We opted for the 4 course pre-fixe for $105 which includes two appetizers, entree and dessert. We had oysters, bucatini with clams, cheese board and roasted mushrooms for apps, all good. Branzino and pork chop were up next, also quite tasty. Apple strudel was good tho the banana pudding was skippable. They comped us a champagne toast which was nice. Was going with friends to a book reading/signing in the area. When they asked what place to go too prior to our book event, I knew I had to come back here. 2 Spring is special. Is it the delicious food? Maybe the sophisticated yet sleek ambiance. I don't know what it is, but they got it and I love it. And I love showing them off to others. On a cold Tuesday night, it was pretty empty. I really hope the summer months are better to them. The table-side bread basket was amazing. We each got to pick which sort of bread we wanted. There was sourdough, focaccia and others. I went with the focaccia and never looked back. Burrata and beets, Brussels sprouts and salmon that was cooked perfectly was enjoyed while the specialty cocktails were sipped. We had all the attention of the staff being the only diners in there. 2 Spring Oyster Bay - amazing experience. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, the service was impeccable. It started with our waiter Brendan who went above and beyond to make sure we understood the menu, our selections, paced the meal perfectly, went to retrieve my husbands glasses from his checked coat, and even removed an up charge when he sensed I was less than 100% happy with one of my appetizer choices (I did not complain). We did the 4 course price fix menu ($110) which I highly recommend. Everything was delicious - especially the mushrooms and the mafalde short rib apps (off the charts flavor) the duck entree and the apple strudel dessert. Just a great meal all around, and well worth it. Plenty of food and my husband is a big eater. Oh and our two specialty cocktails were perfect and not overly expensive. Every year, in the days before Christmas, my husband and I take our kids out for a nice dinner somewhere. This year, we went to 2 Spring, a place we've visited once before, so we knew how good this place is. I see a few bad reviews here pertaining to the service, and I'm honestly surprised by that. The service when we were there (a moderately busy Sunday evening) was wonderful-- attentive but not intrusive, leisurely without forgetting about us. Our waiter was absolutely terrific. Anyway, on to the food. All four of us chose the 4-course prix fixe menu, which is pricey of course but actually a good deal if you calculate the prices for each course individually (there's a 6-course tasting menu that looked interesting too). Before the courses began, we were each given a bite-sized tart with ricotta and chives to try, and we were offered a choice of focaccia, sourdough, or a milk dinner roll from a bread basket. It would take too long to review each item the four of us tried over a series of four courses, but I will say there was not a single miss among all those dishes. Some standouts include the fried chicken appetizer (crispy and so well-seasoned), the mafalde with short rib ragu appetizer (just outstanding), the salmon entree (fresh and perfectly cooked), and the s'mores dessert (just a great combination of flavors). After dessert, we were each given a brownie bite infused with chili pepper-- wow! We will most certainly be back to this gem of a restaurant! read more

A friend and I arrived for lunch at 2:00 pm on a Saturday. They were still serving brunch and told us the lunch menu was unavailable. The place was crowded and loud. We were seated upstairs since there appeared to be a party occupying the main floor. The ambiance of the place was completely overcome by the loud noise. In any event, we stayed and I ordered what turned out to be a greasy fried chicken patty sandwich and my friend ordered a salad with salmon that didn't appeal to her upon its arrival. Breaks our heart to give this review as 2 Spring has been our go to for fine dining in Nassau for the past 6 years. We decided to brunch here today with the kids to celebrate some great awards and the end of successful school plays and curricular. We had been wanting to come back for quite a while, but honestly the restaurant scene in Nassau has never been better. Regardless we came for the brunch. Reservation was made on open table and we arrived right on the dot. We were greeted by the host (one we did not recognize from past visits) and seated in their upper level. Which is always cozy. Service was nice albeit slow. The menu sounds good, though in the past they have had the same menu for dinner with additional brunch items, and this was a different menu altogether peppered with 2-3 of their regular offerings. My