Very average food - we ordered the clam chowder and lobster roll. Clam chowder was basic at best. As for the Lobster roll - it was overly toasted and was not worth the price tag of $36. read more

Fun place and fun atmosphere! Really decorated on the inside and has a gift shop attached. I wished there was a little bit more lobster in my stew but it was creamy and yummy. The nachos were great too but the silver platter it's in makes it seem like you get more than you actually do. The round part is not deep. I ate with a group of 4 people and we finished it quickly. My lobster roll was usual price for a roll and good. I wasn't like wow'd by this place so if I was every in bar harbor again, I'd try a new place. read more

We had such a great time here. Getting a table was hard, won't lie. But overall the service, the food and the drinks were very nice. I called ahead to let them know we have a baby and they gave us a giant table for 3 - that was so good. They have a family bathroom with a changing table - which is so great! I had a 2 LB lobster and my husband had a pizza. Both were really really good! 100% recommend! read more

My family visited Geddy's for dinner. The vibe was casual and friendly. Our Waiter was very friendly and accommodating while answering our questions. Our appetizers consisting of steamers and were delicious and my family's entree were great. They had the tacos and lobster Cobb. As for me, I was really disappointed with the Atlantic Seafood Pie. It's my personal preference. The waiter recommended it highly. So I went for it even though I hesitated. Filled with cream and bread filling should not be a fish disk. Not a fan for the most expensive dish. So overall my experience was a 2 but my family's was a 4. Wish I had the tacos. read more

Our waiter Nicholas was amazing! He was patient. Answered all our questions. Food was great. Drinks were great. Might go back and try lobster here before I leave the area. Huge gift shop down stairs. Not a great place for kids. More of an adult atmosphere. We loved it. 9-10-19 Came back in tonight. My boyfriend wanted to try lobster before we left Maine. Nicholas was our waiter again. We started off with a couple drinks. I got a Sangria (they don't skimp on the alcohol). So my boyfriend got the lobster meal and I got a pizza to try something different. Pizza was awesome. And I was told lobster meal was great too. This place is like a well oiled machine. The employees are all busy and working hard. Definitely on our list of places to come back to when we're in Maine again. read more

Great ambience, staff, and the most amazing key lime cocktail! Fun experience and perfectly located

We were disappointed in this seafood restaurant in downtown Bar Harbor, which served up a generally lackluster menu of options in a crowded, frustratingly loud setting. Aside from lobster and haddock, there's a surprisingly sparse lineup of seafood dishes available, although the menu also includes a selection of salads and fish tacos. My lobster stew was watery and had about half the meat I would've expected, leaving me hungry after spending $18 on my entree. My kids were reasonably pleased with their chicken sandwich and burgers, and my wife's Taco Salad was also decent. The Lobster Bake seems to be their most popular option, but it's a huge dish that's probably best shared. There are also pizzas and burgers, but that's not what we were looking for at a seafood joint. Geddy's has a full bar, with tasty margaritas and a decent selection of craft beers on tap. But we really expected more from one of Maine's most popular seafood restaurants. Tough to recommend, with so many other great choices in Bar Harbor. read more

Fun chill place. Really good food. I was looking for smoked fish dip everywhere and this place at it! Right on the water so super cool. I got a drink and the fish dip and it was a great experience. I went with a squad and they were able to sit us quickly and nice friendly service. I recommend!!!! read more

me and my boyfriend came here for lunch to try our first lobster bake in Maine and it did not disappoint! My boyfriend ordered the 1 1/4lb lobster bake lobster which came with a corn on the cob a cup of clam chowder and a slice of blueberry pie. It was a really great deal and the lobster was cooked well and delicious. I tried the mini lobster bake which came with a small lobster roll a cup of clam chowder and a blueberry and cream cheese pastry. The lobster roll was good and it was the first time I have tried the Maine mayo based version which I enjoyed. The blueberry cream cheese pastry was also delicious. I can't comment on the clam chowder because i'm not a fan so I didn't try any. Overall I would say this is a decent restaurant with decent prices and in a good location right in the middle of town. read more

We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Didn't even know their history but how glad we were to chose this place to eat and have already recommended to those looking to eat while in Bar Harbor. Service was quick and without any fuss or drama. Had the clam chowder, lobster roll blueberry tart and two beers, no complaints at all, these were some of the best we had tasted while in Maine. Menu had a good selection for all tastes read more

