My husband and I finally had the opportunity to visit Schultzy"s Restaurant not once but twice this past weekend! The first time we arrived without a reservation and we asked if Jimmy was there and was informed he wasn't - we shared our long history of his many backyard raw bars for our family parties. The staff was happy to help us and low and behold a cancelled reservation gave us our perfect table. I actually got teary eyed as a looked around the beautiful restaurant that truly compliments the amazing food. We returned the next day before a wedding to finally see Jimmy for amazing raw bar and a delicious lobster roll and cocktails. I will travel from NJ for Schultzy's again and again. This man is passionate about his craft and takes pride in serving his customers phenomenal food. Thank you Schultzy! read more

Thank you to Jim, Bella, and team. We showed up without a reservation and they were able to make room for us. The food was spectacular and I really loved the music. Their service was impecable. If I lived here, I would be a regular. I came in looking for local Long Island seafood and they did not disappoint. We will be back! read more

This place is good not great. Idk the vibes seemed a little off to me and the lunch wasn't that memorable. Not 100% how good the seafood quality is either. Fries were rly good though read more

Schultzy's Restaurant - Po boy - Seafood Near Me - Bayville, New York

Schultz's is that great local spot where everyone is warm and welcoming. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and seated at a table. It can get pretty crowded and loud. The wait staff is incredible and attentive. I had the rum punch special drink and the mussels in red sauce. The mussels come in a pot super fresh and hot! The flavors are incredible and I had to ask for more bread to dip into the sauce. Love getting fresh fish so close to home any time of year. read more

SHAME ON YOU, SCHULTZY'S. Contradictions? Absolutely. If you tell your server you are celebrating a birthday, the warm lobster roll will be as good as any served up in Maine. Come back a second time with another family member's birthday, you'll experience the same generous serving and freshness. So, tell me why, all the other times I order a warm lobster roll, it is served up overcooked and dry in shriveled tiny pieces. Even when I agreed to a $20.00 UPCHARGE because I craved more lobster. What I got instead was tattered, tiny pieces and an unapologetic, arrogant owner. Since this has happened multiple times - I can only theorize that meat in the warm lobster roll is "re-purposed and reused" from leftovers - perhaps the menu's lobster bisque. No wonder it is frequently dry and overcooked. See several earlier YELP reviews for similar comments about overcooked, underwhelming pieces of lobster meat. Shame on you, Schultzy's. You can and should do better. read more

3.5 With summer here, who doesn't crave a lobster roll or a good po' boy? When you search for seafood spots on the North Shore of Nassau, this place ranks near the top--so we decided to make the trip out to Bayville. The restaurant fits perfectly in its coastal small-town setting. You can smell the saltwater in the air and expect good seafood. As soon as you walk in, you get that fresh seafood aroma (in a good way), notice the blue and gray decor, and see the bar with a raw bar to the right. Our waiter was super friendly and walked us through the specials and menu. We ordered Schultzy's baked clams, a lobster roll, and a shrimp po' boy. The baked clams were fantastic--probably some of the best I've ever had, no joke. Perfect seasoning, breadcrumb texture, and generous clam bits in a nice shell. The shrimp po' boy was also great, with perfectly crispy breading. Where we felt a bit let down was the lobster roll and the fries. At $38, it seemed like they used barely half of a 1.25 lb lobster. Was it cooked and seasoned well? Yes. But for that price, the portion was underwhelming. The fries were also a miss. Although they looked like steak fries but were thinner. Unfortunately, they seemed like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp and weren't freshly made. Overall, not a bad spot if you're okay with the pricing. The atmosphere and service are great, and definitely check out the clams and po' boy. read more

We came here for lunch today and ordered the clam chowder, lobster roll and Greek salad. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The clam chowder was tasty but on the thinner side vs creamy. Greek salad was great and we got the blackened chicken on top. Where we were disappointed, was the lobster roll. We ordered it CT style. For $38 the roll was not filled with 1.5 lbs of lobster meat and it was really over cooked and dry. The fries / chips that come with it were excellent though. read more

I am retired do tend to eat early. They only do a lunch menu until 3:30 and then they close till 5:00. That was disappointing as lunch menu is pretty limited. High prices to go with high quality food. Small place that can get pretty noisy. read more

This review is for Melvin and Jimmy specifically... Anybody else reading please move on... Dear Melvin, The halibut you made was actually the best fish I have had in a long time. My boyfriend and I still talk about that dish and honestly it's been months! Actually everything we had that night was delicious. The coconut shrimp was also incredible! Def a must! Jimmy, whatever is in that Gin and Prosecco drink took me out I had two. I shouldn't have. It was delicous though so thanks ! For people looking to come here who kept reading... What really sealed this 5 star deal is the conversation we had with the Schultzy himself was top tier. His family happened to be at the bar and it was just such a great experience. He shared about how it all came together and was so kind and personable. Overall a wonderful random date night. Things we didn't necessarily love... The space is small. If you want a table, make a reservation it was so busy on a week night but we don't mind sitting at the bar. Tne hostess claimed there was nothing available but there were empty tables in the rear of the restaurant. Idk what that's about. She also could have been warmer. All in all... Great chefs & great service. Great decor inside. Cute casual attire. Good for intimate gatherings. First dates. Girls night. Will be back! read more

Schultzy's Restaurant - Seafood Near Me - Bayville, New York

Great local Resturant but make a reservation. Place has great fresh food and a friendly staff. The only problem is that the location is very small and gets jammed. Great time if you can get in but not a place you just go to when you want read more

