Every time we're in the area visiting my fiancé's family, Hurricane's Oyster Bar is a must. It's become one of our favorite spots, and we've genuinely never had a disappointing experience. The food is consistently delicious, the service is always friendly, and the laid back beach atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax after a day on the coast. If you're stopping by for lunch, I can't recommend the crab cake po'boy enough. It's absolutely massive, packed with flavor, and more than worth ordering. The Bloody Mary oyster shooters are another must try if you're looking for something unique. We also love coming during happy hour, which is always a great value. One tip: get there early if you can. This place is incredibly popular, especially during beach season, and for good reason. It's always busy, but the lively atmosphere is part of what makes it such a fun place to visit. This is one of those no reservations, always busy, summer vacay spots. I thought the pricing was all reasonable compared to other beach spots I've seen. Parking can be a bit difficult when some of the other stores are still open. They were definitely busy but our server was on it. Food and drinks came out quick. We sat outside and the view was great. Oysters! Yes, please. We had 50 or more grilled oysters of various types, 2 dozen raw oysters, crab claws -- wow! - and I had the bisque which was richly satisfying. Hurricane Oyster Bar has an extensive menu filled with seafood and much more. Prices are reasonable for the huge plates of food that they serve up. I had a delicious seafood combo plate that included tripletail fish plus some seafood. A favorite on the table were the blackened fish tacos. We all especially enjoyed the baked oysters. The best casual local oyster bar with a wonderful happy hour on 30A! This is evident by the crowds who flock here for happy hour! As you enter the dark, memento filled bar you'll feel like you've entered the oldest establishment in the area where many a story have been told and memories made. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and all of the staff follow with their friendly, welcoming demeanor. In the 3 weeks we visited the 30A area we enjoyed Hurricane's five times. Highlights- happy hour 4-6 with great oyster specials, light bites and great cocktails. Great view and adjacent to a couple of nice art stores. Our favorite foods-Grouper blackened or fried in a basket, sandwich and tacos. Fries-crunchy and hot and the hush puppies--amazing!! Don't miss the pretzels-the best we've ever had. This was a pretty good restaurant. Me and my family came here to eat some local dinner. I got a burger. Me personally, I really enjoyed it and thought is was pretty good. The rest of my family enjoyed their food too. Also, the coke they gave me was huge! The inside was pretty clean, especially for half of it being outside. It had a great ambiance to it. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was pretty nice. The only downside to this place is it took forever. It took 45 minutes for us to get in then another hour for us to get our food. We went on a Tuesday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table. We were seated outside and, for a 93 degree day, it was quite pleasant with the fans. The food was good. We have dined here several times when coming to Santa Rosa on the gulf coast and have always had a great experience. The food and staff are really good and the prices are reasonable compared to high price places with not so great food. Chris was a great waiter and the restaurant has lots of screens to watch sports. Went to dinner here and it was amazing! $2 draft beers for happy hour. First time ever having fried jalapeños with fried pickles and it was so good. I started off with half a dozen raw oysters, they were tasty and a fair price. My boyfriend and I got the fried shrimp platter and his brother got the catfish poboy. PLENTY of food! Came here for dinner with my family on vacation. Despite having a party of 7 plus a baby, we were able to get a table outside with only a 10 minute wait on weeknight. We sat outside which has a nice beachy/dive bar vibe with a view of a pond. I had the seafood taco trio platter. This came with a fish taco, lobster taco, and a blackened shrimp taco. This restaurant has a much different vibe then most places in 30A. It feels very dive bar but in a good way, the outdoor area reminds me of the back porch. The service was very fast and our waiter was super attentive. We tried the Cajun oysters and they were some of the best oysters I have tasted. For our main course we did the shrimp and grits which I thought was also fantastic. It was a mix of Cajun and almost a hint of tomato. This was mediocre. Our service was okay, not awful, but not great. The environment inside is very dive bar feel. The food was disappointing. Crab cakes were good, filled with crab meat, and fresh caught fish of the day was good. But everything else we wouldn't order again. The crab claws did not taste fresh and we were very disappointed. Despite are less than stellar experience it was spaced and there was a wait the entire time we were there. Definitely lower end food, so maybe just not my thing. read more

First off i would like to say, this place was very hit or miss on the food. and if i had picked the right food, this could easily be a 5 star. the fried pickles and jalapeños were fantastic, same with the grilled crab oysters. the lobster bisque wasnt very flavorful and was a seafood bland for me. the corn fritters were very sweet and it wasnt bad but i guess i was hoping for more of a hush puppies type flavor. And lastly, the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake was actually very good and i am not a big fan of cheesecake at all. the server wasnt mean or rude, but just felt off in general and almost demanding at some times. the ambiance wasnt the best, very packed and just a lot going on. I feel bad giving this place 3 stars, not good enough for 4 with my experience but it really could have been 5 stars with another try. read more

I ordered a Margarita with Ocho Reposado! They make the best margarita in town, it's the Tommy's Margarita! If you know anything about Tequila you know what a Tommy's Margarita is! Table was ready after 2 margaritas.... On to appetizers, Blue Crab Claws, sooo good! And Coconut Shrimp and the Mango Salsa is Awesome! Used some of that later! Then some Coconut Corn Fritters, yummy! On to the soup, Crab & Lobster Bisque, It was good lots of crab and lobster, I would have liked it better if it had a little bit more flavor. On to entrees, I got the special, I believe it was Blackened Trigger fish with 3 shrimp (used the mango salsa on the shrimp) on top of cheese grits, with some crawfish etouffee!
