Excellent food! We came here one night of my sister's bachelorette trip. Unfortunately, they have no reservations and you must physically show up to put your name on their list. Then they give you an estimated wait time and you must show up within 10 minutes of that text. They told us we would have an hour wait and then texted us before the runners even got back from the Airbnb. We got there in 12 minutes and because we were 2 minutes late, they bumped us. The restaurant does not take reservations so we waited in line for the restaurant to open at 5 pm. Although there were numerous open tables, they did not seat us because they indicated the kitchen had to catch up. Not sure how this could be an issue since it was 5:05 when we made our way to the hostess. Very poor customer service. If you aren't going to have reservations and are in a tourist resort, you need to be better prepared....After being seated the service and food were outstanding. We have visited George's multiple times now during our trips to 30A. The restaurant itself is very, very small but also perfect for sitting outside on a good weather day. The service is always quick, and the waiters are always very informed of what the dishes are if you have any questions. They have a very good mixed drink selection, if you're looking for alcohol, and their beers are priced decently for the area you're in. We went to George's most recently on a night when it was a bit chilly out, but they had heaters going and you could sit outside to enjoy the fresh air while eating dinner. Everything on their menu that we've ever tried has been five-star, elite food. The quality of the food is worth the price. We got dessert this most recent time which was also amazing. I believe their menu changes depending on the season so I would highly recommend visiting multiple times on any trip. You take to 30A. Extra note - it is a kid-friendly setup, if you have young ones that you would like to take. There are some areas in 30A where it's a bit too fancy or uncomfortable to take kids, but this is a good spot for a family. read more

We came to George's for my sisters 23 birthday- (9 of us) got on a hour and 15 minute wait list. Went up the block because we had so much time to kill, but left one of our party behind to be there in case they called our table early.. when we got the text almost 30 minutes early our table was ready, she went in and told the host we were on our way back. They said we had 5 minutes to get there and we pulled in right as she said our time was up not giving us another second later and told us to try again another time. I knew this place was popular but still very surprised to see a line out the door when we arrived a little after 5 pm on a Friday night. They have a little bar waiting area though and we didn't have to wait for too long. We ordered the lobster quesadilla as an appetizer and it was so delicious and cheesy. I got the shrimp pesto fettuccini as my main course and was not disappointed. We were also glad that they were able to accommodate our friend who has a dairy allergy with the jerk crusted snapper. Our server was very sweet! The ambiance was nice and upscale. I loved the outdoor dining option. We shared a bottle of white wine for our friends bachelorette which was delicious. Honestly this was the best meal we had in the area!!! Was very happy we gave it a try and would totally come back if I were to visit Florida again. The salad and shrimp were good, with the pesto coming in shortly behind that. Potatoes were just okay but glad we got them to balance out everything else. I'm between 3 and 4 stars on it, so rounded up since I only have one visit to go by and others seem to have positive opinions. The good: service was excellent, very helpful and was happy to walk through the good and bad of the menu (well, not "bad" per se, but he was honest as to which dishes he didn't like as much). Location is lovely and conveniently located. Pleasant dining space indoors and outside. The food was fine, which was a little disappointing from reading other reviews. Fish was a little dry and could've used a little more sauce (possibly due to its being a bit dry, I suppose). It was a good portion size (better be for $28, after all), and I saw potential, just wasn't an A-game delivery. The fries, I must say, were excellent. Drinks were also just fine, nothing really stood out about them. All told, I'd go back, just wasn't the knockout experience others seem to have had. read more

We came here to eat dinner during our vacation because of the good reviews and line out the door. We waiting outside in the rain for 10 min so we could get in right at 5pm. The hostess was pushing for us sit outside on the patio outside vs inside with our 2 small children. It was in the 60s and raining. After some back and forth, we finally got seated inside. We each ordered "cocktails", I got a mojito and didn't taste a drop of rum--It came in a small bourbon glass that was loaded to the brim with ice.... My husband got an old fashioned, it just tasted like straight cheap bourbon. My husband got shrimp and grits, the meal came dowsed is whatever vinaigrette they put on the salad. He is the least picky person but he had to force himself to eat it. I got the red snapper. It was the furthest from fresh. It was dry, and overcooked. It honestly tasted like they reheated a frozen meal. My husband and I agreed the coconut molasses that it came with was incredibly gross. The black beans had no flavor. We both ate off our kids chicken finger plates since we couldn't finish our own meals. This was the most expensive place we went on our 4 day trip, hoping for a good seafood experience. I would say this was 3.5 stars. We were seated quickly outside under a patio heater, which was great. We were expecting a wait, so that was a bonus. It was quiet and easy to converse with our group. Our server stopped by immediately and was very attentive throughout our meal. There were 2 mocktail options (the lemon thyme one was pretty good) and an NA beer available, which we always appreciate. The food came out very quickly while we were still eating our salads. It was good - not mind-blowing, but good. Some dishes were over seasoned or nondescript, which was a bit of a bummer (the grits were crazy salty, the chickpeas were super spicy, the potatoes with the waygu steak were kind of mushy and tasteless (duck fat potatoes that are kind of crispy are so good!!!). The steak, for the price, was a bit underwhelming - very tender, but not a ton of flavor. The portion sizes were nice for all of the dishes (just add a few more stalks of asparagus to the Waygu ribeye please). For dessert we had the key lime (was not our favorite - so sweet) but the chocolate toffee "goo" was delicious. Overall, though, we had a great evening and enjoyed our time at George's. We tried an appetizer and an entrée each, but nothing really stood out. I was excited about the lobster and shrimp quesadilla, but it ended up being the biggest letdown. Looking back, I probably should've gone with the burger. Prices were on the high side for what we got, which might just be because of the location, but still felt steep.
