On the way to Acadia I stopped in to grab a quick bite. Food was good but a bit overpriced. Don't know if the prices are seasonal because it was early summer or if they're always high because it's Bar Harbor. Location was awesome and the staff was friendly. read more

First visit to bar harbor and worst place we've eaten. Clam steamers were dirty and served with hot water to wash the clams - (Mind you, no one said this beforehand or indicated such on the menu). Clams also were not broken down at all and served in just dirty clam water - no broth or seasoning at all. Overall dirty and unappealing. Main entrees were fine.. but fish and chips was one piece of fried fish that wasn't very meaty, and the lobster (lobster cake) was toughest we've had. Chowder tasted like canned. Blueberry pie we took to go - laughing about our bad experience. Crust clearly partially uncooked and tasted like fridge (fishy??). With all of the other amazing places we tried ... such a big let down. Don't be waste your evening. read more

They do lobster well, and obviously they can handle a large volume of people. 5 star staff- super friendly, efficient, but still takes the time to answer you questions and check in on you. The lobster was perfectly prepared. The clam chowder was OK, definitely better in town. The corn on the cob was mush, have no idea why they are serving it, especially this time of year. They should replace it on the menu. Pie was good. Lively atmosphere. Recommend it. read more

I gotta be honest...I'm super disappointed. This was obviously a very popular place, very busy and constant flow of people. At times really crowded. I ordered to go. I was told that it would be about 15 min and I said great and sat right in front of the hosts. After 20 minutes I noticed a bag of food come with a to-go drink. I figured this wasn't mine since I didn't order a drink and was looking straight at the hostesses who took my order. After another 20 minutes I asked about the status of my order. The hostess asked for my name and took a sip out of the drink that was there. I told her and she handed me the same bag that was sitting. After this, I just wanted to eat. To my disappointment the lobster roll was completely tasteless and bland. I was shocked. The clam chowder is better but still a bit under seasoned. My wife got the teriyaki salmon which honestly was descent on flavor and execution but a place known for their lobster rolls I'd definitely skip out read more

I arrived Wednesday in this magical place called Maine with loads of lobster. That's what drew us here along with Acadia National Park. My younger son selected Geddy's as our first dining experience. We ordered 4 lobster dinners at $49 each, which seemed reasonable being from Los Angeles, CA. Our other 2 family members opted for a cheese pizza and tuna poke. We warmed up our taste buds with insanely fresh Maine oysters, and a bucket of steamers. From my taste buds, I figured these items were fresh off a fishing boat. Our lobster dinners included a cup of clam chowder, an ear of corn, and blueberry pie. I ditched my club soda for a unique blueberry beer too. Geddy's has quite a lively atmosphere! I felt I was in a crowded Bar Harbor version of a Margaritaville. We grooved to the classic rock tunes. However, the multiple TV screens were a bit distracting. Our waitress was a trooper, highly professional, and cared about us. So far Geddy's is best meal I've eaten here. Don't wait, hike over there ASAP! read more

Tried to visit Geddy's on Thursday night, our first night in Bar Harbor, but it was totally packed! We made a reservation for the next night and glad we did! They had plenty of options. Their pizza, burgers and drinks were delicious and it was a fun experience. Our drinks came with adorable little lizards that matched the colors of our drinks which was a cute little touch! Will definitely visit again next time we're in town. :) read more

This place wasn't bad, but didn't strike me as great either. Service and environment were great. The food had ups and downs. Brussel sprouts for appetizer were great (my wife doesn't do seafood). I had lobster roll. It wasn't incredibly tasty, however it was chuck full of lobster meat and good. My wife had a burger and it was just blah. I don't know if I would go back, just because so many options in the town. Good lobster roll though. read more

Geddy's is on Main Street near the docks where cruise ship tourists arrive. Most days Bar Harbor is a busy place in the summer, but with a cruise ship in port it is REALLY busy. We were lucky to snag three seats at the bar for lunch or would have been waiting nearly an hour for a table. Geddy's has plenty of seating, it is just busy. Lot's of beers on tap and many more by the bottle or can. My hubby had local IPA and for me the blueberry beer. The menu has something for just about every taste. We enjoyed the mussels and lobster roll - they were good. The decor is busy and what you'd expect in a New England Tourists town, they have a little gift shop too. Service was fast and friendly. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Geddy's. I started with the painkiller cocktail. I love rum and OJ and this did not disappoint. There was coconut rum, spiced rum, pineapple juice, OJ and a few other things. It was DELICIOUS! For my dinner, I had a burger and fries. You can't really go wrong with this and it was very good. We got here about 9pm and never felt rushed. The decor was interesting and kept me occupied while waiting on our food to be brought out. I would definitely return here if I came back in the future. read more