Stopped in for lunch to see what all the buzz is about. This little North Shore gem is what everyone says is and more. It is a small dining room, but tastefully done. First off the bartender/waiter welcomed us and introduced himself and sat us right away. The shrimp cocktail was "steakhouse" size with a spicy cocktail sauce. Baked clams were loaded with flavor and had a hint of clam chowder taste. The shrimp Po' boy was delicious. My only knock would be the sauce had no kick to it. It was not a remoulade, but still tasty. I will definitely be coming back to try the dinner menu! read more

Loved this small fish centric restaurant in Bayville. We went on a Thursday evening (5:30 reservation!) and it was packed by 6:00. I know why because the food is delicious. I had the halibut and it was the best I've ever had. Others had the octopus and fra diavolo pasta and loved them. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is busy but friendly. We'll be back read more

The food and service were impeccable. I ordered the Brussels sprouts, and kale salad, with the salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection, tender and not overdone at all. My husband ordered the cheeseburgers with fries. He loved his burger. The live music was also fantastic and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a place I'd come back to! read more

I can't say enough about Schultzy's. We have been going to the restaurant for years but never knew they did off site catering as well. This past weekend we had a party in our backyard for 150ppl and they knocked it out of the park. The food was prepared on site, was delicious and they were able to customize the menu to match the casual vibe of our event. From the lobster rolls and crab cakes to the egg sliders on pretzel rolls to the selection of satay's and salads, it all presented well and tasted great. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a party or if you just want a great night out in Bayville. read more

Went for lunch with my son and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and the freshness of the food. I will definitely be back.

Wonderful food, cute atmosphere and always pleasant service. The best fresh seafood you can find around this area.

Best seafood and oysters in Long Island. A hidden gem, worth the drive if you can get a reservation.

After driving 12 hours from Tennessee, there is only 1 place we HAD to have dinner, Shultzy's Restaurant! On a small corner in Bayville, NY, this quaint restaurant is serving up some GIANT flavors of the best seafood around! We started off with a dozen of their raw little neck clams that tasted like they were just caught out back. Being from Florida I didn't think I'd find them that good ever again. I was delightfully surprised when I found them better! So much better we ordered a second dozen. Next up was their Lobster and Shrimp bisque which had lumps of seafood with a creamy base. If I could live in the bowl I would've! My mom and I shared a lobster roll that was big enough to share! The lobster was cooked to perfection and was so buttery! My dad ordered their Fra Divalo Pasta which had more seafood than the bowl could hold. It was overflowing with mussels, clams, calamari, and jumbo shrimp! This is hands down a 10/10 restaurant where you feel like family and are treated as such! Make sure to say hi to Jimmy and tell him Gina and the family sent you! Be sure to come in hungry because you will leave with your stomach and your heart full! read more

Such a cute albeit small spot near the Sound in Bayshore. Everything from the food to the service was on point. The staff was very friendly and helpful (we had difficulty finding parking and the lot across the street was full so they gave us a tip on where we could find parking down the road - too bad it was pouring!). The place is modern and the bar was super packed when we first arrived - we had to push our way through to get to the hostess and be seated in the rear. Still, we had a great time. For starters we shared the fire roasted oysters... they were like heaven! We also shared the shrimp and lobster bisque - delicious. Even the warm rolls with herb butter were delicious. For my main I had the linguini fra diavola and my friend got the lobster roll. Both were superb and the portions plentiful. I didn't have enough room in my belly for dessert, but I'll definitely be back and look forward to trying something then! read more

Whenever I am visiting my mom in Bayville, we have to have at least one meal at Schultzy's. We have never been disappointed with the food or the service. We went for lunch on my most recent visit. We weren't too hungry so we asked if we could split an order. They did a beautiful job of plating a half order for each of us. I cannot recommend them too highly. read more

Schultzy's Restaurant - Seared scallops on risotto. - Seafood Near Me - Bayville, New York

Came in early on a Wednesday .. about 5:00pm...two employees were at front of house, a waitress and a busboy. The waitress was also the bartender, asked for a beer list .. after a 4 minute scramble, they found a list. All cans and bottles , which is fine, I asked about one of the beers on the list, the waitress/bartender had no idea what it was, or any other of the beers on their list, the type, where it was from etc. standard stuff. I asked if they trained or taught her about the list, she unabashedly said no. The oysters and clams are supposed to be good here, but after the interaction with these two, who, by the way, sat at the bar next to me the entire time I was there, I wasn't about to order anything else. Sorry for this revue, I didn't eat so can't revue the food, after the interaction and lack of knowledge of the staff , I didn't really feel like trying the food . read more

We've been waiting to try Schultzy's for awhile now and I'm happy we finally have last night. This is an amazing gem nestled in Bayville just over the bridge. The people and the service are just amazing and fantastic. The cold beer freezer cold that is are kick ass. We had the baked clams, and Brussels sprout & Kale salad just delicious. The baked clams are outrageously good the salad too. My wife had the crabmeat stuff shrimp and I had the crabmeat stuffed lobster it was a pound and a half both just outstanding and delicious cooked to perfection. The place is just fantastic you'd be remiss if you didn't have a meal here. This is another one of our favorite Oyster Bay joints that we will be eating at the rest of our lives. Had a reservation so we didn't have to sit at the bar. Impressed with the generosity from the bar - double sized drinks for the price of one The food was fabulous but people dont realize how expensive fish is. We had blue point oysters, clams that were fab, shrimp stuffed w crab (not canned). Service was superb, too many people if anything. When my water went down it was refilled. The bread rolls came straight out of the oven and were served with herb butter. Rolls were not reheated! I am enthusiastic I could tell its fresh bread. Took off 1 star because, though I sound like a broken record, it was definitely overpriced. read more
