Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside because it was too windy! We arrived around 5PM with no reservation and were seated immediately. The service was a little slow because they were starting to get busy. However, our waitress was very hospitable and still took some time to share the story behind Gemelle! I love that they grow their own produce and use that in their dishes. In terms of food, we ordered the eggplant and mozzarella sticks appetizer, the arugula salad, margherita pizza, and cacio e pepe. Great atmosphere - patio is heated - comfy chairs, plenty of room at the tables. I had pizza - was an interesting mix with topping of jalapeños among others - and drizzled with honey. Daughter had the basil pistachio pesto pasta - say that six times fast! It was so flavorful, rich pesto and not so traditionally "pesto-y" - with a little crunch of pistachio - would be a dish I would get again. The fun fact that was shared with us was they are the #1 restaurant/bar in their use of Aperol. They have an option of a frozen or on the rocks Aperol spritz - I got one of each - frozen was by far the best - actually the server replaced the on the rocks (after I told her I didn't really like it) with a frozen with no questions! A very nice drink - would be GREAT in the summer. Also, a fun twist - at "sunset" the bartender came around with a "sunset shot" that was complimentary for the whole restaurant. It was like a mini version of the Aperol drink, and everyone waited for the bell and them downed the shot. Very fun environment. We did not get to try their bocce ball court as it was a bit cold, and dark. We will be back in the spring for Aperol drinks and bocce ball to be sure! read more

We were seated immediately. The gathering was to celebrate my adult son's birthday. The food was good. The bar drinks were good, not great. There was no recognition of my son's birthday, even after mentioning it to the server several times. I mean not even a "Happy Birthday!" From the server. That was a bit of a disappointment. What's all the fuss about? Honestly, this new restaurant is all flash and marketing .... nada on the food and drinks. Just finished dining at Gemelle for first time. No doubt it's a "hot spot" as there was an hour wait for inside dining on Wed night at 6:30. So I sat outside on the patio and tried to keep the flies from carrying my meal away and the mosquitoes from having me for dinner. Who opens a restaurant in N Texas with most of the seating outside? Figured I'd try a few things at this so-called Italian eatery. Mozzarella and eggplant sticks were just ok, nothing special, and the teaspoon of marinara on the bottom of the plate was super inadequate for the dish. Plus, the little that was there was watery and thin. My date ordered a couple of the signature foo-foo drinks. Expensive and in impossibly small glasses. Not a good value and the mixology just wasn't on point. Weird flavors in an attempt to be cool. I ordered a Peroni beer in honor of the Italian heritage .... it was brought out warm. Ten minutes into the meal and I'm sweating and the beer is warm, and the appies are dry. Bad start. The outdoor patio does have a roof and a couple fans, but it also faces west and a part of the glass on the outside is mirrored, so you are being lasered until the sun goes down. For main courses we had chicken Alfredo ... a heavy breaded and fried piece of chicken with fettuccine noodles that were bland along with a bland Alfredo sauce. We also tried the baked penne with Italian sausage ... same comments. It was served in a little ice cream like bowl, no flavor, not even salted adequately. The goal of the food seems to be to not offend anyone with taste buds. It's certainly not authentic Italian. The grounds are nice, some cool little seating areas and neon signs, and I can imagine a nice glass of wine outside (after they overhaul the wines offered) on a fall evening. Service was adequate, not great, but average. I like the big bottles of water they put on the table, so you don't run dry. Overall, not even close to being a good meal. You'll drop $40+ pp if you come for a drink appetizer and entree, $50+ with dessert (which I did not sample). Maybe I missed the forte? Final insult was having to back up 50 yards on the way out because the driveway is supposed to be 2 way, but people are parked on both sides of it, so it only supports one-way traffic. It's currently the place "to be seen" and the inside bar looked nice and full of well dressed West Fort Worth types getting hammered on expensive drinks in the glow of neon. If that's your thing, I highly recommend Gemelle. Else, there are far better Italian food joints here. read more

I've come here on two separate occasions: once for dinner and the other for brunch. Both services were great, but I definitely preferred brunch. For dinner I had the bucatini amitriciana. It was definitely good, but definitely a little on the spicier side (I LOVE heat personally, but if you're not a fan, skip this dish). The Aperol spritz I ordered was generous and is definitely my favorite cocktail I've had there. Brunch is definitely the highlight: especially if you can get on the patio during some nice weather! I ordered the avocado toast, which is served on focaccia. It's DELICIOUS. I'm Italian American and my mom's family is from Liguria (where focaccia is a staple), so I'm very picky about focaccia in general. I wouldn't say I consider this traditional, so if you're a purist, just be aware. That said, I didn't mind because it is still a very good bite! I highly recommend ordering it. The ambiance here is really fun! I really can't say enough good things about the patio: it's very European for Fort Worth. We ate on the patio for brunch and were quite comfortable in the shade despite the high temps (they have ample fans). There was even live music, which really made the meal fun! The only reason I'd give 4 stars over 5 is that some of the pricing seems a little steep considering what you're getting. Some of the pasta dishes especially are priced pretty high relative to portion and content. That being said, I thought brunch prices were very reasonable and portions were generous. We reserved a table for 11 people for a birthday party and showed up on time. We placed our orders in at 7:30 and it took 1.5 hours for our food to come. All the people around us were getting their meals, even those who came after us, and we did not. We did not even get our food until we got the manager to come and talk to us. While we were waiting they got us shots to compensate, but half our table does not drink and a lot were not drinking because they were driving. It was 9:00 and they told us that it would come in 10 minutes or we could leave. We were one of the last people left. We were able to get our food at 9:12. The food was not even that great, with some items undercooked. For the price we paid for the meals we expected better quality. They could not compensate us for our food, they could only compensate for the drinks other people bought. On top of this, we called the restaurant ahead of time to ask if they could split the bill between 6 people and they told us they could. At the restaurant they said they could not. We still had to pay the 22% service charge, which at least that could have been compensated for a two hour wait. Will not be coming back, especially for a group event. read more

