" when their "product" dried. It did not. Also, while we were in their parking lot, some idiot almost hit us (and my car) with a pickup truck. (Literally, he came speeding into the parking lot without braking, then suddenly realizing what he was doing, swerved at the last second, driving his truck over a curb and into the next parking lot within a foot of where my son was standing next to me, kicking up stones all over us and my car. We could have been killed!) The guy, who appeared under the influence, got out of his truck, looked at us, and didn't even apologize. Instead, he said "shit happens." What can I say about Gio's auto repair besides AWESOME!! The hardest community resource to find is a good mechanic. I was lucky enough to find an excellent mechanic shop in the most unlikely of places. Jane and Juan of Gio's Auto Care are by for the most honest people in their field. I'm no spring chicken, meaning I've been around the block a few times and I have rarely come across such an honest and fairly priced mechanic shop. This place is on Cave Creek Road, so it's not one of those polished Scottsdale type mechanic shops, but if you're looking for showgirls and a nice place to bring to the family to hang out, this is NOT the place. However, if you're car needs work done and you don't want your bank account to get drained like a dirty swimming pool, this IS the place to bring your car. I recommend them every time I hear someone needs a good mechanic. The head mechanic Juan is like a car whisperer. He's able to diagnose and get your problem resolved in way like he's able to somehow communicate with the car. He's an impressive young guy. Took my car to get detailed on a amazon social voucher for the very reasonable price of $100. My car was trashed. I cannot for the life of me keep it clean. Plus when I got the car it had stains in some of the seats (4 door sedan, chevy cobalt 2010 lt) those stains are not as bad as they looked before! The car looks so perfectly clean, I am in love with it! They also offered me a really good deal to fix a little collision! I think I will take them up on that, I am interested in seeing how good they are with other services as well. read more

I just moved to Phoenix and didn't know where to go to inspect my 2002 Honda Accord. with check engine light on. At first, I was not impressed because they run a small shop, but later realized their service was as good as or even better than other big auto shops in Scottsdale where I live. From their initial quote, I was able to get about 50 dollar discount for full tune up. The owner and head mechanic (husband and wife, I think) were very friendly and accommodating. Juan (the head mechanic) even gave me ride home and picked me up later on which was about 15 miles each way. I mean I have never been served so kindly and professionally. Referred from a Facebook friend to the shop. Followed the Facebook page and found out they have great prices on Oil Changes. Just bought a used truck and knew it needed an oil change. They had a Mon, Wed, Thur special. Before 10am get $5.00 off the $19.95 oil change. That's cheaper than doing it myself. Donuts and Coffee in the lobby. Awesome staff. They quickly gave me a reccomendation on where to go tlto at local paint shop (old school) and was extremely helpful about it. If I could give this establishment 0 starts, I would. The owner was very rude to me on the phone after I purchased a Groupon to use on detailing. I first called a few days ago and spoke to a man who told me they would accept my Groupon and then I called today, ready to bring in my car, and the rude owner told me she does no accept Groupon anymore and hasn't for two year. Why she has not informed her staff of this is beyond me, I could have easily corrected this if her staff was knowledgeable enough to tell me the first time I called that they no longer accept Groupon. I would not go to this business with how rude this woman was, it shows what kind of service you get. read more

Gio's Automotive is pretty much the best, most down-to-earth, HONEST automotive center I've ever encountered. From my very first call in to inquire, I was completely impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the owner (yes, the OWNER took my call and assisted me with truly world-class service!!). She provided the answers to my questions, and invited me in for a free estimate same-day. Not only was the team at Gio's kind and courteous, but they absolutely know their stuff. She examined the damage and gave me an estimate that was considerably lower than all of my previous estimates. In addition, my previous estimates (which were steep enough to make the trails at Camelback Mountain jealous) were quoted for making the damaged area look "80% like new." When I asked these other shops if that meant that I only needed to pay 80% of the bill, I was met with the faces of women and men who clearly had no senses of humor (pity!). Needless to say, I ended up delaying the work for an absurd amount of time before finally find Gio's Automotive. But!!! PLEASE do not let the ridiculously good pricing fool you -- their work is not only 'as good' as their competitors' -- it completely, without a doubt, TRUMPS the others, and blows away the competition. My little vehicle oopsy that was repeatedly quoted at double the cost for "80% like new" (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one) by others was completed by Gio's Automotive so well that even I can't tell that it ever happened. And they even shared photos with me and videos (yup, seriously!) of the progress as they worked over the four day period. It's very rare for me to write reviews, but this was the first time I've ever had a car related experience that I can honestly describe as the greatest day ever. :) Simply put, Gio's Automotive is about good old-fashion, honest, sincere, 'good business' service and immaculate work. read more

