Excellent lobster in a beautiful location on the Union River in Ellsworth, ME. Dennis provided great service. Wonderful views, food and service.

We arrived right when they opened, and the place filled up quickly, but the service never missed a beat. I ordered the fish tacos, while my friend had the lobster cobb salad, and both were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. I didn't love the street corn but the dessert got me back on track. LOL. The blueberry pie disappeared so fast we didn't get a chance to snap a photo. Definitely worth a visit.

Went here pretty late and the wait was still 45min-1hr. You can sit outside by the area that cooks the lobsters/crab etc. the cook outside was great and everyone was peacefully taking in the action and getting their pictures etc. Once sat inside the server was nice and prompt. We knew what we wanted because we looked while we waited. Things we ordered: clam chowder, lobster pot and crab pot. Clam chowder - this is the best clam Chowder I have ever had in my life. I still think about it. The most fresh and flavorful clam chowder ever. 5/5 stars Lobster pot - comes with steamers, corn and potatoes. It's what you expect. If you are expecting a west coast seafood boil that comes in a bag this is not it. It's simple and delicious Crab pot - 1 whole corn on the cob and a couple of potatoes and a couple of smaller clusters of crab. Again it's simple and delicious. I would come back here every single time to get the clam chowder. This place is a must for that alone.

This was our first time visiting Maine and the first place we stopped immediately after exiting the airport and it truly set the tone for our trip! My mom and I came for lunch because they have a cute little set up to enjoy "lobster on the lawn" while overlooking the river. We ordered a hot lobster roll with butter and a cold lobster roll with mayo; they were both fantastic. I could have sat there all day since there is ample seating so you don't feel rushed. We were even lucky enough to see a seal pop its head up! The service is friendly and quick so it's a perfect spot to just relax and enjoy a yummy lobster roll. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone planning a trip to Maine.

Went here during our recent trip to Acadia National Park in August 2025 wanting to eat some Maine lobster and other local cuisine. We waited about 30-40 minutes on a rainy evening. Was able to observe a lady cooking to order the lobsters while waiting for our table. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The restaurant was about average noise level and suitable for large groups. would recommend going to this lobster pound in Ellsworth.

Side salad, small additional price but better than french fries I think

    Is this a byob restaurant?

I was there at the end of June, it is not BYOB. They have a good selection of beer (including Maine craft beer) plus wine. Not sure if it's full bar.

Every single flavor that we tried...... and we had a really difficult time deciding which flavors to try of their 60 +/- flavors AT ALL TIMES. We didn't want to be pigs about it... well, actually, we DID want to be pigs, but we didn't let ourselves, and it was darn difficult to limit how many flavors to try out of 60. Every piece was fresh, perfectly made cheesecake, and every flavor was well represented. Being in Maine, we HAD to try blueberry cheesecake. We also tried strawberry, lemon blueberry, cannoli, apple crisp, and s'mores. Sad to say, we never finished them, but we tried them all, and they lasted a good long while. All were perfect and delicious. Now, for their business model. Imagine a business open 24/7... the doors are always open, and NOBODY is working in the storefront with the exception of people (the owners, I'm assuming) loading in more cheesecake flavors when they run out. The business is run COMPLETELY on the honor system. If memory serves, there are 3 ways to pay, but I only recall with specificity the Venmo way to pay cuz that's what I used. I think they accepted checks and one more way to pay, but I don't really recall. Let me be clear, though... it is up to each individual to be on their honor system and pay for what they want to take. Where else on this earth do you know of any retail type shop where people are left to their honor to pay for goods? I have never heard of nor seen any such thing like this before. I could have just as easily walked right out with my cheesecake slices and not paid for any of them. Nobody would have known. They don't check. They don't ask. I'm so impressed by this business model and the fact that it works !!!! I witnessed it. Everyone was paying. It truly is a testament about faith and trust, and it still works. This is just brilliant. Momo's also sells gargantuan pieces of carrot cake, which we did not try, as well as whoopie pies, which we also didn't try. If they sell other items besides the above, I just didn't see them, but I think they have quite enough already. Sixty + flavors of cheesecake alone should keep people happy. The only downside to Momo's is that we live nowhere near it, but I'm truly glad for the experience we had.

Such a fun experience to go in and make some tough decisions - or don't and just get one of each! I didn't realize I needed a grab and go cheesecake experience in my life until my friend sent a reel about this place!! I got the lemon blueberry, it was amazing. So much flavor, well balanced combo of lemon and blueberry coming through! My friend got the Cherry Garcia and I tried a bite, it was good, nice cherry and chocolate pairing! Apologies to the those facing lactose challenges, this place is going to feel like torture! I did get some baklava, which as also delicious! There are some other cake options as well.

It's been a while. I figured there would be new, and hopefully friendlier, staff. I was half right. There was new staff, but unfortunately, they were as unwelcoming as the last batch. This place has no prices on any of the premade sandwiches or pastries in their cases (why??), so we asked "Hey there, how much are your pies and cookies?". The employee was in the lobby sweeping and said "I'm not sure. Somewhere between $3- $5. Maybe more". She doesn't look up. Doesn't offer more clarity. She just shrugged this non-answer to us and carried on. It was awkward. So my husband, trying to make light of it, says "Sounds like it's up for debate so how about I give you $2.50" and this girl gives us a dour look and snaps "Well, I'm not behind the cash register so I can't look at the prices, can I?". So, we have now learned our lesson with this place twice. Not sure what it is about the culture there that results in such bad service years apart and by different people. We won't be returning.

Mount Desserts Pie Company had thousands of positive reviews, so we decided that's where we had to go. When you arrive, there is a handmade sign on the side of the highway for the shop and the driveway to pull in is a little tricky and takes a minute to figure it out. We pulled up right in front of the doors. Tip: turning right after you enter the driveway says "exit" only, so you have to pull straight ahead, even if it seems like you're not supposed to park there. We headed inside and were greeted by a friendly woman named Brit who had a ton of pie boxes ready to go! We got our blueberry pie and ate half of it in the car after we drove away.
