My water heater stopped working and I wasn't getting any electrical signals from the outlet supporting the heater. I reset the breaker to no avail. I was out of hot water, and quick response was very important. I called Gavin late Friday morning. He came by that evening and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes. Despite his extremely heavy workload that day, he nevertheless accommodated me the same day I requested help. I was extremely happy with his professionalism, knowledge, and communication of what was required. Thank you Gavin!!! read more

Gavin is awesome. My ceiling light stopped working and I couldn't replaced it on my own since it was a LED fixture. He came the same day I called and advised me on which fixture, bulbs and switcher I needed to buy prior to his arrival. When he arrived, he was efficient and informative. He also checked the rest of my house and gave me suggestions about what I could update. His rate was better than other electricians I called. Definitely reach out to him if you have any electrical needs! read more

Gavin was fantastic! He was able to diagnose and fix the wiring in my garage which prevented me from charging my EV. He was on time, set expectations about pay clearly and transparently up front, and explained to me what was going on and the changes he made. I will definitely plan on calling him again if I need another electrician! read more

Amazing work and communication from Gavin! The list of the work that he did for my house below. Ring Doorbell: Installed a new mechanical doorbell chime, a transformer, and wired everything up. Ring Floodlight Camera: Displayed his creativity where he had to run an electrical wire from a backend outlet in the garage towards the front of the house. Keep in mind that the garage is all drywall. Google Nest Power C Wire Connector: Seamless installation of the unit to provide constant power to our Google Nest Thermostat. Light Switches: Quick installation of our ELV dimmers to get rid of the buzzing noise for our recess lights. I highly recommend reaching out to Gavin for any electrical assistance. read more

Gavin individually solved an electrical problem for us that 2 other electrical companies could not. He took the time to carefully diagnosis the issue, whereas the other companies just seemed to do a superficial once over before trying to charge us an exorbitant amount for a huge, unnecessary project. We were having an issue where whenever the garbage disposal or microwave was used, the circuit breaker would trip in one of the bedrooms. We called 2 bigger name companies whose electricians could not figure out what was wrong. Their only solution was to suggest breaking open the walls and installing dedicated lines, but they even admitted that they weren't sure that would solve the problem. It would also have cost thousands of dollars. Gavin really seemed to want to solve the problem instead of just trying to gouge us out of our money. He took the time to look at different areas of the house and was able to trace the faulty wire to a different bedroom. He fixed the issue and we didn't have to break open any walls. Very nice guy as well, considerate of our space, and he just genuinely seemed to care about solving the problem. read more

I needed help with an entryway light that might turn on if it was warm, but definitely would not if it was cold. Gavin identified the issue within minutes and it's now fixed. I called him around 4:30 in the afternoon and he returned my call within the hour. He's now my go-to for electrical work on my home. Thanks Gavin! read more

Contacted Gavin about several eletrical items based on his positive Yelp reviews. He was clear about terms and conditions and gave a good price. He was delayed by another job so we had to reschedule the time to review the work and give a bid; he was on time the day of the work and worked efficiently to replace a bathroom fixture, replace an outdoor motion sensor light, replace 2 Lutron dimmer switches, and diagnose flickering pendant lights. His talents really shined in troubleshooting the BR fixture install (as 1 of the glass scones wouldn't unscrew easily) and the filckering lights (as the existing dimmer switch was not the right kind for the fixture which had been previously installed by a Diamond certified licensed electrician but the new dimmer made the other light on the dual switch - which previously never was an issue - have a problem); he was able to fix both of these tough issues and weeks later all is still well. We would definitely hire him again for similar electrical work. read more

This review is just for communication - I ended up choosing a different company for EV charger installation. However, Gavin's questions, knowledge of the project, and reliable follow up, as well as super competitive pricing, makes this an easy recommendation if you're just starting your search. read more

I was looking for a reliable electrician and looked on Yelp, I'm so glad I trusted the other reviews! I reached out to Gavin to install recess lighting in my kitchen, an outdoor outlet and an indoor outlet. Gavin was responsive when I first requested a quote and later in the week, came by to examine the areas. He asked a lot of good questions and was very detail oriented. He stated his job scope very clearly. On the day of the work, he kept me updated on his arrival and came on time. It took him an entire day to do the work and I'm appreciative of the Covid precautions he took. I definitely will reach out to Gavin for future work. I speak English and Mandarin and it was very helpful that Gavin is bilingual. His price was competitive with others that I looked for in the area. I Definitely recommend him if you are looking for a reliable, responsive electrician. read more

