I am extremely hesitant to bring my car to a mechanic shop normally because my dad typically fixes my cars for me. I wanted to give him a break so that is what lead me here. A little over a year ago I brought my car in for a horrible noise it was making. They diagnosed it and over $1,000 later I got the call my car was fixed and ready. As I was driving away, the same very glaring and obvious noise happened even before I left the parking lot. I called and let them know it was still making the noise so they had me bring it back the next day. I went on a drive with one of the mechanics so I could make sure they knew what noise I was talking about. They kept my car, put some oil/lubricant on a few things, and said good to go. Again, my car made the noise as I drove out of the parking lot. I called again to tell them it was still making the noise and I was told, "I don't know what to tell you, your car is old and we could spend years looking for what is causing the noise." And that was it. No offer to try to figure it out and I've now spent the money I barely could afford as a single mom and my car is not fixed. And I don't have the additional funds at the time to take it elsewhere because I spent it with them. Here I am, over a year later and the car is still making the noise because I'm nervous about trying at another mechanic. My friend over the past year has had two very similar experiences where the initial issue was not fixed at first and she has had to go back. She had to pay for the non-fixes and again for the going back to actually get it fixed. I have no doubt the work they did on my car was done properly, however it was not the right work or the fix for my issue. The employee even said he thought what they replaced looked like it had already been replaced before (like it was not the original part). I feel like that should have raised a flag that maybe it wasn't the part that needed replacing. I would use caution when considering going here.

Gave me a competitive quote, kept me informed, and repairs were completed as planned. Unfortunately, my second repair experience wasn't like the first one. Quote that I had received from Greg, my service advisor, was just a few hundred under the dealership's quote, I learned later. Parts' price was double the market price, and the repair experience was just bizarre. Dropped off my car at my 10am appointment and received a call at 2:30pm that shop had left the key inside the car and was locked out, needed a second key. I managed to get there with the second key at 4:45pm and it was too late to even perform a diagnosis. Took the car back next business day as planned. Didn't hear anything till 5pm on how repairs had progressed. Called the shop and Greg had already left. After holding for about 15 minutes, I was told that repairs were done but car needed to be tested. It was too late to catch the shuttle or an Uber ride to pick up the car; had to go there next day to pickup the car. Repairs were done and the car is driving fine. Thanks to Shawna who stepped in and informed me of the status of repair and coordinated the pickup. I still hope that this was just an odd repair experience and should have not happened like this. Hopefully, others would have an experience like my first one and don't have to take star off their shop's review as I had to.

Initially, he explained the possible problems that might be occurring and informed me of an engine recall on my particular model. (A fact I had not leanred over many visits to dealerships through the years.) When they later got around to diagnosing, he patiently explained the situation and that it just started up repeatedly without fault. He said that I could come pick it up. Not wanting an unreliable car, I solicited and took his expert suggestion that it was likely the fuel pump. He had to have it delivered and I casually mentioned that I was hoping it would be ready for my son to drive it away after school at 3:30 PM. He indicated at it'd probably be more like 5 PM, which was still a fast turnaround. I got his call at 3:30 as I was picking up my son from his school and preparing to drive him to his job. Underpromise and overdeliver--that's the mark of a great mechanic! The part and labor was very reasonable: under $600. My son said it's like it's a new car so Joe's expert suggestion was exactly right! Joe's got all my future business.

