We had dinner at Cafe 30A during our family vacation, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience felt special. The atmosphere is elegant and refined, offering a true fine dining experience, but it's still comfortable and welcoming. Many guests were dressed in nice shorts and resort attire, so there's no need to feel overly formal. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We highly recommend the crab soup and the crab cake--both were absolutely exceptional. For our entrees, the seared tuna and the seared scallops were perfectly prepared and among the best we've had. While the dessert menu is somewhat limited, both desserts we ordered were delicious and a wonderful way to end the meal. The real standout, though, was our server, Nancy. She struck the perfect balance between attentive service and giving us space to enjoy our evening. Her warm personality and genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable while allowing our family to relax and enjoy a wonderful dinner together with our two teenage daughters. I have mixed feelings about this place. My food was very good and they were able to accommodate my husband's extreme food allergies (gluten, dairy, etc.). I got the lobster in paradise and the arugula salad and both were delicious! My husband got the filet and asparagus and while it was prepared safely, it was his least favorite steak of the trip. Our waitress was great and very friendly! However, when we got to the hostess stand and gave them our name, the employees at the stand seemed to be bickering a bit and we weren't sure if it was related to my husbands allergies/where to seat us or something else, but it made us a little nervous. The happy hour deals are amazing and people line up at the door at open for the $6 martini special (bar only - but you can get up and walk over there). So flavorful and rich. Our waiter brought us extra bread so we didn't waste a drop of it. The ceviche also a big hit. The she crab soup was rich and creamy and FULL of crab. Gosh where do I start. This place is just absolutely amazing! I mean, first of all, the service was amazing. He was very kind and very serving. The ambiance was just amazing, we sat upstairs and had a nice view 2nd floor view. For appetizers we had some complimentary bread with a balsamic, oil, and seasoning dip that really tied it over. We also had the mussels which were my absolute favorite from the whole experience, I love mussels and these were the best I have ever had. For my main course I had the crab cake entree, and for me I am not the biggest fan of crab cakes ever, but they were so good. They weren't the most fishiest ever which made it way more appetizing. The soup was my favorite crab soup out of the 3 I tried around 30a. We got the shrimp carbonara and shrimp and grits for our entrees. The carbonara portion was huge. Definitely enough to split with someone and still have leftovers. We were pretty stuffed and nothing piqued our interest so we passed on dessert. The server was nice and attentive. Appetizers came out pretty quick. The complimentary bread was good. Our only criticism was that the shrimp came with the tails on so we can get our hands dirty with sauce to remove the tails off. Not going to deduct points for it as it seems like everywhere in 30a serves shrimp with tails but my southern husband was disappointed by it at a nice restaurant. We will definitely be back on future trips to 30a. The hostess told me happy birthday as we entered, but there was no other mention of it outside of that (which was a bit of a bummer). The food, on the other hand, was amazing! We started with a caprese salad, which was a special that night. It was super fresh and light. My husband got the Maine Lobster in Paradise, and I got the Crab Cake Entrée. We really enjoyed both dishes, but we both agreed the crab cakes were the better of the two. They were loaded with crab and cooked to perfection. The sauce on top was delicious, and I loved the simple green beans and potatoes it came with. 10/10 dish. The lobster dish was great, but I think we would've preferred it with something different (rather than the pasta). Nonetheless, we both cleaned our plates! Prices were high but to be expected. Our waiter was great...had been with the restaurant forever...was great at making suggestions, offering alterative ideas to entrees, and making the dinner flow well. Lamb appetizer was ordered rare but arrived medium...really the only disappointment of the whole meal. It did have a good flavor, though. The tuna entree was perfect. I was allowed to alter the pasta entree by subbing fried lobster tail for the clams. It was huge and delicious. We didn't have room for the bread pudding but it sounded amazing. It was our second time dining here. This time was just as good as the first, 18 months ago...i guess the service and food here are dependably good which is hard to come by. We go to Europe often and enjoy the service there where someone isn't coming up to us every five minutes and interrupting us, our server was perfect, he was always near and eager to help, but he would see we were in conversation and he wouldn't interrupt and it didn't feel like he was trying to rush us in and out. He gave us really good insight on the menu when we were going over things and his recommendations were so well put and the food quality and playing looked amazing. The burrata didn't have much flavor. - Grilled Filet Mignon ($55): The steak was vet tender, but I wasn't a huge fan of the Worcestershire reduction. The potato pavé was finely layered. - Seared Sea Scallops ($42): The scallops were not as buttered as I would've liked. We really enjoyed the pineapple and coconut rice and pineapple salsa were very good though! - Truffled Mac 'n' Cheese ($12): Too heavy on the peas and tomatoes. Good flavor though. - Chocolate Torte ($12): Not a fan at all. The pistachios on top were too much. We couldn't really taste the chocolate. The whipped cream and strawberries were good though!
