Best Tile is aptly named. It's become my secret weapon for all tile needs, I'm completing a house + ADU remodel: 5 1/2 baths all with floors showers and walls tiled. Plus laundry room, a fireplace front, and 4 porches. The basic tiles that are in style have no appeal for me, so finding great tiles has not been easy. Many tiles have come from different sources, but Best Tile has never failed to surprise me with something great that I hadn't known existed. Workers are not too friendly there. I attempted to return something there and I had 4 counter workers jump on me. One guy had me wipe off some sheet rock dust that didn't seem to be that bad on some metal corners that was 8 ft high, another one told me it wasn't their product despite a receipt, and another guy told me that it is impossible to return something past 30 days. A new bathroom gutted to the ground takes more than 30 days to rebuild! Another worker used his reading glasses to look for any scratches. All this for $ 75.00? Guess what? Keep it, snd that $75.00 is on me! Next time folks despite what they say, no returns after 30 days, expect the first degree and then some when returning any thing! read more

We purchased a bathroom sink ( Ceramic) from them. The material was such a low quality that it cracked during installation. I contacted them for an exchange but they refused to exchange or refund saying that they don't give any guaranty for a sink. I had to just throw away that sink and buy a brand new from Home Depot. Best Tile sells products from different suppliers. Purchased 850 sq ft of Lexfloor from here. They are able to get some of the order within a few days and then quoted that the supplier stated a delivery time of 2-3 weeks. I contacted and verified with the supplier as such. Upon verbal confirmation and ensuring it's actually 2-3 weeks instead of "maybe or estimated 2-3 weeks," I purchased the floors. This was April 24th. It's July 25th and nothing. Shipment date kept on being pushed back another 3 weeks again and again until they quoted 1 month in June. Then it's quoted that there is no estimated time. No sympathy from the employees of Best Tile and when I was calling every Friday to check up on the status, they even sound annoyed even though I'm always stating I'm checking on the status in a polite way. I'm sorry, but if you were paying for 3 additional months of mortgage and labor, you would be checking on the status weekly too. After finding a similar shade but totally different grain, width, and height floorboards, I cancelled my remaining order that was unfulfilled... After waiting 3 months. No sympathy, no compensation. I wouldn't recommend Best Tile just because of the companies they choose to work with. What you sell (regardless of whether it's your product or not) represents your company because consumers are buying from you. They've chosen a horrible supplier to work with and they continue to sell them knowing other customers will have the same issue. BUYERS BEWARE. read more

Before the start of remodeling my master bath, I paid Best Tile a visit to get an idea of pricing. They had a wide selection of glass, stone and porcelain tiles for average prices, along with a showroom area for bathroom designs. I paid Lowe's a visit to compare and Lowe's was actually cheaper... as for the tiles I had in mind. Weeks later, I came back again to shop for my vanity sink area. Wasn't in the mood to shop around and compare prices so I purchased an above the counter porcelain sink, chrome faucet, and sink stopper/popup- the three totaling $191. I ended up at Lowe's again and similar sinks were selling for $200+ I was also looking for granite or corian counter tops, and I was told they don't sell it by the slab. They have pre-cut counters, but don't carry pre-cut counter tops the size I needed and do not offer cutting services for it. Service is OK considering a little language barrier. I had to rephrase some questions I had, but the guy helping me understood eventually and brought out different faucets I chose so I can see how they would look on the sinks I was interested in. Returns accepted within 30 days, however, there is a 25% ridiculous restocking fee. The fee can be waived if you accept store credit rather then a refund. read more

This store completely took advantage of me. I like the tiles I bought here, but they sold me more than I needed. It's partially my fault for not checking the quantity before I left, but after I told the sales guy (Edison) I needed 32', he told me the price and rang me up for 10 boxes. I didn't think about it until I got home and realized they sold me 3 extra boxes worth of tile ($110). Since it's marble, they will not refund me. I got cheated - Do NOT shop here. Even worse, when I originally called and then posted a review, they called to argue with me saying they sold me the right amount. I pulled my review down thinking there was something missing in my math. Installation is complete with 3 extra boxes of tile. Mmm hmm. read more