If you recall, the whole point in getting a mobile mechanic was because I just started a job and I had a meeting in the morning with my director. Which I was very clear on calling ya'll back ASAP after the meeting. Ya'll agreed and decided to make the appt and set expectations that the work would be done. Saving best for last! 4. When I called afterwards to find out nothing had been done. I was scoffed at for asking, "so how do we proceed from here?" the reply, "ughhhh, were busy now." And then silence. There never was an offer to come back out later or even another day. So I think the one truth throughout the entire response from After Hours Auto ans Truck: I told them I am leaving a review of my experience. Guess they took that as a threat. When in reality my intent was to warn others of the awful experience I had with Afrer Hours Auto and Truck. If you treat people right then you wouldn't have to worry about someone leaving a review! Picked it up from the other shop and they try telling me it was my transmission. So I called a different shop and they recommended Dave Sheppard. Got it towed here and they discovered it was not bled properly and the pushrod for the clutch was not adjusted. Dave and his shop got it fixed and I didn't need a transmission. Dave looked over my Tacoma and recommended new valve cover seals, a carrier bearing and while it was there I asked him to do an oil change. It felt great knowing Dave found that first issue and fixed what the other shop didn't fix, so I went ahead with the other services knowing my Tacoma will be in great hands and a reasonable price. I really appreciate Sheppard Automotive getting it all taken care of very quickly. It's hard to find a shop and an owner who is honest as Dave is. However, every time I told Miguel about these issues he immediately did his best to help fix them. And they did fix most of the issues I had. This is not a bad shop at all. A different and reputable tire shop I've dealt with for years confirmed these tires are in terrible condition after only three months, and even took pictures of them to post on their social media to warn others. I've never experienced this with multiple brands I've purchased in the past, and spent about the same amount of money on them. I gave Firebird an opportunity to make things right and prorate these tires but they refused. I will never go back.

My insurance company wanted to total out my 2008 S80 Volvo damaged in a hit and run accident this year. I took it to Sam's who had done a fantastic job for me two years ago. They did an estimate that was more reasonable than the shops the insurance company wanted to use and helped me get the insurance company to reconsider and repair it instead. They did a fantastic job, exactly as quoted, and did it in record time. It looks better than new. Did I mention this is a Veteran owned business to boot. The father and son team of Sam and Mark know their business, are more than fair in their pricing, and will bend over backwards to help you in any way possible get your vehicle back on the road. A couple months ago my car was damaged by a hit and run in front of my house. My daughter picked Sams based on past reviews. They helped me arrange to have it towed and kept me posted while they determined what needed to be done. My car was back to me mechanically sound and looking like new in a week. I really appreciated their thoroughness and the extra mile they went to make sure it was well done. SO when my car was involved in a traffic accident I called Sams again and once again experienced their attention to detail. It took a little longer this time but Mark kept me posted every step of the way. Again, my experience was very positive and I would recommend Sams! Love these guys! Sam's auto body and paint shop is awesome. Probably the best body shop I have ever dealt with. The repairs to my 2021 Silverado were very well done. Even knowing where the damages occured you cannot see the repairs. The paint is a perfect match. Mark (owner) sent emails to inform me of the status of the repairs as work was progressing. The work was completed in a timely manner despite discovering hidden damages. If you are looking for a body shop that offer fair pricing, great workmanship, timely repairs and pleasant interactions this is the place. I highly recommend this body shop. read more

I will never go anywhere else for work on my car! Mark is so helpful with whatever needs to be done. He always tried to get the best deal for the job. My side mirror was broken and he painted it and everything before I even got there, then it took about 5 minutes to put on! I took in my ELR for some damage done by a tall truck to the rear quarter panel. They matched the paint perfectly (candy apple red, hard to do) and did the repairs so I couldn't even tell where it was damaged. Great communications, even when their parts where held up they let me know, promptly. AWESOME and hard to find a company that's sets this high a bar for customer service. read more

My mom had her car painted here and the paint job was amazing!!!! A few days ago, a friend was moving her car and bumped into the house leaving some scratches on the bumper cover. I took it back to sams and they took care of the damage in 2 days and the car is back to perfect. Theg do amazing work and i would highly reccomend!!! read more

Kat was super quick with her responses and was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and process for repairs. Dropped off the vehicle with Kat at Altra and heard back less than 24 hours later on the assessment outcome. Unfortunately, the accident had left some damage to the truck frame itself, which could not be seen until break down of the vehicle. While I'm sure sharing this outcome with me was just as unfavorable as hearing the unfortunate news, Kat was extremely kind in letting me know options I had as I shared I am not a car-savvy lady. She went over all possible options and gave me some extra time to think about what I wanted to do moving forward. Ultimately because of the age of the vehicle, it was not worth putting the money in to fix and ended up selling it to part out. Even with the unfortunate outcome (due to the accident), I would 10/10 recommend Kat and her crew over at Altra to anyone who is needing repairs. She was fast, honest, knowledgeable and did everything in her power to ensure the right decision was made at the end of the day.