I gave them a 5 star last time but now I'm taking it back. Their moral ethic is the worst of all. They were never clear about the scope of work and just trying to back burn you by leaving a spot here and there to keep you coming back so that they can keep earning your money. I fell for that last time, and I brought my car in again with some new damages, hoping that they can have them ALL fixed. They just played me cuz I'm a returned customer and the fact that I don't know much about cars. We had a deal for $250, I brought it down to $200, paid half and left. Saw them circling my car for a while before that, no one came and tell me anything. 30 mins after I took off they called me, asking for more money and more time saying they misquoted me. That's the way they do business. I was told two times and confirmed that I could have it done by Monday morning, nope, they told me "you have to bend a little for the work we do". Almost got fired cuz of the extra time they need without prepping me! Worst of all, they denied they actually said it and said its all on me. And of course, my work isn't completely done cuz "for that little money you expect all of them done?!" Lol. RIDICULOUS. I'd rather go to a legit place next time and pay more to have a customer service I deserve instead of having cheap labor and lousy management scammed and fooled me. Don't come to this place, no one deserve to be treated with no respect like this. They still tried to have me go back for extra money to do the details. How hilarious. After we got into a big argument they told me they don't need my business and they were wrong to make me a deal. So it's reasonable to assume that all non major repair work means nothing to them. Just don't go to Gio's. Worst experience ever. Good body shops are everywhere and you can find one that provides you with good price and customer service. Not happy! they charged $110/hr for 4 hrs to fix nothing and took a few days to do. Asked to see the part they replace and said they threw it out and that the garbage had already came, and its still not fixed. they are liers and full of crap and do crappy work. In January we took an 84 TransAm to Gio's Automotive for restoration. Gio's was to bring it up to,"show condition," for $10,000. A payment plan was in place so that funding would be provided as needed for expenses. There were a total of 6 payments made over time totaling $12,350 The expected completion date was to be the end of May. The $ overage was due to some unforeseen minor mechanical issues that we are told are repaired and additional cost for,"better quality paint.". After months of excuses of why the car has still not been completed or returned, I was personally assigned by the vehicle owner to manage getting the car completed in a timely manor. I went to Gio's Auto and met with Jane Nevarez the Owner on July 21st to address the holdups, answer questions, and set expectations for completion. We agreed the car would be completed the 1st week of August and what still needed to be done. Also, that there would be no further funds for the vehicle. The August deadline came and went and she requested another week to which I agreed. Yet another week came and went and I could get no response and then was told her husband was in a car wreck that would require another week. I then requested to view the car as I had a feeling we were getting dragged along. She provided an address to another shop in another part of town. I went right away to view the vehicle on 8-25-15 and was shocked to find the condition of the vehicle. I took pictures of the shell of the car which is in a state of total destruction. Interior completely removed. No hood, doors, trunk, T tops attached to the vehicle, primered exterior. Even though Ms. Nevarez said the last time we spoke it was very nearly finished. I spoke to a staff member who said he had been working on the car at one point, but, said he was pulled off the project and it had not been touched in 2 weeks, even though Jane had been telling me that it was close to completion. I then told her I wanted our car and $9,300 returned. There had been some work done to the car and if the mechanical issues turn out to be repaired that would have been some level of effort. We valued their efforts generously at $3,000 to try to have a fair resolution. Ms. Nevarez cut off all communication. She hung up on me on 3 calls and will not respond to e-mail to give status of the vehicle at all us to allow us to make arrangements for pick up. We tried to report the car as stolen with Phoenix Police, but, were told it was a civil matter and to take them to court as they were a shop contracted to restore the car. I have had Phoenix Police with me out to the two separate shops on 2 separate occasions to get our vehicle back and Ms. Nevarez has personally in recorded conversations told me that she would return the car and has not both times. On attempt 1, Ms. Nevarez told Police she had no idea who I was and that was why she could not return the vehicle even though I have dozens of e-mails and recorded conversations with this woman personally. When I provided e-mail evidence to the Police they quickly set her strait for lying and directed her to immediately return our vehicle that was at their body shop location. Upon going to the body shop location without Police present, Ms. Nevarez husband attempted to get me to sign a hold harmless as-is receipt to pick up the vehicle without even seeing it. I refused and was unsuccessful at getting Police to return. The second time, the car was again moved back to it's original location and I actually signed a different agreement to return the vehicle and parts that were never reaffixed to the car. She then decided after the agreement was in hand to still not return the car and Phoenix Police had to force her to rip up the signed agreement. Both times I had tow trucks present and waiting as the vehicle is unfinished and un-drivable. It's condition as of the second attempt with Police present was some portion of the car had finally been painted. Not the hood, and it appeared to have no bumpers, or wheel caps. The entire interior was unfinished and piled with un restored unused parts sticking out of the T tops. A COMPLETE MESS!!!! The paint that was done looked terrible. One of the Phoenix Police officers present said,"the car looked like a piece of junk. This is what all of the fuss is about." This shop is the most unethical business I have ever dealt with!!! They have taken $12,350 and they refuse to return our vehicle, and the work is not even close to being completed. Upon doing research, I found that Ms. Nevarez in currently in a lawsuit with another person that is alleging unethical if not illegal behavior. I contacted this person who explained what Gio's had done to him. His description of the behaviors of Ms. Nevarez are exactly consistent with my experiences with this woman. If you are reading this you should RUN away from doing business with this shop!!! read more
