Okay, so I have been wanting to come in here for years, and on November 30th, 2024, I finally got the chance. I said for a long time: my first time here, I'm going for the fish and chips, and I am glad I did. The fish was in the Goldilocks zone - cooked just right - and the chips (fries) were nothing short of delicious. In between stuffing myself like a hungry walrus and eyeballing all the license plates and nautical decor on the walls (and even the ceiling), I think it's safe to say I found a great new place for lunch. The license plates and the nautical decor on the walls (and ceiling says one thing: this ain't no "Spongebob Squarepants Salty Spitoon". This is no hokey dive bar, people. If anything, the decor only enhances the "wicked good food served here" vibe. Plus, the wait staff are super nice, making you feel like they genuinely appreciate your business. Of course, I had to let the chefs know they did an awesome job before making my way to the gift shop downstairs. I left feeling full and satisfied, like I had stuffed myself like a hungry walrus. They're closed for the season, but they reopen on March 6th of next year. I will make a note of that on next year's calendar, because I definitely want to go back again. read more

Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. Great location, wonderful staff, food excellent! We had the Mahi tacos - nice twist with the green apple salsa. Gift shop downstairs is a must see. Check out their hot sauces.... yummy. read more

Great relaxing very good burgers but not as good as Rodicks Take out in Southwest Harbor

Today we stopped in here for a late lunch, outside it was cold, windy and rainy. However, inside the restaurant great music was playing and it was a good vibe. The GF options were a big surprise and the QR code at the table with nutritional information was an idea more restaurants should copy. It was great information for anyone with food allergies. Caroline, our waitress was very helpful in what our GF and DF options were and we both had the Fish and Chips. The Haddock was very fresh and so nice because we don't eat out very much! We really wanted some Clam Chowder, but unfortunately, it was not a DF recipe. She was very knowledgeable about the local GF IPA's too. As far as cleanliness, in lot of restaurants we go into they clean the tables with a wet rag and who knows what else. Today, the young man cleaning empty tables was using a spray bottle and paper towels. We noticed he was very efficient and his attention to detail was spot on. We really like to see a restaurant managed this way. If you have time to check out the gift store below, they have some fun items that we haven't seen in the area. Geddys, thanks for the great lunch! read more

I was really looking forward a great family dinner at Geddy's. But that was not quite what I got. Make a reservation! -- We had no problem making a reservation for 3 people the day before. Two days prior we tried to walk-in at 5:30pm for dinner (Sunday) and the wait was 2.5 hours. First impression -- Loud & crowded, but not as loud as some of the other downtown Bar Harbor eateries. I went to the bathroom as soon as we got there and proceed to badly cut the end of my thumb on the bathroom door latch. The hostess gave me a bandaid. Drinks -- We enjoyed beer, a mock-tail, and soda. UNTIL...I discovered there was a long brown hair floating is my drink. The other two folks hoped their drinks did not contain hair as well because they were both dark drinks & would not be able to see it. The waitress brought me a new (hairless) drink. Food -- T his was the HIGHLIGHT! We started with the Thai chili calamari. Fantastic & fried in their GF fryer! I had the fish & chip platter which was the BEST I had ever eaten. The tarter sauce had a bit of mustard in it which was amazing. My husband & daughter split a bowl of chowder & a pepperoni which they both enjoyed. We did not eat dessert there. Overall -- I would hesitate before returning to Geddy's for dinner again. I would have really like to have seen a manager wandering around the restaurant checking in. Both the hostess & waitress did what they could for my badly cut finger & hair my drink. But I was unimpressed with the lack of management presence. read more

Service was great! Short wait to get in but large cruise ship was in town. We had pizza, salmon and scampi with shrimp and scallops. I thought scampi was great and everyone else liked their food. So this is a thumbs up read more

Great service. To ben great food and amazing service. They had a lot of people to serve and they got are food to us very quickly. Our waiter abby was a great help too for checking on us to see if we are okay. We were supposed to get a 3 hour wait but then the guy in the front desk got a seat for us right away. I gave this a 5 star review but it deserves it and I am a 10 year old kid and it was great read more

