we went there based on a recommendation by a friend who has been right on the mark with previous recommendation. But this place missed the mark. we shared fried calamari which was fresh out of the box. I ordered chicken parmigiana as the entree which was nothing more than chicken breast covered with sauce and cheese. my wife ordered a shrimp dish. a few hours later she had food poisoning. was it a direct result of her entree?? we'll never know. we'll cross this restaurant off the list. read more

My husband and I had a great meal there last night, my GW salad with chicken was great and huge, so big I have lunch for today. We sat outside and my only complaint was the noise from the street and the uncomfortable chair read more

Over the top amazing...is the best way to describe this restaurant. I recently worked a birthday party as the photographer and was entirely impressed with the ambiance, outstanding service, and delicious food. I highly recommend George White if you're looking for a fabulous restaurant to dine at or host a party. You and your guests will be blown away by the entire experience. This family owned business is extremely top notch in every possible regard. read more

This restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining! We enjoyed a weeknight dinner outside. The waitress, Jackie, was attentive and personable. The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered the chili pop - fried calamari, shrimp and scallop combo which was crunchy and dressed in a perfect chili aioli sauce. For dinner we had a side order of one of the best roasted Brussels sprouts I've had; they had the perfect char and flavor. The two entrees: the Scallops Risotto, perfectly seared large scallops atop a lobster risotto. There were chucks of lobster in the risotto, the chef did not skimp, with a squeeze of the charred lemon, this meal met expectations and more. The other was Chicken Saltimboca, a tender and juicy chicken breast layered with prosciutto and fontina. The mashed potatoes we light and creamy. So tasty and savory, I couldn't stop stealing bites from across the table. There was no room for dessert, but the dirty martinis and old fashions were the nightcap. Don't drive past here without stopping by for a bite! read more

Great food and incredible service. We were a party of 6 that stopped by for dinner on a Thursday. Food was delicious, great presentation. We were celebrating a birthday and the folks at George White all made it very special. Highly recommend. read more

It is no secret that the food is very good and offers something for everyone. This was not our first time but I had to comment on the service. They really knew how to take care of us. We "settled" for a booth on a Saturday night but the wait staff knew we preferred a table. After drinks were served (lychee martini was amazing) they asked us if we wanted to move. More work for them but so much nicer for us. Kudos to every server, bus, runner, etc... friendly with just the right amount of contact. Glad it is fairly close to where we live. read more

George White Resturant 33 Berry Hill Rd Syosset NY. My wife and I went last night. I never go out on Valentine's Day but changed my mind to do something different for this year. I am so happy I did. We were met by the owner who introduced himself and shook my hand. I advised him I was early and we wanted to sit and have a drink first. He escorted us to the bar and advised me our table will be ready when ever we were. So far very impressed. We ordered drinks, the pours were large and the taste was perfect. $15 each per drink but it was worth it. Plenty of alcohol went into each drink. When we were done we paid our tab and the owner saw us stand up. He escorted us through a beautiful Resturant. It was dimly lite when many red heart balloons all over the place. Soft music with todays singers playing through there speakers. We sat down and met the owners wife who was our server. Introduced herself and advised all the workers they were family members. we ordered and the apps came out right away and were delishish. It was quite and the music they had on was awesome for having a romantic dinner. I had the chilean Seabass and my wife had the surf and turf. Also delivered about 15 min after apps. She checked on us several times to see that we were happy. Oh wait I forgot about the bread. Mmmmmm hot and delicious. Also home made. Time now over 2 hours and so relaxed. Ordered desert that they designed which was cannoli cream with strawberries and chocolate peices. It was delishish. We paid our bill and as we were leaving we spoke to both husband and wife owners who you can see they really love what they do. We will 100% go back and also recommend our family and friends to do the same. Thank you read more

George White - Booth - New American Near Me - Syosset, New York

My family and I went for Christmas Eve dinner. The food was delicious and the ambience was cozy and festive. However, we felt very rushed by our server who lurked repeatedly and didn't allow even a few minutes for us to linger and enjoy. Most of the staff incessantly stared and you could just sense they wanted to turn the table quickly which was really off putting, especially on such a special occasion. read more

Me and Buddy Danny came here last night to have dinner to service was excellent the food was out of this world ..mussels pot with tomatoes sauces was fresh as can be ..taste of the ocean ,surf chill pop was good (could be more spicy ) and the linguine do Pesce the pasta was perfectly cook . Make sure you request Lindi as your server.... The guys knows the menu inside and out. Can wait till next visit read more

A very disappointing dinner. If you have a prix-fixe menu, it should be offered to all tables at all times. Food is significantly overpriced. $15 for 4 thin slices of mozzarella with underripe tomatoes to decorate the plate. Desserts were not restaurant quality or homemade. Significantly overpriced entrees with smallish portions. Bread was good, but not replenished when requested twice. This was someone else's choice and we will not be back. One and done! read more

We used to love this local restaurant. It seems things have changed quite a bit since the new owner took over. Many changes in the menu, food, quality and taste although the same lovely GM/hostess is there. It feels like they are cutting corners on ingredients, quality and portion size. Food is not as interesting, as flavorful and although we were told the same chef was there, he/she can't possibly work 7 nights a week. Maybe we had the B team. Very disappointed in two entrees and an appetizer. They have added a $20 dinner prix fix which we didn't try even though it seemed like a great deal. Almost too good to be true! I'm very sorry to say I'm not sure if we'll ever go back. read more