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Geddy's. After exploring Bar Harbor a but, we got hungry, and Geddy's was not only open, but also had a but of a wait - usually the mark of a good spot. So glad we stopped in here. The decor is kitschy/ beachy which was charming and cozy - lots of nautical-themes things on the walls, along with license plates from the US and Canadian provinces. We sat at the bar where I enjoyed a Sea Dog Brewing blueberry ale which was nice and cold. I didn't want a super heavy lunch so I was happy to see that I had the option for a poke ahi tuna salad. It was just perfect - field greens, rice, thin sticks of cucumber, a nice portion of cubed, raw ahi tuna, avocado, and a gingery sauce. It really hit the spot. The reason I wanted a light lunch is so that I'd have room for blueberry pie! The slice was a nice size and was served with real whipped cream. It was a really enjoyable visit and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Bar Harbor. read more

Good food, good service, definitely recommend. Lobster roll with bacon and jalapeños was different but good. Pepperoni pizza was good. Mac-n-cheese was creamy and cheesy. Great place for kids. They give you a complimentary Frisbee, which served as the serving tray, with the kids meal. read more

Bar Harbor during (after??) the COVID pandemic is a place struggling to find good help just like any. Geddy's was the rare place we were able to get good, friendly service to match the inflated tourist pricing on the menu. The food was, you know, not bad. I had the fish and chips which was fresh and tasty. The place was packed but not just super loud which is always a plus. The accomodations are cramped. You have to squeeze through everywhere and the bathrooms are in an inconvenient location. Overall, Geddy's was probably my favorite restaurant of my Bar Harbor experience. Bar Harbor is a fun town, just not a foodie paradise - look for your kicks out on the trails of Acadia National Park and you won't be disappointed. read more

What a lively place with delicious food and old license plates and signs sticking helter skelter along the walls and ceiling! With many cozy restaurants appealing to us up and down Main St. we chose Geddy's because 1) a friend recommended it, 2) it's near the bay, and 3) it's less expensive than Galyn's next door (we haven't eaten there). Our waiter was funny and attentive. We liked seeing the cooks do their thing in the back where we sat at a hightop. NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER: Best we've had since moving to Maine 3 months ago. Strong, savory fish flavors without being too fishy. CLASSIC POUTINE WITH NATIVE CHEDDAR CURD: Respectable fries and savory gravy with cheese curds that made me keep digging for more beyond the point when I should have just stopped. GARDEN SALAD: One of my pet peeves is a house salad on a plate too small and everything falls off while you're cutting too-big lettuce and cucumber pieces and blue cheese dressing drips all over the table. This salad came in a nice asymmetrical bowl with plenty of room for tender greens, sliced black olives, grated carrot, cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers. Delicious. SAUSAGE & STOUT PIZZA: Brick oven fired, soft crust cooked perfectly, tasty sausage and caramelized onions made each bite a superb mouthful. A little too sweet (the stout maybe?) for my husband, but I loved it. We'll be back to this inviting spot in a busy town with lots of options. read more

I am reviewing Geddy's again after visiting Bar Harbor last month. Because Geddy's was one of the only restaurants open, we had dinner there twice. Both times the food was just meh. We were disappointed, especially since the first time we visited, the food was amazing. We were able to get a seat right away both nights and had a terrific server the first night. The second night our server was pleasant, however, he brought my husband a regular lobster roll when he had ordered it gluten free. We were talking when he brought it over so didn't notice right away, but when my husband went to take a bite, he noted that it looked like a regular roll and not a GF roll. We asked a passing server, not ours, if this was a gluten free lobster roll and she immediately said that it was not and took it right off the table and let our server know his mistake. My husband did receive his lobster roll, but weirdly our server commented he wouldn't be charged for the "extra" lobster roll because it was the server's mistake.... Geddy's is a fun place, with a fun atmosphere, and I am sure maybe they were "off" due to the fact that it was off-season, but we were looking forward to a great meal and found it just average. read more