Amazing place! So glad we looked on here for reviews first. Delicious food, outstanding service and really cool ambience. Made a reservation and walked right in. Close to the water which is a plus. Loved Geddy's! Will definitely be back if we come to Bar Harbor again! Our server Natasha was fantastic and super personable. :) read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Seriously this is another incredible spot for any food while In bar harbor. First-The location is right near the water with beautiful sights to see while you wait for a table. The location was really cool. More of a "pub" style to it but It has an amazing atmosphere. We got seated right away (table of 4) and we had plenty of space for us at our table. There's room for smaller and larger parties and a cool bar to hang out at. Second-The food was phenomenal. We are visiting and obviously lobster rolls are what we came for and this place had maybe the best one we had. We started off with the garlic mussels which were amazing. Really really good sauce. Not a huge order, more of a personal app. Our meals was 2 of us got the bacon jalapeño lobster roll which was AMAZING. It is a cold sandwich, they don't serve them hot but you can get hot melted butter. There was a good amount of lobster meat and the roll was toasted perfectly. I like spice but I didn't really taste any spice but the flavor with the bacon is amazing. One of us got the seafood pie which he loved. Cast iron dish and it was a pretty good size dish. My other friend got the lobster stew (big Bowl) and than got the fish and chips (haddock) and it looked really good. I love fish and chips and that looked probably the best I've seen. For the dessert we had to try their blueberry pie. Here's my thing. Still a 10/10. But the blueberry pie at side street was better only by the crust. That's the only thing that for me was better. But I still recommend getting it for dessert. You won't regret it. Overall I definitely hope you enjoy this place! Definitely one of my favorites! read more

Geddy's is 5-star! The food was delicious, and trust me, you'll want to order the tasty lobster stew and the blueberry pie with ice cream for sure!! The ambiance is fun and casual. And we were lucky enough to meet the owner who was a true gem!! She was so gracious and hospitable; it is the kind of business you would want to patronize just to support the family's business and longevity in the community. read more

This is the dominant seafood place in Bar Harbor. Right near the water, and the park across the street has the best view in town. There are other places, but folks line up here. It's worth the wait, whether you want to pick your own lobster or have something easier. I had the lobster stew and the seafood pie. Both were richer and more calories than I need, but wow! Totally delicious! I sat at the bar to avoid the wait, and service was good. Make a reservation. It's been here a long time, but they're still top in town. read more

Charming little place with a nice view of the bay. Lobster roll with drawn butter was good, ample meat. The surprise was the Seafood Pie. It had lots of lobster pieces, shrimps, scallops, and haddock. It was flavorful and the cream sauce worked well! It's a must go back to for us! read more

Oh man did we love Geddy's! What a cool spot! My boyfriend and I came on our trip to Maine and loved our meal. We sat at the bar - bartenders were super attentive and helpful. We shared steamers for an app (they are HUGE and sweet and just amazing). For our entrees I had a lobster Cobb salad and my boyfriend had fish and chips. Both were outstanding! We can't wait to come back on our next trip! Definitely make the stop here! read more

I could smell good seafood and grilled somethings passing by around here. We were a group of 12, so ordering out was better and taking it by the waterfront. I must say, their lobster roll looked good, plentiful with bits of corn, but wasn't as delicious as others we have tried. For its price, I wasn't impressed. The Lobster pizza was so plain tasting, as well. But their Clam Chowder was very good. We took the Lobster Bake home; that was hard to eat in the park, but I wasn't inclined to try it, after being underwhelmed by the Lobster Roll. They were quite busy though as they were situated in prime location. read more

This was recommended by our hotel as "fun dining"' Being right in downtown, make sure to make a reservation if you want to eat at a reasonable time! We enjoyed their pizza, but the didn't have some ingredients so our options were limited. We ended up with our third choice: fig, prosciutto, and Gorgonzola. The crust was perfectly cooked! We also got the fish and chips. Which came with a decent sized filet and (very little) fries. read more