There was no power at the outlet that runs my dishwasher. Gavin figured out my problem immediately, charged a very fair price. I will be using him from now on for all my electrical needs. read more

We recently moved into an older home that needed outlets to be grounded. The job was not an easy one -- there was a need for holes to be opened in our ceilings and walls and we were given an estimation of the job taking at least a week by another company. Well, we found Gaven who did the job in one long day of hard work. He was professional, direct on what the expectations were, and executed the job perfectly. Weeks later I had a DIY emergency working with exposed live wires -- he was responsive, and was able to come the same day to fix my issue and educate me on electrical 101. I am now a safer person because of it. Gaven is someone I trust and would highly recommend. read more

Good response and communication, reasonable price. Quick and thorough. Would hire again.

We moved into a 100+ year old home that had its original doorbell removed and replaced with a non-functional wireless doorbell. I reallyyy wanted to add a Nest doorbell which would have required physical wiring. After sharing some photos, Gavin was honest to me about how potentially tricky it could be. He came out anyway, and managed to drop down a new wire and hook everything up (very neatly too)! Also, I had a last minute appointment come up and he was so accommodating by coming in an hour early so I could leave on time. read more

Gavin is awesome! He came by on a Sunday (who does that?), which was so very helpful to me. We used him to swap out/set up new smoke and carbon detectors. He's very knowledgeable and could easily explain to me what was happening with the previous faulty detectors. He even offered to take back unnecessary products I purchased for the job. Wow. Anyway I will call him again for future work at our other properties. read more

I reached out to Gavin to help with several electrical issues I was having. In one visit he (1) moved my outdoor motion sensor security light to a new location on a different wall, (2) replaced 5 old bulb-based motion sensor security lights with new LED versions throughout my backyard, (3) and added 2 new indoor light switches for my garage. Not only was he punctual and courteous, he also completed the job perfectly, and charged me less than half of what two other Bay Area electrical companies wanted. Would highly recommend Gavin!!! read more

I had a faulty switch to a disposal, I wasnt sure which was broken since the switch didnt turn the disposal. Gavin fixed both the switch and installed a new disposal for a GREAT price. He was professional, quick, and thorough. 10/10 would hire again, hes been over before to fix another faulty GFCI outlet. Gavin fixed our doorbell. After I called he set an appointment time via text and arrived when he said he would. He asked good questions to diagnose the problem. He had spare parts in his truck and finished the work quickly. His price was fair. And he told me how to avoid the problem in the future (don't hold down the doorbell or you will burn out the chime). Five stars, and thank you! read more

I had a minor emergency recently -- the outlet that my washer and dryer plug into died literally while I was in the middle of doing laundry. I contacted several electricians and went with Gavin in part because of the strong reviews on here and in part because he was one of only a couple who could do the job the same day -- by coming to my house after normal business hours (7 pm) to get it done. He was quick, professional and less expensive than everyone else who gave me a price. I would absolutely use him again. read more

This review is long overdue but Gavin helped us tremendously in getting our Ring camera floodlights installed and fixing an issue with our outdoor plug not being weatherproof. Gavin did a great job, was communicative and offered to help and even close our garage door when we couldn't be at home for the whole job. We appreciate him being responsible and finishing the job in an efficient way. We highly recommend Gavin! read more

I've been using Yelp for years and have been very lazy to write reviews but I feel Gavin deserves a shout out. He was knowledgable, methodical, thoughtful and very organized when fixing our lighting issue. He helped us label every wire and when he was done he cleaned up after himself. He explained every step to us and we feel very confident about his work. Now I finally have my kitchen lights again. He even followed up with us to make sure everything was working perfectly. Thank you so much Gavin. read more

Gavin responded quickly to give me a quote on installing a timed switch for my overhead fan in the guest bathroom. Gavin was very easy to communicate with, straightforward, and finished the job no problem. Highly recommend. Our place had a socket that started smoking and burned out, along with the power going out of the room. We contacted Gavin after looking up Yelp, sent him a picture, and he was able to find time in his schedule on short notice, since the room is used as an office and we were hoping to have it fixed asap. He came, fixed promptly, and costs were fairly reasonable. Will definitely call him up if we have future problems! read more