This is a fun place to stop and the food isn't bad either. We make a point to stop in every year when we visit the area. It's a uniquely interesting place with odd wall decor - let's just say you never get bored looking around. Our service typically never disappoints and this visit wasn't much different. Our server was friendly and attended to our table throughout our visit. Pros: *friendly service *fun ambiance *family friendly *clean *food is good Cons: *food is overpriced for what you get *there is an up charge for just about everything that far outweighs overhead Food: *Fish and Chips: regular fish and chips, nothing fancy, but the taste is good *Turkey Bacon Burger: approved by my teenage son *Create Your Own Pizza: my boyfriend's son ate the entire pizza even though he is not a big eater so he really enjoyed it. Be careful though, every topping is $2 so a normal veggie pizza can add up *Tuna Ahi Blackened: the tuna is not fresh (frozen) but it does taste good. It's served with a brown rice that tastes a little odd *Truffle Parmesan Fries: save your money! They are French fries topped with Parmesan cheese crumbles and not worth the up charge Our most recent meal for 4 (that included two beers and one sangria) came to $100. A typical restaurant of the same quality usually costs us around $60. read more

Great fun place for some casual good food. Katie at the bar is the friendliest and made my brief experience so pleasant!

I've been coming to Maine regularly since 1964 when I lived here for 4 years so I know a bit about good Maine seafood. We're here this time for a memorial service for a friend and we threw caution to the wind and decided to stay in nearby Bar Harbor, a typical tourist town. Instinct told me to seek out an "out of town" restaurant for dinner but after a long drive getting here, we chose Geddy's, a short walk from out hotel. The warning bells went off when at 6pm, we were told they were out of two Maine staples, mussels and steamers but we pressed on. I ordered calamari for a starter and found them to be borderline mushy. For a main course I had the lobster stew. It was tasty but lobster was very sparse for $18. The biggest disappointment was my wife's selection, one of their "Signature Specialties, the Atlantic Seafood Pie at $27. The menu claimed it had haddock, shrimp, scallops, lobster and crab. If it did, there might have been one piece of each at best, all held together in a mush of what we think was an abundance of breadcrumbs that my wife had pushed to the side, so much so that the waitress asked if she wanted a doggie bag. We walked out mostly dissatisfied with our meal and a $100 less in our wallet but hey, it's a tourist town serving tourist food to folks who will probably never be back. read more

We really liked Geddy's for dinner! Made reservations and definitely needed them, they weren't even accepting walk-ins. Fun atmosphere, great food and drink menus. I had the Ahi Tuna tacos. So delicious. Server was great. A different servers dropped plates of food in the dining room, I was impressed that all employees nearby immediately jumped in to help her. It was a feel good kind of place and we'll be back. Cute gift shop downstairs too! read more

Service was very good. After that.... NOT all that. Disappointed is an Understatement. Food vs. PRICE.... Yikes. Make sure you tell your server how you want your veggies, ours was hard and not edible. Get the corn only. Haddock tasted frozen but was told it was fresh. Maybe freshly frozen. Seafood pie was good, but NOT $36.00 good when you cannot identify any of the ingredients. In truth, l would look around. If this is the best Bar Harbor has, keep going, because it's NOT WORTH IT. Oh, oysters were decent, but, very small. read more

I came in with no expectations and left with a shirt that says Geddy's. Boy, what an amazing restaurant huh? This place has, no lie, the best clam chowder I've ever had in my life. I ordered the mini lobster bake meal which came with a lobster roll, clam chowder, and a blueberry pastry. It was amazing! However, it was a little bit small and I had just done a big hike so I ordered a second clam chowder to top myself off. My girlfriend and I walked into Geddy's after taking a nice walk down the shops in Bar Harbor. We announced our reservation which the OpenTable app took immediately when we did so, and we sat down. We sat down in a cozy little nook in the back near the AC and an open window where the ocean breeze intoxicated us as the wonderful and kind waitresses took our drink order. Rachel likes steamers and she's also going gluten free. The waitress took extra time to point out the menu items that were and were not gluten free. She also was very informative of how many clams came with the steamer appetizer. My steak was cooked to perfection and honestly I felt like I could close my eyes and see the farm it came from. The veggies were tasty and the potatoes were amazing. We left after our meal feeling like a family dinner had just taken place. Geddy's is and will always be a part of our annual stay in Acadia.
