I continue to like this place. Have been here multiple times and always a consistently good meal and I feel fairly well priced for a tourist trap setting. The chowder is one of my favorites and very kid friendly. **Returned again today and as usual, great food and service. Shout out to Patty for great service!! Loved it! read more

On my cruise vacation, one of the ports we stopped at was Bar Harbor. For lunch, my family and I wanted to try some traditional Maine fare. One of the restaurants the cruise recommended was Geddy's. We went for an early small lunch before our excursion. As we only wanted something small, we decided to share a cup of New England clam chowder and the crab cake blt. Both were absolutely delicious!! The crab cake blt had a big crab cake, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and guacamole. It was a decent sized portion and we did not leave hungry. On the table, there was Geddy's own scorpion pepper hot sauce. I love hot sauce so I had to try it. It was definitely spicy! And so very tasty!! I dipped my French fries in the hot sauce. Our waitress told us that they sell the hot sauce in their store beneath the restaurant. Before we left, we bought 2 bottles of the sauce! Geddy's was a very cute small restaurant. Everyone was very friendly, especially our waitress, Katie. If you are ever traveling through Bar Harbor, you should make time for a meal at Geddy's! read more

Lively atmosphere, great service and good food! Their specialty is fish & chips so we ordered it. They don't use a typical beer batter and My wife eats GF and they fry everything without gluten. The fish was fried golden, crunchy and delicious! The panko fried shrimp (eight jumbo shrimp) was delicious too! Each came with a side of hand cut fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was freshly chopped and tasty, and the hand cut fries were on par! They take pride in their food here. I recommend getting here before the dinner rush because there were quite a bit of people waiting as we exited. read more

My husband and I made a reservation on Sunday for Monday evening. We were glad we did because the waitlist was hour and 45 minutes if we hadn't made the reservation. We got there early and went to the gift shop below the restaurant and bought a geddy's T-shirt. We then got seated in the restaurant that had a neat atmosphere with a great music playlist. We had mussels, lobster specialty pizza with bacon and arugula and a lobster salad. Everything was delicious but the pizza was especially noteworthy. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we ordered take out the next night and had a lobster roll and lobster linguine. Again, the food was phenomenal. We highly recommend! read more

Lobster Cobb Salad... great amounts of excellent lobster plus avocado. I'm not sure what was "cobb" about it (there were some sliced hardboiled eggs), but I didn't hold that against Geddys. Very nice. Like the atmosphere, it's sort of New York or New Orleans, but maybe that's Bar Harbor. I said that Bar Harbor is the Gatlinburg of Acadia, but it's a lot classier than the east Tennessee version. A large bar with good food. read more

Too long a wait. We did wait because of all the positive reviews on this page but honestly it wasn't worth it. Nobody was leaving (the drinks looked good) which is why the long wait so I suppose it was good for them. I do have to say the server was excellent. Bathroom signs were confusing. Saw women entering mens room but as I said the drinks were flowing so she didn't care. read more

Very cool decor but food is overpriced and not very good. Chowder was straight up bad. It was very bland, and potatoes were still hard. Worst chowder I've had in a long time, and it cost $10 on top it. Fish in fish and chips was overcooked and dry. Not sure why this place has good reviews except for the fact that it's the first place cruise ship tourists come across when they get off the boat and are primed to like anything. read more

My family and I come here every time we come to Bar Harbor. The food is always delicious no matter what you order, and the staff is always friendly and quick. We came in yesterday and went to Geddy's and even though the restaurant was busy and crowded the staff handled the rush well. They stayed pleasant, quick, and welcoming. If you're ever in Bar Harbor do not miss an opportunity to stop at Geddy's. read more

This is our go to restaurant when we are in Bar Harbor. The food here is delicious and fresh. Service is great!

We came in at the end of the night and we were promptly seated at the big booth in the back which was amazing for my birthday dinner! We ordered the largest lobster they had, however the next day we learned that we should order two small lobsters instead of one big lobster to get more meat that's what the singing lobsterman told us due to the water content in the larger lobsters. More bang for your buck getting two smaller ones. Anyway the lobster was the sweetest we've tasted and the shower was soft. The ambience was cute and very family friendly. I must say you can skip the sides, being from upstate New York we took one bite of the corn and threw it away. No fault to the restaurant I guess Maine just doesn't know how to grow corn like upstate! The fried calamari was excellent loved the Asian spin on it. The server was excellent who is checking in on us & keeping our glasses full. We didn't try the blueberry pie but may have to stop back in before we leave tonight. My son loves the Shirley Temple, There were kids meals for very picky 7 year old. The price to value seems a little high compared to the other options in the area but overall we are glad we came here for my 43rd birthday! read more

We were in town Columbus Day weekend. Everywhere was busy but they took a reservation and the service and food were both excellent.

