I want to start out by staying this is my favorite place to eat anywhere in 30a/destin/panama city area. The views by themselves make this place a must when you're visiting. The staff and servers are more than attentive and very knowledgeable. And usually the food is amazing- but this time it wasn't great. The scallops were undercooked and expensive for just 2. I was very excited that paella is back on the menu but was really disappointed in it. The aioli was off putting for me and the mayonnaise seemed to overpower the dish. I would love for them to bring back some of the older dishes like the sticky ribs and old paella. I'm unsure if the chef has changed again but I feel like the food is declining each time I come. The best part of the meal was the complimentary bread with honey butter. I will definitely still come back but I really hope the culinary team addresses some of these issues. read more

I'll start with the positives: good ambiance, cool rooftop seating and great service. Cons: everything else... the drinks were not good and the food was worse. Everything was highly unbalanced. We ordered the octopus, which was pretty good. The ceviche was terrible. Inedible - fish drowning in straight lime juice. I order ceviche OFTEN, and this was a huge miss for me. They need to add something sweet or creamy to balance the dish. It was way too acidic and very unpleasant, so much so that I returned ny dish after one bite. They were nice and let me order something else... I got the scallops. They were extremely bland, ironically missing any acidity. A tiny bit of lemon could have gone a long way on that dish. I didn't even eat half of it. Not worth wasting the calories. The creme brûlée was good... nothing super special, but luckily that's a tough one to mess up. Overall, I would absolutely not recommend this if you have a decent to good pallet for food. The food is way overpriced and just not very good. I have to gush about every dish ordered at our table last night. The bread???? Before our meals showed I could have just eaten that for my meal!!! It was out of this world!!! The butter and bread had this cheese and salt combo that I can't even describe the incredible taste. The appetizers - crabcakes?? Melted in your mouth!! Prawns?? Insane And perfectly prepared! We had such an amazing dinner at Pescado, mostly because we got lucky enough to get a table on the outdoor patio (6:45pm on a Monday in August) on the most gorgeous sunset night and it was breathtaking. The restaurant feels very high end, you take an elevator to go up, and it's very well decorated and fitting for the location. I loved it. The food was very good: * ceviche: really good, had to ask for a spoon and more chips though * tuna rolls: if you like raw tuna and Asian sauces, this is a must. I LOVED IT * the mussels came in a shallot creamy sauce with sourdough bread, I personally loved that but there weren't a lot of mussels (good news is they are out of their shells though). Bread was spot on and $1 for extra toasts is reasonable * the Brussels were ok, the stracciatella is a nice touch but something was a miss for me, I've had better * the banana bread pudding was delicious! And I don't even like banana! So good!! The drinks are expensive but $10 a mocktail was reasonable and the rejuvenation was delish (though it took WAY too long to come). They gifted us a glass of champagne to celebrate our wedding anniversary, a very appreciated gesture. Overall it was a great experience and ended up around $200 for 2 of us (with only one alcoholic drink)- not cheap, but we enjoyed all the items we picked and the view was worth it!! Our waitress was very nice, as well as everybody who worked there. Pro-tip: You can make a reservation online and call if you want it later. We have been here a few times when visiting in the area. I find overall that this place is simply, tired. I can't stand the "we're in high demand" attitude when the place, isn't. You check in at the host desk by the outside elevator..we got there exactly at our reservation time and the host smugly said "I'll try to send you up in a few minutes" HAHA what?! Alright. Please get over yourselves. And wouldn't you know it, we get up there and the place is nearly empty on a weekday. We asked to be sat on the patio, they did not honor this request with multiple tables available. Were sat closely next to the only other 2-person table by the bar. We ordered a lot of food, even the $200 lobster (which was delicious) but I feel the vibe and atmosphere of this place don't warrant the cost. Our waitress was super sweet though. If you're in Rosemary beach area, you'll know there's not many restaurants on the beach or with a view. The entire beach is mostly privately owned homes so it's tough to watch the sunset or even just find a good spot for a drink with a view. Pescado roof top is hands down STUNNING views and about the only one in the downtown area to go. It's pricey for a drink and food and is typically a longer wait to get in, but put your name in asap in the evening or late afternoon and the bar clears out pretty quick. We had spicy margaritas and a mocktail with the cheese board and it was so fantastic and refreshing. Service was quick too! If you are making a reservation, you'll have to do it weeks in advance during peak season at least - so go with the bar if you can! read more

