The wait staff is incredible and attentive. I had the rum punch special drink and the mussels in red sauce. The mussels come in a pot super fresh and hot! When you search for seafood spots on the North Shore of Nassau, this place ranks near the top--so we decided to make the trip out to Bayville. The restaurant fits perfectly in its coastal small-town setting. You can smell the saltwater in the air and expect good seafood. As soon as you walk in, you get that fresh seafood aroma (in a good way), notice the blue and gray decor, and see the bar with a raw bar to the right. Our waiter was super friendly and walked us through the specials and menu. We ordered Schultzy's baked clams, a lobster roll, and a shrimp po' boy. The baked clams were fantastic--probably some of the best I've ever had, no joke. Perfect seasoning, breadcrumb texture, and generous clam bits in a nice shell. The shrimp po' boy was also great, with perfectly crispy breading. Where we felt a bit let down was the lobster roll and the fries. At $38, it seemed like they used barely half of a 1.25 lb lobster. Was it cooked and seasoned well? Yes. But for that price, the portion was underwhelming. The fries were also a miss. Although they looked like steak fries but were thinner. Unfortunately, they seemed like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp and weren't freshly made. Overall, not a bad spot if you're okay with the pricing. This review is for Melvin and Jimmy specifically... Anybody else reading please move on... Dear Melvin, The halibut you made was actually the best fish I have had in a long time. My boyfriend and I still talk about that dish and honestly it's been months! Actually everything we had that night was delicious. The coconut shrimp was also incredible! Def a must! Jimmy, whatever is in that Gin and Prosecco drink took me out I had two. I shouldn't have. It was delicous though so thanks ! For people looking to come here who kept reading... What really sealed this 5 star deal is the conversation we had with the Schultzy himself was top tier. His family happened to be at the bar and it was just such a great experience. He shared about how it all came together and was so kind and personable. Overall a wonderful random date night. Things we didn't necessarily love... The space is small. If you want a table, make a reservation it was so busy on a week night but we don't mind sitting at the bar. Stopped in for lunch to see what all the buzz is about. This little North Shore gem is what everyone says is and more. It is a small dining room, but tastefully done. First off the bartender/waiter welcomed us and introduced himself and sat us right away. The shrimp cocktail was "steakhouse" size with a spicy cocktail sauce. Baked clams were loaded with flavor and had a hint of clam chowder taste. The shrimp Po' boy was delicious. My only knock would be the sauce had no kick to it. After driving 12 hours from Tennessee, there is only 1 place we HAD to have dinner, Shultzy's Restaurant! On a small corner in Bayville, NY, this quaint restaurant is serving up some GIANT flavors of the best seafood around! We started off with a dozen of their raw little neck clams that tasted like they were just caught out back. Being from Florida I didn't think I'd find them that good ever again. I was delightfully surprised when I found them better! So much better we ordered a second dozen. Next up was their Lobster and Shrimp bisque which had lumps of seafood with a creamy base. If I could live in the bowl I would've! My mom and I shared a lobster roll that was big enough to share! The lobster was cooked to perfection and was so buttery! My dad ordered their Fra Divalo Pasta which had more seafood than the bowl could hold. It was overflowing with mussels, clams, calamari, and jumbo shrimp! Such a cute albeit small spot near the Sound in Bayshore. Everything from the food to the service was on point. The staff was very friendly and helpful (we had difficulty finding parking and the lot across the street was full so they gave us a tip on where we could find parking down the road - too bad it was pouring!). The place is modern and the bar was super packed when we first arrived - we had to push our way through to get to the hostess and be seated in the rear. Still, we had a great time. For starters we shared the fire roasted oysters... they were like heaven! We also shared the shrimp and lobster bisque - delicious. Even the warm rolls with herb butter were delicious. For my main I had the linguini fra diavola and my friend got the lobster roll. Both were superb and the portions plentiful. Whenever I am visiting my mom in Bayville, we have to have at least one meal at Schultzy's. We have never been disappointed with the food or the service. We went for lunch on my most recent visit. Came in early on a Wednesday .. about 5:00pm...two employees were at front of house, a waitress and a busboy. The waitress was also the bartender, asked for a beer list .. after a 4 minute scramble, they found a list. All cans and bottles , which is fine, I asked about one of the beers on the list, the waitress/bartender had no idea what it was, or any other of the beers on their list, the type, where it was from etc. standard stuff. I asked if they trained or taught her about the list, she unabashedly said no. The oysters and clams are supposed to be good here, but after the interaction with these two, who, by the way, sat at the bar next to me the entire time I was there, I wasn't about to order anything else. We've been waiting to try Schultzy's for awhile now and I'm happy we finally have last night. This is an amazing gem nestled in Bayville just over the bridge. The people and the service are just amazing and fantastic. The cold beer freezer cold that is are kick ass. We had the baked clams, and Brussels sprout & Kale salad just delicious. The baked clams are outrageously good the salad too. My wife had the crabmeat stuff shrimp and I had the crabmeat stuffed lobster it was a pound and a half both just outstanding and delicious cooked to perfection. The place is just fantastic you'd be remiss if you didn't have a meal here. This is another one of our favorite Oyster Bay joints that we will be eating at the rest of our lives. Impressed with the generosity from the bar - double sized drinks for the price of one The food was fabulous but people dont realize how expensive fish is. We had blue point oysters, clams that were fab, shrimp stuffed w crab (not canned). Service was superb, too many people if anything. When my water went down it was refilled. The bread rolls came straight out of the oven and were served with herb butter. Rolls were not reheated! I am enthusiastic I could tell its fresh bread.