son ordered the Bone Marrow app and crispy chicken sandwich. Bone Marrow was tasty however there was hardly more than 1 teaspoonful of Marrow. We have ordered this in the past and it was delicious and a fair quantity. Sure this is dependent on the bone however if you are serving this as a dish, you would assume they would ensure bones selected for this specific dish will have appropriate amount of edible parts. This was extremely disappointing and obvious as they included more of the jam on top to cover the lack of Marrow. His spicy chicken sandwich was quite good, crispy and well seasoned. I ordered the fried chicken with Yuzu appetizer and caramelized onion burger with fries. Both of these while good. The cucumber sauce included with the fried chicken app was a touch watery and bland. Burger and fries were good. My daughter ordered the Parker house rolls with caviar and all American breakfast. Both were very good. My husband ordered the pancake with caviar and cacio e pepe, These are regular on the menu as well and also very good. The biggest disappointments came with drinks. We opted for mocktails at first, but one tasted like a very watered down chai and the other tasted like pure lemon juice. We all tasted them and everyone agreed with this assessment. Shocking since we normally love all their drinks. I decided to then try the Poets ink drink but they were missing some of its components. So I opted for the sweet teddy bear. Took them 15 mins to bring it out and at $25 for this "fancy" cocktail. It was very underwhelming and tasted like mezcal with a touch of blood orange juice. For dessert we tried one of each of their offerings, they were fine, they did bring us a trio of sorbets complimentary as we were celebrating multiple wins for the kids. That was very nice of them. Overall though the desserts were OK for satisfying the sweet tooth. While some of the dishes were quite good, the food and service were so underwhelming for what we know they are capable of, we can't imagine going back again for this type of experience at this price point. There are too many new places on the island to try. I know they have branched out into new types of markets and hoping once established they will resume the standard they set for themselves in years past. Always wish them lots of luck. read more

Appetizer: *Fried Chicken (2 small pieces) $20 - it's okay, juicy, could be crispier. Tartar auce was pretty good. *Bone Marrow Toast $23 - can pass on this, average and bland. *Roasted Mushroom $26 - good, the sauce was vinegary. *Octopus $28 - one small leg, fried whole, tender, not bad. *French Fries $15 - it was good but wow $15 for French Fries? Entree (both are terrible, and so ugly that they just tossed 2 eggs and some mixed green on top to cover it.) *White Bean Cassoulet - tasted like it's from can tomato and can beans, tossed with randomly cut vegetables, a dish with no soul and no cohesion. *Lobster Hash - lobster was very fishy (ew) and texture was rubbery. Service: mostly sloppy, untrained staff, no care. Waiter 1 - checked in with our reservation but he seems doesn't care much. Waiter 2 - our main waiter, friendly but you can tell he's clueless. Untrained. Waitress 3 - we started of our water with room temp still bottle. She was pushy to open the second bottle, sure, she brought us a iced one. We said we have room temp., She goes this is lightly chilled and just poured and walked away. Never came back to refill the water after she opened the second one that's not what we wanted. This place is beautiful and the customer service is amazing! We went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and the staff was attentive and recommended a great wine option. However, we were talked into doing the "chefs tasting" which was explained as an innovative tasting that the chef would make a dish off the menu. Everything was basically what was already on the menu just prepared a slightly different way. That was disappointing. The four of us shared a small app, two had cheeseburgers with fries (no substitutions allowed), and two shared a grilled sandwich not that good. Middle of the Road: Scottish Salmon..small piece, not much flavor; nothing around it..like veggies.. MISSES: Chicken Milanese, which was deep fried; again, nothing with it..just a sad piece of pounded down fried chicken (which my wife does not eat). Desserts were weak too; the "S'Mores" was a micro scoop of vanilla ice cream with a dab of marshmallow and something else--graham crax? Couldn't tell. Service was incredibly bad; waitress showed us the bottle of wine we ordered, then disappeared for 10 minutes; only when I got up to get the wine, did she pour it..brought the wrong desserts; never brought the bottled water we ordered. As for the wine, the wine list was VERY thin and wildly expensive; for California Cabs (only 5 choices), the prices were from $250-500. We ordered a bottle of Mark West Pinot Noir for $64..it retails for $9, a sad 700% upcharge.. We haven't been here for 10+ years; now we know why. We will never go back here. read more