Lobster bacon jalapeno pizza--so good! Calamari appetizer was also good--especially the bed of cabbage and peppers with the sweet chili sauce. Service was excellent. Comfortable and casual. Fabulous iced tea--basics done well. 2nd visit, takeout only: Ordered online--2 woodfired pizzas. They were both ready when I arrived. We had one pepperoni and one margherita with added mozzarella and roasted garlic. Delicious, some of the best pizzas--including the lobster pizza above--I have had in my lifetime. Worth every penny! read more

Other guests at the Inn we were staying at recommended Geddy's for a good Lobster dinner so we chose Geddy's for our last night in town Glad we did! Hubs had the "Lobster Boil" which included a good sized Lobster; Corn on the Cob, a bowl of Chowda and finishes with a personal sized Blueberry pie. I had the Lobster "mini"; a Lobster roll with an ample amount of sweet succulent lobster, a bowl of chowder which was a bit too thick for my taste- we had better chowder at the Thirsty Whale a couple of days earlier and mine was rounded out with a blueberry tart that was delicious. Great food really good drinks and friendly service. read more

Enjoyed the blueberry beer with blueberries in the beer. Never tasted anything like it, and I loved it. The blueberry pie was tasty, too. Ordered fried pickles and the lobster roll, both of which were excellent. The server was friendly and helpful. Cool ambiance and very busy spot at the time that we visited. Geddys have an amazing atmosphere, with walls full of funky stuff like car plates. One of my favorite dishes on the menu is the tuna poké bowl, which is very tasty and fresh. They also have nice burritos and pizza. It's a very good and friendly place! read more

Geddy's is a popular seafood restaurant in central Bar Harbor. It has the flair of a casual surfside eatery in Florida, albeit here in a more northerly climate. The food was alright, with the lobster roll and the fish & chips being the highlights. The decor is rambunctious and a bit irreverent, which makes for a fun albeit not very buttoned-up environment (e.g., there's a painting of a nude woman on the wall, which I found gratuitous). Overall an alright place to stop, but there are probably better tasting (and less inappropriate) joints in Bar Harbor. read more

Atmosphere: Geddy's is a lively restaurant with some interesting decor that can range from "local and humorous" to "tacky and raunchy," depending on your perspective. We went in the off-season, so the place wasn't too crowded, which was nice. Service: Our server was nice and took our order quickly, with our food coming out promptly after. Food: We ordered the Crispy Calamari with Sweet Chili Sauce as our appetizer, and the Shrimp & Scallop Scampi and Cap'n Geddy's Lobster Bake as our entrees. The calamari was pretty good, as the crunchy exterior went well with the chili sauce drizzled on top. The scampi was rather bland and buttery. While the seafood in it was decent, we had to season the dish with the salt and pepper at the table to make it more palatable. Cap'n Geddy's Lobster Bake came with a cup of clam chowder, steamed lobster, corn on the cob, and their famous blueberry pie. The clam chowder and corn had a nice amount of flavor. However, we were disappointed by their lobster. This was our first time eating Maine lobster so we were excited to dig in, but the lobster's body was filled to the brim with tomalley, a green substance that is not recommended to eat due to it being part of the lobster's digestive tract and thus, being able to accumulate a dangerous level of toxins. As a result, we were unable to enjoy much lobster meat, since our dish was mostly tomalley. This was disappointing to say the least since the lobster was the main item we were paying for in the lobster bake. The blueberry pie at the end of our meal was delicious and was by far our favorite part of the meal. The blueberries tasted fresh and tarty, and the pie had a nice crust. Overall: We may have had too high of expectations coming into Geddy's but overall felt that the restaurant was overhyped. While their calamari and clam chowder were good, we felt that their quality and flavor could be found at any ordinary restaurant. The other dishes were plain, bland, or disappointing to eat. The blueberry pie is all that lived up to the hype for us. read more

