We are so lucky to have found Darwin (he was recommended by another contractor, Caledonia Plastering & Stucco, who we also liked and plan to work with soon!). Our first issue was flickering throughout the house and within the first 5 mins of our meeting, Darwin noticed the contractor electrical tape on our power lines and told us to have PG&E to come out and replace the tape with caps. This did the trick and was at no cost to us! In our most recent experience, we had another electrician come out to examine the sturdiness of our old junction box. We wanted to install a ~30 lb. chandelier and was concerned it couldn't sustain the weight. This electrician told us they'd have to open to ceiling and replace the box. We'd have to hire a plaster contractor to fix the aftermath. We decided to get a second opinion with Darwin and he was able to reinforce the mount with an expansion bolt. He hung the new light fixture within minutes and charged us a minimal price. It's difficult to come across highly skilled contractors with equally as high integrity. Do not believe the other reviews. Darwin is absolutely dishonest and untrustworthy. I asked him to help me evaluate a blown fuse. He troubleshoots it by flipping a switch and charged me $100 for it. Then it gets worst, I was busy with a work trip so I did not get a chance to pay him yet, and I get a text from him at 10:15pm threatening he will sue me for not paying him. First of all, it has not even been a month yet and he's already threatening me. Secondly, good luck with finding an attorney that will accept defending him on this case and take it seriously! I really don't care too much about paying $100. However, I do care when people like this charge unethical rates and rip me off! It's just not right. read more

Darwin helped me replace a chandelier in a tricky location (extra high ceiling over a staircase), a job that was turned down by a few other electricians. He came prepared with a tall step ladder, but the ceiling was still too high. He was able to come up with a solution by building a platform which enabled him to do the job safely. When his helper cleaning up afterward, they noticed my broom hanger was loose and detached from the wall, they fixed it for me with no extra charge. As I was preparing my apartment for tenant's move in, I found out the refrigerator was out of power. Immediately, I decided to put the service request on yelp's. I received several responses within 30 minutes. The DE Electric replied and scheduled an inspection and repair within 2 hours of time. Work was done in one hour, checked the non-functional GFCI outlets and regular outlets for the refrigerator. Then of course the electric panel inside the apartment.