Warning. Scammers!!! Customer service is terrible. They tell you that if you don't use leftover product or material. As long as it's still in packaging, they would accept returns. Not so. The staff all have attitudes as if I am the reason they had a bad day. Not once have I visited, that they've greeted me or my clients. They'd generate a lot more revenue if they hire more professional sales people. I shop here and there but only because I don't have any other choice finding tiles at other retailers. I often tell my clients not to shop there, unless it's their last resort. If only they knew my annual 6 figure spending limit with other retailers, maybe they'd be more eager to help and gain my business. Based on the reviews from the installers they hire, I would think twice about contracting them to do work on your project. My recommendation is shop elsewhere! read more

Wow, some people are REALLY turned off by this place... Here's the story. The customer service here is ok - but it's not warm and fuzzy. I don't go to BEST Tile for hand-holding. I go for one thing: A large selection of natural stone tiles at truly super prices. They do have a large ceramic selection too - but it's very conventional stuff. Not especially edgy or interesting. But if you're after STONE products - from tile, to slab or sheets of mosaic-style stuff... Best Tile is a must visit. Try not to let the brusque style of business put you off. They will help you - and they were very polite in helping me with a large order at the end of a day once (Friday too I think!). The clearly explained the return policy. They helped me sort through boxes of Indonesian Marfil (an inexpensive Marfil with some red coloration that some people find annoying and can be weeded out). They loaded it up into our truck... And the price was unassailable. Having said all that about stone - I also bought some gorgeous and fairly pricey Italian ceramic (marble looking) stuff for a bath remodel here. The whole job came out quite reasonably, though. Half the price of the Design Center places. True, that product I chose was not representative of their selection over all. But you might well find something you love. If you do - TAKE SOME SAMPLES HOME FIRST!!! You buy the tile, then return it. They will credit your cc or whatever - no hassle, very friendly. Then buy and enjoy the savings. One last thought - if you're working with somebody behind the counter who is either cranky or who doesn't speak great English, just wait around a minute and change employees - they have a large crew there and at least a couple of the guys have been great to me. Large selection, nice show room. Unfortunately, non- customer oriented staff. Tile shopping is regional - and most tiles shops do not carry the same brands and materials. If you know what you want, this shop provides a decent selection. Their staff really isn't customer oriented and doesn't care for repeat business. Before you pull out your credit card, every sales person says, "no returns". Even if it is a packaged product un-opened? They never want to see you again. Get what you need, but don't expect a nice shopping or buying experience. Disclosure - we have remodeled two bathrooms over the years, and have purchased here for both. Each visit reminds us that there are better places to shop, just not at their prices. read more

This was the first place we went to for tiles when we did our remodeling and thought they have a good collection.. but after shopping around they are actually on the expensive end. I also talked to my contractor and they said they are notorious for overpricing.. I ended up buying some tiles from them.. just because of emergency.. because my contractor was building my shower and I need something right away. I called in advance to see if they stock up on the specific tile I wanted. the guy on the phone said they did.. cool.. I will come by.. I came by pay for the tiles so that my contractors can come pick it up.. an hour later my contractor called me saying that they don't have it in stock.. and the lady I dealt with called me from best-tile said sorry they dont' have it at the moment.. and I have to wait for Monday unless I want to go to the SJ warehouse.. Long story short.. bitching and cruising like a crazy hobo didn't get me my tiles.. they were overpriced and just want you to pay for inventory that they didn't stock.. there is a no refund policy so you are pretty much suckered in.. my contractor have to make a special trip again which I felt a little bad Go to Dactile in SSF or Granite Expo in Emerysville. Remodeling my bathroom and found this place close to home. Basically got everything I needed and regret going to lowes before I came here. They have way more tile to choose from and vanities. There's also an employee named hector who was really helpful and showed us around and tried to get us the best deals they could offer. There's small showrooms as well in case you have no idea on how to design your shower, etc. definitely recommend. read more