Service was good, but if you are coming here for the lobster roll I would save your money and get a lobster dinner elsewhere. $90 for two lobster rolls and water after tip and tax. I would have not minded the steep price if it was good, but it was very bland. read more

This review is for take out - we ordered 2 of the Cap n' Geddys a Lobster Bake, brought back to the room across the street and ate on porch. Delicious food and great value for off season and not a lobster shack. Came with clam chowder, corn, whole lobster and wonderful blueberry pie. So worth it. read more

Great pub. Had the lobster bake and it was as good as any others I had around Bar Harbor. The blueberry beer was fantastic as was the piece of blueberry pie for dessert. Cool gift shop in the basement. Go and you will have fun! read more

We've been in town for 4 days and this is by far the worse restaurant we've been to. The hostess/bartender was so rude to us. I ordered a Irish coffee and it was a bit too strong for me so I asked if she could remake it with less Jameson. She said that "she didn't put that much in, but okay". It doesn't matter if she just poured out half of the drink and added some coffee, it's not a big deal for her to be giving attitude over a drink. We also ordered to lobster stew which was literally just oily milk with lobster. The only good thing is our server who was pleasant but honestly this was the worse restaurant we've been to compared to all of the other amazing places we've been at Bar Harbor. read more

Great location, very cool design. That being said this was the worst "lobster stew" I've ever had. Looked nothing like the website picture. It had the consistency of milk and had no taste. There were chunks of lobster and that's cool but stew is supposed to be a thick & favorful. Had to ask for salt for it to be edible. For $14 a bowl it was so disappointing. Decided to close out rather than risk spending more and not liking it. The tubular IPA was best part of the experience. read more

Great food AND service! I have celiac, so was excited to see most of the menu could be made gluten free- including the fried food. Food was great. Lobster was awesome! Ate here twice while we were in Bar Harbor. read more

Capt Geddy's Lobster Bake was fantastic. "Lazy" style had them shell out the lobster for a little extra. Perfect portion of chowder with the lobster and corn on the cob. No better way to kick off a trip to Acadia. Solid piece of blueberry pie to end the night. read more

Lobster special was good, price was the going rate, draft beer good, blueberry pie very good.

One of the best lobster rolls in town and great pizza! The pizza with brussel sprouts is like a better version of the Alamo draft house take - roasted mushrooms great addition. Solid little beer selection too. read more

Excellent experience even during COVID. The wait was short-ish. The food was all wonderful. Caleb was a great waiter. The Blueberry beer was really good. The blueberry pie was a great dessert. I'll give this place solid 5... I never give 5s ... in fact this is my first ever for restaurants, because it is extremely hard to meet that threshold with me. Here's why... Attentive staff - we were sat promptly and our orders taken in a very timely manner. We were served in the same manner. Good Cooking staff - there is always things I would have done something different, but cooking was great all around. Our food came out in record time... max 15 minutes Pricing - reasonable read more

This place is full of life and good food. It was recommended to us by a our motel owner and we weren't disappointed. The New England clam chowder is one of the best we've ever had. It is on Main Street which is a few blocks from where the cruise ship people get dropped off so might be easier to get in without a wait than those restaurants on West Street. read more

The eggplant, goat cheese, rocket pizza was incredible. Husband's fish and chips was good. Their Irish coffee was great too, as was Patty, our waitress. She gave honest recommendations that cinched the deal. We will be back. P.S., skip the decadent chocolate dessert. Way to sweet read more

The food and service at Geddy's was wonderful! We had a large group and ate here twice during our two week visit to Acadia. The Mini Lobster bake was a favorite, along with the shrimp scampi and quinoa bowl. The menu had many options to meet different tastes. The food was great, but the service so fun! Every staff member was welcoming, helpful and fun. Friendly is our favorite server by far. Warm, helpful and delightful to chat with. Geddy's is a can't miss place when visiting Bar Harbor. read more

Great service. Great food. Great gluten free selections for my son. Great experience today. Sarah was great!

We came around 3:30pm and there was no wait. Staff were friendly and efficient. We had the lobster bake, chicken sandwich and seafood pie. Everything was good but it is hard to go wrong with the lobster boil. We noticed that a 20% tip was automatically added to the bill though we only had 3 people in the party. For people not paying attention, another tip would be added on top of that. Why is this done? There was no option to change it. read more

This is one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. It was extremely loud between the kitchen, the music and other people. The menu did not match the one they have on their website, and they did not have any sides listed on either. The chairs were uncomfortable and the floor was extremely sticky, I could not stand being there. I left before the drinks even arrived because it was so awful to be in there. No one could pay me enough to sit though a meal there. read more

Arrived in Bar Harbor tonight, and went looking for a casual meal. Geddy's had mussels, lobster rolls, and blueberry goodies, along with a family friendly review...all the things we were looking for. The wait was short, the tables were spaced out, the food arrived quickly, and our server Bethany was attentive. My husband loved the lobster stew. I enjoyed the lobster mini bake, which gave me a little sampler of everything I wanted... clam chowder, mini lobster roll, and blueberry tart. (Although both are fresh and excellent, choose the lobster stew) Finally, we appreciated how Bethany brought our child's food out first. The child's meal came out on a frisbee...great "placement" and souvenir! All in all a great choice. read more

I'd give it 3.5, but leaning more toward 3. Really nice bartenders. Great service!! Drinks were okay. Food was so-so. We got the crab cake sandwich (we'd give it a 4) and the seafood pie (would give it a 3.) pie was all fish, except for 2 shrimp and what might have been nibbles of lobster smaller than a pencil eraser. All of it pretty much just tasted like the buttery cream that filled the pie/seafood cobbler. It wasn't bad by any means... just not what we expected.) Music was basically a jimmy buffet station. If that's what you're in the mood for, this is the place to go. :) read more
