I gotta be honest...I'm super disappointed. This was obviously a very popular place, very busy and constant flow of people. At times really crowded. I ordered to go. I was told that it would be about 15 min and I said great and sat right in front of the hosts. After 20 minutes I noticed a bag of food come with a to-go drink. I figured this wasn't mine since I didn't order a drink and was looking straight at the hostesses who took my order. After another 20 minutes I asked about the status of my order. While they don't have outdoor seating (main reason for four stars), they are near the harbor and have a good vibe. Our server was cheerful and overall great. We had a couple of the lobster dinners that came with clam chowder, corn on the cob and blueberry pie for $48. It was all very good. Our daughter had a burger (a good option for the non-seafood fan) and she said it was good as well. First, it's worth getting a reservation here. It always seemed packed when we passed. If you've never been to Bar Harbor, there's a lot of wait times if you pick the busiest time to eat. That being said, booking a time and modifying one was super easy. They're great about online or phone reservations! Our drink was just okay, really pricey and really sweet. We ordered the painkiller but couldn't finish it because of how sweetened the mix was. Oysters were fresh and delicious. There's plenty of food options for all types of eaters. This is probably the best place we ate at Bar Harbor. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the amount that we got. My favorite was the drink I got, which I believe was a piña colada which was named different and I can not recall. The Salmon is cooked to perfection, not dry and not too undercooked. The mussels where very tasty and served with a delicious slice of bread. The pizza was really good and my fiance and I managed to finish the pizza even when we were feeling full. When my wife confronted the hostess she apologized and found us a table. Our server was awesome. The food, well not what we remembered. I had the haddock dinner, the portion was poor to say the least. It was maybe at the best 1/2 thick and went down from there (my McDonald's fish sandwich earlier in the day was thicker).Taste was good portion was poor for the price. They also included a small handful of fries, and coleslaw about the size of a 50 cent piece. It is a real shame to pay $23 plus and get what I got. We will not go back as things have become more expensive and less proportionate. They aren't the only game in town, although they act like it. My wife's dinner wasn't worth commenting on, except clam chowder had little taste, small lobster bake she had was ok, blueberry pie that came with it was not even satisfactory! Probably my favorite restaurant in Bar Harbor. I was here in early May, and there were a lot of restaurants that were stilled closed, but I came here everyday for a meal while staying in bar harbor. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Their cocktails were delicious. But most importantly, their food was so good! They were one of the only restaurants that had lobster rolls while I was there. However I opted to get the ahi tuna poke the first time which was delicious. It had huge chunks of ahi tuna, seaweed salad, avocado and reasonably priced, and definitely filling! For appetizer my friends and I had the garlic mussels. I HIGHLY suggest you get this because it is finger lickin good. I wanted to slurp the broth out of the bowl. I ate it as my entree when I came for lunch. I would recommend to wrap up the meal with the blueberry pie slice. It was so good and comes with a scoop of ice cream. It was the perfect combo. read more
