A+ breakfast diner doing the basics exceedingly well. They change their pancake recipe and toppings daily. Some days you'll get a lemon ricotta pancake, other days you'll get a sour cream pancake. Today, I got regular buttermilk pancakes with blueberry butter. One of our servers told me these are her least favorite, yet they were the best pancakes I've had in a very long time. So, evidently you're in good shape no matter what recipe you end up with. They serve classic, dark, diner-style coffee, and they do a great job of keeping you topped off. Very welcoming staff. All around fantastic spot. Our new favorite. Oh, and the bacon is killer. Thick and juicy. read more

Lovely little spot perfect for brunch or lunch! Came on a Friday morning and was surprised to find them full of people, which is always a good sign! We were seated quickly despite the crowd and ordered promptly. Our food took awhile to come out, but was well worth the wait! I ordered a chai tea along with the herbed omelette which comes with hash browns and a toast option (I requested a biscuit because they looked/smelled so amazing). The omelette was amazing. Mouthwateringly smooth goat cheese folded into perfectly cooked eggs with crispy salty hash browns on the side The biscuit blew me away, and I can honestly say it is the best I've ever had!! Topped with butter and generously slathered with the table side jam, that biscuit will stay in my memory for a long time. I will definitely be attempting to recreate its buttery softness in my kitchen soon! If you visit Seattle and have tastebuds you must go here! read more

Great food, fast service, hardly any waiting for a table! We will for sure be back - so worth it! Insider's tip - they serve real maple syrup; best pancakes I've had in years. read more

What a cute spot and bomb breakfast. We came here after arriving in Seattle and it was awesome. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my friends ordered the mac and cheese and chicken pot pie. As soon as our food arrived, we were quiet. This is typically an indication that we are enjoying our food and having nothing to say. Service was on point and we never had an empty glass. I will definitely stop by again and try something else. read more

Always a line at weekend openings, but well worth the great breakfast or brunch. Casual diner style.

I've always wanted to try this place but always so busy on the weekends. Now with Covid we decided to go and support a local business as they reopen and I'm so glad we did. Tried the French toast and the spinach omelette. All was so good and the prices were beyond reasonable. The waitress was so friendly and they keep you safe during this time. Already planning to come back read more

Magnificent. The serving sizes or HUMONGOUS WOW. I got the pesto scrambled eggs. Yum. And I must say, next time I'm there I'll have to take one of their mugs because they're just too damn cute. Like little squirrels in their nest. Squirrel hehehehe read more

Wonderful breakfast food. I was impressed with the restaurant upon visiting the first time.

Went at a recommendation of a coworker and was not disappointed! This is one of the best breakfast places I have been to in Washington. The parking is limited and the indoors can be a bit loud but the food was on point. We ordered the country fried steak, the avocado and pico de gallo omelette, and a side of french toast. The country fried steak was amazing and the pico de gallo was fresh. The side of hash browns were also perfectly done - not over/undercooked. Tried the side of french toast since that is what it is known for and was glad I didn't forgo the experience. A full order might have been too much but the one piece as a side was a perfect portion for us. The service was quick and friendly since we had an infant with us. Interior spacing is bigger than expected and clean. Would definitely go back. read more

Food and service was great however I am not fond of places that allow non certified services animals in restaurants

My friend and I came here on a Saturday morning. The place was packed and we were warned. When we arrived people were standing outside and inside. The host instructed us to please sign in and state how many people are in our party. We stood to the side and waited. I think we waited about 20 minutes for a table to be ready . They seemed to be moving pretty fast . There is plenty of tables as well as seats at the bar. Once we were seated the waitress showed us the drink menu and we immediately asked for mimosas. I love how they have many choices for juices. I picked the grapefruit mimosa and my friend got the orange juice kind. We looked over the menu for a few minutes and I finally decided on the lemon ricotta pancakes. This flavor is not available all the time. They switch the flavor of pancakes often. I added hash browns and chicken sausage. My friend ordered French toast, bacon, and hash browns. The food was so good! It's rare I can go to a breakfast restaurant and finish all my food. I was very pleased. The prices are reasonable for the flavor, portion, and presentation. If I ever come back to Seattle I will definitely come back here. Side note: I was told the blood Mary's are really good. I seen multiple people with them. read more

Ambience is nice and it is a popular and bustling place. Food felt a bit eh. Very factory feel. The OJ is claimed to be fresh but it definitely felt pasteurized and smoothed out. Eggs in omelette also felt from a can. French toast was too crunchy and hard. I would eat if I were in the neighborhood as place felt clean and had good energy. But I won't recommend anyone to go there for the food particularly. read more

As everyone posts (and I thoroughly agree), the French toast is unbelievably delicious here. I've also tried other items like the biscuit and gravy, omelet, coffee cake, and it's all delicious. read more

Lovely neighborhood diner in Beacon Hill. I was forewarned a stop here on the weekend could result in a long wait, so we opted for a Friday morning brunch instead. It's the homey atmosphere and comforting rustic food that makes this place shine. The food is standard diner fare (not a knock, a heart-warming positive) and I would highly recommend the avocado and pepper jack omelette. It's tasty and filling. Generous serving as well. And let me just say, their Bloody Mary's pair perfectly with a rosé hangover. Literally saved me on day two of a four day girl's weekend. Thanks Geraldine's! read more

This is my second visit to Geraldine's. Would have been my third but I got there too late one day. I see a lot of people complaining about the wait, but here is the thing... you can't randomly show up to a popular place and expect to be seated as soon as you get there. My advice, the smaller the party, the better. It's not a large restaurant and they don't rush you so everyone can have a great dining experience. My party was two each time and the wait was less than ten minutes. They also are only open from 8 to 3, so they definitely do their best to accommodate everyone. The food is delicious, there is a lot to park in right around the corner that cost about 2 bucks an hour or something, and the service is decent. It's close to where I live so it's my second favorite spot to visit for brunch. I had the biscuits and gravy this time and it did not disappoint. read more

