I did not see the pool beyond since we wanted to stay in the shade so if there were city views from poolside, I didn't get a chance to climb the steps to explore that area, which you can't see from our section. The restroom was only a table away hidden by greenery masking....the hand lotion smelled nice, it was clean restroom but not overly fancy. There was a shift change. Overall, the atmosphere and service had a somewhat clubby feel, more like a high-end tourist destination in Ibiza or Mykonos than a polished, truly upscale dining experience. One especially awkward detail- at the beginning of the meal they take photographs and later offer them for purchase at $25 a pop in shiny gold frames. It felt extremely odd and just so out of place. The idea could have been a sweet, memorable touch if handled differently-- perhaps as a cute and simple, unframed photograph rather than a $25 keepsake in a shiny frame. A genuinely high-end restaurant would never. All in all, it's a decent place and may be worth trying once, but don't go in expecting a flawlessly refined dining experience.

The rooftop space has been refreshed, but clearly with Starck's vision in mind. I recall back in 2009, the 2 small pools were surrounded by huge framed mirrors and paintings, which limited the space for seating/lounging and had a claustrophobic feel even though you were outdoors. The space is now open, with a more dedicated area for the restaurant and bar, and several types of seating/lounging options around the pool. LADiDa is open for lunch and dinner daily and a weekend brunch that I think is new-ish and being heavily promoted. LADiDa and the 10-seat omakase Sushi by Scratch are the only hotel dinner options, but there's a huge variety of restaurants surrounding the hotel. I enjoyed a decent lunch at LADiDa after I was able to check-in early at the hotel. It seems anyone enjoying the pool deck can order off the lunch menu; much of the lunch menu is hand-held food. This may not be the case at dinner and brunch. The servers must attend to the entire pool deck, so service was quite slow and inattentive, although very friendly. Note all the hotel's restaurants have an automatic 20% gratuity added. I don't know exactly where the kitchen is; it's not on the pool deck, as there's only a small tent that the servers go into when not on the deck. The restrooms are one level below, so maybe the kitchen's there too? I sat in the dedicated dining area, luckily under an umbrella in the 90 degree heat. Alas, many of the tables had no shade, a lunch/brunchtime problem. I ordered a "Buzz Free" Zero Spritz and a chicken avocado sandwich with fries. The plates and drinkware of course are reusable plastic, the utensils are disposable plastic. Condiments come in single-use packaging. The spritz was very refreshing. The sandwich was fine, with a good amount of chicken and avocado, plus tomato, onions, truffle aioli and serrano chili slices I was able to pick out (I'm a spice wimp when it comes to heat). The fries were thin and crisp. Overall a pleasant meal. I'd come back to try dinner and brunch if there was adequate shade.

Toscana (7/10): - This salad was wilted by the time it got to us and not crispy anymore, so we suspect it's been sitting out for a while. - Would've been a 9/10 If it was served fresh 2. Pappardelle Al Tartufo Bianco (+$20 to add lobster pieces) 7/10: - the pasta (9/10) was good, and the doneness was perfect for fresh pasta. - Unfortunately the lobster (4/10) left a lot to be desired. The lobster meat was severely overcooked to the point of being almost rubbery and there were several small shells in the pasta dish. - The waiter must've noticed the pile of shells I made because he whisked away the plate the second I finished so I wasn't able to take a picture. 3. Filet di Manzo (5/10): - the filet was over cooked, which is starting to seem like an overarching theme. We ordered medium RARE and received medium WELL. - This would ordinarily be sent back to the kitchen in any reputable steakhouse, but we gave them a break for not being a steakhouse - the sauce was on the bitter side and this dish was paired with broccoli rabe instead of the advertised spinach so the dish was not balanced at all, just overwhelmingly bitter. I'd say it's pretty typical for Italian cooking, just not flavorful either. Panna Cotta (9.5/10): - wow, I can't believe the best dishes of the night were the desserts! - Panna cotta was very well balanced with the fruits. Without the fruits and fruit syrup topping, the vanilla bean panna cotta would've be too rich - did not come with the advertised candied rose petals, but this dessert was so well executed that it didn't matter 6. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended for me. The food was decent, but nowhere near worth the extremely high prices. The dining room also felt surprisingly chaotic, with waitstaff constantly moving around in every direction. While the servers themselves were perfectly pleasant and professional, the overall atmosphere often felt rushed rather than elegant. What completely ruined the evening was the way we were treated by management. I understand that there is a 90-minute table limit. We were aware of it and had no issue respecting it. However, as my friend and I were enjoying a dance, with our time nearly up and the song almost finished, a manager in a suit interrupted us in the middle of the moment. Instead of allowing us another minute to finish the song, we were abruptly handed the check and pressured to sign immediately. It was embarrassing. Suddenly all eyes were on us, as though we had done something wrong simply for enjoying ourselves. The handling of the situation felt cold, unnecessary, and completely lacking in hospitality. What makes it even worse is that no one was seated at our table for at least the next 30 minutes. If the table wasn't needed, why the urgency? Why the public embarrassment? Why treat paying guests as if they're overstaying their welcome when they are simply trying to enjoy the experience they paid a premium for? The servers were fine. My complaint is directed entirely at the managers running the floor. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome. Instead, we were made to feel like a problem that needed to be removed. Beverly Hills has no shortage of beautiful venues with live music. I can overlook expensive food. I can overlook strict policies. What I cannot overlook is being treated disrespectfully. I will never return, and I cannot recommend supporting a business that values table turnover more than basic courtesy and customer experience.