I had gone in George Whites for meatloaf it's very good and I take out regularly from there.Frank is a very good server and friend he came back and told me I had to eat at the bar I couldn't take it out.I am single and never eat at a bar and in the past I had taken out specials before. So I didn't want anything else and politely left. The bartender could also wear more clothes on top this is a family Restaurant high class and she exposes her breast allthe time. With all the money she makes from the men that come to see her and after hours she can afford to get some decent clothes.Really Jackie you should think about it PTA moms all agreed.Frank was a great server and was annoyed at Jackie because she was paying attention to her customers and not getting him his cocktail orders fast enough and guests were pissed, with her appearance she should be dismissed and working in a bar. After years of visiting this same location under the banner of Mim's and George Martin's Grillfire, the new George White restaurant is refreshing! Although the menu may appear similiar to some, it is very different and the quality of food is much better. What's notable is the step up in service. The wait staff is much better! I enjoyed a scampi mussels appetizer and a lobster ravioli entre. The creme brule was the perfect finish to a really good meal! My wife had a burger which she ranked as one of the best she's had in awhile. The prices were fair. We had not been here in several months, but we went last night with friends. The food was off the charts, the service unbelievable and just an awesome night. This place was taken over this past June by new owners and the owner, Frankie is extremely gracious and came by several times to make sure we were happy. The servers are top notch and work very well together. A special shout out to our server, Frank. We had everything from Mussels and brussels sprouts to start to steak, chicken specials, and linguini with white clam sauce and we all agreed the food was fantastic and we will be back. Absolutely recommend this place. read more

I was there on Friday night with a party of 6 and loved it!!! I had a burger and it was delicious. The quality of the meat was unbelievable!!! Went to George White restaurant tonight for the first time. Started off with French onion soup, which led to bruschetta and onion, with balsamic vinegar. Drizzle on the amazing flatbread, then I had stuffed fillet of soul with shrimp and crab meat, that came with sautéed spinach and garlic and oil, and little baby potatoes. It was the best dinner I have had in a really long time. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The staff, the owner, the bartender, the service, and the food is top notch. This will not disappoint! read more

Frankie, Kathy, Nick and the whole family (new owners) make you feel like a part of their family at this hidden gem in Syosset. First time we went was on lunar new year in 2021 and since then have been in at a minimum every week (if not more often). EVERYTHING is delicious, and the specials menu which is different each week never disappoints. Whether you are in the mood for a lobster, a burger, sesame crusted tuna, or my favorite a veal chop (any style they make) you will find something delicious to enjoy. And if you are in the mood for a libation, the drinks are a plenty. Trust me, once you go, you will be hooked. BTW, BEST VODKA SAUCE ON LI! read more

Just returned home from lunch at George Martin. The time there was worthy of a review, The atmosphere presents as warm and inviting upon entering. Quickly, you are greeted and asked what your seating preference is Drink orders are taken quickly and delicious, warm bread is offered. We chose off the Prix - Fixe Restaurant week menu. There was an array of items to pick from, giving everyone in my party many choices.. The first course we all chose salads. They were dressed with just the right amount of dressing and the salads were fresh and vibrant. Our second course arrived soon after our dishes were cleared. My husband ordered the Prime Burger, which he said, perfectly fit the bun.. not being too small or sliding off the bun. It was cooked perfectly and the accompanying french fries were hot and crisp. The chicken parmigiana dish , served with a side of spaghetti was also tasty and well proportioned. My dish, Sole Francese was tender and nicely presented on a fish shaped dish. Mashed potatoes and sliced zucchini also came with it. While the sauce may have been a tad too salty for my taste, it was still a delicious dish with leftover's to take home. Our server was super friendly and the owner also checked on us to make sure everything was fine. They even sang Happy Birthday to the birthday girl. I would easily recommend this restaurant . Our experience was great and we look forward to returning again! Thank you! read more

Had our wedding reception dinner at George white in Syosset. Without a doubt one of the most memorable day of our lives and GW made the dinner experience delightful. The food tasted unbelievable. The staff ( Frank & Fran and the other person i forgot his name ) and service were HANDS DOWN the best we've ever experienced. They cater to your every need. True professionals and masters of their craft. Highly recommend! They even provided us with a personalized menu of our exact meal to commemorate the evening. Really can't say enough about them. Delicious food, great service...very friendly! Prix fix menu is a great deal! We'll be back!

Would give it zero stars if I could. Unbelievable, unacceptable experience. We had someone with us who had a severe nut allergy, they ordered the bread pudding for dessert and asked specifically that there were no nuts. The waitress assured him there were no nuts without checking. He was then eating the dessert and spit out a walnut. The dessert was full of nuts. When the waitress was told she apologized and said "the chef should tell us this"????? The managers were the biggest idiots ever and said "mistakes happen and they hope nothing severe happens to him. He took Benadryl and now we are on the way to the emergency room with his throat swelling. This was the worst experience ever and the staff did absolutely nothing they should have read more

Cockroach in my daughter's water... After the rude host (who stunk of cigarette smoke and didn't even look up to greet us) shooed us to a booth in the front we sat and wondered why the restaurant was so empty. We decided it was because it was early evening on a Sunday. A nice waiter came and took our drink and app order. A few minutes after getting our drinks my younger child noticed something in my older child's drink. My husband investigated and found it was indeed a cockroach. He immediately brought it up to the bar and cancelled our order. We left disgusted. Only until we got home we realized we should have snapped a pic. We realize that all restaurants may be susceptible to rats and roaches but IN THE WATER?? That is absolutely unacceptable, how close are these things to the actual food and utensils etc. Never going here again. read more
