Grilled chicken Sandwich
Harpreet C.

Okay first off... PORTIONS so good. We were pretty hungry and the food was delicious and filled us up. SECOND... if you want a beautiful view of the sunset with your meal this is the place to go. The staff was amazing and they pour some heavy drinks. Okay the food... Escargot was delicious in a great sauce we dipped our bread in there cause we couldn't get enough. They give you so many too definitely don't skimp out on it. They did run out of burgers so that was sad but we got the grilled chicken sandwich which was okay a bit dry in some places but overall yummy with their sauce. The ketch style fries were really well seasoned. My shrimp scampi was delicious so much butter and salt but overall it was great. The chocolate tort was thickkkkk so yummy but very chocolatey. View from the patio during the changing sunset.

Although Bass Harbor is a longer drive from other parts of the island, Seafood ketch is worth it. Outside seating during sunset I recommend to plan for. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait a bit. Food was great tonight. Appetizers: calamari & artichoke dip were both very good. Good draft beer on tap. All main courses of various seafood were fresh and great ! And blueberry pie with ice cream a good way to end it. Have been here before and will again as food quality is consistent.

Quick summary: Good food, nice views, slow service, watch for mosquitoes My family enjoyed dinner at Seafood Ketch after watching the sunset one evening during our September trip to Acadia. We had a fairly late dinner, so there were some other groups there, but the place was certainly far from packed. They have a very large patio, and we chose to sit there. It was right on the water and quite pretty, but we were very glad that we brought mosquito repellent...definitely don't forget this in the evening! Overall, our meal was pretty good. The seafood was fresh, the vegetables were meh, but the pie was good. But definitely do not come here if you're in a hurry and not willing to spend 1-2 hours on dinner. They were extremely understaffed. We had to wait quite a while for everything...to get water, to order, to get silverware, for the food, for the bill...we were glad it was the end of the day and we didn't have anywhere else to go other than back to our campground. Our daughter was pretty restless by the time we made it out, though.

This became a go to dinner place on a recent trip to Mount Desert Island. We liked the food, people, service and atmosphere. There is a main dining room, some more tables the adjacent room that has a small sit down bar, and a large patio. They get their seafood right off the local boats. Interesting take on calamari - it had a sauce drizzled n it, maybe balsamic as I recall. The bread is awesome, too. Pretty close to Bass Harbor Headlight, we went there after dinner one night and experienced the hordes of people climbing over the rocks to get that sunset picture. Then the next time we returned we drove to the town across from the Seafood Ketch - Bernard - after dinner.

It honestly pains me to write this review, as this is my 3rd time here and usually a favorite. Despite a great day, it wasn't terribly crowded. We had a party of 12 with 5 of that showing up 30 minutes later. The first group placed all orders before the second group showed up. This included 3 kids. An appetizer didn't come out even though it was ordered at the same time as another. Kids meals came out after all adults completely finished eating and one kids meal never arrived. Food was good but service was atrocious. We spent almost 3 hours there with over 30 minutes spent on the bill. I had the GF haddock sandwich, my daughter ordered and loved the mussels and one person had the haddock Mediterranean and loved it. Again, food great but the service was so bad it was hard to remember how good the food was. No apologies or accountability for the service. It appeared others outside were also having issues getting food too so I'm not sure if there's a management or training issue but I hope they get things worked out!

How did we even find this place? By the local US postal service office down the road - the lady said "make a right, go down the hill, and eat the dockside restaurant, you won't be disappointed." I kid you not.... she was 100% correct. Across 3 days of hiking and exploring the numerous restaurants/cafes in Bar Harbor - this was the BEST place we ate. Why? The ingredients, ambience, beer selection and dessert. While my fiancee ordered a well crafted cheeseburger (arriving with a huge steak night penetrating right through it), I ordered a dish of mussels that were perfectly seasoned with garlic, olive oil and butter. Our table was seated outside near the water so we could see the surrounding mountains and breathe the fresh air. For dessert - we ordered the blueberry pie (but they have many selections). The blueberries were FRESH, not too runny, and natural tasting without the sugar other places seem to put into them. We actually ordered the same desert twice on subsequent orders.. it was that good. Be sure to check their hours of operation and season. They close down in mid-October and as a result, don't always have the best selection of food/drinks due to inventory. But if you can time it well, trust me: you won't want to miss it.

