We were craving lobster!! And we saw a sign on the side of the road for twin lobsters for $35. So we had to get it!!! I got the twin lobsters. And my boyfriend got the Downeast Lobster Bake, which is a full lobster with clam chowder and mussels and blueberry cake. My twin lobsters were INCREDIBLE. I ate ALL OF IT! They made the lobster to perfection. Juicy and tender and soft! I do like my lobster with lots of lemon. And I had to ask for extra lemons twice bc they only gave me a couple slices at a time. So I was a little disappointed about that. The clam chowder was okay. Good but there wasn't much clams in there so I probably wouldn't get it again. The mussels were okay, they were not flavorful. It was just OK. We arrived and there were cars in the parking lot, so we figured it would be good. It was also recommended by our campground check-in person. There were a lot of people because there was a wedding rehearsal going on. There weren't any other customers. The service was good. We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly and prompt. The food was mixed. The chowder was pretty good. We shared a whole lobster meal. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery/tough. We were very disappointed as this was our first meal in Maine and it was rather expensive. I have had much better lobster on cruise ships and at home getting tails from Publix. When in Maine you have to eat lobster. This had some good reviews and there are a ton of other lobster restaurants in Maine. I can't say how this is comparable to the others but it was delicious. You can definitely tell the difference in the taste. The clam chowder was the best I've tasted (Midwest). We ate outside and the picnic tables made the place and it was definitely a lobster place. The server was excellent, he kept on checking with us. One nice thing about this place is the instructions for eating lobster. I had the lobster bake and clam chowder which the lobster was sweet and the clam chowder had fresh clams. Places I've been to, the clam a tasted fishy. My wife had the lobster Mac and cheese and she loved it as she isn't really a lobster person. My meal came with a blueberry cake. It was a la mode. It was sweet and made perfectly. This place was so great! The server was so friendly, funny, and polite. There is inside and outside seating, but we sat inside (it was so hot coming back from Pirate's Cove, another great attraction) and enjoyed the view of the beautiful cove. My brother and I both got their lobster rolls, 34 dollars per roll, much less than other places charging 40. And they overflow the rolls with lobster! The slaw was good a tasted fresh. Blueberry soda from Bar Harbor, lemonade is freshly squeezed, and iced tea is freshly brewed. Yum! And my grandmother got the clam chowder, I tried some, and it was the best! The thing that topped it off, though, was the wonderful blueberry pie, served with homemade blueberry ice cream and whipped cream. It was absolutely amazing. My family and I went here when we were staying in Bar Harbor. I really wanted just a simple lobster bake since I had never had one...when in Maine! The service was incredible! I have 3 little ones and the hostess let them pick out their own coloring books. When my youngest started having a meltdown they brought her a toy to play with. It's small acts of kindness that can go very far! The lobster was great, I was thankful that it came with instructions on how to use the tools. Made the first time having lobster go smoothly! This was a great experience for me and my 3 travel buddies. We are from KY and traveled to Bar Harbor to go whale watching. The other "bucket list" item was for a lobster roll! After careful consideration we settled on this one. We had a FULL day of adventures and this fit the bill. The service was outstanding and we absolutely loved the outdoor seating experience. It seems so authentic, casual and LOCAL! We knew we wanted warm rolls. This one was perfect and my only regret is not just being a pig and getting a 2nd one! The actual bread/bun was soft and extremely fresh but not overpowering at all. We all put some butter on the sandwich but also dipped in the butter. AHHHHMAZING! We were brought here on our tour of Acadia National Park. They brought in two bus loads totalling 110 people. The restaurant opened abd served just us. The waitstaff was phenomenal and took great care of us. We started with lobster, corn on the cob and potato. We each got shell crackers and bibs. Everything was cooked perfectly. We came here on vacation to find some great lobster and this spot did not disappoint! I believe our server's name was Eric and he was so friendly and although we came a little bit later in the night, he didn't make us feel rushed at all, he really made the whole experience wonderful, we felt like we were eating lobster right at home! Owner Heather and her staff (server Dan was the best! ) provided the consummate restaurant service, chatting with us, getting out toys and games for some lively children customers , and constant cleaning up tables and sharing in-depth info about all the menu offerings! And the FOOD! Perfectly prepared and presented lobsters that were "sleeping in the bay" out the window last night and today gracing our table! When I visited here, I was a tourist. My wife wanted the whole lobster experience. She did some research and picked this place. Apple Maps did not know where it was. GPS made it hard to find, but it is right on the highway, not some shady backyard that looks sketchy. We park, we are seated, all six of us. Three adults, three young kids. They treated my kids so well. They gave us coloring books to use while there. When my youngest (2) was over it, they had toys that suction cupped to the table for her. As for the food, my wife said the lobster was great. She had her bib, dipped it in butter, and had corn on the side. As a bonus, how to prepare, cook, and break apart seafood was on the tv. So before, she ate her lobster, she was able to watch it be cooked in addition to crabs and other sea creatures. I do not like seafood. I had a burger. It was fine. It was not special.