I purchased some bathroom tile from here a couple months ago. They do have a good selection- but their prices are not much cheaper than Lowe's or Home Depot. Some of their stuff is more expensive. Their customer service is hit and miss. One time it was great- another time I was treated like I shouldn't know anything about bull nose or thin-set because I am a woman. After purchasing my tile & other items here (almost $800 worth), my contractor was busy with another project- so my bathroom remodel was put on hold for a month. After he finished my bathroom I was left with two boxes of tile. At $3.95 per square foot- it was not that cheap. I wanted to exchange the tile as I now decided to remodel a second bathroom in my house. I called Best Tile and they would not exchange the tile. I was given some excuse that their inventory always changes- so they could not take them back. The guy on the phone was rude on top of it. I know that their inventory must not change that much because my mom remodeled her bathroom about 8 years ago and bought tile here- they still carry her same design. What the hell am I going to do with all this freaking tile?! Anyone want some tile? I sell it to you cheaper than these creeps. read more

I finally made my purchase on some Italian porcelain tiles and they look amazing! I'm very happy with my interactions with Cary and staff. Cary has been most helpful in this draining remodeling process. I also noticed that they have quite a few staff members on the floor now to assist customers. They're readily available and am willing to spend time with you, whether you're making a purchase or not. My tiles were in stock, of course, and they were brought out after about 10 minutes. My contractor didn't mention if there were any broken pieces so I'm assuming they were delivered in good condition. They have a variety of home building supplies, not just tiles. The prices are very fair and it seems like they have a little bit of everything. Definitely worth a trip to check out as you'll probably find what you need here. read more

Some of these reviewers need to consider what neighborhood they were in. Bay shore is not the place to go if you need your hand held or expect to be greeted at the front door. Best tile has a large selection of, reasonably priced, tile and a parking lot. This place is seriously low end ( notice the garbage they are trying to sell out front)but If you know your stuff you can find a great deal. Sometimes a really good deal! That being said, I would never ever bring a client here. You also need to inspect every piece of tile before you leave because Best Tile has a sucky return policy. read more

My parents went there to get tile for their remodeling job for their kitchen. They showed us their samples and examples of different layouts because we went there with no idea on what we wanted. In the end they helped us figure out what works best and at a great price. Contrary to what other yelpers have said regarding customer service I would have to disagree. They were great and helpful with our needs. The day we went was extremely busy with what looked like contractors, I would guess the majority of their business are from people who know what they want and know what they are doing. I quite like this establishment. The reps are friendly when approached and knowledgable. And as many have already mentioned, this is not the place for hand holding. It's somewhere you go to get what you need. If you ask a question, they'll help but otherwise you're on your own. This is especially true if you go in looking like you know what your doing. :P I've worked with both Jason and Wei on several occasions, most of which has been Schluter Systems (Ditra and Kerdi) questions and they're both super helpful. It occurs to me that I have only been on the vanity/tile side... I've never been on the other side of the store. I will have to check that out. I went in here for the very time.. since the last time i came here was years ago when it was Office Max... my cousin asked me come here to help him get some screws and tape for the kitchen vent pipe thingy.. and i got help from the staff right away... they seem to have a lot of supplies for home improvements convenient for me to go there and grab things to go... when i got home, my cousin noticed the nails was too short.. so i went back to get the larger size screws.. the lady that was there recognize me and when i explained to her what happen.. she said i could have brought the original screws in for return.. anyways, great customer service from the staff there. =) read more

In 2008, I bought tile at Best Tile for my bathroom project. The project got delayed for, oh, a couple of years (the life of the DIY homeowner). Finally this past Spring, I made time to finish the tile project. And wouldn't you know it, I'm a box short of tile. Figured I could just run down the street to Best Tile to buy more of my tile. But, no! They no longer carry my tile. Could they do a special order for more of my tile? No, because they no longer deal with the Italian company that makes the tile. Could they reach out to this tile company in Italy for me? No. To be fair, I was lame for not accurately estimating the amount of tile needed for my project. And I learned more about tile production - for example, the tone of tile can change. It's best to get all your tile from the same "batch" of tile. Went down the street to Floorcraft. Their tile guy found my tile, at a tile place in New Jersey. Excuse me while I go write a rave review of Floorcraft. read more
