Order at counter deli with about ten tables. Turkey chili soup was delicious with fresh tomatoes, firm kidney beans, lots of ground turkey and hint of heat. Came with bread and a small corn muffin. The wait is ridiculous. It was like we were waiting for a full on tasting menu or something. We ordered a couple sandwiches and a nacho plate. I have no idea how making these things could possibly take 45 minutes. Sandwiches! And nachos! You just dump some chips on a plate and throw on the other stuff! Slap a few things in between two slices of bread! For the type of food it is, I had expected a quick meal in and out, as we were running late heading to the airport. If it was going to take so long I wish they had given us a heads up because we wouldn't have eaten here. The sandwiches were nothing special. I previously removed a star bc of the long wait time, but they have seriously improved! I still call in my orders but whenever they say it will be ready, it is! I've given this place a few chances and this will be the last. I waited over 30 minutes for 1 salad and 1 panini. The salad was mediocre at best. The french dip panini was atrocious. First of all, it wasn't even a panini it was a half burnt pita. The meat, was as tough as leather and vinegary. It was supposed to come with caramelized onions and cheese, there were probably 6 slivers of onions on the whole thing and the cheese was hard and rubbery. I won't even give this to my dog it's so bad. Don't waste your time and money on this place there are much better options in glen cove. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It's passed all the busier shopping centers in Glen Cove. I would never have thought to come here. But i decided to drive around and try a place I haven't been to. I'm glad I did. I ordered the chicken pesto panini. It was really good, but messy to eat. Not a huge deal, since it was delicious. BF ordered a chicken burrito of some sort. They had home made chips which were dope. Their homemade cole slaw is also pretty damn good. I need to give this place another try the next time I'm in the area. Tuscan chicken sandwich with big slices of portabella, mozzerella, basil and carnelized onions. Sub'd breaded chicken cutlet (deep fried) over grilled with a side of balsamic vinegrette. I seriously crave this sandwich, in fact I'm enjoying one now and is the best 10 bucks you can spend locally. Red cabbage slaw on the side is a nice touch. Service is prompt and orders are accurate. First time ordering from here, to bring to an outdoor concert. I was not impressed. If you have panini on the menu it should be hot and pressed so the bread is toasty, not a sandwich on pita bread. I'm glad I did not post a review after my first visit as it would have been absolutely too generous. The food is good, however. Every time I place an order I am told it will be ready in 20min. After arriving 20min later I am told the food is not ready and I end up waiting an additional 20-25min. This has happened all three times and it is complete bullshit. Today was my first time trying this so called forest ave grill. My coworkers and I put together our order and sat down to munch during our lunch break. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I got a Buffalo chicken wrap. The sauce was obnoxiously more on my hands like a lotion rather than inside the wrap. My Godly friend asked me for a rating, i gave it a 6. "Wow" he had said. God friend K then went on to discuss if i "played the banjo" and acted as "dj turntable" after I guzzled a few drinks the other night. I laughed, "haha" I said, in a confused tone. I took another bite of this half assed Buffalo chick wrap. Sauce - too much, chicken - should be crisp, wrapping skill- absolute shit, i mean chicken was loose asf. Confession- I finished the whole wrap, as my god friend watched me. My mouth begged for water as the spicy ness triggered tingles on my tastebuds. Back to work now. Breakfast will for sure disappoint you Lunch is good there food sandwiches wraps salads but the breakfast is the reason for the 1 star A breakfast platter is pretty standard eggs bacon potatoes toast. But not here. Ordered a standard breakfast platter and although I got a decent amount of bacon the potatoes portion was literally smaller than the center of my palm and no toast so what did I just spend 8 dollars on ???? 2 eggs and bacon pretty much. Always good quality, fresh ingredients. I like the roast beef wrap with honey horseradish sauce. The wraps/paninis come with bagel chips. In the past they've had a special which was sesame crusted avocado fries with this honey jalapeño sauce. Oh my god. One of the best things I've ever eaten, seriously. I really think they should put those on the regular menu as I know numerous people who are always asking if they're on the menu that week. The carrot cake is amazing. Stopped in here for lunch with my brother while I was up visiting. They had many delicious looking soups to choose from as well as a very good looking sandwich menu. I ended up ordering the lobster corn chowder and the forest ave grill wrap. Both were delicious! The wrap came with bagel chips that were tasty and the soup came with either bread or crackers and a choice of muffin, corn or blueberry. Amazing. I have been coming here since they opened up and started off slow. I knew after meeting the owner (blanking a name) that he was going to be successful in this location. The menu is very appeasing and the food is amazing. I recommend the Roast Beef Melt! The soups are very delicious as well - I have tried almost all of them - I prefer the Butternut Squash or the Lobster Chowder I think its called. I haven't tried the smoothies yet, but I am sure they are as good as everything else at this place. The prices are pretty fair for the most part - so can't complain there. You could probably eat for 2 for maybe $25 bucks or so. They have plenty of seating as well. Love this place. Check it out! read more