I finally tried Geraldines's Counter! It was super yummy. I did not want to go on the weekend because it is always so crowded and crowded places in Seattle can be annoying. The service was nice and friendly. I visited on a Wednesday morning around 10am. I have a standard breakfast: Scrambled eggs, hash-browns and bacon. It was very good and the bacon was actually crispy; how I like it! I want to go back and try the French Toast, I have heard good things about the French Toast. Anyway, give it a try if you are in the area! read more

Came for brunch on a Sunday. I had the herbed omelet. It was just okay. I felt the caramelized onions were oddly sweet, and the omelet was not as excitingly herbal as I would have hoped for. There was plentiful goat cheese though, and the omelet was well-made. The hash browns were crisp but a bit greasy. The coffee was decent, and the service was friendly and fast. Overall, an a-okay experience! read more

Absolutely amazing staff and pretty good food for the price. Came here with the family around Christmas time. Love it !

Pretty decent brunch spot in Seattle! I got their fried French Toast with peaches for taking out and when I got home, it was still warm and delicious. I've never seen fried French Toast before and this was LEGIT. The outside was buttery, smooth, and crispy. The peaches that went with it were also super delicious I have yet to dine in, but I would def try this place out again! read more

The first time I visited Geraldine's Counter I was ready to give them 2 stars for that awful "french toast." I'm not sure if everyone who likes the french toast has just never ordered french toast from another restaurant. But it's unlike any french toast I've ever had. I'd never ever ever order it again even though french toast is one of my go-to's at most breakfast/brunch places. The toast is huge thick slices and BURNT all over with barely any seasoning (usually I expect a strong cinnamon flavor). To top it all off, you can't order a fruit topping so it's a hard pass for me. I wish the menu had more of a description about how this isn't your classic french toast because I think my expectations are what threw me off the most here. That being said, I tried Geraldine's Counter again and was so pleasantly surprised at my second dish. I try to go to places I dislike at least twice before leaving a negative review and in this case I'm so happy I did. The magical dish that changed my mind was the Corned Beef Hash. The addition of butternut squash is my favorite. It's perfectly fried with just the right amount of oil and is a huge portion size - enough for me to get two breakfast meals out of it. This is easily a five star dish. However, because not every dish is a five star in my mind that's why I've taken down a star. There are a few things here and there that I dislike - like the bacon side that always seems to come burned to a crisp and the lack of fruit toppings on their sweet dishes, but that corned beef hash will have me coming back time and time again! read more

Great service and decent food, may be the case where I did not get the right order. I got the Corned Beef Hash, and to be frank I found it more on the bland side. Could have used some more salt, would have loved some delicious crispy potato hash blended with the dish. But it was essentially just cubed corned beef with peppers and onions. Not the ideal version of the dish for me However, my girlfriend ordered their egg sandwich and that was much better. Service, I want to reiterate, was fantastic. read more

Popular and cute, but pretty much ZERO vegan options. For vegan they have oatmeal ask for soy milk with it, fruit and salad. So if you're looking for a vegan breakfast this isn't going to be a good spot. The food was decent, I didn't have to wait for a table on a weekend, didn't feel rushed, easy parking and lots of cool shops around

I was wondering why this restaurant had such great reviews & now I know why. This is my new favorite breakfast place. We were greeted right away and only had a 20 minute wait. I have to confess that my nickname is "crispy Chris" since I like crispy lettuce amoung other things like a toasted bun on my burger. Well I've never had crispy french toast but I have now. And it was memorable, in fact, so memorable, I'm going back soon for more. The whole experience was worth repeating many times and I plan to do just that. The feta spinach and basil omelet was perfect and the hash browns were crispy just the way "crispy Chris" likes them. And finally, the Emerald City Scramble was another memorable and tasty dish. What a fantastic breakfast experience. I look forward to my next visit. read more

It's a really long wait for standard breakfast food - I'm not sure why people spend the time lining up on a Saturday afternoon. We were only a party of 4 and had to wait at least 45 minutes for a table. The scramble tasted like a scramble, the omelette tasted like an omelette and the French toast tasted like French toast. It's nothing worth waiting THAT long for. read more

This place was awesome! We had a large party and were accommodated just fine (not a long wait either, which was also a plus, especially for a Saturday). Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Went here for Sunday Brunch - there was a wait for 7 people. There isn't much of a waiting room - so a lot of people were waiting outside in the rain. I suggest going to a nearby coffee shop (Taproots & Starbucks is down the street) and kill time while you wait -- they don't have lattes or any of that fancy coffee - only drip coffee. We were seated in a booth - which, seats 4 comfortably but we fit 7, yes, we were all small people. I ordered the a half order of the Pancakes of the Day - on that Sunday it was Oatmeal with Blueberries. They were good. You pay at your table - FYI. read more

WOW who is writing reviews for Geraldine's to get guests? Saturday's here in Seattle, my daughter and I meet for breakfast, to catch up on our lives. This weekend she was craving French toast. I Googled Seattle best. We had not been to"G" in years so we gave it another try based on eaters liking Facts: *we sat at the counter... excellent service choice and always entertaining to watch staff. *we both ordered French toast....not even eatable it was so greasy from the frying to make it crisp. *coffee ground from a can .... seriously this is Seattle fresh beans EVERYWHERE!!!!!! *Kirkland label syrup..... @ $14 a plate it should be authentic, sourced and choice. (website says 100% maple syrup....hummmm) Many other fabulous breakfast spots here in Seattle go there. read more