The day me and my family went was end of April school vacation week, on a Saturday night. It was busy, but not crazy. The table where we sat were VERY close together with other tables that were all full. It was hard to squeeze into my seat because the person behind me had there chair right up against the back of mine. The service was very efficient. The waiter brought the drinks over super quick, and all them were decorated with little plastic animals hanging off the rims of the glasses. We got an elephant, a money and a lizard. The Shirley temple was enormous, and our cocktails (a cosmo and vodka soda) were regular size. The food was good, but not wow. There was a small error with the order which I take full responsibility for...I wanted the ahi tuna salad, not the special ahi tuna tacos...all I said was the ahi tuna, and the waiter assumed I meant the special. Oh well...the tacos were good, but I'm guessing the ahi tuna salad would have been better! My family got a burger and a fried chicken sandwich and both were good, but not wow. The food came out fast. The waiter was very attentive. This place is made for quick turnovers. We were happy. We went for a nice walk around town, along the path along the ovens, and around town. Great time of year to go to Bar Harbor. No problem parking at all. read more

Being from Maine and going to college at The University of Maine in Orono meant one thing Thursday nights: head to Geddy's!!! (In Orono). After graduating, we started heading to Geddy's in Bar Harbor for dancing and tasty beverages. My boyfriends' boss was in town for one day and we had to take him to Acadia and Cadillac Mountain, naturally. New England in the fall? Perfect!!! So where to bring him to eat? Hmmm...He prefers casual and pubs (Being from Scotland). Geddy's!!!! My boyfriend and I are both UMaine Alumni and yet, this is the first time we have ever eaten here, haha!! Great atmosphere. It was about a 30 minute wait. The nachos hit the spot and my haddock was so good. The veggies had a nice seasoning. The crab and avocado toast- I think that was the best dish out of the three. Megan took very good care of us: "Not to slow and not too fast." (Ian). Geddy's, to us, is an iconic Bar Harbor bar. We loved it. I have so many memories there! Oh and paper straws!!! Yay!!!! read more

I get it now. Everything people say about the lobster, pie, clam chowder is a fact, without a doubt. The pie is made with fresh whipped cream and amazing blueberries. The clam chowder is creamy and silky. The lobster is moist and warm with clarified butter. The service and esp out service were super kind, helpful and chill that made it feel like we been friends for a while. Definitely worth it and experience the joy yourself! read more

Tourist trap, recommended by locals. Food is overpriced even by vacation standards. Pizza was soggy.

I had a great meal at Geddy's! It was super easy to make a reservation which I recommend doing since it can become fairly busy. They have your typical Bar Harbor food menu including whole lobster which was done really well and reasonably priced. I also enjoyed their blueberry pie (picture included!). It was overall a great atmosphere to dine. read more

Here's the good: the hostesses who greeted us and our server were really lovely. The decor is fun and funky, Now the rest: the food was just not great. I had the lobster plate, husband the lobster roll. Clam chowder was loaded with corn starch, never my favorite, with very few clams. The lobster was rubbery and flavorless. The corn was definitely not fresh - it was frozen. Husband's lobster roll was also just not great - rubbery, flavorless lobster on a roll Not much else to say. We didn't drink anything so maybe their cocktails are better than their food? This just felt like a tourist trap, and I would never go back, especially after eating amazing lobster at so many other places in Maine. read more

We were very happy with most everything here. This is a cute, family oriented bar and restaurant decorated with a lot of memorabilia. We had oysters and a couple of drinks at the bar - everything was great including the service. We then had dinner at a table with our son where we had the buttermilk chicken sandwich, calamari, the lobster bake and fish and chips. The food came out in a flash and our waitress was lovely. The only thing I'd say could use improvement was that the fish from the fish and chips could have used more seasoning. In conclusion, this was a good experience and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Bar Harbor. read more

We got here late on memorial day (monday) and this was one of the few places that was open later. The place was quite busy and the hostess seated us quickly and the server was attentive. We were hungry, like 7 hr road trip hungry. We got the shrimp and scallops scampi, tuna tacos, fish sandwich, and brussel sprout and bacon pizza. For our first meal in Maine, most of everything was quite... average. Shrimp and scallop scampi lacked salt but the scallops were cooked perfectly. Tuna tacos were refreshing. Fish sandwich was crispy and fresh. Brussel sprouts on the pizza were still half raw. tldr; not bad but nothing stands out. I probably wouldn't go back with all the choices in the area. read more