Maybe like a 3.5 - but let's start with the positives. The vibes are super cool and chic and the staff is super friendly. This is suppose to be a fine(ish) dining experience so with that a higher price tag is expected with some really good quality food and experience. Unfortunately both of these areas kind of fell a little flat. We ended up getting the 4 course menu - which was fine and actually plenty of food. The cocktails are delicious and strong - which i like and appreciate for the 20$ price tag. But our starting plate took way longer than it should have and they ended up mixing up our orders and ended up having to wait even longer. Another plate ordered was a mushroom dish where some of those mushrooms were easily overcooked and tasted straight burnt. I had wanted truffle on my strip steak but they ended up also sizing up my steak - which i didn't know about or ask for and didn't notice till after the fact (which makes me wonder what the smaller steak looked like lol). The dessert was a smores dessert with another ice cream gelato thing - which the smores was great. Overall the food was generally OK with a few highlights of ice cream, fried chicken and paccheri - but they also had some low lights. They did make up for the confusion and waiting by comping items and giving us a gift card but wish the food was higher quality for the price. read more

What an incredible evening last night for a dinner outing in Oyster Bay. I've heard good things about 2 Spring from friends and colleagues, so last night was the night to stop in for a dinner session. Originally we had a reservation for 2 outside at 6pm, but after looking through the place earlier in the day we decided we would eat inside and see if we can move our rez. Originally the host couldn't make it happen, but the manager was right next to her and he came over to talk to us and said he can make it happen if we switch the rez to 5. We said no problem and it actually worked out better for us. The place is gorgeous, clean, aesthetically pleasing, and the servers/staff are extremely professional, friendly, and excel at their jobs. Our server was down to earth, informative, and helpful in making food selections. We both decided that the Pre-Fix for $90 was the way to go, and everything we had was exceptionally delicious. The Hamachi was fresh, delightful, and very enjoyable, helped to set the tone. The Tuna was very good, apparently the little chip on the top really tied the flavor together for the dish. The Bucatini was good, my gf said it was a little on the salty side but didn't effect the dish too much, we still ate all of it lol. The Mushroom was delicious, big mushroom fan, and this was a lot of mushrooms. The Steak Frites didn't impress me much, I've had better steaks elsewhere, so that was the one weak link in the chain. The duck was incredible, my favorite dish, juicy, flavorful, great sauce, and when mixed with the Mashed absolute perfection. The Smores was sweet and crunchy, light and a great wrap up for the meal. Of course we had an Espresso Martini and Irish Coffee to end the meal perfectly. Wonderful restaurant, a home run, the closest dining experience on Long Island that resembles elite Manhattan dining, this is comparable with my other favorite Hamptons restaurant, Star Boggs. 5 stars. One of long islands finest with Iron Chef winner Jessie Schenker at the helm. There's a lot to love from the snazzy interior to the fab floral exterior. This spot fills a much needed farm to table void in Long Island and some of the rewards are great. Ate: Housemade sourdough and housemade butter Big eye tuna Icelandic cod with caviar butter Ny Strip Sardinian red Total: $142 before tax and tip The bread and butter are off the charts. Reynard in Williamsburg made their butter and it is very rewarding. The wine was excellent. The server was super accommodating but the hostess was off putting when arriving on time for our reservation. The big eye tuna lacked punch and the steak was cooked sous vide -not an ideal preparation and at $55 served with charred scallions the dish was underwhelming. We brought my daughter here for dinner last night and sat outside under a warm heat lamp and headed blankets. Our waiter was very attentive and informative without being overbearing. The bus staff is the same and everyone wears masks. I had a delicious Sicilian Sauvignon blanc and we shared 3 wonderful appetizers, Bluefin tuna tartare, beet cured salmon and hamachi crudo with a well crafted jalapeño tomato salsa They had duck and I had veggie bisque with prawns which was filling but not as depth in flavor. . Side dishes were next to main ones WITHOUT any prices...my wife asked server if it was included in the price of the main and was told YES. Bill came and it was $15 EACH for side of broccoli. Pre COVID-19, I wouldn't dream of sitting outside a New York restaurant in mid November. 