I thought long and hard before writing this review. I feel an obligation to share my experience in the hopes that future patrons might have a better experience here than I did. On Friday, 8/26, I went with a few friends to eat here. One of my friends loves the gluten free options. It was my first time, and I have never in my life had such a terrible experience with a hostess. She was the one wearing the brown headband studded with pearl beads. There was also a male host working with her and one other female. It was a busy night, so I was told it would be an hour wait. I checked back after 40 minutes to see if we were coming up. I was treated rudely by this hostess and told that it would be another 40 minutes, which would mean an 80 minute wait? It ended up being a 90 minute wait, and here's how she did this to us: About 20 minutes later, (which was the original hour I was quoted,) I got the text that our table would soon be ready. I texted back confirm and we came up to be seated. She then said, "I know that you got the text, but you'll need to wait a bit longer. We're going to get you. We waited another 30 minutes. Nothing. So, it had been an hour and a half. I went to check, and she said. "I just deleted you. We skipped you, because you never showed up." We were there the whole time sitting there with our stomachs growling and we most certainly did show up!!! And she knew it, because I'd talked to her and she'd put me off. Then, she proceeded to lecture me on goodness knows what as if all of this was somehow my fault. Rather than seeking a resolution, she wanted to argue. I had to actually tell her three times, "I don't want to argue, we need to be seated at our table," before the other host started taking steps to get us a table. Her vindictiveness made dining here such an ugly experience. We finally got our table and the rest of the experience went well. The service with our server was much better and the food was good. I hope that my review will at least bring the issue to the attention of management, or perhaps, at most help others know what to expect if no changes are made. read more

Always a fun trip. Tends to be a little crowded. Good place to take a break after the Park and get a beer.

We got into Bar Harbor during MDW, starving, ready for a nice drink, and we settled down at Geddy's right near the water! The food was mouth watering... we ordered the brussel sprouts, garden salad, salmon, and bacon burger. The brussels were by far the best brussels in town - you need to absolutely order these! The salmon couldn't have been cooked better - the rice, salmon, and veggies made fireworks in my mouth! Love this place! read more

Great service. We were put in a waiting list and told we would receive a text when the table was ready. We never received the text. When my wife confronted the hostess she apologized and found us a table. Our server was awesome. The food, well not what we remembered. I had the haddock dinner, the portion was poor to say the least. It was maybe at the best 1/2 thick and went down from there (my McDonald's fish sandwich earlier in the day was thicker).Taste was good portion was poor for the price. They also included a small handful of fries, and coleslaw about the size of a 50 cent piece. It is a real shame to pay $23 plus and get what I got. We will not go back as things have become more expensive and less proportionate. They aren't the only game in town, although they act like it. My wife's dinner wasn't worth commenting on, except clam chowder had little taste, small lobster bake she had was ok, blueberry pie that came with it was not even satisfactory! They say 50 years in business, however that doesn't mean anything if you skimp on portions. read more

Geddy's was fine - lobster rolls are decent, deserts were the best, beer list pretty good. Service is functional and portion size was good. Overall I'd describe it as Maine Lobster Applebee's. Bar Harbor is basically a giant tourist trap and the restaurants have little character. Nothing wrong here but given the cost I expected a little more. If I was to visit Bar Harbor again, I recommend but only if you can land a reservation - it's not worth a 2-hour wait for a table in the high tourist season. read more

Pretty good. The service is very attentive. Of course you have to try their lobster rolls.

Geddy's is a popular restaurant and I decided to enjoy a beverage and meal at the lounge area as most tables had a waiting period. The servers were busy and abrupt, my drink was well made but it took a while to garner the servers attention to order a meal. I ordered and wait time was fine. I ordered the seafood pie which had shrimp and lobster and haddock with a butter sauce. Sounded good but the meal was under seasoned and well overcooked.. Disappointing considering the cost. The only saving grace was the company of customers who were engaging and pleasant. I thoroughly do not recommend dining at Geddy's read more

Welcoming casual dining with good food. Being a tourist in a tourist town was overwhelming and we weren't sure where to eat. Geddy's was a shot in the dark that landed. This is a 4 star stop that was made to 5 because of our service. Sitting at the bar, Abbey was patient, able to walk us (and many other guests) through their beer offering, menu, and other stops in Bar Harbor. She didn't shy away from telling folks things to try and more importantly, avoid. She's good at her job. What we had: Clam chowder Mussels Tuna tacos Fried chicken sandwich Everything was above average. Though, pro tip, the hot sauce on the table is HOT. Use it sparingly at first. read more

Its ok. Service was pretty good. Wasnt too impressed that my toddler found someones dirty mask on the seat and put it on. I guess that shows the cleaning level here. The kids had pizza which wasnt the worst I've ever had but didn't get finished and didnt impress anyone. I had the chowder which was actually pretty good. My husband had a burger which also didnt get finished. I had a local beer which was great. I believe it was a seadog blueberry ale.
