Booked a reservation due to an announcement for a "new menu". Turns out the menu was still the same. We had the Penne Chicken, Shrimp & Crawfish, Crab Cakes, and the Blackened Grouper. Most came with a house salad and bread. Fish was cooked well and hearty portions were served. The menu isn't extensive, so be prepared to choose from the five items listed. The back room was very loud with parties seemingly yelling at each other across the table and for the whole restaurant to hear as well. We attempted to get drinks at the bar prior to sitting, impossible to get through on a Friday night, but our waitress got our orders in and served quickly once we were sitting. Note: this is very much a dive bar scene where the booths were covered with duct tape to keep together and other booths appearing to be reused airplane seats of some sort.

1-1-26, not our first visit. I keep forgetting to drop a 5 review for The Red Bar, not today! Lunch with Lesley, Savannah & Cole. Enjoyed the grilled Mahi sandwich with fries and a cold Hoegaarden bottle. Our server Austin was great. Tons of knowledge and experience, really a fantastic lunch! This place is iconic, a must visit!

Super fun bar/resturant! Great vibes and good foods. I think it's a rotating menu but had a variety of options

Such a great spot and well worth the wait! It was very crowded, even late on a Wednesday night. We added our name to the wait list and waited at the bar. I tried one of their cucumber martinis and one of their fresh squeezed margs. Both were just okay. The marg in particular was poorly balanced, and I was unable to finish it. I wouldn't recommend that one. My husband got a beer, and it was served completely flat. Kind of odd. He didn't finish this either. Once seated, we had a great server! He was attentive and helpful. We got the fish dip to start. OMG this was crazy good!!! I couldn't stop repeating how great it was. Highly recommend this. It had a kick to it, which I loved and was not expecting. We then split the grouper special, which was also amazing. We loved the grit cake and spinach that was underneath it. Even the side salad was nice. We would order both dishes again. Both serving sizes were very generous. I wanted to try their key lime pie, but we were too full. The inside is very unique. It is loud and hard to hear at times, but it is a fun experience. We'd definitely go back!

Food is average, drinks are good. The service was fine. The bloody mary was loaded with a celery stalk, beans, etc. It's a place to try for a beverage. The fries would be better if they were fresh cut. It's a nice little bar with ambiance.

My wife and I stopped by red bar for lunch last Friday. Bob was our server he's top notch! The service was excellent, the food was tasty, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for! I highly recommend this place ask for Bob you won't regret it!

As always, great food! Recommend the eggplant and chicken. If you get there at opening, service is quick, but is always good no matter. Can't beat the ambience!

I have been to Red Bar before, but I think this was my first time sitting in the main dining room for dinner. There were five of us squished in a small booth and it was very busy, of course because it is such a good restaurant in a popular location. We really enjoyed the food, but our service was kind of slow at times. We got our food before we ever got our drinks. In addition, our servers pen exploded on him which also happened to get on my friend, of course it was all an accident, but just very unfortunate. It was very busy, but the staff definitely tried to get us seated as soon as possible. Since it was summer, there were definitely a lot of bachelorette parties and things like that. Overall, we had a fairly good experience, it just is a little more hectic on a Saturday night. I ordered the panne chicken and I really liked it, the chicken was nice and tender and cooked through with great flavor!

We were staying in one of the apartments above the Zoo Gallery and the gallery owner recommended The Red Bar and we are so glad we listened. Just walking by we could feel the fun, welcoming energy. The eclectic decor, cozy lighting and upbeat atmosphere drew us in right away. We went in on a Monday around 5 and despite it being pretty packed we were seated right away. The vibe inside is quirky, clean and inviting. Definitely a place with personality. Our server was awesome and it was fun seeing them bring a huge poster sized menu to the table. The menu is small, but everyone in our party found something they were looking forward to trying. My husband and I started with margaritas. They were freshly squeezed and super refreshing. For dinner, I had the Grouper Special: blackened grouper served over a bacon cheddar grit cake with a side salad. It was phenomenal! I would come back to Grayton Beach for that dish alone. Our daughter had the Shrimp and Crayfish. She couldn't stop raving about it. My husband had the Mahi with citrus beurre blanc. It was flaky, flavorful and cooked to perfection. This place has it all. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend making a stop at The Red Bar when you are in Grayton Beach. We are already looking forward to next time.

