    Lobster roll

Came here for a dinner on Saturday, straight from the airport. And we were so happy we stopped. Food was absolutely amazing. I got lobster roll and my husband got haddock sandwich. We loved every bite of it. Portions were large and delicious. You order food upfront and they bring it to you, indoors or outdoors, depending where you want to seat. It's a very chill place with ice cream outside, music and games. Definitely a fun place to go to.

Most definitely the best lobster roll I've ever had. Bar Harbor Lobster Pound is located right off the road and the parking lot gets quite full, so you may have to circle around if it's a weekend. You order at the front, and they'll give you a number for them to bring your order to. There's a lot of outdoor seating in the back (picnic tables) with games, lights, and heaters as well. We ordered a half serving of the lobster nachos to split between 4 people and everyone got their own lobster roll. The half serving was a good amount, the whole serving is massive and we wouldn't have finished it on top of everything else. The mango salsa was light and was a nice balance against the lobster bisque infused cheese. You should eat the chips quickly though because they don't stay crunchy for long. For my own order, I got the house special lobster that I loved. The bun was soft, they're generous with the lobster amount, and there's a lot of sauce. The chips are solid and it's a really filling meal. Lastly, I ordered the blueberry lemonade which is definitely worth the try when you're there. It's refreshing and the blueberry flavor sweetens it up.

We stopped by this summer before the season ended and we were super pleased. We chose a picnic table and our lobsters were brought out to us. It was a rustic outdoor locale which was exactly what we were looking for. Friendly staff!

This was a great place for lobster and just good vibes. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of food options to choose from - can't go wrong. Seafood is very fresh. Have to save room for their blueberry pie a la mode with blueberry ice cream as well!

Heard great things about this place. We came here on a rainy down on Saturday and loved the overall ambiance of this place. We got the lobster bisque, lobster dinner, the half lobster nachos and topped it off with the blue berry pie with blueberry ice cream at the little van outside the store. Everything was very Delicious, the lobster was huge and the chips that came with was very really good. I recommend getting the lobster nachos!

Generous portions of lobster and unique twist on the house lobster roll with the lemon aioli. We sat outside on the picnic benches with the string lights - it was very chilly but a neat setup. We enjoyed the lobster bisque as well. I ended up buying a tshirt to remember this place :)

Long lines say it all ! this place is worth the wait. The open kitchen lets you watch the magic happen, lobsters sizzling fresh from the pot. Friendly staff keep the vibe warm and easy, while the outdoor seating gives off that chill camping by the sea feeling.

We decided to stop here for lunch. I didn't want lobster, and hadn't tried tacos yet, so I ordered their grilled fish tacos. They were yummy and loaded! I also ordered a cup of chowder and I was really disappointed. It had way too much pepper. My partner had also ordered a bowl and he couldn't eat it either. Their crispy chips that come with the tacos were really good. The service was fast, ordering was easy and the seating outside was spacious and really nice and clean. Unless they change their chowder, I wouldn't recommend it. The tacos - Yes!

Great outdoor atmosphere. Place is unique - casual, outdoorsy, lad back. Of course it's all about lobster a they have it all. Ah, pretty good selection of beer. Do stop here.

The cutest off the road place to eat. After putt putt at Pirates Cove, this was a perfect way to end our trip to Bar Harbor. With their juicy, hot lobster roll with extra warmed butter and home made chips, along with the bar harbor blueberry soda...perfection. Ending it with a lovely warm slice of homemade blueberry pie a la mode. Definitely 10/10 recommend!

What a first meal in Bar Harbor!! It was the best lobster roll I've ever had. The whole experience was something to write home about. I ordered the House Special roll and it was decadent and fresh. It had an aoli with lemon on a toasted bun. The roll had a whole lobster on it so the portion was great for the price. To start you're able to see the lobsters being cooked right near the front. They offer indoor and outdoor seating which is nice, the outdoor seating was quaint and wooded and they have corn hole set up to play. After my meal I was in the gift shop inside and was offered to HUGE lobster. I felt very welcomed and had such a nice time eating here. I'm sad that I'm not in Maine longer because I'd come back to try everything on the menu and the ice cream.

The half order of lobster nachos is packed with lobster and he melted cheese is remarkable! The lobster roll was amazing as well. We sat out back and it was super chill. Order at the counter, grab your draft drink around back as you find your seat, food will come out hot and shortly after you snag a seat. Still talking about this meal a week later!

This is a great place for dinner, we had a large group of 12. It's easy to find seating and lots of games for the kids to play with. The food was great. The crabcakes were tasty.

Planning a trip in May. Are all the restaurants open in May? Is lobster plentiful in May? Should we maybe change our dates?

Hi Shelly! There are plenty of hard shell lobsters in May but most restaurants do not open until Memorial Day weekend. If you want lots of options, I would wait until memorial day weekend to travel to bar harbor, at the earliest.

Even the wind tried to crash our dinner, but the food more than made up for it. We started with the lobster bisque, which my husband took very seriously -- he ordered bisque everywhere we went in Maine and appointed himself an unofficial judge. Verdict here? Top contender. The lobster tail was fresh, buttery perfection, and that sweet corn on the cob might've been the best I've ever had (sorry, Midwest). Our server was an absolute gem -- friendly, funny, and full of great tips. She even told us to check out the beach across the street, where I found my very first piece of sea glass. Bottom line: great food, lovely people, and a seaside charm that makes you forget the wind's trying to steal your napkin.

And my boyfriend got the Downeast Lobster Bake, which is a full lobster with clam chowder and mussels and blueberry cake. My twin lobsters were INCREDIBLE. I ate ALL OF IT! They made the lobster to perfection. Juicy and tender and soft! I do like my lobster with lots of lemon. And I had to ask for extra lemons twice bc they only gave me a couple slices at a time. So I was a little disappointed about that. The clam chowder was okay. Good but there wasn't much clams in there so I probably wouldn't get it again. The mussels were okay, they were not flavorful. The blueberry cake was delicious. If we go again, I think my boyfriend and I will stick to simplicity and both order twin lobsters!

We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.
