Samuel installed an electric line to power my water heater last year and did a fantastic job - it's still working with no issue as expected. Recently I had an unrelated issue with an GFCI outlet that kept tripping when we ran some household appliances simultaneously. We weren't sure which outlets shared a current or breaker, but after some experimentation we replaced the faulty outlet ourselves as a first pass. I called Samuel for an assessment and he was nice enough to stop by and diagnose. He helped us do some tests to confirm which outlets were connected to what breakers. The problem stopped happening by itself when he stopped by and didn't end up needing servicing. He also gave some advice on appliance configuration, how to not overload the circuit, and secondary troubleshooting we could do on our own before calling him again. A few weeks ago, I hired someone on Yelp to fix my circuit breaker box. Yesterday night, the power started to partially go out and the circuit breaker box started sparking and sizzling. I just bought a condo and I had a lot of electrical upgrades I wanted to do (Tesla Wall Connector, sub panel replacement, additional outlets, additional lighting). Samuel was able to understand my vision and quickly got back to me with an estimate over Yelp. Sam is really responsive to message over Yelp and text messages and was a breeze to work with. Sam and his team did a great job running all the new rough electrical work over 4-5 days, another ~2 days of finishing work, and another ~2 days of inspections over 7 weeks. Sam is a great communicator asking me questions as work is done, provided great knowledge on best placement of the new lights and provided important knowledge to make sure we're up to code. Sam attended all the electrical inspections with the City of San Francisco and provided the electrical load calculations of our residence to satisfy the city's requirements to pass the inspections. The price was within what he quoted, and he allowed us to make a modification in real time to add one more outlet for a reasonable fee. To say he worked quickly is an understatement - it was ~20 hours from initial outreach to having 2 new outlets in a closet where there previously were none. He closed up the walls with minimal damage (basically the least you could expect in this situation) that allowed our painters to spackle, sand, and paint over when they came a few days later. Great workmanship, great communication, super fair pricing, and an X factor that you won't find elsewhere, which is Samuel is just a great collaborator/brainstormer/project planner. I had this really messy, complicated situation with an old house renovation in SF that had been partially finished in the 1940s-1960s. Instead of removing the original, incomplete work, we decided to finish it, but that created a lot of complication with installing full modern electric up to code (outlets plus light fixtures) in 2 rooms in this tight basement space, around structural beams, through walls and ceilings constructed with various materials over the years, removing old cloth wiring, etc. As a result, we couldn't find any electrician to take it on in 18 months of looking until we lucked out and found Samuel, and then it was completed in 2 days! With perfect results and at a great price. This project wasn't easy, it required creativity and an appetite for taking on a challenge, and Samuel delivered big time. We are SO grateful to have this work finally done so we can move forward, and Samuel will definitely be our go-to electrician from now on... my only worry is he will become too busy because someone this good is very hard to find! read more