Great spot for dinner and a view! Summer was our server and so pleasant as we had questions about the menu. She helped steer us in the right direction as we weren't sure how small the small plates were. My favorites were the seasonal ceviche, Chesapeake Bay Scallops and the Bourbon Braised pork belly. The chicken fried bobwhite quail was good as well - the sauce that came with it was amazing. Even after finishing the quail, I made sure to finish all of the sauce. We also ordered the whipped potatoes as a side. For dessert, we ordered the bourbon banana bread pudding. As someone who loves banana bread and also bread pudding, I didn't love the combo. It was good, just not for me. Next time I come back to 30A, I'll make sure to get reservations ahead of time so we can get the sunset view. We visited Pescado for brunch, and everything we had was delicious! Having been our first time, we weren't sure what to order. However, our waiter was very helpful in making recommendations. Ultimately, we ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, the Main Lobster Roll with a side Caesar Salad, and the Fried Mahi Sandwich. Oh wow, I'd be willing to drive 5 hours from NOLA to come back here again for the food. As far as the service goes - our waiter was helpful, but not very friendly. The view of the sunset was delightful. This is now home to my favorite crab cake! The lemon aioli with caviar, pickled apple, and arugula all complimented the crab cake perfectly! We cleaned the entire plate, every part of it was delicious. We then ordered a second starter the Bourbon Braised Duroc Pork Belly which was also phenomenal, perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. The salsa negra, white beans, pickled onions, and chicharron were so tasty, we again cleaned the entire plate. For entrées, we got the Filet served with potatoes and broccolini, all of it was very very good, but I must say the White Bolognese really knocked the whole dinner out of the park for me. Overall we had a great experience. We arrived early, without a reservation, hoping for a table to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the wait was almost an hour and by that time the sun had gone down. The steak was cooked perfectly and Mac and cheese was outstanding. The pork belly bites are absolutely worth it as well as the other dishes depending on what you like. I have no idea how this place has a 3.8 rating. This place was by far our favorite on the trip. The brunch was so good we came back before we left on our last day. The views are amazing just be sure to get there early for the patio seating! We only went for drinks. The first impression we asked to go up and the sweet girl at the podium said I have to see if they are ready. We waited 20 mins to go up while they let probably 4 other parties up. Not until I said how much longer did they let us up. 8 girls ordering drinks and a round of shots. Our bill was $400! The hostess ( Wednesday look a like) walked up to us and said no outside water bottles... we said there were others with water bottles on their tables and she said oh I didn't see that! We came here for brunch during our trip. We liked it so much that we came twice during the week. One day we had a reservation and the other we did not but we were sat quickly both times. The day we did not have a reservation we were told it could be a two hour wait but we were sat within just a few minutes. We have been here several times for dinner which is always amazing but this was our first brunch visit. It was incredible! I am normally a bacon and eggs kind of girl but I opted to try the mahi sandwich and it was delicious! I got it both days that we came here. I also tried the fried green tomatoes on the second visit and they were super tasty! I'd highly recommend both! My friends got the French toast and everyone loved it. Our server was so great! His name was Raged. He interacted with the kids in our party and really made a great impression on us. He was kind and very attentive. We had him for both visits. This was an interesting visit Sunday night. Nice place, quite ambiance with a downstairs that was closed and a rooftop that full. We sat at the bar, the dining room was half full. I had heard this was an upscale place, nice but far from that. Service was ok, they were going to pour the wrong champagne, but we caught it on time. The right champagne came, quite warm so it took a while before it got to the right temperature. Food, yes the food.... Brussels sprout were good, but a bit too much balsamic vinegar, great to the palate but it hit your throat when swallowing. The Mac and cheese I have heard so much about. Average. The mussels, surprisingly different approach, but delicious! Going back just for that. The pork belly, cooked to perfection, the side sauce however, did not help the dish; it took away from the pork belly goodness. Going back for that as well. The ceviche was another great dish.