2 Spring gets it right with social distancing, hand sanitizer, spaced tables. And with heating lamps EVERYWHERE and lambs wool seat covers with a burlap sack motif to keep cozy on a day like today. 5 stars for Covid- care and outdoor seating comfort. My bestie and I ordered from their brunch menu, which is a little pricey, but that's why they're able to have comfortable outdoors seating this time of year, during a pandemic. It's a splurge for me, but worth it . We tasted their $14 Sangiovese and $16 Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley and the Sangiovese was more to our liking. Their cheeseburger was like steak tartare (I asked for it medium rare) and the arugula and fries were good. The food was 4.5 stars as was the service. I'd come again on a nice day to eke out another day of outdoor dining as the pandemic looms over us again. This place pulls out all the stops and would likely still have outdoor seating when other restaurants have closed their outdoor seating. If I have to pay a little extra for that, so be it. read more

I don't have the time, so I usually write only if I have had a bad experience or am mad! My experience was over a month ago, but I have been traveling and have not had a chance sooner. But I thought this was something I will never forget. I booked with 2 Spring online, way in advance, for an occasion, and I even called and was assured of a main dining table. I have eaten here twice before and thought it was good enough to return (maybe 3.5-4 out of 5) . When I arrived, they gave me the table by the door/by the bar! I asked for the manager to let him know that I have booked for a main dining table and his only reply was "it is full". It was unacceptable, so I said I was leaving. And he said, "You're leaving just because of that?" Wow - I don't know what to make of this guy. The attitude!!! So brass and disrespectful, trying to call others' attention. Instead of being apologetic, he had the nerve to be mad and told us never to come back. I told him I'd write this up, and he said, "Sure," and repeated, "Don't come back". Can I ask the owners to investigate and, at the same time, get me out off their mailing list promoting this and their other restos, Gioia and Chef Counter, if they cannot address this incident???? Besides, your manager just told me to "never come back"! ***People - If you are thinking of going to this resto - think twice. Our starter were the fries and fried chicken. The fries were tasty and not overly salted. The fries chicken was super good, highly recommend. My entree ended up being the spare rib hash. Let me preface by saying that I'm not against spending $600 for dinner as long as you can back it up. That being said, this place did not even come close to living up to expectations. I'll start off with the positives - the sommelier was great in helping us choose a great wine and the French fries were delicious, along with the s'mores and fried chicken. Everything else was either very salty or mediocre at best. This is coming from someone who loves a heavy amount of over seasoning on my food. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my gf. We arrived 20 minutes early to a mostly empty restaurant. We were escorted to the second floor, when we asked if it was possible to sit in the atrium given no one was there. We were told that those tables were reserved for larger parties. They cooped us in the corner next to the glass wall by the stairs and it was very uncomfortable. Literally the worst table available in a mostly empty restaurant. There was only one other couple on the floor with us. Throughout the night, they were giving 4 seater tables to parties of 2 throughout the restaurant so that just seemed unfair and it felt like a slap in the face. All of our food and drinks could barely fit on the table, meanwhile other parties of 2 with the larger tables barely ordered any food. Flatbread - decent but salty Goat cheese roll - salty Various breads - cold and tacky Pancake - cancelled the order Cocktails - hilariously tiny portions for $18 Caesar salad - tastes like a salt bomb Fried chicken - very good but small portions Bucatini & clams - another salt bomb Prime strip steak - nothing special but seasoned well. The sauce was mediocre. Dry aged duck - a bit bland and the sauce was mediocre French fries - good, cooked in lard S'mores - very good, hot & cold with multiple textures The staff was attentive but it also felt like we were being rushed.