Great service great food wonderful ambiance. Was great for our 4 year old grandson as well. Near the end of the season and we were so lucky to get in.

After a short hike we thought we stop by to Seafood Ketch for some escargot and a few other things that interest us. The escargot flavors was on point! Especially with the warm bread that was served earlier. Dipping that was simply heaven! A bit on the done side but overall good! The Seafood chowder was on a lighter side. (Needed salt imo). It was also served with the stuffed Haddock which made it a little on the lighter side. The Surf and Turf was good! The char on the steak and dry rubs gave it that smokey flavors and the scallops was cooked to al dente. Definitely a recommend! Service was great. We ate outdoors and the tables were spread safely among others.

Thurston's Lobster Pound was hands down our favorite stop on our Acadia trip…read more Located on the quieter side of the park, it offers amazing food and a far better ambience than the busier tourist spots. We sat right on the dock and ordered live lobster, which is cooked fresh on site. Be prepared to wait a bit, but it is absolutely worth it. The lobster was the best we had the entire trip, enjoyed with ocean views and a beautiful sunset. One tip: get the blueberry pie if they aren't sold out. We ordered a few to share and immediately regretted not getting our own because it was that good. By the time we realized, they were already sold out for the night.

This is a great working harbor and you're surrounded by the boats that are catching your food. This place packs up during the evenings so plan accordingly or be prepared to wait. Parking stinks and sometimes there's just no where to put your car. There's no reservations - you just hop in the line upon arrival. Feel free to meet your line neighbors -- some great conversations have happened in that line. All that said I don't think I've ever waited more than 20 minutes. If you're ordering lobster your meal is typically by the weight. I personally like them small - I think it tastes sweeter. You can add on the usuals (e.g. bread, corn, cole slaw, cake) or mussels, clams, oysters, etc. The key here is the blueberry cake - the greatest use of blueberry's next to blueberry pie =). We typically order 2 cakes, or more, for breakfast the next day. Most of the seats, on the various levels of the restaurant, have a good view of the harbor. This is a traditional lobster pound on a dock of the harbor. Maybe it's the bright yellow awning, or the blueberry cake, - I dunno - but this is the way!

I saw this place when we first got to Maine and never forgot about it because I am a giant soft serve fan and they boast 24 different flavors of soft serve!!!! This was our 4th and last stop on our Maine Ice Cream Trek and it did not disappoint. After very long and drawn out deliberation, I decided to try the English Toffee flavor and my wife got the Dragon's Blood soft serve flavor. Both were so good but that Dragon's Blood was out of this world!! I had never had the flavor before and it blew my mind. We also got fries to make sure we made it home to eat and they were the best fries we had in Maine for our entire trip and my wife LOVES fries so that's a very nice compliment. We almost ordered a second serving. There is plenty of covered seating outside but no inside seating so it gave a well catered picnic vibe. I will say it was hard for us to find because the map didn't realize where it was. We had to drive around a bit to find it but it's next to the gas station/convenience store that Maps takes you to. I would absolutely go out of my way to go to Seaside Dairy Bar the next time we're in Maine. It's well worth it!

After a day in Arcadia National Park, we saw Trenton Bridge Lobster pound as we were driving home,…read moresaw bunch of lobster pots outside with steam coming out of it and we knew we had to stop by and oh boy we sure glad we did. We ordered crab cakes, 2 large whole lobster, clam chowders, cocktail shrimp, blueberry pie and ice cream. Crab cakes- The crab cakes were the best crab cakes I have ever eaten in my life. TONS of crab in the crab cakes, not just bread. I had to saver each bite. The owner, she told us she is the one who makes the crab cakes every day. Cocktail shrimp and clam chowder- both were ok, nothing special, I wouldn't order it again. 2 Whole Lobsters- Both lobsters weighed in a total of 5lbs all together. Oh man, the boiled lobsters were absolutely amazing and delicious. Tons of meat in the lobsters, great texture, firm and tender. Highly recommend getting a lobster. Blueberry pie and ice cream- To end off a great dinner, the blueberry and ice cream definitely hit the spot. Lots of blueberry, crust was good, and I love how the pie isn't too sweet. OVERALL, I was so happy we stopped and tried Trenton bridge lobster Pound. The staff were great, talked to the owner and she said Saturday was going to be the last day of the season, so we really got lucky stopping by on a Friday right before they were going to close for the season.
