I told him I will come today. I drove up from the peninsula and arrived at "Yury Lights" at about 4PM. I announced my self to Ben, reminding him of my call. A woman enters the store. Ben quickly grabs a 5" threaded hollow nickel rod off the worktable in the back. Ben tells me I will have to wait, he has another customer. He then commanded me to examine the part near the door entrance. I went to the entrance and examined the part. It was 3/8" fine thread. I tell "Ben" I need coarse thread and in my that our morning phone call, he stated he had it. Ben got nasty at this point, declaring "we don't have motorcycle parts". I lost my patience at that point, telling him I made this trip to San Francisco because he stated on the phone he had 3/8" coarse thread hollow tube. He was more interested in the well-dressed lady he likely pegged as wandering in from Pacific Heights. My assessment? Ben smelled a more profitable customer. He brushed me off. No time for the bearded disabled Vietnam veteran and his signal light issue. Zero stars. I will live in the dark before I ever do business with this snotty kid or Yury's..

The fixture was reasonably priced based on what I was looking for. My fixtures came fast. The people at the register and pickup area were very nice and also efficient. I heard from another customer that while the other branches are easier to park at, this store has the biggest showroom. It's not fancy but if you know what you're looking for, it's a great place to get EVERYTHING related to electrical supplies.

Rather than buying new lights, I've been retrofitting dilapidated vintage lights into our cottage. One of the light mechanisms in an old factory pen lamp was screwed up more than I could decipher with a voltmeter. I brought the offending light to Berkeley Lighting, and they dove in and fixed the problem with only a little bit of digging through the spare bits of a hardware box. I am pleased beyond belief, and I know where I'll be going the next time I need to purchase lighting.

Left again, rescheduled to Monday (!). And, lo and behold, no-show again on Monday. After 45 mins, I called their office and they simply said something got in the way and they can't help it. They work efficiently and have been doing this for nearly 30 years. They are friendly and trustworthy. I was at work during the day and felt comfortable with them being in my house while I was away. Don is a great communicator and was keeping me updated with the work they were doing. I felt at ease during the whole process. Once they hooked up temporary power and switched on the lights (which should be brand new) nothing worked and some of the outlets didn't work. Long story short it took them 3+ days to remap the electrical in the house plus fixing the switches, outlets, labeling the patch panel, installed the chandeliers basically fixed what the bad electrician did. These guys are so professional, great with their clients, personable, they make things right, great people, knowledgeable and if you're looking for great fun electricians look no further, call these 2 brothers asap.