Poboy for the whole battalion! or one really hungry dude

Yesterday we couldn't find a spot to park but the Chiringon had a spot so we had lunch there BUT we had to come back and try again the Red Bar and omg no regrets this place has it all Ordered the Poboy and I am no kidding there is enough food for two finicky eaters or one hungry dude My only complaint is that the chlorine that they serve has some water in it but it is not their fault but the City of Grayton proper, horrible water but ended up ordering beers for both Service was excellent, not very many people at 1:30 so it worked out very well. The place has a laid back beach vibe that we truly enjoyed and will come back in a week or so

Experience just getting there! Was told ahead of time to take the "tram" as there is no parking at the restaurant. Arrived by 4pm, promptly greeted by friendly staff & seated on a patio outside as requested (party of 6 adults + 2 kids). As we walked thru the restaurant, very collective vibe, candles on the tables, loud, happening place, band was setting up to play. Plenty of beautiful outdoor waiting seating area & gift shop. Happy to be seated on the patio in the open air, only a drink menu with a few appetizers given. That's strange! No true food menu? Then waitress brings a chalkboard with the menu of 4-5 options... that's it! Thank goodness there were kid options available, that she verbally told us. Orders given. We wait. And wait. And wait. Shouldn't be hard... there's only like 5 various & variations of those meals (fried/blackened/grilled) being served from the menu, most of the apps aren't made in house, come frozen. Yet, we wait. Still waiting with 2 toddlers. Finally the apps come, wait even longer for meal... Adult meals were "good" or "ok", pasta was just blah, nothing special, seafood was the WINNER! We had to actually ask for our check, toddlers are absolutely melting, adults are starting to throw tantrums after being seated for nearly 2 hours... I'd love to rate this higher, head such awesome things... but with the food being average, kitchen being slow & waitress being even slower...

Ask the Community - The Red Bar

Are kids allowed to eat here?

Yes. There were lots of kids and families in the dining area.

Is there indoor seating as well as outdoor seating?

Yes! They have a lovely patio that is much quieter and well shaded

Take reservations or call ahead seating?

Unfortunately the Red Bar does not take reservations. We went during an off peak time and day and had no issues. we went on a Monday at 4:45 and it worked out great

    Do y'all make reservations?

Walk-ins a welcome. They currently do not take reservations

Where is this place? My husband & I tried going here the other night. The address is the same as the Celadon Beach Resort. We wandered all over that area and couldn't find the bar.

Same here!! Where do you park and where is it??

    Kids or no kids?

Lots of families with children. Long wait to be seated which can be tough for kids. Fast service and food once seated.

Hello. Worried Customer. I left my phone there last night. Is there any way I can retrieve it before 11am?

I'm just a customer. You'll have to call there

Will they do take out of the crab cakes?

    Yes

Does the whole restaurant shut down people under 21 at a certain turn or all ages welcome?

    All ages are welcome

The soup was my favorite crab soup out of the 3 I tried around 30a. We got the shrimp carbonara and shrimp and grits for our entrees. The carbonara portion was huge. Definitely enough to split with someone and still have leftovers. We were pretty stuffed and nothing piqued our interest so we passed on dessert. The server was nice and attentive. Appetizers came out pretty quick. The complimentary bread was good. Our only criticism was that the shrimp came with the tails on so we can get our hands dirty with sauce to remove the tails off. Not going to deduct points for it as it seems like everywhere in 30a serves shrimp with tails but my southern husband was disappointed by it at a nice restaurant. We will definitely be back on future trips to 30a. I got the lobster in paradise and the arugula salad and both were delicious! My husband got the filet and asparagus and while it was prepared safely, it was his least favorite steak of the trip. Our waitress was great and very friendly! However, when we got to the hostess stand and gave them our name, the employees at the stand seemed to be bickering a bit and we weren't sure if it was related to my husbands allergies/where to seat us or something else, but it made us a little nervous. The happy hour deals are amazing and people line up at the door at open for the $6 martini special (bar only - but you can get up and walk over there). We did get to participate in the bogo half off entree deal which was nice. Overall, I would return but the first impression with the hosts just worried us a bit.

The "bar" is set high on this one by the Marlin Bar in Orlando so I'll give them a pass. Service was very attentive and the place itself is brand new. I wish the developer would have made more parking closer to the buildings. In the off season it was nuts, coming here during peak season is going to be a challenge. We are typically there at least three out of the seven days we stay in town. Unfortunately, after our experience on Mother's Day, we do not plan on returning. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. with a party of nine, hoping to enjoy some of the happy hour menu and pricing. We were kept waiting in the front until exactly 5:00 p.m., even though it was obvious that tables on the back deck were already available. Once seated, our server was polite and did a good job taking care of us. During conversation, we mentioned the long wait, and he explained that it is apparently "protocol" to delay seating larger parties until after 5:00 so they do not receive happy hour pricing. If that is truly company policy, I find it extremely disappointing and dishonest. We felt manipulated instead of welcomed. The food quality was also far below what we have experienced in past years. The crusted snapper that was recommended to us was terrible and had to be sent back. My grandson's burger was also very poor quality and honestly unpleasant. The only dishes our table generally agreed were decent were the squash casserole bowl and the chicken parmesan. Another disappointment was learning that bread is no longer served. For families with children, that was always something simple that helped while waiting on meals. Between the removal of those small touches, the higher prices, and the noticeable decline in food quality, the restaurant no longer feels worth returning to. I'm not writing this to get anyone in trouble. I'm writing because this restaurant used to be one of the highlights of our vacation every year, and it is frustrating to see the experience decline this much. Chris Tomlinson