I had the Bucatini Arrabbiata Garlic Shrimp and it was tasty with a little heat but it did not overpower the pasta. I would get that again. My wife had the Ricotta Gnocchi with Sausage tomato Ragu and it too was delicious. Drinks were made quickly and tasted very good. We ate at the bar due to Friday night busy time. The indoor ambiance is cute and energetic. The outdoor dining would probably be better in spring, early summer and the fall. July dining makes the area hot, hot. However there were several customers out there. They do have the large water cooler's blowing on customers out there. On the patio, you can hear the live music down below in the Garden . Negative comment.....ordered the bourbon pecan cheesecake but it was served to us still frozen and of course cheesecake crumbles when we tried to eat it. Not sure if it tasted good as we could not get by the cheesecake crumbles. Reservations were for 7pm, got there at 6:30 for an adult beverage at the bar. Hostess told us to check with her when ready. At 7pm went to hostess stand and was told it would be an hour for inside seating but outside seating was available in 104 degrees. She said they were a patio venue and we should have told them inside only. Maybe they should have come to us before the last inside seats were taken. Anyway, we had a great time with our bartender during our meal so I guess it worked out for the best. We will go back as the food was extraordinary and service was great. read more

Once seated, we had a tiny table on the patio. The patio design is amazing - perfect amount of openness with shade. Absolutely loved this place, such a vibe from the moment you walk in. The inside is decorated vintage but also contemporary/modern- looks awesome. The outside is fantastic. They have covered seating on the patio and then more outdoor seating outside. There are tiny gardens throughout with vegetables planted that they use for cooking, how cool. The food was 10/10. The leeks and prosciutto appetizers were amazing. Definitely order the bread crackers to go with the hunk of mozz you get with the prosciutto. For dinner we shared the pasta special, Gemelle pasta with pork osso bucco in a cream sauce with celery and carrots- drooooling. We also shared the pizza with honey and pickled jalapeños- crispy crust, sweet, slight spice and the pickling. Hitting all the flavors on the palate. I don't think you could go wrong with any dish at this restaurant. I'd recommend Gemelle for family dinner, date night, girls night, birthday celebration. Attire could be anything. The outside is SO adorable, great covered & uncovered seating, gardens, bocce ball, and a separate bar. It was storming earlier that day so I didn't want to chance getting rained out & have to come in anyways. We wanted to try to have a variety of menu so we could really give a good review of the restaurant. We had the Fluke crudo special as an app and while I liked the flavors the texture was just different for a raw fish, a little too firm for my taste. Then we ordered the pizza that had tallegeo, hen of the woods mushrooms, & lemon zest. It was super cheesy, my husband said they made up for the lack of meat in cheese, and we're not complaining. We also had the special which was lamb pops (chops) on gnocco alla Romano. This was small but delicious! I thought the gnocco was going to be the same as gnocchi but it seemed more like polenta to me than gnocchi cause they didn't seem like individual gnocchi dumplings but I asked and Tim said that it's a different style of gnocchi. Still delicious just different. Oh & we both had drinks, an aperol spritzer, & wine. They have a good tap list too. The food is delicious however ambience and service can really ruin the complete experience. We were there for Brunch Father's Day. We were seated outside and right in front of the playing band. Which I would not recommend at 11 if you are wanting to enjoy a conversation or able to hear the waitress as it was extremely LOUD especially for the type of clientele it attracts. Service was such a let down as it was not extremely busy. There were only 2/3 tables occupied including us. We waited for an unusual amount of time until we were able to submit our drink orders. When my husband requested for Tea the waitress ensured to let us know she has to go all the way back into the restaurant and she was not happy about it. Tea arrived and he had to ask for sweeteners. My opinion you should always have Tea and condiments at the bar to save you from having to run back and forth. Perhaps organization can prevent from having unhappy waitresses/clients. Food took a long time until we received it. Taste was phenomenal! Overall as I was observing my surroundings it was not busy for the await time, ladies at the bar happened to be more interested on there phones, band is extremely loud however we still left a generous tip.
